Esther Perbandt has to be one of the most dynamic fashionistas of the modern day. Dressed in all black like the omen, she breathes fire into anyone in her line of sight. In fact, It’s one of the reasons why we all fell in love with her on Making The Cut. Recently, we literally bumped into her during a recent trip to Berlin. She’s an impressionable soul who breathes new life into someone who has been depleted by the daily grind or trauma. She moves like water, taking on the shape of whatever space she fills. “I would never have applied to the show because it’s really commercial,” Esther says of how she got on Making The Cut, “I was known in Berlin for being the arty Esther doing big fashion shows and theater. The word commercial was a no-go for me.” “When I read it (the invitation), I was like no way, not me,” luckily she didn’t answer right away, “but then I said: ‘Esther If you think twice, this is exactly what you need. Finally, the international attention.’ I was working my ass off at the time but it wasn’t really working.” The Queen of Black may not have won her Amazon Prime contest for a million dollars, but she’s certainly gained a million fans across the globe. Her supportive nature, loyalty, and tenacity have led to numerous collaborations, including the first-ever jewelry capsule with Adidas.

She admits that she isn’t as sustainable as she had hoped to be as a designer, but at least she is aware of her shortcomings. She does, however, state that she will drive two hours for locally sourced materials such as zippers made in Germany. “I have the goal to become sustainable or maybe 100% sustainable in ten years,” Esther states, “the vision of my brand in ten years is very digital, so I’m playing a lot with digital fashion…and also using it as a tool to become more sustainable.”

You’d have to be a fool to believe that this unpolished, meticulously engineered black diamond won’t have her moment to shine. Someone who has struggled on her path to success will eventually prosper. “People love to invite me to speak because I’m very honest,” Esther admits, “I talk about how bad it was sometimes that I was sleeping on the floor because I had to rent my apartment to get some money in, or how I had to take out large bank loans that I was almost unable to repay. But this is the life of a designer, and it was a decision. And it was also a decision not to have a family because I knew this job would be 24/7, and I wanted it and still want it.” Her passion for fashion, and meticulous attention to detail, combined with her monochromatic ensembles accented with gold accessories, will keep her on top. It is the reason why we celebrate her. Why we adore her. And how she takes on tasks at the drop of a hat – two collections per year, countless magazine covers, and speaking engagements in addition to Vogue editorials. Esther also held a solo exhibition of her artworks last year. “All of them were inspired by my collection. I used the same techniques and the same materials, but just created some 3D sculptures which you can put on the wall,” She explains. “I can’t focus solely on fashion for 365 days a year; I need some distractions,” Esther confesses. “So this art is part of it, and I’m hoping that this distraction will get me back into fashion, which is exactly what happened.” With so much talent at her disposal, she will stand the test of time, strangling fast fashion with her bare hands, just like her Avant trademarks. Her heart and keen ability to visually tell a story is what will propel her career forward.

2022 Range Rover P530 First Edition activation in meatpacking district via 360 MAGAZINE.

Range Rover P530 First Edition

The 2022 Land Rover Range Rover P530 First Edition is a clear definition of a successful product and one of the most stunning vehicles on the market, attracting the attention of car enthusiasts as well as the general public. This new British SUV model showcases non-hybrid and new hybrid engines with adopted rear-wheel steering and new accommodative seven-occupant seating. The P530 provides a range of customizations for customers including notable options between short and long wheelbases, luxury and comfortable amenities, and a split rear tailgate.

Design

The first edition of this enhanced Rover was designed for both a breathtaking melding of function and design that reconstructs the previous models. Lead designer, Gerry McGovern, and his team reimagined an icon. Gerry and the team indeed successfully crafted a remarkable fifth-generation Range Rover P530 and arrived at classic sleek, pared-down elegance. Imagine  23-inch veers uniquely filling the arcs and “the hidden” vertical rear light. Check out the vertical taillights that appear when illuminated that indeed make a difference for the rear. The switchgear is more upscale, sleeker, and softer than previous models. For the first time, the first edition Range Rover has an additional third-row feature that expands the previous linear design, making the interior a show stunner.

Most importantly, short and long-wheel-based designs have a choice of four, five, or seven-seat interiors. The P530 comes with an engine capacity of 4.4 liters with a V8 Twin –Turbo petrol design, automatic transmission of eight-speed, drivetrain equipped with intelligent all-wheel intelligent driveline dynamics, a classic exterior color sunset gold satin, interior trim fitted with perlino semi-aniline leather, and Pirelli-285/40 R23 A/S tires. The new model is also equipped with an electrified powertrain that provides PHEV that conjoins the advanced Ingenium petrol engine with a 105kW electric motor, empowering the car to function as a full petrol engine or electric vehicle when necessary. Engine includes an intercooler and twin-turbocharged DOHC 32-valve V-8, aluminum block and heads, direct fuel injection engine with a displacement of 268 in3, 4395 cm3, power of 523 hp @ 6000 rpm and Torque: 553 lb-ft @ 1800 rpm.

Technology

This First Edition tech advancements include the finest materials to craft a conducive haven for all passengers, making each journey a memorable and wonderful experience. Talk about the works – a steering wheel modernized with electric power-assisted steering, rack, and pinion all-wheel steering, a 13.1-inch Pivi pro touchscreen designed as an instructions center platform, hard buttons for HVAC, and rotary controllers. Driven modes and off-road functions like crawl control, hill descent, and low range provide flexibility for any driving occasion. Additionally, the SUV has Android Auto and wireless Apple Car play, Meridian sound, improved seats, and Alexa voice control. Meridian sound comes with the third-generation dynamic noise dissolution system, which displays engine sounds transmitted to the cabin, tire noise, and wheel vibration for a full sensory trip. The engine sound transmitter generates a canceling signal and includes a duo of 60 mm breadth speakers fixed on the head support of the four main passengers’ seats for a beautifully personalized ride. The new model standard wheelbase is equipped with front and rear suspension. The front suspension has a double wishbone with a virtual swivel axis and split a lower arm, electronic air suspension. To contrast, the rear suspension has five-link axles, electronic air, and suspension.

Performance

The 2022 P530 was crafted with peerless refinement and effortless performance. It has an inclusive line-up of unconventional 6 and 8-container drivelines, either an advanced chargeable turbo of 4.4L “hot-vee” V8 thrusting out 523 horsepower and 553 lb-ft or mild-hybrid chargeable turbo of 3.0L straight-six making 406 lb-ft of torque and 395 ponies. There’s even a straight 6-cylinder with an advanced 48v mild hybrid Ingenium petrol and diesel engine with a 39.2kWh battery operated containing lithium-ion, which has a 105 kW electric motor integrated with transmission and a usable capacity of 31.8kWh. The recent model’s performance on the road is smooth and delivers seamless wafting, which separates it from the previous models. To top it off, it can blend serene road trip rides with enhanced body control. On the pavement, the P530 will hover over broken pavements, melting large suspension movements and neutralizing small ones to shake down the needle of the chassis briefly. It provides electrified performance with a comprehensive line-up of advanced powertrains that brings new levels of capability to Land Rover‘s flagship SUV and efficiency compared to past fleets.

Bolster an electrified performance with two new Extended-Range plug-in hybrid electric vehicle powertrains providing up to 113km/70 miles of EV range and extraordinary efficiency. The vehicle has two main charging options: a DC rapid charger, which provides an efficiency of 0-80 % in under an hour, and an AC home charger which provides an efficiency of 0-100% in five hours. Notably, the extended Range PHEV uses three driving modes: save mode, EV mode, and hybrid mode. Save mode preserves the battery level to be used later while hybrid mode optimizes energy efficiency between petrol and electric power.

Additional features

Advanced rear-wheel steering has improved tighter turning stability above 50km/h which can reduce its turning circle. Touch control makes shifting from the second-row seat to the third-row seat easy; all you have to do is tap the touch control to activate the rear sliding and tipping forward function. Generally, there’s advanced, responsible and sustainable interior options. The interior offers customers a more comprehensive range of finishes and materials, such as innovative tactile Ultra fabrics and textiles. The new model SWB and LWB have new auto-folding load space covers behind the first, second, and third rows with a sheathable design that moves back when the upper tailgate is unlocked. The load space provides a more spacious load area for the convenience of the customers.

To add, it comes with unique technical specifications of HF 523, a torque lb-ft 553, top speed of 155 mph. The P530 is available in a Sunset Gold Satin finish and offers various exterior colors. Other features entail a tailgate events suite with leather cushions, wireless device charging with a phone signal booster, blind spot assist, traffic sign recognition, and an adaptive speed limiter.

Dreweatts and Forum Auctions are excited to announce a new slot in their auction calendar titled The British Salewhich will take place onTuesday December 13, 2022. The sister companies will showcase artworks by prominent Modern & Contemporary British artists, alongside limited-edition prints and multiples. The auction has been curated to offer both seasoned and new collectors an opportunity to acquire pieces from the second half of the 20th Century, through to more current works by popular British contemporary artists, such as Bridget Riley, Damian Hirst, David Hockney, Grayson Perry, Harland Miller, Barbara Hepworth, Henry Moore and Chris Levine. The sale was devised to celebrate all things British and to service the increasing global interest in British artists. Estimates for the works range from £250 up to £150,000 and are guaranteed to reach their recipients in time for Christmas!

The Complete Set of Five Empresses by Damien Hirst via 360 MAGAZINE.
The Complete Set of Five Empresses by Damien Hirst via 360 MAGAZINE.

Among the highlights are three hand finished etchings by Yorkshire artist and writer Harland Miller (b.1964). The artworks are Miller’s iconic Penguin prints created after vintage book covers from the Penguin publishing house. One of the three, a woodcut print in a striking bright pink is from an edition of 50 and dates from 2021. Signed and dated, it carries an estimate of £45,000-£55,000 (Lot 93).

The sale will offer four lithographs by one of the most important British artists of the 20th Century, Barbara Hepworth (1903-1975). Recognised predominantly for her Modernist sculpture, Hepworth also produced spectacular graphic works on paper, which included etchings and lithographs such as these. One of the highlights titled Sea Forms while abstract, will have been inspired by the landscape around Hepworth, while living with her artist husband Ben Nicholson (1894-1982), on the Cornish coast. This dynamic work dates from 1969, is signed by the artist and is numbered from the edition of 60. It carries an estimate of £3,500-£4,000 (Lot 12).

The full set of five Empresses by controversial artist Damien Hirst (b.1965) is among several works by the artist in the sale. The prints, created in a vibrant red feature spiral patterns made up of one of

Hirst’s most well-known motifs – the butterfly. The butterflies are arranged on laminated giclée panels to form patterns, the material helping to create the illusion of the butterflies in flight, with a glitter effect adding to the sense of movement. Dating from 2022, the work is signed and numbered and carries an estimate of £20,000-£25,000 (Lot 104).

There are several artworks by graffiti artist Banksy (b.1974) in the sale, including one from the edition of four of the Bad Meaning Good album covers that he designed for the Bad Meaning Good music compilations between 2002 and 2003. The albums featured various artists and varying genres of music and were released in vinyl and CD formats. This particular work is from the Bad Meaning Good Volume 1 album, which consisted of tracks chosen by British DJ and music producer, Skitz. The painting in spray paint and emulsion on canvas portrays a stencilled black and white machine gun wearing oversized trainers in an almost comical way, detracting from the violent image of the machine gun and what it represents. An orange cross can be seen in the background, one of many symbols of Banksy’s anti-establishment statements about authority and control. Created in 2002 it is estimated to fetch £120,000-£150,000 (Lot 123).

Works by another popular British graffiti artist included in the sale is Stik (b. 1979), with two lots by the artist on offer. Holding Hands is a set of five lithographs featuring stick men/women holding hands. It is printed in bold colours, with each signed by the artist in black felt-tip pen on paper. The set carries an estimate of £4,000-£6,000 (Lot 120).

Untitled (Elongated Triangles 6) by Bridget Riley VIA 360 MAGAZINE.

Among three works by British artist Bridget Riley CH CBE (b. 1931) is a screen print (Untitled, elongated triangles 6). The work is typical of her popular op art style of creating visual artworks that give onlookers a sense of illusion and movement, with oscillating patterns. Created in bold colours, this spectacular work was produced in 1971 and is signed, dated and numbered from an edition of 75. It carries an estimate of £6,000-£8,000 (Lot 720).

One of six works by revered British artist David Hockney (b.1937) is an early etching with aquatint titled Fires of Furious Desire inspired by the poem: ‘O Flames of Furious Desire’ by William Blake. Dating from 1961 it is from an edition of 75 and is signed and dated. It carries an estimate of £5,000-£7,000 (Lot 61).

Home Workers and Key Workers is a ceramic set of figures by contemporary artist Grayson Perry (b.1960), famed for his creations that explore identity. Perry designed the Staffordshire figures as part of his ‘Art Club Series 2’ and are models of the exhibition works in Bristol Museum. From an edition of 200 and stamped with the Staffordshire pottery mark, the set has an estimate of £3,000-£5,000 (Lot 116). (Illustrated below)

Live and Breathe the Film Industry: Israeli’s Star Artist Eva Lanska’s take on the Film Industry and NFT Spaces

The NFT space is a haven for art lovers and artists all over the world. Our recent conversation with the Israeli star Eva Lanska provides an intimate understanding of her experience in the NFT space and the film industry. Being an Israeli film director and artist,  she sells and promotes her work in the NFT space while also working as a film director in her Tel Aviv studio. Eva claims that film direction and art have been her passions since the age of seven, but it has taken her twenty years to realize her dream. She discusses her struggles as a female director and artist, highlighting the challenges she has faced in the industry. “Art, film, this is what we choose, these are our lives, one day the door will open and we will become who we want to be, and we will take our place,” she encourages women in the industry. Eva reveals that she does not come from an influential family of Hollywood personalities and as such, she has had to work her way into the Hollywood family.

The story behind the exceptional woman reveals the reality in Hollywood. “If you do not come from a famous Hollywood family, you have to work extra hard to get noticed in the industry…because the Hollywood inner circle is a very small, closely knit family,” Eva states. “Before getting noticed, one has to live and breathe Hollywood,” she confesses. We all admire the stunning Israeli artist for navigating the difficult path into Hollywood’s inner circle. “Talent is simply not enough, knowledge is not enough; you must become one with the community,” Eva says, possibly the most candid advice she has for people trying to make it in the entertainment industry.

The conversation quickly shifts to the NFT space and what it means to artists around the world. Eva describes the NFT space as a platform that offers artists the freedom of expression. At first, she finds it intimidating, particularly as a woman new to the platform. It becomes even more intimidating for her when she meets award-winning scholars, but she overcomes her fears and eventually establishes a reputable name in the industry. Eva also expresses her dissatisfaction with the platform’s marginalization of women, claiming that their projects often take longer to be approved or funded. “We can only go forward, never look back, and we are gonna go till we achieve,” she encourages women in the industry. “Stopping, giving up is not an option,” she adds, “we have to keep going and moving forward.”

Miami Art Week is a celebration and appreciation of the world’s best art collections, it is no surprise that Eva Lanska’s collection is featured. The NFT exhibition will display some of Eva’s large-scale sculptures and paintings, along with Michael Benisty, WhIsBe, Noah Becker, Lauren Baker, Maxim Zhestkov, and more, at the Bagatelle Ritz-Carlton Hotel. Photographic works from Lanska’s Gematria collection and The Existential Choice are featured exclusively at the NFT event. For the opening event, Eva collaborated with SmartMedia to produce a special limited edition (1000) NFT from her Gematria series called Gematria 596. She proudly describes this piece as a symbol of purity. Eva’s art is celebrated for the messages it conveys, she has previously used art to address gender equality and societal injustices. This event serves as a reminder of the powerful woman Eva Lanska is and how her art will leave a lasting impression on the world.

DOCTOR STRANGE #1

THE MASTER OF THE MYSTIC ARTS RETURNS TO RESHAPE YOUR REALITY IN NEW DOCTOR STRANGE SERIES!

Jed MacKay and Pasqual Ferry launch a new DOCTOR STRANGE ongoing series this March

Jed MacKay’s acclaimed work on the Doctor Strange mythos has captivated readers over the past year, and this March, a thrilling new chapter begins. Spinning out of the character’s terrifying demise in Death of Doctor Strange and Clea’s time as Sorcerer Supreme in Strange comes an all-new ongoing series for Stephen Strange where he’ll resume his duties as Marvel’s Master of the Mystic Arts!

This time around, MacKay will be joined by superstar artist Pasqual Ferry, known for his stylish work on recent titles like Namor: Conquered Shores and Spider-Man: Spider’s Shadow. These two talents have devised a grand plan for Doctor Strange centered around a shocking mystery that strikes at the very heart of Strange’s legacy and purpose. The journey that follows will harken back to the iconic hero’s psychedelic and otherworldly storytelling, taking readers to places only Strange would dare to go and introducing enemies only he could hope to defeat, including a brand-new threat that Strange shares a personal connection with. In honor of this new saga, Doctor Strange will be donning a revamped costume designed by the legendary Alex Ross, who will also be gracing the series with breathtaking covers!

Stephen Strange is back! Reunited with Clea and Wong, it’s back to business as usual for the Sorcerer Supreme. Have your children fallen into a deep nightmarish slumber? Are demonic refugees invading your home? Is your husband possessed by a satanic entity? Then call Doctor Strange! But when someone else begins to issue their own dark justice on Strange’s mightiest foes, Strange embarks on an interdimensional search for answers, only to discover the culprit may be closer to home than he thinks…

“After Death of Doctor Strange, after Strange, we open the next act in our ongoing saga of the Sorcerer Supreme in DOCTOR STRANGE #1!” MacKay proclaimed. “It’s been really exciting to have the opportunity to not only continue exploring the magical side of the Marvel Universe with the inhabitants of 177A Bleecker Street, but to follow the lives of the Stranges as the last year and a half has put them through the wringer. Pasqual has been putting together a truly magical book, and I’m super psyched to show people what’s in store for Stephen and Clea Strange- and of course, we won’t be giving them any time off after recent events…”

“When I started working for Marvel, there were three comics I had always wanted to draw:Fantastic FourSpider-Man, and Doctor Strange,” Ferry said. “Why Doctor Strange? Because his stories include all the elements I love as an artist—the fantasy, science fiction, and imagination. Above all, the fact that I could look at Steve Ditko’s work as a reference really motivates me! When he drew Doctor Strange, all the utopian and imaginary sceneries were incredible. So this is a very special moment in my career, and I’m looking forward to seeing where the character is going to take us with this new narrative. I know a lot of artists, including myself, consider Doctor Strange a challenge, like there is a need to add something new to the character because it offers you that possibility. For me, Doctor Strange is a big challenge, but I embrace it.”

Enter a new reality alongside comic books’ greatest magical hero when DOCTOR STRANGE #1 hits stands in March! For more information, visit Marvel.com.

Lectra announces the acquisition of the majority of the capital of TextileGenesis

Lectra extends its software offer to material traceability
and reinforces its position in Industry 4.0

Lectra announces the signature of an agreement to acquire 51% of the capital and voting rights of the Dutch company TextileGenesis. As a major player in the fashion, automotive, and furniture markets, Lectra contributes with boldness and passion to the Industry 4.0 revolution by providing software, equipment, data, and services to brands, manufacturers, and retailers.

Founded in 2018, TextileGenesis provides a Software as a Service (SaaS) platform that enables fashion brands and sustainable textile manufacturers to ensure a reliable, secure and fully digital mapping of their textiles, from the fiber to the consumer, and thereby guarantee their authenticity and origins. This solution ensures the traceability of TextileGenesis’ customers’ entire sustainable textile supply chain in order to meet the demands for transparency, driven by changes in legislation in a growing number of countries and by growing consumer awareness, thereby encouraging sustainable development.

Its innovative traceability mechanism, which addresses both ends of the textile value chain, as well as its network of partners for material certification, and its technology platform guarantee the exchange and tracking of reliable and secure data throughout a material’s life cycle.

Several of the world’s most prestigious fashion brands as well as leading sustainable fiber producers are already convinced of the value of TextileGenesis’ innovative offer, which enables the connection of multiple actors of the sustainable fashion ecosystem on this platform.

“Fashion is one of the most fragmented industries due to its long and complex value chain, which makes it opaque to brands, suppliers, subcontractors, and consumers” says Amit Gautam, founder of TextileGenesis. “Today, only 19% of fashion industry actors have visibility of their value chain, and this visibility is often partial. Many brands, especially those that have set ambitious sustainability goals, face a real challenge in terms of supply chain transparency. If they cannot track the life cycle of certified materials, they will not be able to justify the sustainability of their products,” he adds.

“Having the highest ethical standards, guaranteeing the well-being of our employees, and preserving the environment are embedded in Lectra’s DNA and guide our daily decisions. Through our technology, acquisitions, and partnerships, we aim to empower our customers to work in a more socially and environmentally responsible way,” says Daniel Harari, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Lectra. “We look forward to joining forces with TextileGenesis’ talented teams to accelerate the development of their sustainable material traceability solution and deepen our knowledge of the textile value chain in the fashion industry,” he concludes.

At the beginning of January, Lectra will acquire 51% of TextileGenesis for 15.2 million euros. The acquisition of the remaining share capital and voting rights is expected to take place in two stages, in 2026 and 2028, for an amount that will be calculated based on a multiple of the 2025 and 2027 recurring revenues.
