About BUNT.

BUNT. is a multi-instrumentalist duo from Stuttgart, Germany composed of Nicolas Crispin and Levi Wijk. True to their name – a word that means colorful in their native language – their sound is a vivid combination of genres, including folk, Americana, soul, jazz and pop. With over 55M streams worldwide to date, BUNT. is one of the most successful and streamed artists from their hometown and is attracting a global following. Their previous single “Sure Don’t Miss You” follows the duo’s early-2019 track, “Oh My Other,” a sweetly lilting track threaded with whistled melodies, stomping rhythms, and high-powered acoustic strumming.

Rolling Stone hailed BUNT. as “the next generation of folk-house” following the release of the single “Harmonica.” Idolator said, “[BUNT.] hits the sweet spot between pop and folk” and Billboard praised their “unabashedly upbeat amalgam of electronic dance music and folksy Americana.” In 2016, BUNT. was selected to co-star alongside Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, as well as produce the music bed, for the Kia Motorsport ‘Soul’ campaign following the duo’s critically acclaimed  single “Old Guitar.” “Old Guitar” reached # 4 on the US Viral chart and #8 on the Global Viral Spotify.

BUNT.’s songs have since been heard in advertising campaigns for ABC, Hollister, Abercrombie & Fitch, Spotify and Fujifilm, among others. Their mixtape series, “Folk-House Chapters,” featuring remixes of popular songs from artists including Vance Joy, Mumford & Sons, Lumineers, Elle King and more, has won the support of major YouTube channel Proximity, which has hosted all five parts of the series to date.

The duo’s official remixes for OneRepublic’s “Let’s Hurt Tonight,” Avicii’s “Without You,” Gryffin’s “Nobody Compares To You” and Spanish singer Alvaro Soler’s “El Mismo Sol” have charted around the world. Their remix of “El Mismo Sol” hit the #1 slot on the Spotify Viral Chart in Spain upon release.  BUNT. will release their upcoming EP later this year via Interscope Records.

Billy Raffoul – International Hotel

Singer/songwriter Billy Raffoul shares a live performance video of the title track from his recently released full length album International Hotel. International Hotel takes its title from a bar in Raffoul’s home town of Leamington, Ontario. Raffoul filmed this live performance at the actual International Hotel Bar.

Mainly co-produced by Raffoul and his longtime collaborator Justin Zuccato, International Hotel was released last month on Interscope Records. American Songwriter said of the album “International Hotel is the kind of album that lingers long after its last notes fade, an incisive imprint that suggests an important new voice is here to stay.” After opening on the title track (a loving tribute to Raffoul’s father and his lifelong devotion to rock-and-roll), the album offers up a dozen more songs rooted in his sharply observed storytelling. With those songs encompassing everything from treasured family history to clear-eyed social commentary to a heartrending ballad of a comic-book hero on “The Ballad of James Howlett,” International Hotel closes out with “Massey Hall”: an homage to the venue of Raffoul’s dreams, a Toronto theater where Neil Young recorded Live at Massey Hall 1971.

About Spillage Village —

Born out of block parties, college dorm rooms and late night house sessions, Spillage Village was founded by Atlanta duo EARTHGANG and rapper J.I.D and were then joined by producer Hollywood JB and artist Jurdan Bryant. The quintet self-released their first collaborative project, Bears Like This (2014) to a warm reception gathering a groundswell of support from peers. Soon after singer Mereba and rapper 6lack joined the group and released their second critically acclaimed effort, Bears Like This Too (2015) with press dubbing it “a definitive statement from one of Atlanta’s most musically vibrant posses” (VICE/Noisey).

Keeping it’s momentum, the following year Spillage Village made waves again with Bears Like This Too Much (2016). The EP would be a turning point for many of the artists in the group who’s solo careers began to take off,  6lack’s debuted his Free 6lack project (Interscope, 2016) and EARTHGANG and J.I.D signed to Dreamville Records (Interscope). OLU from EARTHGANG would say that the three “Bear” EPs acted like “checkpoints and markers in time” chronicling the rise of the musical mavericks. Almost four years later, with many a sold out international tours, Grammy nominations and personal projects, Spillage Village is back to deliver soul-serving music.

Still Woozy – BS

Still Woozy’s new single, “BS,” is another homespun and heartfelt song from the technicolor mind of singer/songwriter Sven Gamsky. Out today via Still Woozy Productions/ Interscope Records, the track is a surreal sliver of pop centered around delightfully dazed vocals.  “BS” is available now at all digital retailers.

Like many of Still Woozy songs “BS” dives into Gamsky’s psyche while also offering listeners a way out of their own worries. Yes, the lyrics are about “struggling with his brain,” as he puts it, but they’re ultimately about bringing the best version of oneself to the people we love. The lush instrumental underscores that hope, shining warmth and light through the clouds of darker impulses. That sort of contrast is exactly what makes Still Woozy special, and it’s been his aim ever since he started writing songs as a kid in Northern California’s Bay Area. “I strive for this feeling of warmth to act as a buffer to some of those harsher feelings,” he says.

“BS” is Still Woozy’s second single of 2020, arriving in the misty wake of April’s “Window,” another luxuriant cut tinged with longing. These followed Still Woozy’s 2019 debut EP, Lately, which introduced the world to his emotional yet textured tracks. Blending acoustic sounds with delirious dabs of electronics, the EP showed off Gamsky’s affection for deftly psychedelic arrangements — his songs melt and swirl like crayons on a sidewalk in the summer.

That lighthearted, uncanny feeling is often echoed in the visuals Gamsky pairs with his songs, a trend that continues on the forthcoming video for “BS,” in which, among other trippy images, Gamsky smashes a brain with a mallet while floating in the clouds. It’s laidback and Lynchian in equal measure, which suits the beautiful contrasts at the center of his music. Watch the video for “BS” HERE.

Amber Mark – Thong Song

Today, New York based singer, songwriter and producer Amber Mark releases ‘Thong Song’, a cover of Sisqó’s turn-of-the-century R&B classic. ‘Thong Song’ is the fifth and final track in Amber’s series of covers and originals titled ‘Covered-19’ that has seen Amber regularly release new tracks entirely self-produced and recorded from her NYC flat during the lockdown alongside home-made visuals – watch the video for ‘Thong Song’ HERE.

Amber’s unique twist on the classic track stylistically follows the debut track of the series; a cover of Nirvana’s ‘Heart-Shaped Box’ that Stereogum calls “a radical reimagining”. Other tracks from the series include originals ‘1894’ and ‘Waiting (Demo)’, and most recently a cover of Eddie Kendricks’ ‘My People…Hold On’ recorded for charity in reaction to the ongoing Black Lives Matter protests around the world, which was recently added to Michelle Obama’s Spotify playlist. Amber also released a short cover of The Who’s classic track ‘The Seeker’ which earned a nod of approval from none other than Pete Townshend, who commented “I’m in shock. So cool. Thank you. You made this your own.” The series has been hugely popular, accumulating more than 7 million streams across all platforms and earning Amber over 2 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
The ‘Covered-19’ series follows recent single ‘Generous’; a woozy, bumping bedroom jam laced with strings sampled from Henry Mancini’s ‘Lujon’. BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra playlist support and streamed the track more than 1 million times. In addition, Amber is also a face of Calvin Klein’s new spring campaign. ‘Generous’ comes hot on the heels of a stellar 2019 for Amber that saw her rack up over 100 million combined streams, play Pitchfork Festival and Governor’s Ball and have singles ‘Mixer’ and ‘What If’ playlisted at BBC 1Xtra, while ‘Mixer’ was named one of NPR’s Best Songs of 2019. Following the conclusion of ‘Covered-19’ and with the world looking ahead to a brighter future, stay tuned for more new music and news from Amber later in 2020.
