Trans woman, actress, entertainer, TV personality Monroe Alise shot Corey Fletcher speaks to Vaughn Lowery via 360 Magazine podcast

Monroe Alise

Listen to Monroe Alise’s full conversation with Vaughn Lowery on the 360 MAG Podcast HERE

Monroe Alise is an actress, LGBTQIA+ advocate, model and comedienne. As a transgender woman, she has fulfilled her childhood dream of working in the entertainment industry. Her philosophy on life is described in her mantra, “If you can’t laugh at life, you will never find a reason to live it.”

Born and raised in Washington DC, Monroe grew up passionate and inspired by media and entertainment. Her admiration for her father’s successful career as a DJ ignited her insatiable desire to entertain. Thus, she began singing in church, propelling her into the world of artistic expression.

For Monroe, a great singer consists of emulating your favorite idols while taking advantage of the potential of one’s own voice. As a child, she recalls being compared to artists like John Legend and Luther Vandross because of her tonality and courage. Another favorite is Nina Simone, whom she references while belting evangelical hymns.

As a youth, Monroe was a very active and social child. She studied sports public relations but fancied theatre. These disciplines were conducive to her discovery of sexuality. Further, she began to notice a direct correlation with her mother’s maternal responsibilites, rather than her father and two brother’s machismo profile.

According to Monroe, “While they were playing games and sports, I was in the kitchen doing my mom’s hair.” In addition, her openly gay aunt was influential in her gender transformation due to her immense pride and confidence.

Monroe’s gender bender was painstakingly challenging but became easier over time. For instance, while preparing for an acting role as a Trans woman, she became comfortable in this new skin. After the audition, she gave herself permission to continue to live within this newfound reality.

A year later, Monroe made the decision to come out, “I was like, well this is who I am, so I socially reinvented myself and this is the girl you see.” Eventhough the transition embraced authenticity, it was extremely taxing on her family as well as father’s religious convictions.

Lacking legit representation and management, Monroe began to utilize social media to seek opportunities within the realms of fashion and Hollywood. As a thespian, Monroe became enthralled by the portrayal of becoming another homosepian while subsequently having an impact on the world. This year’s main objective is New York City’s Broadway. Her short-term is to star in a sci-fi like Star Trek or Star Wars as well as a fantasy film similar in type to Harry Potter and Twilight. Longterm, Monroe aspires to host a namesake talk show directed and produced by herself.

As an emerging Trans Community activist, Monroe is deeply concerned about the increasing rate of violence against her people. She hopes to alleviate the suffering of her collective, especially at the hands and ignorance of the narrow-minded.

Monroe’s Five Principles:

1.) Adequate preparation;

2.) prevention of underachievement;

3.) working while you wait without worry;

4.) preparing for your mission;

5.) and continuing to work because you know you’ve been doing the best you could.

Marvel and Star Wars Yoda comic via 360 magazine

STAR WARS: YODA

Announced this past weekend at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim, Yoda will star in a brand-new Marvel Comics limited series this October. A ten-issue epic, STAR WARS: YODA will take place during Yoda’s self-imposed exile on Dagobah as he reflects on past adventures. The centuries-spanning saga will be divided into three arcs by three separate creative teams, each set during key moments in the Jedi Master’s long and legendary life.

New York Times bestselling author Cavan Scott and artist Nico Leon will kick things off with a story set during the Star Wars: The High Republic era. They’ll be followed by writers Jody Houser and Marc Guggenheim and artists Luke Ross and Alessandro Miracolo with stories set just before the Prequel Trilogy and near the end of the Clone Wars. Scott and Leon will return to complete the saga in the final issue. Yoda’s first-ever solo comic series, STAR WARS: YODA will reveal unexplored aspects of the Jedi Master’s storied history and shed new light on the mystery that surrounded the iconic character since his debut.

“I’ve been lucky to write Yoda in various projects over the last few years, most notably in Dooku: Jedi Lost, and every time I write him my love for him deepens,” Scott told StarWars.com. “It’s fair to say that my study at home is a shrine for three Star Wars icons: there are a lot of Obi-Wan figures; many, many, many, MANY pieces of Ewok merchandise (do I love those murder bears more than the Lepi? Don’t tell Jaxxon, but there’s every chance!); and then there is Yoda. The little guy is everywhere, in models, in art, and in lots of LEGO. Yoda casts a long shadow over anything he appears in, and writing him is a privilege and a responsibility I take seriously.”

“I’ve been wanting to do a Yoda book since I started working on the STAR WARS titles,” Editor Mark Paniccia added. “Yoda is a very special character to me as he is to everyone working on this series. We all have our hearts and souls in this and I hope the fans enjoy it as much as we have putting it together. It’s really unique and I’m very proud of it.”

Check out Phil Noto’s cover for the debut issue below and see the legendary Jedi Master like you never have before when STAR WARS: YODA #1 arrives in October! For more information, visit Marvel.com.

Actress Sienna Miller on Elle Canada cover via 360 MAGAZINE

SIENNA MILLER COVERS ELLE

KO Média is excited to unveil the June issue of ELLE Canada featuring actress Sienna Miller. The star talks openly about navigating familiar ground in the new Netflix drama Anatomy of a Scandal, as her character is thrust into a similar kind of toxic tabloid culture Miller faced throughout her 20s. “I can’t quite believe that it all happened,” she says in the candid interview. “The chaos of that entire decade is so far removed from my life now.” In particular, turning 40 has felt like starting a decidedly new chapter for this hard-working mother, who recently moved from London to New York with her nine-year-old daughter. “I feel more in control of my life,” she says. “I know what matters to me: my friendships, my child and, ultimately, trying to be happy. That really is enough.”

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dakota_FanningSkincare is front and centre in this edition — with a few twists. To kick off summer, we offer a sun-protection refresh on everything from UV basics to reapplication. We also look at whether increasingly popular skincare products for vulvas and vaginas actually work, and we explore a new trend toward creating fragrances that emulate the scent of skin. Plus, Dakota Fanning shares her morning beauty regimen and bedtime rituals, and the co-founders of skincare brand Youth to the People reflect on their commitment to sustainable products and the idea that youth is more than skin deep.

In fashion, the scholastic, bookish vibe of preppy style is making a major comeback, but this time with subversive undertones and major sex appeal. French jewellery prototypist Marine Billet gives us a behind-the-scenes look at how she makes some of high fashion’s most avant-garde designs. And sisters Myriam and Romy Belzile-Maguire, founders of the Montreal-based brand Maguire, share their goal of making luxury footwear friendly with ethical craftsmanship, transparency and an accessible shopping environment.

Loss makes a few appearances in this issue. Singer-songwriter Angel Olsen opens up about how her latest album, Big Time, draws on all sorts of grief, including the deaths of her parents and the end of her first queer relationship. One of our writers reflects on the role of transient friendships in our lives as she mourns the loss of one such relationship. And actress Minnie Driver’s new memoir, Managing Expectation, is filled with deeply personal, intimate snapshots of her life, including the last few days she spent with her mother, who was diagnosed with terminal cancer.

This edition runs the gamut of stories about empowerment. We sit down with four female Indigenous leaders who are using tourism as a way to shape a new narrative for Indigenous women in Western Canada. We explore how kink is stepping out of the shadows and pushing our definition of sex beyond being just a one-way street to orgasm. Toronto’s Mouna Traoré shares her experience as part of the predominantly Black cast and crew of The Porter, a show about unwavering ambition and Black life. And British actress Indira Varma, who takes a leading role in the Star Wars miniseries Obi-Wan Kenobi, opens up about her early introduction to the arts and navigating the industry as a woman of Indian descent.

Finally, we get serious with a look at a new media movement centred around giving a voice to cult survivors, allowing them to share their experiences and educate others. Readers will also get to meet journalist Zahra Joya and non-profit founder Pashtana Durrani, two Afghan women who are fighting against repression despite imminent danger in an attempt to reclaim their rights and those of others.

Boba Fett via Disney for use by 360 Magazine

The Book of Boba Fett Soundtrack

The Book of Boba Fett Vol. 1 (Chapters 1-4) Original Soundtrack is available and will be followed by The Book of Boba Fett Vol. 2 (Chapters 5-7) on Feb. 11, 2022. Both soundtracks feature music themes by Oscar, Grammy, and Emmy-winning composer Ludwig Goransson (The Mandalorian, Tenet, Black Panther) and score by Joseph Shirley (Bad Trip, The Mysterious Benedict Society, Fairfax).

Commenting on his score, Shirley said, “The Book of Boba Fett Volume One follows Boba’s heroic journey through Chapters 1-4. Musically, it explores the genre-melding vignettes that Jon and Dave so beautifully wrote into Boba’s expanding myth.  Western, tribal, mystery, religioso epic, high-stakes action, retro-futuristic breakbeats, and classic gangster movie tendencies—they each have their moment within this soundtrack, while using Ludwig’s Main Theme as my North Star.  It’s an honor for me to contribute music to this dearly loved Star Wars universe; an adventure I do not take lightly or will ever forget!!”

“The Book of Boba Fett,” a thrilling Star Wars adventure teased in a surprise end-credit sequence following the Season 2 finale of The Mandalorian, finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.

“The Book of Boba Fett” stars Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen. Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Robert Rodriguez, Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson are the executive producers. Karen Gilchrist and Carrie Beck serve as co-executive producers, with John Bartnicki producing and John Hampian as co-producer.

The first 4 episodes of The Book of Boba Fett are now streaming on Disney+ with new episodes releasing Wednesdays.

CAPTAIN CARTER COVER by Jamie McKelvie and Marvel Entertainment for use by 360 Magazine

MARVEL RELEASES CAPTAIN CARTER

CAPTAIN CARTER IS A HERO OUT OF TIME IN NEW COMIC SERIES!

Jamie McKelvie and Marika Cresta introduce CAPTAIN CARTER to Marvel Comics in new series launching in March

Captain Carter, the fan-favorite character recently featured in Marvel Studios’ What If will report for duty in her very own comic series this March! Prolific creator Jamie McKelvie, known for his defining work on characters like Captain Marvel and the Young Avengers, will now use his acclaimed talents to bring this Marvel super hero to the forefront of Marvel Comics canon, writing the series and designing the character’s brand-new look. McKelvie will be joined by rising star artist Marika Cresta, known for her recent work on STAR WARS: DOCTOR APHRA.

The five-issue limited series will introduce Captain Carter in an adventure that will find Peggy Carter as a woman out of time, facing the reappearance of an old foe in modern day and deciding what she stands for as the wielder of the shield.

A reality where Agent Peggy Carter took the Super-Soldier Serum instead of Steve Rogers is turned upside down when the World War II hero is pulled from the ice where she was lost in action decades before. Peggy struggles to find her footing in a modern world that’s gotten a lot more complicated – cities are louder, technology is smarter and enemies wear friendly faces. Everyone with an agenda wants Captain Carter on their side, but what does Peggy want? And will she have time to figure it out when mysterious forces are already gunning for her?

“I’m as big a fan of the Captain Carter we’ve seen onscreen as anybody, so I jumped at the chance to create our own version,” McKelvie said. “I’m having a great time exploring what it would be like for Peggy to wake up nearly 80 years after the end of the war. The world remembers the myth of Captain Carter, but to Peggy the reality was just yesterday. Now she finds herself in a nearly unrecognizable new world, how does she fit in? Can she be the super hero people want her to be? Exploring these questions has been really exciting, and I love the world Marika and I have come up with. I can’t wait for people to see Marika’s pages – there’s so much life and energy to Peggy and the rest of the cast, and the action scenes are stunning.

Don’t miss this unforgettable new Marvel saga when CAPTAIN CARTER #1 hits stands on March 9! For more information, click here
