About Shenandoah:

GRAMMY®, CMA and ACM-winning hitmakers Shenandoah, fueled by Marty Raybon’s distinctive vocals and the band’s skilled musicianship, are celebrated for delivering such hits as “Two Dozen Roses”, “Church on Cumberland Road” and “Next to You, Next to Me” as well as such achingly beautiful classics as “I Want to be Loved Like That” and the GRAMMY® winning “Somewhere in the Vicinity of the Heart” duet with Alison Krauss. Today that legacy continues as original members Marty Raybon and Mike McGuire launch a new chapter in Shenandoah’s storied career with their new record Every Road. Raybon and McGuire formed Shenandoah in 1984 in Muscle Shoals, Alabama with bassist Ralph Ezell, keyboardist Stan Thorn and guitarist Jim Seales. Shenandoah inked a deal with Columbia Records and began establishing a national fan base with their self-titled debut in 1987. However, it was the band’s sophomore effort, The Road Not Taken, that spawned their first top ten hits—“She Doesn’t Cry Anymore” and “Mama Knows.” Shenandoah followed with three consecutive No. 1 hits—“Church on Cumberland Road,” “Sunday in the South” and “Two Dozen Roses.” “The Church on Cumberland Road” spent two weeks at the top of the chart and made country music history as it marked the first time that a country band’s first No. 1 single spent more than one week at the summit. It also helped propel sales of the album to more than half a million units thus giving Shenandoah their first gold album. Shenandoah became known for delivering songs that celebrated the importance of faith and family while reveling in the joys of small town life. “Next to You, Next to Me” topped the charts for three weeks and “Somewhere in the Vicinity of the Heart,” a beautiful duet with Alison Krauss, won a Country Music Association Award for Vocal Event of the year and a GRAMMY® for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal. Shenandoah also won the Academy of Country Music’s Vocal Group of the Year in 1991.

Formed in Derby, England, in 2012, The Struts have found themselves massively embraced by some of the greatest icons in rock-and-roll history. Along with opening for Foo Fighters, The Rolling Stones, The Who, and Guns N’ Roses, the UK-bred four-piece band was handpicked by Mötley Crüe to serve as the supporting act for their last-ever performances. Releasing their debut album Everybody Wants in 2016 and sophomore album YOUNG & DANGEROUS in 2018, they’ve toured incessantly since their formation, including worldwide headline shows and major festivals like Lollapalooza, Governors Ball, and Isle of Wight. When COVID-19 brought touring to a halt, The Struts created their third album Strange Days over the course of a charmed and frenzied burst of creativity last spring. After getting tested for COVID-19, the band moved into the L.A. home of producer Jon Levine and, within just ten days, laid down nine original tracks alongside their masterful cover of a KISS B-side.

Chris Young and Kane Brown Set to Perform on TODAY

Multi-platinum entertainer Chris Young and ACM award winning artist Kane Brown will perform their Billboard and Mediabase top 10 and rising collaboration, “Famous Friends,” on TODAY with Hoda & Jenna this Thursday, May 27 on NBC, celebrating the resilient class of 2021.

Already a No. 1 smash on SiriusXM’s The Highway, Canadian country radio and Music Row’s CountryBreakout radio chart, the “Famous Friends” music video, which features Chris and Kane’s own hometown famous friends, is nominated for Collaborative Video of the Year at the 2021 CMT Awards.

Written by Chris with Cary Barlowe and Corey Crowder from a headline tour stop in Tampa in 2018, “Famous Friends” was teased by Chris and Kane on social media last year. The autobiographical song mentions Rutherford County, where Chris grew up in Tennessee, and Kane’s hometown of Hamilton County along with Nashville’s Davidson County.

An anthemic tribute to the names, faces, and legendary stories that make up each hometown, “Famous Friends” is Chris and Kane’s first collaboration since working together on Kane’s 2017: “Setting the Night On Fire.” Additionally, the song reunites the former tour mates from Chris’ 2018 Losing Sleep Headlining Tour—which included a sold-out hometown show at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena—and is a full-circle moment since Kane’s first live concert experience as a young Country fan was at a Brad Paisley and Chris Young tour stop.

About Chris Young

Multi-platinum RCA Records Nashville entertainer Chris Young has accumulated an impressive list of accomplishments, including membership in the iconic Grand Ole Opry, more than 4 Billion on-demand streams, 13 Million singles sold, 11 career No. 1 singles, 21 R.I.A.A. Gold/Platinum/Multi-Platinum certified projects, 2 Grammy nominations, 3 Country Music Association nominations and 4 Academy of Country Music nominations along with a win for Performance of the Year at 2020’s CMT Music Awards.

As a prolific creator, Chris has given fans 7 studio albums in 15 years including Losing Sleep, his third project in less than two years. The title track is certified Platinum while “Hangin’ On” is his ninth No. 1 as a songwriter. Losing Sleep (2017) and I’m Comin’ Over (2015) debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums Chart with “I’m Comin’ Over” becoming Young’s first 2x Platinum single. These accomplishments and more landed him in the Top 20 of Billboard’s top country artists of the decade.

Named “one of his era’s finest traditionalists” by the Associated Press, Chris has quickly become an international ambassador for country music, performing to capacity crowds around the world including the sold-out C2C Festival in the UK. With a hit-packed set that highlights his eleven chart-toppers — including back-to-back No. 1s “Losing Sleep,” “Sober Saturday Night,” “Think Of You,” and “I’m Comin’ Over” — the Grammy and ACM nominated vocalist headlined the Raised On Country World Tour, playing to over 400,000 fans in 3 countries in 2019.

Lake Arbor Jazz at National Harbor

Lake Arbor Jazz Festival Gets Re-Born with a Live Intimate Summer Concert Series at National Harbor

The Prince Georges Cultural Arts Foundation, a registered 501(c)3, in partnership with National Harbor, and a variety of returning sponsors led by Xfinity, announced plans to bring back one of the DMV’s top live performance music events, the Lake Arbor Jazz Festival. The format of the LAJF, a historic festival now in its 11th year, will be modified to a summer outdoor concert series. This concert series has been formatted to reflect music lovers’ appetite to slowly return to live performances in an intimate, safe environment at one of the most accessible, family-friendly and popular entertainment destinations in the region.

Hosted again by seasoned DMV broadcast personality Tony Richards, this much anticipated Summer Concert Series will be held over a five-week period beginning on Thursday, July 1, 2021 through Sunday, August 1 from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at National Harbor’s majestic outdoor venue, Southpointe (701 National Harbor Blvd.) Under a covered tent overlooking the National Harbor Marina, this year’s performers are a who’s who of smooth jazz and R&B that include Najee, Avery Sunshine, Jeff Bradshaw, Maysa, Nick Collione, Gerald Albright, Norman Brown along with DMV region favorites Brian Lenair, the String Queens, Pink Palish and Phaze II.

After a challenging year of pivoting, planning and prayer, LAJF, along with our like-minded community partners, wanted to play a leading role in carefully shepherding our residents and music enthusiasts across the region, back into a welcoming and safe setting to relax and allow the power of music to bring us all back to a place of healing, joy and peace, said Kevin Alexander, LAJF founder and president of the Prince Georges Cultural Arts Foundation.

We’re very excited to have this great musical lineup at National Harbor to enhance our summer of music, said Jackie Saunders, AVP of marketing for National Harbor. Guests can pair a concert with dining, shopping and all of the other attractions around National Harbor to make it a full summer getaway experience. And it couldn’t be better timing with Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center re-opening July 1—right next door to the concert venue. National Harbor has a variety of overnight packages and offers.

For over a decade, LAJF has become the region’s preferred jazz destination featuring noted national jazz recording artists along with some of the region’s most accomplished musicians. Since its inception in 2010, LAJF has drawn over 50,000 attendees and awarded more than $40,000 in educational scholarships to deserving Prince George’s County students pursuing college education in the visual and performing arts. This one-of-a-kind event brings together a diverse audience of contemporary and traditional jazz music lovers, young and old, for an unforgettable music experience with fans coming from as far away as New York and North Carolina.

Event sponsors to date include the Lake Arbor Foundation, Wellspring Manor & Spa and Prince George’s Arts & Humanities Council. For information on performances, dates, times and ticket information, please visit Lake Arbor Jazz’s website.

Glass Animals Perform Heat Waves at Billboard Music Awards

GLASS ANIMALS DELIVER DREAMY PERFORMANCE OF “HEAT WAVES” ON BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS
Last night, Glass Animals delivered their first-ever U.S. awards show performance, as they took the outdoor stage at the Billboard Music Awards in Los Angeles to perform their global smash hit Heat Waves live. The band has been delivering some of the most colorful and creative live performances throughout quarantine, and last night did not disappoint. Featuring a pastel art sculpture by French artist Cyril Lancelin titled pyramid pillows, the band gave a signature, high-energy performance to a live audience of vaccinated fans. Not only was this Glass Animals’ first-ever U.S. awards show, but it was also their first live U.S. performance since their last show pre-Covid lockdown in March 2020 at Los Angeles’ iconic Troubadour.
The Billboard Music Awards performance caps a very exciting week for the band. Last Thursday, they released a collaboration with fast-rising UK popstar Bree Runway on their huge track Space Ghost Coast To Coast, taken from their acclaimed 2020 album Dreamland. The band also recently dropped a trippy video for the song. Not to mention, last week Glass Animals were announced as a performer on Good Morning America’s 2021 Summer Concert Series lineup – tune in on Tuesday, July 20th on ABC.
Glass Animals are gearing up for their North American Dreamland Tour, which sold over 130,000 tickets in just 3 days and is quickly selling out with new shows being added. The run kicks off August 30th in Lewiston, NY and takes the band across North America well into 2022. The shows add to their already sold-out UK tour dates, previously announced 2022 Red Rocks shows and confirmed festival performances at Bonnaroo, Life Is Beautiful, Firefly Festival, Outside Lands and more.
Dreamland, the band’s hugely popular third full-length album, entered UK charts on its opening week at #2 (their highest ever scoring chart position, a massive 21 spots above their last album, Mercury Prize nominated How To Be A Human Being) and charted inside the top 10 in the US, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland. The album clocked up 160 million streams in its first week of release.

Glass Animals have experienced their most successful year to date, with their hit Heat Waves being crowned #1 on Triple J’s Hottest 100 – an accolade not given to a UK band since 2009 with previous winners including Kendrick Lamar and Billie Eilish – receiving a sync placement on FIFA, then an organic Minecraft affiliation, whereby the YouTuber LoverFella (2.45M subscribers) rebuilt a Glass Animals fan’s base and surprised her with a meet and greet with the band who were waiting inside. Heat Waves peaked at #1 on the Alternative Radio Chart for 3 consecutive weeks, a first for Glass Animals in their career. The track currently nears the Top 15 on the Top 40 Radio Chart and is making similar moves at Hot AC and AAA. Heat Waves held the #1 spot on the ARIA Official Singles Chart in Australia for 6 consecutive weeks, marking the band’s first #1 single globally and the longest #1 in 2021 for Australia. It has had over 530 million combined streams, and to date, “Heat Waves” peaked at over 2 million daily streams and has received over 23 million views of the video on YouTube. Glass Animals hit a new Spotify monthly listener peak of 18.4 million, surpassing the likes of Tame Impala, Gorillaz, The 1975 and The Strokes.

Half Drunk Under a Full Moon creates a dreamlike feel for listeners, retaining catchy, folky aspects while gracing listeners with swaying melodies and playful drumming. – RIFF Magazine

Fresh off the heels of their sixth studio album, Half Drunk Under A Full Moon,  Platinum recording trio The Fratellis partnered with Mercury Prize winning electronic act, Rudimental, on a reimagined version of their single Need a Little Love.  The track is available on all DSPs now via Cooking Vinyl, listen here.  Watch the video here, and a behind-the-scenes documentary about the Rudimental/Fratellis collaboration here.

Says Rudimental’s Amir Amor, Experiment. That’s one of the defining factors I’ve learned — you can get something from the most unlikely places.  Adds bandmate Kesi Dyden, When we heard the original version of The Fratellis’ track we were remixing, we were like, wow. It’s a great song, but it’s so different from what we make, and our sound. It’s quite exciting for us to step out of our comfort zone.

Says Jon Fratelli, We had a lot of fun collaborating with Rudimental on this remix. It’s not something we’ve really ever done before, so we are pleased with how well it turned out.

The Fratellis performed Need A Little Love on The Late Late Show with James Corden and The Kelly Clarkson Show, as well as on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show on Virgin Radio, where they also performed a live version of Baccara’s 70s classic Yes Sir, I Can Boogie, which has become a viral hit reaching 200k views on YouTube. The band will release a studio version of the song to coincide with Scotland’s appearance in the delayed Euro 2020 football tournament.
