GREEN CARPET FASHION AWARDS

Zendaya, John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, Donatella Versace, Jennifer Coolidge, Annie Lennox, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Amber Valletta and Trudie Styler, walked the red carpet at this year’s Green Carpet Fashion Awards at 1 Hotel West Hollywood, alongside some of the world’s most respected leaders, young activists and Indigenous representatives. The annual awards celebrate leaders who are creating collective transformation and showcase the need for an intersectional approach to achieve change.

This year’s special GCFA Game Changer honoree was Donatella Versace for her activism on LGBTQ+ rights.

Receiving the honors are co-founder and Chair of the Elders, Mary Robinson, garment worker and union leader Kalpona Akter, musician and social justice activist, John Legend, Ugandan presidential candidate and Oscar nominee, Bobi Wine, and his wife Barbie Kyagulanyi and Greenland Indigenous leader Angaangaq Angakkorsuaq,.

The highlight of the night saw Vanessa Nakate, on behalf of a group of young leaders, honor U.N. Secretary General António Guterres as The Sage, inacknowledgement of his courage, clarity of message and unwavering work on environmental and social justice.

Accepting the award on behalf of the United Nations, Guterres paid direct tribute to the young leaders’ steadfast work saying: ‘Together our efforts are making a difference.  We need a quantum leap in action to put an end to the fossil fuel age, and save ourselves, and our planet, from the worst of climate chaos. So, let’s keep fighting, keep speaking the truth, keep creating change, and keep up the pressure.  You can count on me.  And I am counting on you.”

The exhibition is designed by Samir Bantal, Director of AMO, the research and design studio of OMA. The ICA’s presentation is coordinated by Ruth Erickson, Mannion Family Curator.

Paramount+ today announced that Emmy Award and two-time Golden Globe-nominated actor Dennis Quaid (LAWMEN: BASS REEVES, The Rookie, The Day After Tomorrow) will star in the new original drama series HAPPY FACE. Quaid will play the titular role of the real-life serial killer notoriously called “Happy Face” because of the smiley faces he drew on evidence where he bragged about his crimes. He joins the cast alongside previously announced actress Annaleigh Ashford, who is set to star as his daughter, Melissa. The eight-episode first season will begin production this spring in Vancouver and premiere exclusively on Paramount+ globally in 2025.

HAPPY FACE is inspired by the true-life story of Melissa Moore; the critically acclaimed Happy Face podcast from iHeartPodcasts and Moore; and the autobiography Shattered Silence, written by Moore with M. Bridget Cook.

HAPPY FACE for Paramount+ jumps off from Moore’s true-life story. Happy Face (Quaid) is an incarcerated serial killer who also is Melissa’s (Ashford) once-beloved father. After decades of no contact, he finally finds a way to force himself back into his daughter’s life. In a race against the clock, Melissa must find out if an innocent man is going to be put to death for a crime her father committed. Throughout, she discovers the impact her father had on his victims’ families and must face a reckoning of her own identity.

Their football-predicting spider crab has been making his picks all season for the Jets and Giants games on SEA LIFE’s Instagram page. He has an impressive 67% success rate.

The Aquarists at SEA LIFE continue to put his football expertise to the test by placing the teams’ helmets into his exhibit ahead of the big game. Without any hesitation, he quickly decided that the Kansas City Chiefs would be the winner for Sunday’s game, by making his way over to their helmet.

While many things are on the line during the big game on Sunday, now there is one more thing to add to the list – the name of the crab. The crustacean will either be named Brock, after Brock Purdy of the San Francisco 49ers or Patrick after Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, from the winning quarterback.
