NEW ALBUM COMING SOON

Continuing to electrify the culture, platinum-selling Phoenix native and Los Angeles-based artist Kiana Led unveils the music video for her buzzing single Ur Best Friend with Kehlani via The Heavy Group/Republic Records today. GRAMMY Award-nominated multiplatinum R&B femme fatale Kehlani even directed the red-hot video herself, which features an appearance by Vic Mensa. You have to see it to believe it

Listen to Ur Best Friend: HERE

Right out of the gate, Ur Best Friend amassed nearly 2 million worldwide streams to date. In addition to plugs by HYPEBAE and more, UPROXX raved, Kiana and Kehlani bring their talents together. HotNewHipHop rated the song very hot and predicted it’s poised to climb the charts. SoulBounce dubbed it a sneaky link anthem for Summer 2021, and Revolt praised how they fuse their R&B talents together effortlessly in the new track about giving into temptation.

On the track, a throwback beat simmers in the background with skittering cymbals, airy keys, and head-nodding bass. Kiana’s voice wraps around this thick soul smoke as Kehlani counters with a show stopping turn of her own. Together, these two R&B femme fatales turn up with a scorching and sizzling collaboration punctuated by raw soul. Be on the lookout for the premiere of the music video.

It paves the way for her next album coming very soon. She’s kept busy this year with collaborations with G-EAZY, THEY., Niko Walters, D-Nice, and Femme It Forward, flexing her dynamic diversity.

It all sets the stage for the release of Kiana’s new album this fall!

ABOUT KIANA LED

Kiana Led is way more than an R&B singer. Her poetic lyrics (set to an alluring blend of early classic R&B, soul, pop, hip-hop, and singer/songwriter genre) and relatability have led to notable success, including the platinum-certified EX from 2018’s breakout Selfless EP, and hits like Mad At Me and Chocolate feat. Ari Lennox and achieved nearly 2 billion streams globally.

KIKI, her self-described coming of age debut album, bowed in the Top 5 of various charts, the Billboard Top R&B Albums Chart, Apple Music R&B/Soul Albums Chart, and iTunes R&B/Soul Albums Chart, as well as the Top 10 of the Apple Music Overall Albums Chart. The album has impressively gained over 440 million streams in addition to industry praise from ELLE, Billboard, Highsnobiety, VIBE and many more.

TOBi Off The Drugs album cover fro Sarah Weinstein Dennison, RCA Records for use by 360 Magazine

TOBi × Mick Jenkins – Off The Drugs

Winner of the 2021 Juno Award for Best Rap Recording of the Year for his project Elements, Vol. 1, Canada-raised/Nigeria-born TOBi and Mick Jenkins today release an old school groove “Off The Drugs” via Same Plate/RCA Records.

Listen/watch the lyric video here.

Speaking on the inspiration behind the song, TOBi says, “When I smoke, I see things clearer and I’m way more aware. So I’m intentional about how I use it. I think more money should go into researching things like cannabis and mushrooms for their healing properties. Just the way I look at it, so many things are actually drugs—alcohol, gambling, even social media cuz it affects brain chemistry, but all that shit is legal. Whereas things that can legitimately heal if properly understood and done correctly are stigmatized, it’s wild. Mick came thru and bodied the verse as he should, and we’ve got a video on the way too. I just wanna live life to the fullest and enjoy this while it lasts. Life to me is a good trip if you let it be.”

The slow burning track follows a handful of TOBi’s singles  “Come As You Are” featuring Baby Rose and “Don’t Touch!” which Complex heralded for its “smooth production…elevating (TOBi’s) empowered musings on the hairy side of the Black experience to new heights.”

His re-working of track “Family Matters” with Flo Milli was described as a “dynamic” and “impassioned reboot” (Atwood) and Highsnobiety declared it a “formidable pairing.”

ABOUT TOBi

TOBi released his music project ELEMENTS, Vol. 1 in fall 2020, heralded by the critics, combining hip-hop, R&B, soul, grime & Afrobeats. The project features some of TOBi’s favorite producers & musicians worldwide and embodies the sounds and music that have influenced his artistry. TOBi was voted by Complex Magazine as “a top artist to watch” and has received critical praise from Interview MagazinePitchfork, Vogue, Teen Vogue, L’Officiel, Paper, Billboard, Rolling Stone, Clash, OkayAfrica, Flaunt, Exclaim!, Refinery29, Essential Homme, COLORS, and many more. The rising star announced his partnership with Same Plate Entertainment/RCA Records last year and has enjoyed over 49 million streams globally. Prior to ELEMENTS, TOBi released his debut album STILL in May 2019 followed by a deluxe edition, exploring themes of vulnerability, post traumatic growth, self-reflection and masculinity in his time emigrating from Nigeria to Canada. STILL’s release was followed by two new singles “Holiday” produced by !llmind, “Paid,” the “City Blues Remix” featuring The Game, the “180 Remix” featuring Kemba and the “24” remix featuring all Torontonians SHAD, Haviah Mighty, Jazz Cartier and Ejji Smith.

TOBi has cited the work of Gil Scott-Heron, Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar, Marvin Gaye, Eartha Kitt, Florence and the Machine, and Andre 3000 as some of the artists who have inspired his work, particularly his lyrics.

GoldLink – HARAM!

Today, GoldLink, one of the most innovative artists in hip-hop, releases his third studio album, HARAM!, via Squaaash Club/RCA Records. Click here to listen.

Containing 15 tracks with features by Flo MilliNLE ChoppaSantigoldBibi BourellyRich The Kid, emerging international act Fire! and more, HARAM! represents the destruction and rebuilding of a new GoldLink, yet stays true to his lyrical prowess. Joe Perez (Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Pusha T) helmed the creative direction for the album.

Continuing to redefine what a “rap star” is meant to be, HARAM! is GoldLink’s most personal, genius, adventurous and riskiest piece of work to date. Filled with unfiltered braggadocios raps, challenging flows – yet feels more specific, like a biopic – the album is one that poses questions rather than give answers. The metaphoric use of the harsh, gritty telephone effect against his iconic cadence signifies that GoldLink is purposefully imperfect; he doesn’t want to be perfect. With HARAM!, GoldLink’s quest is to challenge the idea of rap titles in art in his pursuit to becoming a musical deity.

This Saturday (6/19), GoldLink will be performing during Luminosity Gaming’s “Luminosity Live” event, presented by F9. Catch him on Twitch at 10pm EST on the Luminosity Twitch Channel.

HARAM! Track list:

About GoldLink:

Where the intersections of the DMV (DC, Maryland and Virginia) collide, GoldLink is a direct product. Washington, D.C., and the broader DMV area, have long been treated like a musical Rubik’s cube. There are bursting, technicolor patches of musical brilliance, but the component parts never line up in a way that made sense to those on the outside. GoldLink is not interested in spelling out all the nuances of his hometown; what he does aim to do is synthesize his environment’s litany of influences and inspirations into something unique, singular, and all together his own.

With his RIAA-certified Gold debut studio album At What Cost (Squaaash Club/RCA) – helmed by the monstrous single “Crew” – released in March 2017, he’s done just that. By merging the sensibilities of go-go with the African diaspora, he’s done what hip-hop has done from its inception: repurpose what’s available into something magical.

The success of At What Cost and 4x Platinum single “Crew” saw GoldLink achieve a number of career firsts — from his Grammy nomination for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration to the iHeartMedia Music Awards nomination for Best New Hip-Hop Artist to his BET Awards nomination for Best New Artist. Adding to his accomplishments was a Grammy Nomination for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration the following year with “Like I Do” with Christina Aguilera.

Following up in 2019 with Diaspora, GoldLink continued to show his sonic range and influences as shown on singles “Zulu Screams” ft. Maleek Berry & Bibi Bourelly, and “Joke Ting” ft. Ari Pensmith. The album was recognized by Pitchfork as “the best music of his career,” and Highsnobiety declared “GoldLink can conceive of and execute his ideas better than most anyone in hip-hop today.” Diaspora made several Best Albums of The Year lists including Complex, UpRoxx, Hot New Hip Hop and more, while “Zulu Screams” made The New York Times “54 Best Songs of 2019” list, calling it “a supremely catchy international collaboration.”

AJ Mitchell – Stop

AJ MITCHELL CONTINUES TO CEMENT HIS RISE WITH ELECTRIC NEW SINGLE “STOP.”

LYRIC VIDEO OUT TODAY, OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO COMING SOON.

“STOP” CONTINUES TO IGNITE MAJOR BUZZ FOR DEBUT ALBUM “SKYVIEW,” OUT THIS YEAR.

“’Stop’ promises to be the sultry, effervescent, unforgettable anthem of this summer.” – 360 Magazine

Mitchell’s forthcoming debut, “Skyview,” seems likely to cement his stardom.– Variety Magazine

Further building out an immersive sonic world, gold-certified pop phenom AJ Mitchell shares a new single entitled “STOP” today. Get it HERE via Vol 1./Epic RecordsThe creative official lyric video is available at 12 pm EST today HERE. The song is the next chapter to be unveiled from his anxiously awaited full-length debut album, “Skyview,” due out this year and executive produced by Mike Dean

The track pairs a thumping bass line and flurry of funk guitar with a showstopping vocal performance. He delivers charismatic verses before igniting the instantly unshakable hook, “I don’t wanna stop, baby it’s our time.

“STOP” continues the journey that was set in CAMERAS ON,” released late last month. The conceptual lyric video shared today picks up where “CAMERAS ON” left off. While “CAMERAS ON depicts the story of AJ dealing with the darker sides of fame and his previous experiences with the content collective Team 10, the new lyric video finds him walking away from the cameras to the stage, depicting his passion and dedication to the music and what truly matters.  Stay tuned for the official music video, set to premiere soon.

With all of the songs releases from Skyview” thus far, we’ve seen AJ Mitchell truly coming into his own, showcasing his knack for great storytelling.

“When you listen to the album, I want you to feel nostalgic,” AJ says. “It really takes me home. At the same time, I want you to know more about who I am. Talking to the camera is unnatural for me. The best way for everybody to understand me is through my songs. I’m still just a kid who lives his life through music. There’s not a single day I don’t think about it or don’t want to run to my guitar, my piano, or my notepad and start writing.”

Since emerging in 2018, AJ Mitchell has consistently asserted himself as pop’s most dynamic new leading man. Averaging over 7 million monthly listeners on Spotify, he impressively leaped past the 1-billion stream mark within three years. In addition to being named a Vevo LIFT artist and MTV Push artist, Variety championed him on its “Young Hollywood” 2020 list. Beyond acclaim from BillboardIdolatorHighsnobiety, and Seventeen, he delivered show-stopping performances at the MTV VMAs and on The Today Show and Good Day New York. In 2019, his Slow Dance” EP yielded the gold-selling title track “Slow Dance” [feat. Ava Max]. Including the latter, he has logged four songs on the Top 40 at Pop Radio thus far. He’s also become  a trusted collaborator, recently joining forces with Cheat Codes for “Hate You + Love You.” Throughout 2020 he also collaborated with names like Elle Henderson, Steve Aoki, Captain Cuts, and more. Over the past year, he assembled his full-length debut Skyview” with the legendary Mike Dean as Executive Producer. Now, the cameras are on, and AJ Mitchell is ready to shine in 2021.

Kiana Ledé – KIKI

By Cassandra Yany

Platinum-selling artist Kiana Ledé released seven brand new songs Friday to expand her critically acclaimed album KIKI. These tracks help the Phoenix-born and LA-based singer to show more seduction, spirit and soul than she has before.

The deluxe version includes the single “Only Fan” featuring Jacquees, on which lustful verses, airy guitar and a steady beat create a throwback R&B energy. The two artists sing back and forth as Jacquees’ falsetto reaches a hypnotic peak. The album now contains a bonus track, “Youth” featuring GRAMMY Award-winning blues rock artist Gary Clark Jr., who brings smooth vocals and a head-bobbing riff to the song.

KIKI was first released on April 3 and earned a spot in the Top 5 of the Billboard Top R&B Albums Chart, Top 5 of the Apple Music R&B/ Soul Albums Chart, Top 5 of the iTunes R&B/ Soul Albums Chart and Top 10 of the Apple Music Overall Albums Chart. It has garnered over 50 million streams and received praise from notable outlets such as ELLE, Billboard, Highsnobiety, Vibe and more.

Recently, Kiana Ledé teamed up with Usher for “This Day” from the Netflix original film Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey.

About Kiana Ledé

Just who is Kiana Ledé? On the one hand, you know her as a fierce and fiery force in R&B responsible for bangers such as the platinum-certified “EX,” “Mad At Me” and “Chocolate” feat. Ari Lennox and has received over 1 billion streams globally and praise from Complex, Vibe, Billboard, ROLLACOASTER Magazine and more. But, who is she? “KIKI,” she answers. On her aptly titled full-length debut, she reveals every side of herself: the vulnerability, the vitality, the anger, the lust, the loyalty, the joy, the darkness, and the truth as evinced on song.

Long before all of this, the songstress “from South Phoenix with Black, Mexican, Native American, and White ancestry” grew up between divorced parents. She played classical instruments and competed in pageants—but popped wheelies on dirt bikes and got under the hood to fix a car or two. Eventually, an adventurous spirit carried her from Arizona to Los Angeles where she began a journey that comes full circle in 2020.

Deluxe Album Tracklisting (Previously Unreleased)

  1. Ladylike
  2. Chocolate (LoFi Remix) [feat. Ari Lennox]
  3. Must Be Mine [feat. Ant Clemons]

EarthGang Reveals Top Down Video

Atlanta duo EarthGang continues to push the creative boundaries with its visual deliveries. The pair premiered the video for the track “Top Down” on Adult Swim early Sunday morning, featuring Olu and WowGr8 in puppet form, driving through the streets of Atlanta, visiting strip clubs, and diving under the sea to canoodle mermaids. EarthGang partnered up with long time collaborators Chad Tennies and Mac Grant for this video, the same creatives behind the “Night at The Museum” themed “Up” (WATCH HERE). Start your week off right with the “Top Down” video.

WATCH “TOP DOWN” BY EARTHGANG HERE.

About EarthGang

Hailing from Atlanta, GA, EarthGang’s Olu and WowGr8 are the GRAMMY Award-nominated, Platinum-selling pair who embody the best of the new generation in music — and plenty of critics and fans alike have taken note. Marrying lean, sharp-eyed lyricism with Southern-fried soul, every song arrives fully formed, hitting hard and landing jokes while also delving deep into political issues. Signed to J. Cole’s Interscope imprint, Dreamville, EarthGang first hit a stride with a 3-EP project inspired by “The Wiz;” Rags (Scarecrow), Robots (Tinman) and Royalty (the lion). The music saw the duo tour the globe relentlessly supporting J. Cole, Young Thug, Billie Eilish, Mac Miller, Jaden Smith, and more.

In 2019, EarthGang continued their dominance by contributing to the year’s best hip-hop compilation in Revenge of The Dreamers III — which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 charts is RIAA Platinum certified. It shined a spotlight on the pair as they went into the release of their debut major-label album, Mirrorland. The fourteen-track album debuted in the Top 40s of the Billboard 200 charts and #20 in the Rap Albums charts. Featuring special guests Young Thug, T-Pain, Kehlani, Arin Ray, and more — Mirrorland has cemented EarthGang as one of music’s most dynamic forces. Bursting with energy and having garnered a cult-like live following, the ATLiens have been critically praised by the likes of Pitchfork, Hypebeast, Highsnobiety,  Hot New Hip Hop, Consequence of Sound, Uproxx, Pigeons & Planes and more. Stretching beyond the “indie hip-hop” label they’ve been brandished with, EarthGang is ready to reach a wider audience with slick-sharp lyrics that cut through the hazy blur of ratchet rap and an avid interest in never settling, or resting on their laurels.

The performance will come ahead of the BET Awards, in which the pair are nominated for “Best Group” alongside Chloe x Halle, Migos, and more (Sunday, 8 PM ET on BET).
