Koe Wetzel - Sellout

KOE WETZEL RELEASES NEW ALBUM – SELLOUT

Today, genre-bending artist Koe Wetzel has released his third LP Sellout via Columbia Records. The album comes alongside an official video for new single “Cold & Alone,” which was directed by George Nienhuis and stars Wetzel as he experiences the mixed emotions that come with the demise of a relationship. Watch HERE. Produced by long-time collaborator Taylor Kimball, Sellout also includes previously released tracks “Good Die Young,” “Kuntry & Wistern,” and “Sundy or Mundy.” See full tracklisting below.

Last week, Wetzel announced that he and Read Southall will co-headline a mini acoustic tour next month along with Austin Meade who is slated to open each night. The run of shows kick off December 8 at Oklahoma City’s The Criterion where the two headliners will share a stage and trade off playing songs from their respective discographies to a limited capacity live audience. Visit https://koewetzelmusic.com/ for tickets and more information.

The Texas-born singer, songwriter, guitarist, and producer continues to unapologetically trail blaze between grunge, country, Americana, and damn near everything else under the sun on Sellout. From 2015 up until signing with Columbia Records this summer, Wetzel quietly sold over 200,000 units independently and went from playing bars with chicken wire in front of the stage to hosting and headlining his own music festival. With over 485 million streams and video views to date, Wetzel continues to build his diehard audience.

His 2017 debut Noise Complaint became a phenomenon powered by “February 28, 2016” [25.5 million Spotify streams], “Something To Talk About” [20.6 million Spotify streams], “Love” [16.1 million Spotify streams], “Fuss & Fight” [14.4 million Spotify streams], and more. The momentum continued with 2019’s Harold Saul High and its singles “Ragweed” [13.8 million Spotify streams] and “Forever” [10.8 million Spotify streams] as more sold-out shows ensued. Following a tireless grind, Wetzel surprise-released the 2020 anthem “Kuntry & Wistern,” which exploded right out of the gate trending on Apple Music. Wetzel followed with “Sundy or Mundy” in July, marking his first release with Columbia Records, which garnered praise from Rolling Stone who called the song “a mesmerizing tune.”

Sellout is available HERE.

The hypnotic siren infused instrumental finds Jason Derulo in his element. With a staggering 40 million followers across TikTok, Derulo is the biggest musician across the platform. The undeniably catchy yet enigmatic instrumental from 19-year-old New Caledonian producer Nuka captured the attention of many and amassed over 200 billion impressions worldwide. Derulo being a big fan of the viral sensation, sifted through the videos and across the internet sought after the creator. Regardless of the miles that separated the two artists, the power of music brought the two artists together to create a new hit “Love Not War (The Tampa Beat).”

“Love Not War (The Tampa Beat)” follows on from a string of anthemic singles released by Derulo over the past year, with “Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)” having over 1 billion combined streams worldwide to date and the latter “Take You Dancing” amassing over 205 million global streams and counting.

About Jason Derulo
A true multi-platform powerhouse, Jason Derulo undoubtedly ranks among the top pop and urban artists of this or any era, with 5 #1 OCC singles, with 11 RIAA platinum-certified singles, 15 billion combined global streams, close to 7 billion YouTube views, and worldwide singles sales well in excess of 190 million. The wildly talented singer, songwriter, dancer, and entertainer first drew acclaim through songwriting collaborations with such like-minded icons as Lil Wayne, Pitbull, Diddy, and Sean Kingston. Derulo kicked off his remarkable solo career with 2009’s chart-topping, 5x platinum-certified “Whatcha Say” and never looked back, rolling out five acclaimed albums and an epic string of hugely successful hit single including “In My Head,” “Ridin’ Solo,” “Talk Dirty (Feat. 2 Chainz),” and “Want You To Want Me,” all of which received 4x platinum certification from the RIAA. Among his countless career accomplishments, Derulo is among social media’s biggest stars of any genre, currently boasting over 113 million fans and followers across all platforms.

About Nuka
New Caledonian 19-year-old producer Nuka unassuming uploaded a beat he called 4 Brylean (WayzRmx2018) to his SoundCloud page in 2018, alongside many other Siren inspired remakes and production edits he had shared. Two years later the audio had been catapulted into the limelight across the online universe of Tik Tok. In the midst of lockdown and a global pandemic, Tik Tokers around the world had gravitated towards the uplifting, hypnotic sounds of Siren music. Whilst, Jawsh685 had taken the genre mainstream with his single “Savage Love”, NUKA’s instrumental remained at the helm of the growth of the genre across Tik Tok. However, now being called the Tampa Curhat Beat – named after the initial Tik Tok uploader – the audio had been condensed into 10 seconds and paired a catchy dance to match. Undeniably one of the most used sounds on audio, NUKA’s instrumental became the soundtrack to over 23 million Tik Tok videos, boasting to over 200 billion impressions. For comparison more videos and impressions than Powfu’s “DeathBed,” Regard’s “Ride it” & Sam Fisher’s “This City” combined! While the song seemed to have reached all the ends of the earth, with various remakes of the track, claims to creation, and even a new title, NUKA was none the wiser.

Big $TUNT – Capitalize Off Pain

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS!

INTRODUCING BIG $TUNT: THE ALL AMERICAN SIXTEEN-YEAR-OLD RAPPER FROM YORK, SOUTH CAROLINA

WATCH NEW MUSIC VIDEO “CAPITALIZE OFF PAIN” HERE

WITH OVER 10 MILLION STREAMS TO DATE, LISTEN HERE

At the early age of sixteen, Big $tunt has released his debut music video “Capitalize Off Pain,” shot in his hometown of York, South Carolina, and directed by Dr. Teeth. Watch HERE. In his debut with Block Ent/Columbia Records, Big $tunt unveils a day in his life as he notably juggles his music and high school football career.

About Big $tunt
Rather than run away from life’s trials, tribulations, and tough times, Big $tuntconfronts them head-on in his music, and even uses them as fodder for inspiration. That tenacity can be credited for his rapid rise from the small rural town of York, SC to over 10 million streams, 250K-plus Tik Tok creates, and a deal with Block Entertainment/Columbia Records (all before his senior year of high school). He grew up with five siblings on his mother’s side and another five siblings on his father’s side as the middle child in both. In seventh grade, he teamed up with soon-to-be regular collaborator BiG J5 and cut his teeth on the mic. By high school, they “finally got into a real studio, because there isn’t one in York’. He featured on BiG J5’s “BrandNew Remix” and dropped “Thuggin” and “on gang.” In between, he excelled on the football field, playing cornerback and wide receiver for his school team. He transferred the hustle from the field back to the studio. It shows on his breakthrough single “Capitalize Off Pain.” On the track, a skittering beat and trap bounce echo beneath his singular and surgical high-register delivery. His voice slices right through the production as the hypnotic chant captivates. After racking up 1.9 million Soundcloud plays, it exploded on Tik Tok with countless fan videos.  As he balances hip-hop, football, and school, his grind never lets up with more music on the horizon.

POWFU -  “when the hospital was my home” feat. Rxseboy

POWFU –  “when the hospital was my home” feat. Rxseboy

Rounding out an incredibly life-changing year, lo-fi rapper/singer Powfu is treating fans with his brand new track “when the hospital was my home” today via Columbia Records. The lyrically vivid song was heavily inspired by the 2019 romantic drama film 5 Feet Apart. Listen HERE

Powfu has also revealed that he is releasing a new 8-track EP, some boring love stories pt. 5, next Friday, November 20 via Columbia Records. The EP is a continuation of parts 1-4 that Powfu has steadily been releasing over the last 2 years.

Speaking on the song, Powfu explains: “The movie inspired me to write a song from the perspective of someone living in a hospital. When I played it for my dad, he broke down and started crying when he heard the lyrics: ‘I dont wanna let go when we hug, one thing worse than dying is losing who you love’. I knew at that point that this was something special.”

The new music comes hot on the heels of Powfu’s massive 2020 hit song “death bed (coffee for your head)” featuring beabadoobee officially being certified Double Platinum with over 2 BILLION worldwide streams. The addictive hit song blasted Powfu to the forefront of the music scene this year, positioning him as one of the main pioneers bringing the lo-fi genre to the mainstream. The song got its first big push on TikTok, where it currently has over 6 MILLION clips using the sound.

Stay tuned next week for some boring love stories pt. 5.
