H.R. Owen Bugatti will present the first public appearance of Bugatti Sur Mesure’s debut customer project at Salon Privé London. The unique Chiron Pur Sport is inspired by the heroics of 20th Century racing driver, Louis Chiron, featuring brand new exterior paint colours and a number of ultra-bespoke interior and exterior styling additions.
Translated as tailored, Bugatti’s Sur Mesure builds upon the marque’s distinguished history of coachbuilding, handcrafted interiors, paint finishes, embroidery and bodywork, gathering the collective expertise of its skilled designers and engineers to form a brand-new program to meet growing customer demand for ultra-customized designs, materials and finishes.
Louis Chiron was one of Bugatti’s most legendary racing drivers, notching up countless victories at the wheel of Bugatti racers. Just one of his memorable wins was at the 1931 the French Grand Prix, together with Achille Varzi, in a Bugatti Type 51 emblazoned with the number 32.
This number – painted entirely by hand – now proudly adorns Bugatti’s modern hyper sports car as just one of a number of custom-made elements developed especially for this car. Two new exterior colours were created to pay homage to the legendary Grand Prix racing Bugattis of the ‘20s and ‘30s.
The Bugatti Sur Mesure team also developed a new fading EB painted pattern, applied meticulously by hand, which is complemented by a multi-layer stitched EB motif on the door panels. Both required new techniques and processes to be developed by the Bugatti Sur Mesure team.
The 32 and Grand Prix motifs continue throughout the cabin, including a special centre console inlay in black anodized aluminium, with a silver hand-painted inscription. The motifs extend to the door sills, headrests and entry lights. Subtle branding distinguishing the model as a rare and unique product of the program can also be found.
Bugatti has calibrated the Chiron Pur Sport for agility, handling and driving performance. In addition to immense power; it also offers a high level of comfort and is suitable for everyday use. It is powered by an 8.0 litre W16 engine delivering 1,500 PS and 1,600 newton metres that is designed for an engine speed of up to 6,900 rpm in the agile Chiron Pur Sport. With the assistance of a 15 percent shorter transmission ratio, the Chiron Pur Sport accelerates even faster than the Chiron. The Chiron Pur Sport catapults from zero to 62mph in just 2.3 seconds, to 124mph in a mere 5.5 seconds and to 186mph in less than twelve seconds.
The Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport by Sur Mesure will be joined on the Bugatti stand at Salon Privé London by two other examples of Bugatti’s hyper sports cars; the Veyron and Chiron.
The three Bugatti models form just one small part of Salon Privé London, sister to Salon Privé Blenheim, which will make its debut in April at the Royal Hospital Chelsea. As one of the UK’s most prestigious events, eight cars will be making their global, European or UK show debut at Royal Hospital Chelsea.

Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack Foundation announced that it has awarded $1 million in scholarships for students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to 100 members of the graduating class of 2022. With Scott’s support, the Waymon Webster Scholarship Fund granted $10,000 scholarships to seniors who have reached academic excellence (averaging 3.5 or higher GPA) but have faced the all-too-common last-minute challenge of financial adversity in the second semester of their senior year. The scholarships will bring 100 students over the finish line, diploma in hand. This is the second year that Scott has supported HBCUs and represents a tenfold increase.

Currently in its eighth design generation, the Toyota Camry is also just one year shy of its 40th anniversary in America. A wide array of model choices, plus Camry’s alluring, coupe-inspired design and renowned Toyota quality and value, are a few reasons why Camry maintains leadership in the mid-size sedan category. All told, the 2023 Camry offers 18 different choices, offering a model for nearly every budget and taste. Notably, the Nightshade Edition is offered on all four-cylinder and hybrid models.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+
The Camry has been a repeat IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK recipient. This is the organization’s highest rating and one that acknowledges the standard Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ system that includes:

Extensive use of high-tensile-strength steel in the TNGA-K platform along with innovative fastening methods, including laser screw welding and advanced adhesives, give Camry its rock-solid feeling on the road. Optimally tuned MacPherson-type strut front suspension and multi-link rear suspension endow the Camry with a ride-handling balance befitting luxury vehicles (SE, XSE and TRD grades also have sport-tuned springs and shocks).
Camry engineers prioritize a quiet ride, and the current-generation model improved on that by incorporating noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) countermeasures previously found exclusively on luxury models. Extensive sound-absorbing insulation includes foam/vibration-dampening materials throughout the vehicle, along with a thicker dash silencer mat across the entire firewall section. A special vibration-damping coating is applied over a wider area of the underfloor, and noise-proofing material encompasses more surface area under the headliner.
High-Style, High-Function Cabin
The Camry’s interior melds functionality, elegant styling and impeccable fit and finish. The dash design gives the driver a sporty cockpit-type feel while treating both the driver and the front passenger to expansive outward visibility.
Surfaces throughout the cabin employ soft-touch premium materials. Interior trim in all grades gives a sophisticated, higher-tech look with linear dark, wood inlay or patterned metal, depending on the model grade. Interior color choices, depending on exterior color, include Ash, Macadamia or Black. The sport-oriented XSE grade also offers an exclusive Cockpit Red interior for a touch of exotic sports car flavor.
Exquisite stitching on the front- and rear-seat surfaces, one example of the high level of craftsmanship, is found throughout the vehicle. The XLE grade features a luxurious-looking textured herringbone seat pattern. Ventilated front seats are available on the XLE and XSE.
The Camry relays information to the driver via three available displays. A floating 7- or 9-inch central touch-screen display combines audio and navigation. Customizable features and smart phone-like touch screen icons help ensure familiar and convenient operation.
For even greater functionality, Camry also offers an available 7-inch multi-information display within the instrument cluster. Available on XLE and XSE, a 10-inch color Head-Up Display (HUD) projects vital information, including speed and turn-by-turn navigation directions, onto the lower portion of the windshield.
The Camry LE features standard air conditioning, while all other grades step up to automatic dual-zone climate control. The system specific to the hybrid versions uses an electric compressor and humidity sensor. Rear seat vents come standard on the XLE and XSE Hybrid grades and are available as a package upgrade on the LE and SE.
High Power, Efficiency and Value
The 2023 Camry offers a choice of three powertrains: 2.5-liter Dynamic Force four-cylinder, 3.5-liter V-6 and next-generation Toyota Hybrid System (THS II). The Dynamic Force 2.5-liter engine is a strong but smooth operator, yielding an impressive 203 hp at 6,600 rpm and 184 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 5,000 rpm (206 hp and 186 lb.-ft. for XSE grade, which uses a dual-outlet exhaust). Most AWD grades have 202 hp, while the Camry XSE AWD grade has 205 hp with dual-outlet exhaust.
The four-cylinder engine uses a very high compression ratio (13:1) and Toyota’s innovative D-4S fuel injection, which employs both direct injection and additional port injectors. The engine is chock-full of Toyota’s most advanced technologies, including Dual VVT-i with VVT-iE (Variable Valve Timing intelligent system by Electric motor) and laser-clad valve seats. A variable cooling system, variable oil pump and a cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system all contribute to the engine’s high thermal efficiency and outstanding fuel economy ratings. Notably, regular-grade fuel is specified for all 2023 Camry models, helping to bolster value for the customer.
V-6 Performance at a High Level
The 2023 Toyota Camry is one of the few midsize sedans to still offer a V-6 engine and this one is a gem. It is standard for the TRD and is available for the XLE and XSE grades, as well.
The 24-valve, DOHC 3.5-liter engine is equipped with the D-4S direct injection system, along with a specially-developed VVT-iW (Variable Valve Timing-intelligent Wide) variable valve timing system for the intake, with VVT-i on the exhaust. The VVT-iW system can switch the engine to the Atkinson cycle, which reduces pumping losses by delayed closing of the intake valves. Thrillerholds a modern-day record of 37 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard. It was the first album in history to spend each of its first 80 weeks in the album chart’s Top 10, a feat only reached by one other album in the nearly four decades since. On The Girl Is Mine, two men, one white and one Black, banter about the same girl. On the same album were songs like the African-rooted Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ and the rhythm and blues-based Billie Jean.
Michael set out to revolutionize how to tell a story and entertain on a grand scale through film but faced roadblocks. Despite the luscious cinematography, dramatic narrative and spectacular choreography of Billie Jean, a fledgling MTV, which was programming white rock artists almost exclusively, refused to play it. Epic persisted. Once the wall came crashing down, MTV’s ratings soared and a door was opened for a generation of African American artists. “He was MTV’s Jackie Robinson,” said cultural critic Touré.
Next, came the unforgettable short film for Beat It, which featured Michael bringing two gangs together through the power of music and dance. And then there was Thriller. Premiered at the AVCO Theatre in Los Angeles in 1983, it sold out every night for three weeks. No other video before or since has generated such excitement and has such a hold on our attention, such that 40 years later we all share it as a collective memory and it remains the only music video to be inducted into the elite National Film Registry by the Library of Congress.
