Björgvin Arnarson plays ‘Devon’ on the hit TV series, CHUCKY.

Björgvin is an up-and-coming American television actor with a fraternal twin brother. In 2019, this biracial (Icelandic father and Floridian mother) boy wonder made his acting debut as a guest star on Family Time. When asked about his early acting experiences, Arnarson said, “I always liked performing. I used to do community theater back then, I also made short films with my brother… Then my mom asked, ‘Why don’t you start auditioning?’ I replied, ‘Sure!’… I did one commercial, a low-budget film, some horror movies, and a book trailer. I booked some small things and then booked CHUCKY.” 

Subsequently, Arnarson broke into film with a supporting role in horror, starring Vadhir Derbez and Guy Pearce, The Seventh Day. Additionally, he solidified a bit part in Hulu’s hit comedy series, PEN15, earning numerous credits in a short span. When questioned about daily set life, he asserts, “I never know what scene we’re shooting until the day of, so I have to be prepared to be super dramatic or super not dramatic.” He further elaborates, “Shooting out of order is interesting to me …like we’re shooting episode 3 but it’s only the end scene, and we’ll shoot the beginning later.” 

Björgvin portrays Devon Evans in the TV version of the cult classic, CHUCKY, premiering October 5. “I was on my computer playing games, my dad told me that I booked it. I was like ‘Oh Dang Okay!’” Arnarson recalled the day he got the role. “The first thing I did was watch all of the Chucky movies.” 

Born into a family that is both artistic and supportive, it is not surprising that Björgvin Arnarson is an eclectic actor with enormous dedication. Arnarson mentioned that he has a twin brother who is a talented musician and ballet dancer, “We’re fraternal, not identical, but he is three minutes older, he always says that, but whatever.” When they were babies, his mother danced and sang for them, and they soon found out that his father was once in a band and performed in the theater.

While this tailspin continues to earn honors, Arnarson enjoys reading comics, playing the piano and being an active company in the local artistic scene. “I like photography, digital art… putting things together into one big piece… filmmaking, mixed media, Manga… and I’m a big music guy,” Arnarson said.

DEVON EVANS is a boy-next-door and true crime addict who runs a podcast called “Hackenslash,” which sheds light on local crime in his hometown of Hackensack. Evans is hell-bent on making sense of the mysterious Hackensack tragedies, not only from the past but also from the present. Devon is a student at Perry Middle School and is dating “Jack Wheeler” (Zachary Arthur).

CHUCKY is a continuation of the emblematic cinema franchise that retraces the murderous events of the famous killer doll. In the television series, Chucky encounters former allies, sworn enemies and new prey, as he tries to inspire fear, nervousness and chaos wherever he goes.

After his horrible plot to invade America’s children’s hospitals was thwarted in the first season, Chucky now seeks revenge on those he blames, surviving teens Jake (Zackary Arthur), Devon (Björgvin Arnarson) and Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind), along with his ex-Tiffany ( his sworn enemy).

The series averaged 11.6 million viewers in season 1. Season 2 will premiere on October 5 (trailer) on SYFY and USA Networks.

THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF NEW MUTANTS

In 1982, X-Men visionary Chris Claremont and legendary comic book artist Bob McLeod expanded the mutant mythos with the first of many X-Men spinoff books: NEW MUTANTS. Introducing the next generation of mutantkind with hard-hitting, thrilling coming-of-age adventures, the series represented a profound shift for the franchise and is celebrated for its diverse and layered cast of characters and its influential, and at times experimental, storytelling. Over the last 40 years, NEW MUTANTS has continued to be a timeless yet contemporary voice for the marginalized youth who must grow up in a harsh, cruel world. This September, Marvel Comics is proud to honor the anniversary of this groundbreaking series with a supersized issue! Crafted by current series writer Vita Ayala, NEW MUTANTS #30 will be a mosaic love letter dedicated to the mutant youngsters who have become the beacon and hope of a new generation of X-Men. “So many fans have come up to me at conventions and told me what a huge impact the New Mutants had on them in their teen years, and how relatable they were in all of their diversity. Native Americans, African Americans, and Kentuckians, all finally see themselves represented in the comics. It’s been very humbling,” McCleod said of the team’s impact. “Our New Mutants have gone through so many changes over the decades that I often didn’t recognize them as the same characters we created. So I was very pleased to get the chance to come full circle and do a variant cover homage to their very first published appearance on the cover of AMAZING HEROES #16. I hope fans continue to enjoy them for another 40 years!”

The issue will also feature a fourth-wall-breaking short by special guest writer Alyssa Wong, starring one of the most popular characters to debut in the series—Deadpool!

Marvel and Star Wars Yoda comic via 360 magazine

Announced this past weekend at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim, Yoda will star in a brand-new Marvel Comics limited series this October. A ten-issue epic, STAR WARS: YODA will take place during Yoda’s self-imposed exile on Dagobah as he reflects on past adventures. The centuries-spanning saga will be divided into three arcs by three separate creative teams, each set during key moments in the Jedi Master’s long and legendary life.

New York Times bestselling author Cavan Scott and artist Nico Leon will kick things off with a story set during the Star Wars: The High Republic era. They’ll be followed by writers Jody Houser and Marc Guggenheim and artists Luke Ross and Alessandro Miracolo with stories set just before the Prequel Trilogy and near the end of the Clone Wars. Scott and Leon will return to complete the saga in the final issue. Yoda’s first-ever solo comic series, STAR WARS: YODA will reveal unexplored aspects of the Jedi Master’s storied history and shed new light on the mystery that surrounded the iconic character since his debut.

“I’ve been lucky to write Yoda in various projects over the last few years, most notably in Dooku: Jedi Lost, and every time I write him my love for him deepens,” Scott told StarWars.com. “It’s fair to say that my study at home is a shrine for three Star Wars icons: there are a lot of Obi-Wan figures; many, many, many, MANY pieces of Ewok merchandise (do I love those murder bears more than the Lepi? Don’t tell Jaxxon, but there’s every chance!); and then there is Yoda. The little guy is everywhere, in models, in art, and in lots of LEGO. Yoda casts a long shadow over anything he appears in, and writing him is a privilege and a responsibility I take seriously.”

“I’ve been wanting to do a Yoda book since I started working on the STAR WARS titles,” Editor Mark Paniccia added. “Yoda is a very special character to me as he is to everyone working on this series. We all have our hearts and souls in this and I hope the fans enjoy it as much as we have putting it together. It’s really unique and I’m very proud of it.”

Today, Marvel Entertainment unveiled the launch of MARVEL MADE, a new online platform powered by ReedPOP that will offer an exclusive line of prestige Marvel products made to super-serve Marvel’s biggest fans. All Day: The Hunger Games Street Team

Location: Javits Center

Katniss Everdeen will be at the Javits Center with the Hunger Games street team to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Hunger Games. The Hunger Games street team will distribute Hunger Game stickers, and attendees can take a photo with Katniss and tag Scholastic on social media in order to be entered for a chace to win a boxed set signed by Suzanne Collins.
