Alec King – Everything’s Backwards

ALEC KING RELEASES DEBUT ALBUM EVERYTHING’S BACKWARDS TODAY
FEATURING GUESTS GNASH, SKIZZY MARS & MORE

After a year of wild bangers and insane videos filled with cameos by cartoons, puppies and adult film starlets, Los Angeles-based artist Alec King releases his anxiously awaited full-length debut album EVERYTHING’S BACKWARDS via The Heavy Group/Republic Records.

Listen to EVERYTHING’S BACKWARDS: HERE

He initially teased the record with “Fuck Wow Holy Shit” and its unbelievable accompanying music video. However, the 15-track opus proves why he’s the most interesting man in rap. He oozes Denver pride and locks bars with Skizzy Mars on 303-905-5535,” and he also knows how to lull you into a singalong with his new single “Numb & Nervous” feat. gnash.

Between the confessions of “Innocent In A Sense” and plea to “Plz Stop Stalkin Me,” he even gets way more intimate than expected during the ironically titled finale “The Intro.”

The album follows the releases of “Weekends,” “Way Up” and “Dangerous,” which received heavy radio support in his hometown of Denver and over 2 million streams in a few months. At the end of last year, Alec King went on his debut US tour with diva on the rise, KianaLedé. He performed to sold out venues, including Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Washington DC and more, winning the crowd over with his infectious charm, incredible stage presence and catchy songs.

Is there any line this guy won’t cross? Alec King is the kind of dude who rips bars about Wisconsin and god-awful ex-girlfriends with the same passion. He considers Curb Your Enthusiasm his “Torah.” He jumps into bathtubs with Porn Stars in music videos that he directs himself. He even went so far as to name his official debut EP, Greatest Hits, Vol. 1, and its successor, Greatest Hits, Vol. 2 (he backed up the latter with some heat). On the ‘gram, you’re just as likely to catch him in the shower as you are to catch him coloring with sidewalk chalk. This sort of personality endeared him to both fans and peers alike. Posting up 10 million-plus streams under-the-radar and attracting acclaim from Dancing Astronaut, he has collaborated with legends such as Biz Markie and modern stars a la Rich The Kid and Kiana Ledé. Not to mention, he did all of this D.I.Y. primarily relying on an in-house team. In 2020, he floods the game with a series of singles and more surprises.

EVERYTHING’S BACKWARDS TRACKLISTING:

We are so incredibly excited to finally release this album and give our fans tons more music and what we believe is our best body of work yet.”

It all started as a garage band using GarageBand. Since their teenage years, Bryce Savage and Cameron Wales have made music with the intent of providing the feeling once felt when they first heard their favorite artists. It’s a passion which helped translate into billions of streams under their collective group name of NEFFEX. Joy Denalane – Be Here In The Morning

Today the R&B songstress Joy Denalane aka Germany’s Queen of Soul shares her video for Be Here In The Morning (feat. CS Armstrong) via Motown Records. The video was directed by Henrik Alm and made its broadcast premiere on BET Soul. Watch here. The track is off Joy’s debut U.S. album LET YOURSELF BE LOVED. Listen here.

“The song is about a relationship that’s in a good state, but maybe there is a moment where the partners tell each other that if you don’t see me for who I am we’re going to stumble into a problem,” says Joy Denalane. “Honor me for what and love me for who I am and if you do that then I’m gonna be there in the morning.”

“Be Here In The Morning” was created together with C. S. Armstrong. The Texan enchants the audience with a voice that many associate with the early Motown years. Be Here In The Morning is showcasing the vocal perfection of these two artists: in harmony with Joy Denalane they create a complex, soulful love duet about soulmates, consideration and tenderness. “Be Here In The Morning” captures a moment just before sunrise and lets another beautiful facet of love shine through on the album.

With LET YOURSELF BE LOVED Joy is making her definitive soul statement. The Motown album is in equal parts self-assertion, genealogy and homage to the great classics of the genre. A musical masterpiece where Denalane confidently brings together all the strands of her previous work. Nevertheless, she is not interested in vintage simulations of old soul recordings. She is driven by showing her musical identity. The album includes her singles I Believe (Feat. BJ The Chicago Kid), I Gotta Know, and Top Of My Love. Recently Joy performed her track Be Here In The Morning (Feat. CS Armstrong) on COLORS.

Released on July 10, the record-shattering posthumous album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Also, it scored the biggest streaming week of 2020 eclipsing The Weeknd’s After HoursLegends Never Die makes history as the most successful posthumous debut since Notorious B.I.G.’s Life After Death (690K) and Tupac’s R U Still Down (549K) in 1997.

BLACKPINK – Debut Album

South Korean superstar quartet BLACKPINK has announced an October 2nd release date for their massively anticipated debut album. Set for release via YG Entertainment/Interscope Records, BLACKPINK’s first full-length studio effort will feature “How You Like That” — a trap-pop anthem that surpassed a staggering 100 million streams on Spotify in under a month. Merch bundles for the album available now at BLACKPINK’s website.

Next month, BLACKPINK will share the second single from their debut album. As the group revealed last week, the single will include a surprise feature.

Released on June 26th, “How You Like That” debuted at #33 on the Billboard Hot 100, making BLACKPINK the K-pop act with the second-highest number of Hot 100 entries in chart history. The song also shot to #1 on the iTunes charts in the U.S. and 66 other countries (spending four consecutive days at #1 worldwide), and peaked at #2 on Spotify’s Global Top 50 (reaching the #8 spot in the U.S.).

LISTEN TO “HOW YOU LIKE THAT” HERE.

Meanwhile, the mind-blowing visual for “How You Like That” became the fastest video in YouTube history to cross 10 million likes, as well as the fastest video to amass 150 million views. It also shattered the YouTube record for most views within the first 24 hours (86.3 million), and set an all-time record for the biggest YouTube premiere (with over 1.6 million peak concurrent viewers). Check out the video HERE.

ABOUT BLACKPINK:

Since first bursting onto the scene in 2016, BLACKPINK has redefined the possibilities of K-pop, transcending all categorization and ascending to global stardom. With their unstoppably catchy single “DDU-DU DDU-DU,” the South Korean quartet broke the record for the highest-charting Billboard Hot 100 debut by an all-female K-pop act, while its head-turning video surpassed 10 million views in just six hours and racked up 36.2 million views in one day.

Discovered by YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK is comprised of JISOO, JENNIE, LISA, and ROSÉ: four immensely charismatic vocalists, dancers, and burgeoning fashion icons. Released in 2016, their debut “SQUARE ONE” quickly proved their crossover power; in 2018, “SQUARE UP” climbed to #40 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the Billboard World Albums chart. Several months after “SQUARE UP” hit the charts, YG Entertainment and Interscope Records announced a global partnership for BLACKPINK, paving the way for the group’s international breakthrough. With their EP Kill This Love arriving in April 2019, BLACKPINK further boosted their popularity by successfully completing a world tour and becoming the first K-pop girl group to perform at Coachella, the largest music festival in the U.S.
