DOJA CAT – ANOTHER FIRST

Global superstar Doja Cat snags another “first” – this time becoming the first rapper to have 3 records in the Top 10 at Top 40 radio this week. She also becomes the 2nd artist ever to achieve this Top 10 trifecta. “You Right” ft. The Weeknd lands at #6, followed by her unstoppable smash “Kiss Me More” ft. SZA at #7 and “Need To Know” breaks in at #10. This historic feat is unprecedented for a rapper and is just the latest in a string of massive accomplishments for Doja since Planet Her exploded into the world in June.

Doja Cat was recently celebrated for her star turning hosting debut and breathtaking performance at the MTV VMA’s followed by her incredible ACL debut.

About Doja Cat:

3-time GRAMMY nominee Doja Cat made her first upload to Soundcloud in 2013 at just 16-years-old. Having grown up in and around the LA area, she developed a knack for music by studying piano and dance as a kid and listening to the likes of Busta Rhymes, Erykah Badu, Nicki Minaj, Drake, and more. Soon, she went from obsessing over Catwoman (the Halle Berry version) to crate digging on YouTube. The budding talent taught herself Logic and how to compose on a midi controller. Signed to Kemosabe/RCA in 2014, she released her Purrr! EP and followed that with her debut album Amala in spring 2018but it was her August 2018 release of “Mooo!” which catapulted her into the mainstream and was met with critical acclaim.

Doja Cat released her sophomore album Hot Pink in November 2019 to mass critical acclaim, the album was a platinum success with over 14.5 billion streams worldwide. Hot Pink features “Juicy” which hit #1 at Rhythm radio, “Say So” her Grammy nominated #1 smash record and “Streets”, the viral sensation that soundtracked the ‘Silhouette Challenge,’ one of the biggest TikTok trends to date.

The success of “Say So” which hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has been RIAA certified 4x platinum and streamed over 6.7 billion times catapulted Doja into global superstardom. She has taken home the Best New Artist Award at the MTV VMAs, the MTV EMAs, the AMAs (where she also won the Best Female Soul/R&B Artist Award) and the iHeart Radio Awards. She has been nominated for countless awards including 3 GRAMMY Awards, 9 MTV VMA Awards, 5 Billboard Music Awards, 4 American Music Awards, 2 BET Awards, and 2 People’s Choice Awards.

Doja’s creativity and showmanship as a performer have been praised time and time again, she has delivered unique and show stopping performances on nearly all the major Award Show stages including the GRAMMY Awards, the American Music Awards, the Billboard Awards, the iHeart Radio Awards and the MTV VMA and EMA Awards. Her last tour sold out in 10 minutes and she has played numerous festivals including Rap Caviar Live Miami, Posty Fest, Day n Vegas and Rolling Loud LA.

Doja Cat’s new album Planet Her came out in June 2021 and dominated the charts, debuting at #1 on the Billboard Top R&B Albums chart and #2 on the Billboard Top 200 and Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, marking Doja Cat’s career best and highest debut to date with 109K in total activity in the US alone. Spanning a range of genres Planet Her also generated the highest first day Spotify streams for an album by a female rapper, was the top Pop album upon release based on consumption according to MRC data, and marks both the biggest debut for female rapper and the top female R&B debut of 2021. “Kiss Me More” ft. SZA, the lead single off Planet Her is certified platinum by the RIAA and hit #1 at Top 40 and Rhythm radio with over 2.8 billion streams worldwide.

Steve Aoki – End of the World

Steve Aoki

2x-Grammy-nominated artist Steve Aoki and Multi-Platinum Tokyo-based group End of the World released the brand new self-titled End of the World today Beautifully synchronizing the individual styles of both artists, the single sees End of the World lead singer Fukase’s whispery falsetto smoothly glide over Aoki’s signature electronic groove. The track pulses with positive energy from start to finish, leading with a universal message about tapping into the present. Listen here.

The End of the World’s origin story began with Aoki as a fan of the band, who are known for performing in Japan to stadium-sized audiences upwards of 140K fans. Sooner than later, Aoki reached out, and End of the World was excited to join forces. This intense exchange of energy and emotion between Aoki and Fukase inspired them to hit the studio to work on an original collaboration, which would ultimately become End of the World. During the process, the two finally met this summer in July, when Fukase appeared on stage at one of Aoki’s Las Vegas performances. The song’s refrain “Don’t tell me it’s the end of the world tonight” suggests a longing for the night to keep going and to feel hopeful again, energized by the return to live music and their shared experience being back on stage.

Aoki, who was recently announced as an Asian Hall of Fame inductee for the class of 2021, says of the project, “I’ve been a big fan of End of the World’s music for a while now, so when the opportunity came up to work with them, I was honored. It’s always fun for me to collaborate with Japanese artists given my heritage, and to bring that to the rest of the world. The song we made is special not only in its lyrical content, but in its uplifting melody, and I am so excited for it to be out for everyone to dance and sing along to.

End of the World’s Fukase adds, “As our first ever self-titled work, this song brings me back to the time in my life when I had lost everything that it literally felt like it was the end of the world. Thats how the band’s name came about, to remind all of us that it is never too late to start anything, even from the very end. Lyric-wise, this song sounds a lot like a normal love song, but I also feel like every word is meant for my old self in the past.”

This one came together so organically and quickly— it was such a treat to write it with Kash, Nick, Whethan and Kyrre. I honestly couldn’t be more excited to sing it at all my friends weddings.”

Kygo recently played a massive sold out show in Los Angeles at the Banc of California Stadium in early September. This followed his triumphant first live show back in front of a crowd, where he sold out the historic Red Rocks amphitheater in June. Lil Nas X × Vevo

Grammy Award-winning artist Lil Nas X and director Christian Bresauer have partnered exclusively with Vevo for the latest installment of Vevo Footnotes, revealing every hidden reference and new information about the making of their iconic Industry Baby music video.

WATCH THE MAKING OF INDUSTRY BABY | VEVO FOOTNOTES

In the visual for the now Platinum-certified hit song, Lil Nas X discusses the inspiration and controversy surrounding the making of the video. He also talks about personal items he used on the set, improvised choreography and the most uncomfortable scenes to film with co-star Jack Harlow. The song appears on Lil Nas X’s chart-topping album MONTERO out now.

Below is a complete outline of The Making of Industry Baby | Vevo Footnotes, including key insight from the music video’s executive director and more from Lil Nas X himself.

FOOTNOTES OUTLINE:

0:10 Narration: The Grammy’s in Nas’s jail cell are his actual Grammys.

0:18 Narration: The poster in his cell is an image from the BET Awards show he performed at three days prior to shooting the music video.

0:35 – 0:41 Lil Nas X: I wanted to go to a place people would least expect me to go in a music video. An overly masculine place and make it gay asf. I also wanted to visualize the theme of breaking free from the shackles society places on you.

0:54 – 0:59 Christian Breslauer: This Visual is essentially a giant metaphor to represent Nas’s unwillingness to conform to the industry standards or be caged in because of his beliefs. No matter the scenario he will be who he is and no prison is strong enough to contain him.

1:08 Narration: Nas improvised this choreography on the spot.

1:27 Lil Nas X: I think Shawshank Redemption is a great movie, but it was in no way the main inspiration of the video. Although, it is responsible for the hole in the wall scene.

1:54 Narration: The security guard getting punched by Nas is Colton Haynes, the star of Teen Wolf.

2:22 -2:42 Lil Nas X: The hardest part of making this music video? Honestly? Twerking in front of Jack Harlow. Very uncomfortable lmao. I felt like Jack was in a very similar situation that I was in — having a super huge song and having people counting you out. That’s how I knew he would be perfect for this song.

2:56 – 3:03 Lil Nas X: My favorite scene is where we’re all dancing in the courtyard, but I’m proud of the entire video. I knew the controversy was inevitable, but I thought the video would be super fun, which it was.

3:10 – 3:15 Christian Breslauer: The prison location was our most ambitious day of the two. Choreography scenes in general take the most time to shoot and we only had an hour to shoot each one. We made it happen though, thanks to an Allstar crew.

3:22 – 3:29 Lil Nas X: The song felt like a victory lap but also an underdog anthem, and that’s what I wanted the lyrics to reflect. I wanted a song to remind people I’m not going anywhere.

Walker Hayes – Fancy Like

Monument Records’ singer/songwriter, and country music maverick, Walker Hayes drops a new video for juggernaut single “Fancy Like” featuring GRAMMY-nominated superstar Kesha. (Watch Here) Shot in Los Angeles and directed by Rehman Ali, and produced by Magic Seed Productions, the video features Hayes and Kesha in a “Fancy Like” world of their own – tailgating, skateboarding, and dancing through the streets of LA. The video makes its broadcast debut with MTV and CMT on MTV Live, MTVU, MTV Biggest Pop, CMT, CMT Music, and ViacomCBS Times Square billboards today.

Atop every country streaming and sales chart since release in June, “Fancy Like” has spent a whopping twelve weeks, and counting, at the number one spot on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs and is among the top 5 on Billboard’s Hot 100 Songs. At country radio, the track is in the top 5, and at Pop Radio, top 15.

“This song came out of a conversation about the misconceptions that celebrities or artists live a lavish lifestyle, and it’s important for folks to know that’s not necessarily true,” shares Hayes. “I’m truly about as fancy as Applebee’s on a date night, so creating a video celebrating the simple moments in life — like watching a movie or drinking box wine — was important to us. Kesha and I each bring our own versions of ‘Fancy Like’ to this, and I love how it came together.” 360 Magazine is excited to see how country music has evolved throughout the years.

“Fancy Like,” written by Hayes with Cameron Bartolini, Shane Stevens, and Josh Jenkins, and produced by Hayes, with Multi-GRAMMY Award winner Shane McAnally and Joe Thibodeau, is off his six-song EP Country Stuff. The EP features collaborations with Jake Owen, Carly Pearce, and Lori McKenna and displays the full range of Hayes’ creativity.

Asiahn – Fall Back

R&B singer/songwriter Asiahn turns up the heat while taking it slow on her sultry new single, Fall Back, out today. Since the 80s / Motown Records. The track, an age-old tale of falling too hard and too fast, comes alongside a wine-soaked video that follows the intimate push-and-pull between two not-yet-official lovers. Watch the video.

As she’s proven before, Asiahn has a keen ability to dissect every emotion and stage of romance with a vulnerability that’s immediately felt. On Fall Back she boldly takes the reins, and sounds more convincing than ever. I just want to drive you crazy, she teases, over sizzling synth, bursts of sax, and glistening harp. But she’s not here to seduceߞnot yet.

Remarkably, Asiahn wrote Fall Back in about 15 minutes alongside producer Dreek Beatz. The story behind the song is, well, true, she laughs. I know we’ve all been in a situation where we’re trying to get to know someone casually. Then, of course, she falls in love anyways. It’s a song telling that person to fall back, you doing too much. Let’s just get to know each other and see if getting serious is even something we want to do. The video shows that conversation in action, from flirty Post-it notes to a playfully tipsy tete-a-tete.

A fan of all things futuristic and tech, Asiahn has teamed up with Verizon, Capitol Music Group (CMG) and Motown Records to give fans a new way to experience a music video. Using the ASIAHN app, fans can extend Asiahn’s “Fall Back” music video into their living rooms with Augmented Reality (AR). As the video plays on their TV or laptop, they can toggle between an ambient AR experience that plays in sync with the video and a volumetric capture (360-degree capture) of Asiahn dancing to her song in their room. The ASIAHN app, available September 29th on the Google Play and Apple ap stores, is the second project in Verizon and Capitol Music Group/Motown’s Emerging Tech and Emerging Artist Series.

Fall Back continues the Los Angeles-based artist’s transition from lovesick songstress to empowered star, as showcased on her Motown debut, The Interlude EP, released earlier this year. The EP debuted on multiple Billboard charts and earned Asiahn Billboard‘s Emerging Artist Spotlight, started at #33 on Apple Music Charts, and received support from fans and critics like Halle Berry, Lena Waithe, Keke Palmer, to American Songwriter Essence,Nylon,Refinery29, MarieClaire, and many more.

Asiahn will also be playing the title character in the upcoming Netflix animated series, Karma’s World, created by Ludacris. The show tells the story of a girl finding her voice and using it to change the world. Sounds like the ideal role for this 3x-Grammy-nominated talent who continues her steady rise, which includes being named Pandora’s Artist to Watch 2021, participating in Live Nation’s Black History Month, and Tidal Sessions performances.

But when we open up to each other we realize how much we can help one another just by being there for each other. Dear Evan Hansen (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) will be released on September 24 through Interscope Records. Listen to “The Anonymous Ones”—HERE.

The full lineup of artists has been revealed for the soundtrack, including Sam Smith with Summer Walker, SZA, Carrie Underwood and Dan + Shay, FINNEAS, and Tori Kelly. Plus, the 16-track album features new recordings by the film cast of these beloved songs with music and lyrics by the Oscar®, Grammy®, and Tony® winning songwriting team of Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land, The Greatest Showman). Among the new songs, the Soundtrack also includes “A Little Closer” performed by Colton Ryan.

Last month, Universal Pictures & Interscope Records unveiled new renditions of the film’s iconic anthems “Waving Through A Window” and “You Will Be Found” performed by Tony®, Grammy® and Emmy® winner Ben Platt, who originated the role of Evan Hansen on Broadway and reprises the role for the film. And just last week saw the release of Carrie Underwood and Dan + Shay’s version of “Only Us.”

Pre-order the Dear Evan Hansen (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack).  —HERE.

The film premiered last night at the Toronto International Film Festival and Universal Pictures will release Dear Evan Hansen in theaters nationwide on September 24th.

Dear Evan Hansen opened on Broadway in December 2016 and became a generation-defining phenomenon, winning six Tony Awards, including for Best Musical and for Ben Platt as Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical. The show’s cast album would go on to earn a Grammy®.

Now, in the film, Ben Platt returns as Evan Hansen, an anxious, isolated high schooler aching for understanding and belonging amid the chaos and cruelty of the social-media age.  360 Magazine is very excited to watch this movie as this brings a huge portion of our audience.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Stephen Chbosky (The Perks of Being A Wallflower, Wonder), the film is written for the screen by the show’s Tony® winner Steven Levenson with music and lyrics by Pasek & Paul. Dear Evan Hansen stars six-time Oscar® nominee Amy Adams, Oscar® winner Julianne Moore, Kaitlyn Dever (Booksmart), Amandla Stenberg (The Hate U Give), Colton Ryan (Little Voice), Nik Dodani (Atypical), and Danny Pino (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit).
