Kruse GWS Auctions’ World Record

The world-record-breaking auction house, Kruse GWS Auctions, specializing in entertainment memorabilia, fine jewelry, iconic fashion accessories, Royal artifacts, antiques and collectibles, has announced another world record. On Saturday, December 5, 2020, the Oscar-nominated actress Melanie Griffith’s 48.00ctw Diamond, 8.5mm Pearl and Solid Platinum Pair of Antique Bracelets from her mother, Tippi Hedren, sold for $156,250 during the “Billionaire’s Estate & Royal Auction” event. The pair of solid platinum, diamond and pearl antique bracelets personally owned by film star Melanie Griffith come with quintessential Hollywood provenance of having been gifted to her by her mother, iconic Hollywood actress Tippi Hedren, who famously won a Golden Globe Award for her iconic role in Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds.” The bracelets are collectively embellished with approximately 48ctw round and old European cut fiery white diamonds and are lined with eight 8.5mm pearls each. “Melanie Griffith is a true American fashion and film icon. These bracelets are so exquisite, our auction house recognized immediately they are fine art in the form of fine jewelry and we were proud to set a world record with their sale,” said Dame Brigitte Kruse. “They represent the highest level of Americana; being made at the peak of craftsmanship by iconic American jewelry company Tiffany & Co. and being gifted from iconic American actress Tippi Hendren to her daughter, fellow iconic American actress Melanie Griffith. Kruse GWS Auctions was thrilled to be trusted with such a remarkable opportunity. The sale of the beautiful Diamond and Platinum bracelet secured a new world record as well as a placement in a museum.”

Boarini Milanesi is launching a 6 million euro bag as announced by 360 MAGAZINE

Boarini Milanesi 7 Million Dollar Bag

The Italian brand Boarini Milanesi is launching a 6 million euro bag (approximately 7 million US Dollars), the most expensive ever in the world. It has been created to raise awareness on the need to protect our seas, which are becoming even more threatened than usual by non-biodegradable plastics due to the Covid-19 pandemic. 800 thousand euros (approximately 950 thousand US Dollars) of the proceeds will be donated to cleaning the seas.

The brand has decided to create this bag for a very precise reason, linked to the personal story of one of the brand’s two founders and designers, Matteo Rodolfo Milanesi.

Matteo Rodolfo, who lost his father when he was just a teenager, has lots of memories of him linked to the sea.

“We used to spend every summer at sea, between Greece and Turkey, and I was happiest when we would go on boat trips between the islands” says Matteo Rodolfo. “Even though mass tourism was still a long way off, we would often see plastic bags floating on the water or patches of tar leaked by oil tankers”.

“Recently, I have seen even more plastic in the seathan when I was a child, due to the pandemic and all the gloves and face masks that are being carelessly thrown away. This reminded me of my father, who used to dive into the water to collect the plastic bags and bottles floating in the sea and help me wipe the patches of tar that I found on the beach when I was building sand castles off my hands”.

This is why, together with Carolina Boarini, co-founder and designer of the brand, he decided to do something to help raise people’s awareness of the need to respect the environment, dedicating this particular bag to his father, who cared so much about the crystal clear waters of the seas and oceans. The project also includes a practical initiative for cleaning the seas: Boarini Milanesi undertakes to donate 800 thousand euros of the proceeds (approximately 950 thousand US Dollars) to cleaning and operations in defence of the marine environment.

There are only three of these bags in the world. It is a Parva Mea model, made of semi-shiny alligator, adorned with a diamond pavé accessory and 10 white gold butterflies with sapphires, diamonds and Paraiba tourmalines, for a total of over 130 carats, over 1000 hours of work and a price of 6 million euros (approximately 7 million US Dollars).

The choice of the stones is linked to seawater: Carolina Boarini tells us “Blue sapphires represent the depths of the oceans, Paraiba tourmaline reminds us of the uncontaminated Caribbean seas and diamonds refer to the transparency of water when it falls in the form of rain”.

Timmy Trumpet & Gabry Ponte – Mad World

Today, multi-platinum DJ, producer and live instrumentalist, Timmy Trumpet unleashes his new single, “Mad World,” in collaboration with Grammy nominated Italian DJ/producer Gabry Ponte.

Almost two decades since Michael Andrews and Gary Jules crafted “Mad World” into a UK #1 smash-hit, Timmy & Gabry deliver a reimagining of a masterpiece, custom made for a time in history where the title has never been more fitting.

“I was in the middle of a 30-date U.S tour with Steve Aoki when global pandemic alarm bells rang out” says Timmy. “One night we were playing to 10,000, the next day I’m on a flight home to Australia. Since then I’ve focused on making music that speaks to our experiences of now. Mad World is timeless and timely. Its’ magic deserves to be shared with another generation and it was an honor to work with Gabry on bringing a new sound to an iconic composition.”

The music video was filmed in the heart and at the height of 2020’s narrative – the streets of Philadelphia. It was shot the day after the US election amidst protests, unrest and with the power of the free world hanging in the balance. This stunning story of an emotional rollercoaster captures the journey of a young woman with hopes of a new year that could have been.

The music video directed by Shaun David Barker & Matt Henry was the second time the film makers have worked with Timmy Trumpet this year. The trio teamed up on “Diamonds” Timmy’s first track released after lockdown, which was the first music video to be entirely shot and directed in isolation.

“We wanted to tell a story that embodies the constant frustration, the push and pull, the ups and downs of everyday life as we’ve come to know it. The logistics of shooting a music video during a pandemic were unbelievably challenging. Add full street closures and health, safety and security concerns with political turmoil, it was just the right mix of madness and resilience” says director, Shaun David Barker.

Timmy has shot to global stardom in the electronic music scene over the past few years headlining festivals like EDC, Creamfields and Tomorrowland, and was just voted the #10 DJ in the world in the DJ Mag Top 100. He first began touring in the US in 2014 when his breakout hit ‘Freaks’ went Gold, and globally reigned in more than half a billion streams. It was only fitting that Timmy chose to continue the Mad World story in the epicenter of turbulent times, a place he holds dear to his heart.

Gabry Ponte is one of the influential producers in electronic music with a career spanning three decades. His debut production as part of the group Eiffel 65 was “Blue (Da ba dee)” – the global smash that would sell over 8 million copies. Last summer Gabry teamed up with LUM!X to release “Monster” which has surpassed more than 150 Million streams and has been certified platinum in Germany, France, Switzerland and Austria.

“Mad World” is also the lead single from Timmy’s upcoming debut artist album of the same name due to hit streaming platforms December 4.

“Mad World” is available now via Smash The House on digital streaming platforms HERE.

5 Tips for Incorporating Jewelry into Your Edgy Style

Want to elevate your edgy style with earrings, bracelets, and necklaces? Here is how to include statement jewelry in your look.

Every fashionable lady knows accessorizing is key. If you have an edgy style, sometimes it can be challenging to find the best ways to incorporate jewelry into your wardrobe.

Keep reading for our 3 favorite ways to rock jewelry into our edgier fashion outfits.

Edgy Style Tips: Adding Some Bling

Adding accessories can make your outfit ten times better. Keep reading for our top 3 fave ways to glam that edgy style we love.

1) The Choker Necklace

The choker necklace is back and better than ever. Like everything, this style has come back and is not just a trend of the 90s. A punk classic, chokers are a great way to complete your edgy look.

We’re loving the different materials were seeing for chokers these days. Lace or cloth chokers are a great and delicate way to rock a choker when you’re dressing up for an evening out. We’re also loving the thick choker trend we’re seeing, which can be perfectly paired with a messy updo on a bad hair day.

Pearl chokers are a great way to make this style more elegant. This is a cute option to pair with your evening dress or with a chambray button-down top for something a bit more casual.

Layered chokers are another trend we love and are seeing everywhere! This style is great with a simple cami tank and jeans, as the layered style helps to jazz up any simple outfit. Switch it up by layering the jewelry you already have, we are loving leather chokers paired with simple metallics for some awesome and edgy contrast.

2) Diamonds

Didn’t think you could make diamonds edgy? Think again. If you only thought diamonds were only for the fancy and rich, we have a great diamond option for you. Have you looked into lab diamonds? These are awesome for an edgy lady that cares about being eco-friendly and making sure their fashion is ethically sourced.

We love adding some bling for a little something extra that stands out when we are wearing our edgiest fashion. A little contrast can go a long way.

3) Bolo Necklaces

Bolo ties are not just for men anymore, and we are loving seeing women wear them in new ways. These necklaces are fairly new, and we’re all about this trend. Stars are even wearing them on the runway with their couture dresses!

We especially love bolo necklaces for when you’re wearing something low cut, as it lays perfectly unlike a shorter necklace or a super long pendant piece. If you want to dress up your everyday plain white tee shirt or tank with jeans, add a bolo necklace, and a leather jacket for the perfect effortless edgy look.

Jewelry Every Edgy Chick Needs

These edgy style jewelry staples are great to have so that you can elevate all of your outfits, from fancy to every day. Also, these are all so easy to pair with so that you don’t have to spend forever putting an outfit together!

Accessories to look like a celebrity

Every woman loves jewellery! There is nothing better than updating your jewellery box with the season’s latest trends, which have been inspired by the hottest celebrities. After all, a single piece of jewellery has the capacity to completely change the vibe and feel of someone’s outfit and look. A pair of glistening earrings can turn a plain dress into the main attraction. A statement ring can turn a casual pair of jeans and a t-shirt into a quirky fashion forward ensemble. Let’s take a look at some inspiring celebrity trends that can help you pick the right pieces for yourself or if you’re looking to bag an on trend gift.

Can you guess what trend has made a comeback?

Hoop earrings are back, and we could not be happier! This trend dominated in the ’90s, and then it fell out of favour for a bit. However, it is back with a vengeance. If you want to ease your way back into this trend, Jessica Alba is a good person to emulate and by searching around you can easily find some nice pieces for yourself or for a friend. If you dare to be bold, check out Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s hoop collection. She’s worn some incredible statement hoops as of late. Do you dare to be as bold as Rosie?

What’s the colour trend for the season?

When looking for the perfect colour to rock this season you should definitely be considering blue. Blue is a great colour for autumn and winter because it fits into the season’s colours yet it still has vibrancy and life in it. Moreover, it is a versatile colour – it goes with all sorts of outfits and styles. In addition to this, because there are so many different shades of blue, it means that there is a shade to suit all hair colours, all skin tones, all eye colours, and all tastes. If you are looking for a good place to start then try a necklace or a ring sporting an electric shade of dark blue. This is a great way to make a bold statement and attract attention.

Have you got statement pieces in your jewellery collection?

In addition to this, statement pendants are very much fashionable at the moment. If you are looking to buy jewellery online then you should search for a ‘cross necklace.’ These are extremely fashionable at the moment. They add a stylish and rocky element to any look. They can turn a pretty dress into an edgy outfit. There are tons of different cross necklaces available in stores at present and for that extra bit of glamour get one personalised either for yourself or as the perfect on-trend gift. Which one you opt for depends on your style and personality; there are dainty and small crosses, on the other hand, there are bold and elaborate crosses as well. There are lots of celebrities who have rocked this trend. Selena Gomez works this trend well. She is often seen wearing dainty gold cross necklaces.

Can you master the modern antiquity trend?

In addition to the colour blue and crosses, another aspect which is very much in fashion right now is modern antiquity. Nicole Richie is a master of this trend. This means that you should look for contemporary jewellery pieces that have antique aspects. These can be intricate carved designs, colours such as rusted orange and teal, tassels and alike. They give a beautiful and ornate vibe to any look. They are perfect additions to formal wear. However, their versatility means that they can be used to add a glamorous edge to a casual look as well. They are also timeless pieces which mean that they will probably never go out of fashion – and thus you need not worry about spending money on a jewellery item only for it to sit in your jewellery box and merely gather dust.

What about celebrity engagement ring trends?

From Cardi B to Scarlett Johansson; one thing these celebrities know how to get right is their engagement rings! Why not go for the ultimate gift of an engagement ring? You can easily personalise this with engravings or even by going for a bespoke ring. One trend which is beautiful and presents a wealth of different possibilities in terms of individuality is old school glamour. Vintage is well and truly back. Catherine Zeta-Jones has a beautiful antique engagement ring. Think about intricate details and ornate styles. The style of ring is delicate and feminine yet still has class and sophistication. Thus, it provides the perfect blend; it says that you’ve got sweetness but you still pack a powerful punch.

Would you ditch a classic diamond for a coloured one?

We’ve also noticed a surge in the popularity of coloured diamond rings as of late as well. Once it was all about colourless diamonds; the more transparent the better. However, thanks to celebrities going for unconventional gemstones, we have now seen this boom on the high street and in local jewellers too. Sapphire is a particularly popular choice because whilst blue is different it is still versatile. Nevertheless, one of the most beautiful and well-liked options at present is definitely yellow. Check out the stunning yellow diamond ring Heidi Klum used to wear when she was married to Seal.

So there you have it; the top trends in jewellery for autumn/winter. Remember that which style you opt to go for all depends on you and your look. You can adapt a certain trend to suit your style. After all, there are so many jewellery pieces to choose from these days. The only question which remains is; which look will you be rocking this season?
