FIRST NATIONWIDE HEADLINE TOUR CONFIRMED FOR SPRING 2022

PRESS ASSETS HERE

Breakthrough singer, songwriter and musician Joy Oladokun’s debut Spotify Singles session is out today. Listen/share HERE. Recorded at Sound Stage Studios in Nashville, the release includes a new rendition of Oladokun’s “sunday” as well as a version of Bonnie Raitt’s classic “I Can’t Make You Love Me” with special guest Jason Isbell on guitar.

Reflecting on the project, Oladokun shares, “I’ve been a rabid consumer of Spotify Singles since their inception. Being asked to do one was a dream come true and I wanted to bring in the best crew. I asked Jason Isbell to play guitar on the Bonnie Raitt cover and he absolutely smashed the energy and emotion of what I was trying to do. So excited to have these out in the world.”

The release adds to a landmark year for Oladokun, whose major label debut album, in defense of my own happiness, is out now via Amigo Records/Verve Forecast/Republic Records. Moreover, Oladokun released a special deluxe edition, in defense of my own happiness (complete), this past July which includes all 14 tracks from her major-label debut, ten additional songs from her self-released 2020 record, in defense of my own happiness (the beginnings), and one new track, “judas.”

In celebration of the new music, Oladokun will embark on her first ever headline tour next spring with newly confirmed shows at Austin’s Antone’s, Dallas’ Club Dada, Los Angeles’ Troubadour, San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall, Seattle’s Neumos, Denver’s Marquis Theater, Minneapolis’ Fine Line, Chicago’s Lincoln Hall, New York’s Bowery Ballroom, Washington, DC’s Union Stage, Atlanta’s Terminal West and Nashville’s The Basement East among several others. See below for complete itinerary. Tickets for the tour are on-sale now, full details can be found at here.

Within defense of my own happiness, Oladokun is forging her own path, sharing the unique perspective she’s gained from living in today’s world as a black, queer woman and first-generation child of Nigerian immigrants. Born in Arizona and now living in Nashville, her musical exploration began at age ten when she was inspired to learn guitar after seeing a video of Tracy Chapman—the first time she’d ever seen a black woman play the instrument.

Recently named one of the “Best Albums of 2021 So Far” by Rolling Stone and Variety, and one of Billboard’s “Best Albums by LGBTQ Artists of 2021 So Far,” in defense of my own happiness features special collaborations with Maren Morris, Jensen McRae and Penny & Sparrow and continues to receive widespread critical praise:

“Oladokun’s message is not only timely, but essential.”—them.

“Open about her queerness, mental health, and her mission to be intentional with the music she creates, Oladokun…is making a name for herself in Nashville and beyond.”—uDiscover Music

Oladokun has continued to receive widespread attention in the past year. KIANA LEDÉ – THIS CHRISTMAS

KIANA LEDÉ OFFICIALLY RELEASES “THIS CHRISTMAS” ON ALL STREAMING PLATFORMS

LISTEN HERE

Ready to heat up the holidays, platinum-selling Phoenix-born and Los Angeles-based artist Kiana Ledé officially releases her cover of the classic “This Christmas” at all streaming platforms via The Heavy Group/Republic Records today.
Listen to “This Christmas”: HERE

Originally unveiled as an Amazon Originals Exclusive in 2020, she has unwrapped it on every streaming platform now. Kiana brings her own sense of sultry soul and simmering spirit to the holiday classic, adding another dimension to the standard and giving it new life.

Kiana’s voice continues to resound throughout the culture. She teamed up with multiplatinum R&B phenomenon Queen Naija for “I’m Her,” clocking millions of streams. Additionally, she lent her smooth vocals to Kitty Ca$h’s latest banger “Just Fine.”

Not to mention, her most recent single “Ur Best Friend” [feat. Kehlani] has amassed over 26 million streams. HYPEBAE described it as “steamy, and UPROXX observed, “Plenty of R&B acts came out to impress last year with their respective projects despite the pandemic making it anything but a normal year. Two artists who did this are Kiana Ledé and Kehlani.” Meanwhile, Revolt raved, “the two fused their R&B talents together effortlessly in the new track about giving into temptation.”

It all paves the way for new music coming soon. She’s kept busy this year with collaborations with G-EAZY, THEY., Niko WaltersD-Nice, and Femme It Forward, flexing her dynamic diversity.

Kiana Ledé is way more than an R&B singer. Her poetic lyrics (set to an alluring blend of early classic R&B, soul, pop, hip-hop, and singer/songwriter genre) and relatability have led to notable success, including the platinum-certified “EX” from 2018’s breakout Selfless EP, and hits like “Mad At Me” and “Chocolate” feat. Ari Lennox and achieved over 1 billion streams globally.

KIKI, her self-described “coming of age” debut album, bowed in the Top 5 of various charts — the Billboard Top R&B Albums Chart, Apple Music R&B/Soul Albums Chart and iTunes R&B/Soul Albums Chart — as well as the Top 10 of the Apple Music Overall Albums Chart. The album has impressively gained over 50 million streams in addition to industry praise from ELLEBillboardHighsnobietyVIBE and many more.

Ledé grew up in South Phoenix, Arizona as a self-described “Black, Mexican, and Native American girl who participated in pageants.” At the core of her music is honesty, which will continue to make her a standout artist.

THE STANDARD – HALLOWEEN PARTY NYC

High Line’s Return of the Boom Boom Halloween Party

Last night Halloween took over The Standard, High Line with the return of the long-loved Boom Boom Halloween Party. Capping off a trifecta of fetes in the iconic “Boom,” preceded by the now legendary Madonna Pride Party and the annual Met Gala After Party hosted by Kacey Musgraves, The Standard’s loyal tribe of creatives, designers, influencers, artists and friends returned to enjoy the cherished tradition once again in the usual parade of over-the-top costumes.

The night kicked off with music by the evening’s DJ, Mazurbate, who set the soundtrack for Boom in a dedication to New York City and the dying essence of glamour to bring back what he would imagine a modern Studio 54 would sound and feel like for one night while a stream of guests including musicians Lorde, Anitta and Ava Max, model Anok Yai, designers Prabal Gurung, Maisie Willen and Laquan Smith, Ru Paul’s Drag Race Season 10 and 11 Winners Aquaria and Yvie Oddly and Whitney Peak and all dressed in their Halloween’s best costumes and gathered on the dance floor to toast the return of the property’s famed party.

In true Boom Boom Halloween fashion the party would not be complete without a twist and this year not one, but two surprise performances by 90’s superstars CeCe Peniston and Robin S made the night one to remember. Taking to the DJ booth, the artists performed live and graced the crowd with their iconic hit songs including Finally and We Got a Love Thang (CeCe Peniston) and Show Me Love (Robin S).

Ingrid Michaelson – Songs For The Season

Patron saint of charming Christmas tunes, Ingrid Michaelson releases her cheerful original duet “Merry Christmas, Happy New Year (Feat. Zooey Deschanel).” Alongside the release, she shares an undeniably adorable stop motion visual featuring a bundled-up rabbit spreading holiday joy. The track is off her upcoming album Ingrid Michaelson’s Songs For The Season – Deluxe Edition, out on November 5th.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year (Feat. Zooey Deschanel) is soon to be a catchy Christmas classic, with the two beloved vocalists sharing their favorite things about the season over bright jingling bells. The visuals, created by Andrea Love and author/illustrator Phoebe Wahl, capture the holiday spirit through stop motion fuzzy woodland critters.

Ingrid says, “I don’t think you’ll meet someone who loves Christmas more than I do, and it is the same thing for Christmas music. I knew I wanted to put out a deluxe album even before I put out the original album! There’s just too much music to choose from. I’m incredibly honored that another self-proclaimed Christmas lover, Zooey Deschanel, is joining me on a new original, “Merry Christmas, Happy New Year!” When she said yes (over Twitter) it was truly an early Christmas gift!”

Zooey on the track, It was a joy and an honor to co-write and sing this song with Ingrid! We hope it brings joy to everyone who listens.

Listen & Watch Merry Christmas, Happy New Year (Feat. Zooey Deschanel)

Tickets are on sale for Ingrid’s 15th Annual Holiday Hop at New York City’s Webster Hall. The EMMY Award-nominated and multi-platinum-certified New York singer/songwriter will take the stage Sunday, December 5th and perform tracks off of her upcoming holiday album Ingrid Michaelson’s Songs For The Season – Deluxe Edition’ along with other festive tunes. After last year’s 14th Annual Holiday Hop: Virtual Edition, Ingrid is thrilled to be back in front of fans  performing beloved holiday renditions.

Ingrid Michaelson’s Songs For The Season’ was originally released in October 2018, and the project’s new deluxe edition will debut with five new tracks. Full tracklist below.

Ingrid explains, When I released my first Christmas album in 2018 I already knew there would one day be a deluxe. And here we are! I have added 3 classics and one original (with Zooey Deschanel) to create an even greater festive experience! It was very important to me to keep everything in that vintage/nostalgic world. Zooey’s voice is just perfect for that sound. Warm and comforting.

Questlove × The Balvenie

Quest for Craft, a new digital series created by Questlove in partnership with The Balvenie Single Malt Scotch Whisky, debuts today. The series explores the convergence of craft and creativity, and in episode one, Questlove is joined by Saturday Night Live comedian Michael Che to explore the theme of chaos and discuss how unpredictability and disorder play a role in their respective crafts.

You can watch the full first episode on The Balvenie’s YouTube page

Questlove shares his thoughts on the debut episode, saying “What is chaos? When we say the word, we think of what’s unregulated, uncontrollable, surprising. Most artists and craftspeople say that they want to avoid it. But should they? In this episode, I talk to the Saturday Night Live co-head writer and stand-up comedian Michael Che, and the two of us look at the ways in which chaos can be a fuel for creativity.”

The Balvenie Single Malt Scotch Whisky has been perfecting the craft of whisky making for nearly 130 years, remaining fascinated by the creative processes and deep intrinsic values that elevate something from great to exceptional.

“I share a synergistic passion with The Balvenie on the importance of inspiration, passion and dedication to creativity and the making process. Our partnership is founded on an exploration into creative minds that invest their time, focus, and soul and into creating something singular and distinctive,” said Questlove. “Quest for Craft is about the pursuit of ultimate craftsmanship. In each episode, I dive deep into conversation with creatives who I have admired for their unique perspective, process, and productivity.”

Season One of Quest for Craft:

  • Ep. 1 Oct 28th – Michael Che – Questlove and Michael Che chat about how to infuse purposeful levels of chaos into their careers, how it can push you to a new level of creativity and how it can be a key factor in honing your craft.
  • Ep. 2 Nov 11th – Jimmy Jam – Questlove and Jimmy Jam connect on meeting their core creative partners at a young age, and chat about how instrumental their creative communities have been in helping them become the artists they are today.
  • Ep. 3 Nov 25th – Patti Smith – Questlove and Patti Smith delve into the topic of time as Patti reflects upon her time with Electric Lady Studios, from attending the opening party to going on to record many of her albums at the legendary studio.
  • Ep. 4 Dec 9th – Malcolm Gladwell – Questlove and Malcolm Gladwell cover the topic of practice and Malcolm shares the true meaning of his 10,000 hours theory, how it’s been misunderstood in the past and how getting better at your craft can involve going beyond your mastery to take on new challenges.

Boston-based band Cold Collective announce their upcoming album, Weathervane, out December 3 via Rise Records.

Words can’t express how excited we are to finally show you all this album that we started many years ago with our brother Tim,” Cold Collective share in a statement. “While the process was both technically and emotionally harder than any of us bargained for, we couldn’t be prouder of the results. Tim took a staggering number of songs with him when he left us. We present to you these 16, as selected by Tim’s nearest and dearest.”

“Tim’s music is a gift,” Tim’s father Terry Landers shares. “We love that more of his heart and work are being shared through this release.”

3Breezy via Capitol Records for use by 360 Magazine

3Breezy – Can’t FWU

After reeling in tens of millions of streams and earning acclaim from American Songwriter, FLAUNT Magazine, and more, rising Camden, New Jersey, R&B/hip-hop artist 3Breezy unveils a new single and music video entitled “Can’t FWU,” out now on Capitol Records. Listen HERE.

On the track, he leans into thumping drums and smooth guitar with a melodic cadence. Pouring his heart out about a doomed relationship, he croons the hook, “I can’t fuck with you,” before warning, “Take a look at where ya at, I told you in the end Breezy gonna have the last laugh.” Directed by AROD2UP, the accompanying visual brings the story to life as it pulls no punches in its depiction of a rough breakup with a light at the end of the tunnel when our hero moves on.

It stands out as the follow-up to his recent single “Self Love.” Inciting critical acclaim right out of the gate, American Songwriter hailed it as “technically elegant and sonically moving” and promised it “sets the bar high for Breezy’s upcoming music.” It also garnered looks from Imprint, Hip Hop XXIV, and more. However, FLAUNT summed Breezy up best, christening him “Your new favorite R&B/hip-hop artist.”

The single paves the way for Breezy’s new project Catch A Breeze, which is available for pre-order and is set to be released on November 12. The album caps off an incredible journey from Breezy who, in unprecedented fashion, changed plans from being a veterinary technician to producing and releasing his own songs. Now, he wants everybody to Catch A Breeze.

Check out the full tracklisting below!

3Breezy will also be releasing a documentary in November, giving us an inside where he comes from, family in his life, and upcoming music.

“Self Love” followed on the heels of his June video for “Message to Her,” which was itself a tender, introspective R&B ballad inspired by a DM from a fan who was in a tough place. The record, self-released by Breezy last November, already has 3.5 million plays and, overall, in his short journey he’s amassed nearly 30 million streams in the U.S. alone. Breezy kicked off his career in October 2020, quickly issuing a number of singles and his debut mixtape, Murda She Wrote, captivating audiences with his easy knack for storytelling and deep sincerity.

As Breezy prepares his new project, Catch a Breeze, he’s only just beginning to fully explore this sensitive side of himself, crooning hazy confessionals and uplifting anthems over modern production. Breezy’s empathy runs deep, he grew up in a rough part of Jersey, surrounded by sisters and aunts who helped him learn how to listen, and how to be strong for others. Having good shoulders to lean on has led to Breezy becoming just that for his listeners. Though he has only been making music for about a year, songs like “Self Love” and “Message to Her” continue to prove he’s a bonafide hitmaker capable of intensely personal songcraft.
