SLO BREW ANNOUNCES NEW CITY-CENTRAL ACCOMMODATIONS IN DOWNTOWN SAN LUIS OBISPO

The SLO Brew Lofts Poised to Become SLO’s Most Coveted Address

Destined to become downtown San Luis Obispo’s most sought-after accommodations, SLO Brew Lofts will radiate a cool, contemporary vibe and are perfect for any type of getaway or celebration.

Located at the heart of Downtown San Luis Obispo, SLO Brew Lofts are perched above the new SLO Brew on the second floor with their own private entrance. Each loft overlooks the lively downtown scene, featuring views of the bustling and historic Higuera Street, the famous Farmer’s Market and the picturesque San Luis Obispo Creek. SLO Brew Lofts enjoy a city-central location and a happy proximity to dozens of walking-distance restaurants, shops and pubs, putting guests in the middle of all the action.

The spacious SLO Brew Lofts will feature one, two or three bedrooms complete with kitchens, dining areas and living rooms with fireplaces. The tastefully furnished spaces are intended to be inspiring to their guests and provide a sense of chic, authentic comfort.

The SLO Brew Lofts are designed with clean lines, exposed brick walls and solid reclaimed Douglas fir floors throughout, creating spaces that project a modern urban aesthetic. To provide comfort with a sense of sophistication, “The Lofts” are furnished with custom designed, renewably-sourced hardwood furniture, with each loft featuring a different color story centered around large hand woven rugs in either neutral, blue/green, warm earth tones or green-tinged hues.  Every bedroom has either a California King or Queen bed, some with contemporary four posters, and all covered in white duvets with accent pillows and throws that echo the theme color.  The three-bedroom lofts each have spacious private balconies with outdoor seating for four with views of the historic Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa.

In addition, each loft has its own kitchen and dining area, including high-end appliances and a dining table. Three-bedroom lofts also have seating for four at a countertop bar, and all kitchens have Moroccan patchwork pattern backsplashes and solid wood cabinetry that matches the custom hardwood furniture.  All SLO Brew Lofts guests also have access to room service, available from the SLO Brew restaurant below.

In the center of SLO Brew Lofts is a hidden space, dubbed the Carissa Club, accessed through a disguised, speakeasy-style bookcase. With its oversized “live edge” solid plank table, it lends itself equally to family gatherings, casual entertaining or for private meetings. The Carissa Club has its own private fireplace as well as a bar with SLO Brew beer on tap. Here, guests can make arrangements with the brewery for special tastings or dinners.

Another highlight of the SLO Brew Lofts is the large, 700 square foot private rooftop deck, overlooking San Luis Obispo Creek and the nearby Mission. Featuring a variety of seating options and multiple fire pits, the deck is available to the occupants of one of the three-bedroom lofts.  All five lofts, including The Carissa Club, may be reserved individually, in their entirety or in any combination.

“We wanted our guests to have the feeling that they were in their own well-appointed apartment,” explained Rod Cegelski, co-owner.  “Whether they are traveling as a couple, with a group of friends or family, or on a business trip, SLO Brew Lofts are designed to make everyone feel at home.”

With the intention of setting a new standard for modern accommodations, SLO Brew Lofts air a lively, upbeat atmosphere matched only by the SLO Brew downstairs and Downtown San Luis Obispo outside. Perfect for small get-togethers, birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, business gatherings or any type of celebration, SLO Brew Lofts are a place to take in and celebrate life’s important moments.

The interiors of “The Lofts”, as well as SLO Brew and the new brewing facility SLO Brew Rock, were all designed by Celadon House.   Based in San Luis Obispo, Celadon House will be available to work with our guests who would like more information about the design and process of the projects. Accommodations at SLO Brew Lofts can be reserved through the SLO Brew website or VRBO.com.

SLO BREW × EXPANSION

SLO BREW ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR MOVE AND EXPANSION

Popular Pub Will Maintain Authentic Spirit and Atmosphere After Relocation

After 27 memorable years in Downtown San Luis Obispo, SLO Brewing Company is happy to announce the expansion and relocation of its popular restaurant, bar and concert venue to a new space on Higuera Street this December.

Over the years, SLO Brew has become an iconic cultural and musical hot spot that features local and world famous bands and performers. The venue offers an intimate and authentic live music experience where fans are able to get up close to their favorite artists while enjoying SLO Brew’s award-winning craft beers. Together, all these elements create an atmosphere of good vibes, fun and accessibility that keep their following coming back.

The new SLO Brew is slated to open in December at 736 Higuera Street, just a few hundred feet away from the original Garden Street location and still in the heart of downtown San Luis Obispo. Located in the historic Carissa Building, the new space will feature new elements, including a wood-fired pizza oven, an outdoor, creek-side dining patio with fire pits, and four all-suite lofts designed with a modern urban aesthetic on the upper floor. The restaurant, bar, brewing tanks and “kettles”, and the concert stage will share the 6,500-square-foot first floor, while the Whiskey Lounge will overlook the main floor from the mezzanine, complete with reserved seating, bottle service and a private bar.

Destined to become downtown San Luis Obispo’s most coveted accommodations, the SLO Brew Lofts are spacious two-and three-bedroom self-contained units, complete with kitchens, dining areas and living rooms with fireplaces.  While located above The Brew, on the second floor, they will have a separate entrance and can be reserved through the SLO Brew website or VRBO.com.  The heart of The Lofts is the Carissa Club, featuring a gourmet kitchen, lounge area, fireplace and billiard table, as well as a meeting space, and a large private roof top deck overlooking picturesque San Luis Obispo Creek and the nearby Mission.  The Carissa Club is reserved separately.

SLO Brew co-owner Hamish Marshall is adamant that the quality of the musical performances will continue to be top-shelf when the doors open at the upgraded SLO Brew building and that the dance floor will remain.

“The upgraded SLO Brew will keep the local spirit it’s always had,” said Marshall. “The concert experience will still be intimate, but we will now be able to offer more dining options, an enhanced sound system and innovative design elements, along with fresh brews and pub-favorite food pairings.”

In addition to the SLO Brew move, SLO Brewing Co. is also constructing a second site, to be known as The Rock. Located off Broad Street, near the airport, this new brew facility will expand their production capacity, and will feature a tasting room, restaurant, and event space.   Already on tap at over 30 local restaurants and bars in San Luis Obispo County, SLO Brew has plans to ramp up beer production and their commercial distribution.  The Rock is scheduled to open early in 2016.

About SLO Brew

Since 1988, SLO Brew has been a vital part of the San Luis Obispo community, regularly featuring live performances from local, national and internationally recognized artists, alongside their award-winning craft beers. The restaurant, bar and intimate music venue has made SLO Brew a popular cultural hub for residents, music and beer lovers alike. SLO Brew plans to continue to evolve as one of the major destinations for music, food and great craft beer in the state, offering a unique and authentic atmosphere for their guests to enjoy.

SmartDate Glasses

SMARTBUYGLASSES LAUNCHES ‘SMARTDATE’ GLASSES
SmartBuyGlasses.com reveals innovative technology to help find love in real-time

2018 is the year that man sent a roadster cruising into space, complete with (a tin) driver and safety belt. It’s also the year we finally created the coveted real-time translation Babel-fish earbuds from the beloved Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Science fiction no longer signifies fantasy. It would seem that nothing is too big too or brave to achieve anymore. And here at SmartBuyGlasses, we would have to agree. We have a 2018 tech revolution of our own that is set to change the way you see the world.

We are delighted to introduce the world’s very first pair of “SmartDate Glasses”. They are set to revolutionise the dating game. Tired of trawling through eHarmony requests? Getting thumb cramp from constantly swiping left? Well we have the answer to that!

With our brand new pair of SmartDate Glasses, SmartBuyGlasses has once again seamlessly blended contemporary style with consumer demand. Want to look cute on your way to work today, and find a date for dinner tonight? No problem! Your SmartDate Glasses let you swipe left or right on people in real time.

That’s right. The guy sitting opposite you on the tube? The pretty girl serving you your coffee? Throw on your SmartDate Glasses and you can let them know you’re interested. It’s an amazing innovation that is already sweeping China and the rest of Asia Pacific by storm.

The way it works? Look through your SmartDate Glasses lens and (similar to the technology used in Google Glass) you will see their available social media networks and any information they have listed on them. (ie. their age, their relationship status, where they went to university). You can then contact them directly through their social media and let them know who you are, where you saw them through your SmartDate Glasses, and that you’re oh-so-interested. In fact it is through the use of very similar technology to that of Google Glass, that SmartBuyGlasses is able to launch this new smart tech product.

SmartBuyGlasses is part of the Motion Global group, who also own VisionDirect, among others. We are one of the world’s largest designer eyewear e-commerce companies, with operations across Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas. We currently operate in over 30 countries & 15 languages worldwide, and our website offers over 80,000 products from a range of 180 different brands. Our mission statement is to provide high quality designer eyewear at affordable prices.

Having been in the eyewear industry for over a decade we were inspired to create the SmartDate Glasses in response to peoples need to truly connect. In a time of increased digital connectivity, more people are finding it difficult to establish physical relationships. The stigma still attached to dating apps means that many miss out on the chance of love. We saw a way to help. As glasses are fast becoming permanent style accessories, we thought why not combine the two in order to facilitate a situation where glasses weren’t just your fashion accessory but also your tool to connect and find happiness? Welcome to the optical future. We’ve been waiting for you.

My Name Is Mars x Capital Cities

As March draws to a close, Capital Cities return with a single that takes the point of view of the Roman god the month was named for. Released today by Lazy Hooks/Capitol Records, “My Name Is Mars” blends an operatic chant with funky beats and a vocal appearance by Los Angeles-based rapper Sacha. The track is available for download and streaming HERE.

While making no apologies for his violent nature, the god of war exhibits an unexpected sense of humor with lyrics like: “Bulletproof vest, I’m well-dressed/I start the car and I start a war/I throw my spear sincerely/You come near, you pay dearly. »

Image remixes for the “My Name is Mars” lyric video, which can be seen HERE, were provided by the PicsArt global community. PicsArt is the world’s largest photo editing and sharing platform with a community of 100 million+ monthly active users and influencers. Learn more or download the app.

Hovhannes Avoyan, CEO and Founder of PicsArt, says, “We’re excited to announce our first-ever lyric video collaboration with Capitol Records and Capital Cities. We asked the PicsArt community to create god and galaxy-themed edits inspired by the lyrics of Capital Cities’ new track, ‘My Name is Mars.’ What we received was truly amazing – over 2,000 submissions and 200+ images were chosen for the video. PicsArt enables collaborative and entertaining fan engagement from any mobile device. It’s a brand new way to drive awesome content creation like that produced for Capital Cities. »

Capital Cities will bring their dazzling show to such summer festivals as SandJam and Arroyo Seco. See below for itinerary. Founded and fronted by Sebu Simonian and Ryan Merchant, the band offers a bright and groove-heavy take on alt-pop, drawing their infectious energy from the endless juxtapositions within each song: genre-bending production meets indelible melody, high-concept artistry meets classic pop sensibility, clever lyricism meets raw emotion.

The L.A.-based band first unveiled that aesthetic with the breakout hit “Safe and Sound,” which went multi-Platinum around the world, topped Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart and entered the Top 10 of the Hot 100. It has sold more than 12 million adjusted tracks globally. The “Safe and Sound” video won the MTV Video Music Award for Best Visual Effects and was nominated for a GRAMMY. Cumulative streams of Capital Cities’ songs now surpass 1.2 billion while video views exceed 420 million globally. The band’s 2013 debut album, In A Tidal Wave Of Mystery, has sold 1.7 million adjusted albums worldwide.

NEW CITY x GETTING CLOSER

Today, Genre-blending Toronto-based trio NEW CITY release a brand new single, “Getting Closer,” along with its lyric video: WATCH HERE. This the band’s first release since signing with Mosely Music Group/Capitol Records.

This release follows the exciting news that the band will make their U.S. live debut with a School Night show at Bardot in Los Angeles on April 9.

“Getting Closer” comes at a crucial time for NEW CITY in their evolution, reflecting on where they came from and looking towards where they are headed. A declaration of empowerment for the band and anyone else working towards their dreams. « It’s about breaking yourself down and putting everything on the table, but still feeling lost,” lead-singer Adrian Mitchell explains about the new song, “It reflects the ways we’ve found ourselves as a band and can talk about bigger topics. At first, we wrote about the things we wanted and desired, but now our writing is starting to reflect what our purpose actually is and what we’re looking for in the future. “The track was written and co-produced by the band themselves, alongside longtime collaborator, Fede Vindver, who produced “Dirty Secrets” and co-produced “Coachella.”

Just last year, NEW CITY released their first-ever song, « Coachella,” a summertime anthem about the Indio, California music festival. The track has since amassed almost two million streams, with Clash magazine declaring it a “perfect pop confection.” The music video for the track, sees the band channeling party atmosphere of the desert festival – despite never having been. The follow-up, deep house-inflected “Dirty Secrets,” was the #1 Most Added single at Canadian Pop Radio. The song entered the Canadian radio chart at number 22, jumping seven spots in just two weeks and clearing four million streams, “With the irresistible pop sensibilities of New City,” wrote Billboard, “they are a secret you’ll want to share.”

Shortly after the release of “Dirty Secrets, “NEW CITY’s hybrid-pop sound borrowing from pop, rhythmic and EDM influences caught the attention of Grammy-winning multiplatinum super producer, Timbaland, and his manager Gary Marella who inked the band to Mosley Music Group imprint alongside Capitol Records stateside. “These guys are incredibly talented and have what it takes to be superstars,” Timbaland states. Stay tuned for more to come from NEW CITY.”

ABOUT NEW CITY:

NEW CITY – made up of Adrian Mitchell (vocals), Jed Webster (guitar, programming) and Nathan Brown (drums, programming) -are unapologetic about being young, free, and in pursuit of a good time. Formed in 2017, out of two separate projects. Webster and Brown are lifelong friends who grew up together in the small farming community of Sussex, New Brunswick; Webster’s dad fed him a steady diet of blues guitar heroes (Stevie Ray Vaughan, BB King, Muddy Waters), while Brown was more focused on rock groups before discovering electronic music in high school. The pair took a big leap and moved to Toronto, sleeping on a basement floor for two years and working on music every day. They met R&B fan Mitchell, who was born in Oro-Medonte in central Ontario, trying to make it as a solo artist, at a hotel party and quickly joined forces.
