Meghan the Stallion via Berk Communications for use by 360 Magazine

Grammy Award-winning musician, philanthropist and entrepreneur Megan Thee Stallion and Cash App announced the launch of a limited-edition “Hot Girl Enterprise” Cash by Cash App apparel collection, which is currently available for purchase HERE.

Both Megan and Cash App partnered to co-design the collection, which includes a reversible bucket hat, a T-shirt and 1 bike short. All proceeds from Megan and Cash App’s collaboration on the clothing collection will go toward supporting charitable projects focused on education, housing and health and wellness in Megan’s hometown of Houston as well as across the globe.

“I’m really proud of this apparel collection with Cash App,” Megan said. “Not only did we create a fierce and stylish look for my Hotties, but we’re also giving back to communities in need in a meaningful way.”

The limited-edition collection comes after Megan and Cash App previously partnered to give away $1 million in stock to advocate the importance of financial literacy. As part of the announcement, she also released an investing tutorial on YouTube with Cash App called “Investing for Hotties,” where she educated viewers on various financial concepts, such as dollar-cost averaging and diversification.

Questlove × The Balvenie

Quest for Craft, a new digital series created by Questlove in partnership with The Balvenie Single Malt Scotch Whisky, debuts today. The series explores the convergence of craft and creativity, and in episode one, Questlove is joined by Saturday Night Live comedian Michael Che to explore the theme of chaos and discuss how unpredictability and disorder play a role in their respective crafts.

Eddie Murphy to Receive Distinguished Artisan Award at 8th Annual Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards

Award-winning actor Eddie Murphy, best known for his work in the films Coming to America, Beverly Hills Cop, The Nutty Professor and Dreamgirls, among many others, will receive this year’s Distinguished Artisan Award at the 8th Annual  Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards (MUAHS, IATSE Local 706), celebrating the prolific spectrum of his versatile four-decade acting career on screen and television. Presenting the Distinguished Artisan Award to Murphy will be Arsenio Hall, star of Murphy’s upcoming movie Coming 2 America. For registration and information visit this website.

The reimagined awards gala, honoring outstanding achievements of both make-up artists and hair stylists in motion pictures, television, commercials and live theater, will be held virtually on Saturday, April 3, 2021.  The announcement was made today by Julie Socash, President of IATSE Local 706.

“From The Nutty Professor to Prince Akeem, Eddie Murphy is a legendary actor whose myriad of characters live in our hearts forever. He has expertly created memorable personalities in numerous award winning films, often portraying multiple characters in the same film. This award recognizes all the hours that he has spent in the make-up chair collaborating with our talented and innovative make-up artists and hair stylists, and we celebrate these great relationships and Eddie’s enormous talents,” said Socash.

Eddie Murphy is the most commercially successful Black actor in the history of the motion picture business, and is one of the industry’s top five box-office performers overall. At the tender age of 59, Murphy is on the very short list of actors who have starred in multiple $100 million pictures over the past three decades, from Beverly Hills Cop to Daddy Day Care.

Murphy was most recently seen portraying the legendary underground comic personality Rudy Ray Moore in Dolemite Is My Name from Netflix, a performance which garnered him widespread critical acclaim as well as a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor – Motion Picture —Musical/Comedy and a Critics Choice Association nomination for Best Actor. He also recently received an Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his return to his comedy alma mater, Saturday Night Live.

In 2007, Murphy received rave reviews and critical acclaim for his portrayal of James “Thunder” Early in the Dreamworks film Dreamgirls, a performance which would garner him the Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild and Broadcast Film Critics Association Awards for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture, as well as earning him his first Academy Award nomination in the same category.

He is also the voice of Donkey in the Oscar®-winning animated film Shrek and its sequel, Shrek 2, which is the top-grossing animated film of all time. Murphy won an Annie Award and earned BAFTA and MTV Movie Award nominations for his performance in the first Shrek, and reprised the role of Donkey in the final installment of the hugely successful franchise, Shrek Goes Fourth. Murphy began his career as a stand-up comedian 45 years ago. In 1980, at the age of 19, he joined the cast of Saturday Night Live, and has since gone on to establish a successful career on the big screen.

His films have been among the highest-grossing comedies in the industry; they include  48 Hrs.Trading PlacesDr. DolittleComing to America and the Beverly Hills Cop franchise. Murphy garnered Golden Globe Award nominations for Best Actor in a Comedy for his performances in Beverly Hills CopTrading Places and 48 Hrs.

In 1989, Murphy made his directorial debut with Harlem Nights, a period comedy he also wrote and starred in, opposite Richard Pryor and Redd Foxx. In addition, Murphy starred in and produced the hit comedy Life, co-starring Martin Lawrence, and starred opposite Steve Martin in the comedy Bowfinger. He was also the voice of Mushu the Dragon in the successful animated epic Mulan.

In 1996, Murphy portrayed seven different characters in the worldwide box office smash The Nutty Professor, for which he received another Golden Globe Award nomination. He added a character to play a total of eight roles in the sequel, Nutty Professor II: The Klumps, co-starring Janet Jackson. He also starred in Dr. Dolittle 2, Daddy Day Care, The Haunted Mansion, the romantic comedy Norbit — in which he played three characters as well as serving as the film’s producer and screenwriter, the caper comedy Tower Heist opposite Ben Stiller, and the drama Mr. Church.

The Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild’s Distinguished Artisan Award is given annually to those whose body of work in the film and television industry was richly enhanced by the consistent collaboration of make-up and hair styling artistry creating memorable characters throughout their career. Previous recipients include Sir Patrick Stewart, Melissa McCarthy, Gary Oldman, Johnny Depp, Ryan Murphy and Guillermo del Toro.

As previously announced, Matthew Mungle, Oscar® and Emmy®-winning make-up artist, and Terry Baliel, Emmy®-winning hair stylist, will receive Lifetime Achievement Awards honoring an extraordinary spectrum of acclaimed work, exceptional contributions to the motion picture arts and sciences, and outstanding service to their union or the entertainment industry. The 8th Annual Awards Gala is produced by IngleDodd Media and Erick Weiss/Honeysweet Creative. This past Saturday, H.E.R., the two-time Grammy Award winning singer, songwriter and musician, made her stellar debut on the iconic Saturday Night Live stage with captivating performances of “Damage” and “Hold On.”  The studio versions of both songs are currently available at all digital service providers.

Tracking COVID-19 Via Social Media

Apple and Google announced plans to work together to provide tools that will help track the spread of coronavirus using apps that allow digital contact tracing and notification via Bluetooth. Social media reacted with tens of thousands of mentions of the collaboration within the first hour, according to international social media analytics firm Talkwalker.

In just one hour after the announcement, there were 34k mentions of the collaboration, Talkwalker reported. This excitement was best explained by Google CEO Sundar Pichai, who stated that he and Apple CEO, Tim Cook are “committed to working together on these efforts.” His tweet received 10k engagements in the first 2 hours of posting and had an 8/10 trending score.

Sentiment analysis shows people reacted positively to the privacy controls that would be built into the apps. Worries about civil liberties were more neutral and there was also a generally positive reaction to what this could mean for the public health as a whole.

Tim Cook’s tweet announcing the collaboration has received 44k engagements. Sundar Pichai’s has received 35k engagements so far.

The companies stressed the privacy controls they would use to exclude sensitive geolocation data. Overall the term “privacy” generated 16k mentions within the conversation.

And Apple and Google weren’t alone among brands doing good.

Among the other companies trending this week are:

NBA H.O.R.S.E tournament by State Farm: Donating $200,000 to COVID-19 relief efforts, State Farm brought back sports, at least a little bit. The tournament generated 20k mentions within a day of being announced, Talkwalker reported.

SNL at home: SNL’s fully at home episode generated 55k mentions. According to Talkwalker, sentiment analysis showed that of those conversations 23% were positive and 24% were negative – right in line with host Tom Hanks’ expectations.

Allstate and American Family are sending refunds to policy holders who are driving less. This is a very small conversation – just 2k mentions in the last 30 days. But the news has generated nearly 500k engagements as lots of people are excited by the possibility, Talkwalker reported. Here’s one sample interaction.

Halsey’s new album, Manic (Capitol Records), has sold over 2.75 million adjusted albums globally to date. Manic entered Billboard’s Top Current Albums chart at No. 1. Earning more than 239,000 equivalent album units during its first week of release, it marks her biggest-selling U.S. debut. During her appearance as the first musical guest of 2020 on “Saturday Night Live,” Halsey  gave her new single, “You Should Be Sad,”  its television debut. She also performed an acoustic version of “Finally // beautiful stranger.”

Ryan Chernin Releases Debut LP

His Debut Release Brings “A Sultry Collection of Songs About Life, Love and Loss” to Fans of the NY Based Singer-Songwriter

Following the release of the single and video “Ash Tray Kisses”, Singer/Songwriter Ryan Chernin recently dropped his Debut LP “You Know Who You Are” via Inhuman Records. Packed with “mature songs, personal lyrics, and intricate instrumentals” its being called “more like an exploration of self than a combination of songs”. And for the NY based Chernin, it seems likely only more positive feedback is headed his way!

Singer/songwriter Ryan Chernin showed an inclination for music at an astoundingly young age.

My mom has this one story – my grandmother swore by it too – that at three or four months old they were talking to me in my crib and I apparently gave them their exact intonation back,” Chernin recalls, laughing. “According to my mom, that was my introduction to music.” He insists that his real introduction was the Yellow Submarine tape she’d play for him in the car, and the piano lessons he begged his parents to sign him up for as a child.

Over the years Chernin’s parents continued to encourage his love for music and his passion for performing, knowing even back then that it was more than just a phase.

In college Chernin studied film, and as an accomplished actor, spent much of his time in and around theaters. However the spotlight is something the soft-spoken artist has never been entirely comfortable with. The reason, according to him, is simple: “Every time I got on stage and did musical theater, I was always a character. I was very much about throwing myself into those characters.” That disconnect is something Chernin struggled to overcome as he began working on his latest LP, “You Know Who You Are”. “It’s me up there. It’s my pain, my happiness. It’s all out there and it’s very vulnerable.

You Know Who You Are is the culmination of a year’s worth of work in and out of the studio, a sultry collection of songs about life, love, and loss. “What was most important to us was to take our time with it and really make sure it was perfect every step of the way,” Chernin explains. “It was about selecting the right people.” That list of people includes producer John Eugenio, mixer Chris Davies, and SNL guitarist Jared Scharff. The result is a maturity and depth that takes most artists years to capture, with Chernin’s quick wit and caustic sense of humor complimenting his raw indie rock sound.
