Flore Drops “Unidentified Foreign Objects” NFTs

The one-of-a-kind, acclaimed artist Flore is joining forces with Art Angels to drop a new line of NFT designs on Nifty Gateway. The collection will release on Thursday, January 13, featuring a group of collectible pieces titled “Unidentified Foreign Objects.” Flore’s inspiration for the pieces of work stem from the Atomic Era, a period where curiosity of outer space ventures and mid-century modern design came together.

The collection of NFTs includes six assets with a physical piece that is currently held in the LA-based gallery of Art Angels. The drop is sure to attract collectors across the metaverse to engulf themselves in Flore’s point-of-view throughout the space-time continuum with six new UFOs. The physical piece of art will become that of the owner of the NFT ‘Invader.’

OVERVIEW

A first of its kind in format, “metaphysical” will feature ten physical pieces shown at DorDor Gallery in Bushwick, New York alongside ten accompanying digital pieces as NFTs from a selection of the fastest growing North American creators in the NFT space, including established and emerging crypto-artists; such as blacksneakers, Noah Kocher, Sophie Sturdevant and Soulo Saint.

The digital pieces will be available here and displayed in a virtual Bitski gallery available online here. Bitski wallets are now integrated into OnCyber, so collectors and artists can display NFTs directly from their Bitski wallet in digital environments from temples to spaceships.

METAPHYSICAL POWERED BY BITSKI

Bitski has powered NFTs across a full breadth of worlds from art to entertainment to sport. Bitski’s relationship to the art world contrasts from other NFT platforms which act as curatorial gatekeepers. Instead, Bitski empowers all creators and customers to sell through their own channels, with easy-to-use features including automated minting, embedded storefronts and no crypto literacy required, amongst others.

Bitski is excited to support this special artist community and empower them with tools for the metaverse; including a digital storefront to sell their digital works in addition to their physical works, providing a new rev stream – alongside creating integrations with third party homes for their NFTs to have “life” outside their wallets.

Bitski’s relationship to the art industry is not new. One of Bitski’s case studies is the FEWOCiOUS NFT launch, where Bitski provided a platform for the artist and his inaugural collection. This NFT launch sold out and generated approximately $30K in sales, an early example of the rise of bidding wars in the art space.

In addition, the investors include some of the biggest names and most credible NFT experts in the art world, including Metapurse, purchasers of Beeple’s $69M NFT sold at Christie’s.

Eminem × Shady Con

EMINEM TO DROP FIRST NFT COLLECTION AT “SHADY CON”

WITH NIFTY GATEWAY THIS SUNDAY APRIL 26TH

Rap Icon’s Initial Foray Into NFT Marketplace, Featuring Variety Of Collectibles

And Specially Crafted Beats, Launches At 6:30/7PM ET

Eminem announced that he will be dropping his first NFT (Non-Fungible Token) release this Sunday, April 26 at 6:30/7 pm ET on NFT marketplace Nifty Gateway.  The drop, dubbed “Shady Con,” will feature a variety of Eminem-approved NFT collectibles.

In addition, the collection features original instrumental beats produced by Slim Shady himself specifically for this release. The tracks will be made available only as part of the limited-edition and one-of-a-kind NFTs. There will be a sneak peek at one of the offerings – a set of NFT action figures – coming soon!  But this only scratches the surface of what’s coming this weekend!

Eminem first teased the announcement on Tuesday, retweeting the recent “Saturday Night Live” sketch featuring Pete Davidson in character as Eminem from the “Without Me” video, which parodied the song in an attempt to explain what an NFT is.

“I’ve been collecting since I was a kid, everything from comic books to baseball cards to toys, as well as every rap album on cassette I could get my hands on,” said Eminem.  “Not much has changed for me as an adult…I’ve attempted to re-create some of those collections from that time in my life, and I know I’m not alone.  I wanted to give this drop the same vibe of, ‘Oh, man I gotta get just that one or maybe even the whole set!’  It’s been a lot of fun coming up with ideas from my own collecting passion.”

“Shady Con” provides Stans, fans, NFT enthusiasts and collectors ONE OPPORTUNITY to own a piece from this premier drop. Born from the convergence of blockchain technology, creative enthusiasm, and pandemic doldrums, this drop was inspired by Eminem’s passion as a vintage toy, comic book and trading card collector that traces back to his childhood days as just “plain old Marshall.”  Make no mistake, this is a digital festival…but it’s modeled after the traditional “Con” gatherings where fans come together and trade their wares. You may not be able to get together with thousands of Stans in a poorly ventilated convention center somewhere on the outskirts of 8 Mile Rd., but this weekend you can rub elbows with each other on Nifty Gateway and own a piece of the collectible, non-fungible action!

Commented Ashley Ramos, Senior Producer at Nifty Gateway: “We’re thrilled to welcome Eminem to our platform.  Demand for NFTs continues to grow and we’re excited to bring this collaboration to our community and give them access to new artwork and music on Nifty Gateway’s marketplace.”

Nifty Gateway was created with the goal of opening the world to digital art and enabling both artists and brands to participate in this defining moment.  Through the creation of unique, identifiable, and secure digital art on the blockchain, nifties have given authenticity to digital art — and with that provenance comes value. The company’s Nifty Marketplace is an all-in-one platform where you can buy, sell, and store NFT collectibles.

Marvel's Indigenous Voices

Marvel’s Indigenous Voices

Marvel announced a new, special series of variant covers written and drawn by the comic book industry’s biggest indigenous artists for MARVEL’S VOICES: INDIGENOUS VOICES #1.

One of the artists included in the project is Jeffrey Veregge, who recently finished an exhibition at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian.

Veregge will provide the art for covers featuring characters like Black Panther, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Black Widow, Captain America, Hulk and Thor.

Veregge said his own people, the S’Klallam Tribe, have used an art style known as Formline to tell their stories for generations. He added that his style is an extension of the art he has seen used by Native artists from his region.

“As a lifelong comic fan, artist and Native American, I am truly honored to work with Marvel Comics today. Not only to create pieces that represent a voice for Indigenous People in honor of Native American Heritage month, but also for the opportunity to share the same storytelling spirit of my ancestors by sharing the tales of some of today’s heroes,” Veregge said.

These variant covers will be available in comic book shops in November, and you can see each and every one of them right here.

PUMA x J. Cole

PUMA will release two brand new colorways of J. Cole’s signature collaboration basketball shoe, the RS-Dreamer.

The two new colorways are called “Concrete Jungle” and “Purple Heart.” The “Purple Heart” is inspired by the Los Angeles Lakers and sports their famous purple and gold while the “Concrete Jungle” design pays homage to street basketball and was repped by J. Cole himself as he sat courtside next to Kanye West at the 2020 NBA All Star Game.

The “Purple Heart” colorway can also be seen on the feet of Lakers stars Danny Green and Kyle Kuzma, and both designs will be worn by PUMA athletes across the NBA and WNBA.

Collectors, sneakerheads and bots alike can get ready for the shoe to drop online with FootLocker and with with PUMA this Friday, August 21 at 10 a.m. EST. They will retail for $125.

Van Eaton Gallery – Disney Auction

The 65th anniversary of Disneyland theme park in Anaheim, California is this month. It is a one for millions of fans worldwide, and an important milestone in the history of American pop culture. With Disney theme parks closed across the globe due to the pandemic, Van Eaton Galleries will celebrate the anniversary of Disneyland with an exciting free exhibition and auction. The auction event Disneyland: The First 65 Years will take place at Van Eaton Galleries over two days, Saturday, August 15th, 2020 and Sunday, August 16th, 2020 beginning at 10:00 a.m. each day.

The on-site auction will follow all COVID-19 guidelines. The auction house will also stream the auction live and bidders can participate by phone or online.

The collection to be offered includes over 1,100 rare artifacts which trace the history of the iconic theme parks and Walt Disney’s vision from their inception to present day. Many of the items are coming to public display and auction for the very first time. The items include some of the earliest documents and conceptual pieces representing Walt’s visions for Disneyland and Walt Disney World, as well as extraordinary theme park props, ride vehicles, audio-animatronic figures, hand-painted attraction pieces, very rare early documents, remarkable memorabilia, signs, and more.

Walt Disney theme parks have welcomed over 200 million visitors since they opened and Walt Disney park-related memorabilia remains one of the hottest collectibles of the last several decades, with prices increasing more than 500% on many items over the last five years. The vast array of items to be offered at auction will surprise even the most avid collectors. Several iconic pieces in the collection date back to 1954, a full year before Disneyland opened. The collection also includes ephemera, stage-worn articles, artwork, programs, souvenirs, and more. Also featured in the Disneyland: The First 65 Years’ auction will be several items from Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris, Disneyland Tokyo and Hong Kong Disneyland. They are featured in the book Growing Up Disneyland and have never gone up for auction before.

Highlights include stage and screen star Don DeFore’s original signage for his Silver Banjo Barbeque restaurant in Frontierland (Estimate: $60,000-$80,000), this sign represents the only person other than Walt Disney that had his name on a sign in Disneyland; a unique 1955 Disneyland Plot Plan created as part of an engineering report (Estimate: $3,000-$5,000); an extremely rare Gold VIP ticket to the park’s opening day (Estimate $3,000-$5,000); a collection of never-before-seen 16mm films taken by Disney Legend Milt Albright that showcase locations on Main Street as they appeared when the park first opened (Estimate: $500-$800); an original hand-painted Stretch Painting from the Haunted Mansion at Walt Disney World (Estimate $60,000-$80,000); an original Space Mountain Ride Vehicle from Disneyland (Estimate $40,000-$60,000); original Attraction Posters from Disneyland (Estimates $8,000-$15,000); a Walt Disney Signed Disneyland Guidebook (Estimate $4,000-$6,000); a park used It’s a Small World Attraction Poster (Estimate: $2,000-$4,000); an original Haunted Mansion Tombstone Prop (Estimate ($8,000-$10,000), and hundreds of other items.

Walt Disney’s words from the dedication of Disneyland on July 17, 1955, have never been truer than they are today: Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America; with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.

Other highlights include an original Eyvind Earle concept painting for the Sleeping Beauty Castle walk-through (Estimate: $10,000-$15,000);  a rare Shooting Gallery rifle from the Main Street Shooting Gallery (Estimate: $3,000-$5,000); a hand-painted Fountain Shield prop from the Enchanted Tiki Room (Estimate: $3,000-$5,000); an It’s a Small World Animatronic Doll (Estimate: $15,000-$20,000); a Dumbo the Flying Elephant prop (Estimate: $1,000-$2,000); original paintings by Imagineer Walt Peregoy from the park’s opening year (Estimates: $2,000-$4,000); early Club 33 artwork (Estimate: $600-$800); a Haunted Mansion Ghost Maquette (Estimate: $1,000-$2,000); an original hand-drawn mock-up of the Pirates of the Caribbean souvenir guidebook (Estimate: $3,000-$5,000); a 1954 original concept drawing of Tomorrowland (Estimate: $8,000-$10,000); an original Epcot Center overview prepared for President Jimmy Carter (Estimate: $3,000-$5,000); and much, much more.

Our Disneyland: The First 65 Years auction showcases the history of Walt Disney’s original vision for his park, and its growth to today. This collection brings together a massive and varied array of artwork, props, original paintings and drawings, memorabilia, and collectibles from the most famous family of theme parks in the world. The auction offers the excitement of very rare items never sold before at auction, but also evokes a sense of nostalgia and sentimentality for those artists and performers whose work helped shape and define our popular culture. We are honored to be able to offer such remarkable items to fans and collectors around the globe and to be able to offer this collection during the 65th anniversary of Walt Disney’s original theme park, Disneyland.

The Disneyland: The First 65 Years; auction covers decades of Disney history, from the 1950s through today. The extraordinary collection has taken years to amass and comes from ex-employees of the park and their families, as well as from avid collectors and enthusiasts around the globe. Depeche Mode – SPiRiTS In The Forest Documentary

DEPECHE MODE’S GROUNDBREAKING DOCUMENTARY SPiRiTS IN THE FOREST NOW AVAILABLE ON DVD & BLU-RAY; DVD & BLU-RAY PACKED WITH BONUS MATERIAL INCLUDING VIDEO & AUDIO OF FULL BERLIN CONCERT

Following widespread tastemaker press, fan praise and global box office success, Depeche Mode has released their boundary-breaking, feature-length documentary and concert film, Depeche Mode: SPiRiTS in the Forest, on DVD and Blu-Ray today. Fans can purchase the documentary, which Rolling Stone praised for being “great… empathetic” and Forbes declared “the new gold standard for concert films,” here.

Depeche Mode celebrated release week by partnering with Live Nation to stream LiVE SPiRiTS via Live Nation’s YouTube channel as well as their Live From Home platform. This gave homebound fans the opportunity to safely enjoy the exhilarating, uninterrupted version of LiVE SPiRiTS, as filmed at the iconic Waldbühne (“Forest Stage”) in Berlin. Depeche Mode also gifted fans the video of “Cover Me” from LiVE SPiRiTS.

Click here to watch “Cover Me”, one of the key tracks from Depeche Mode’s acclaimed 14th studio album Spirit, The DVD & Blu-Ray is not only the definitive SPiRiTS in the Forest experience, but also an immersive one, chock full of both visual and auditory bonus material.

This special four-disc (two video discs plus two audio discs) configuration features two video discs containing the SPiRiTS in the Forest documentary, alongside LiVE SPiRiTS, a full-length Depeche Mode concert performance filmed at the final two shows of the Global Spirit Tour at the Waldbühne in Berlin.

In addition to the two video discs, the package includes two CDs containing the LiVE SPiRiTS soundtrack, the live audio recording from the performance. The package promises to be essential for collectors, longtime fans, and newcomers alike.

The film zeroes in on their lives – all extremely different save for their love of Depeche Mode’s music and the way that music has shaped their experiences – intercut with the final Berlin show, held at the iconic Waldbühne (“Forest Stage”) on the record-breaking two-year Global Spirit Tour in 2018, which saw them play to over 3 million fans at 115 shows around the world. The music, including several of Depeche Mode’s biggest hits, and the Spirits’ stories entwine seamlessly, illuminating the enduring power of Depeche Mode and the power music has to cross boundaries and borders and ultimately unite us.

One of the strongest performing event cinema releases, Depeche Mode: SPiRiTS in the Forest initially opened on 3,000 screens across nearly 80 countries last November. The film grossed $4.5 million and was seen by over 220,000 people. Recently, it began streaming on Prime Video in over 130 territories worldwide and can also be found on iTunes. Watch here.
