GREENSKY BLUERGRASS ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM ‘STRESS DREAMS’

GREENSKY BLUEGRASS ANNOUNCES NEW STUDIO ALBUM ‘STRESS DREAMS OUT JANUARY 21 VIA THIRTY TIGERS

FALL TOUR KICKS OFF OCT 8 AT HILLBERRY MUSIC FESTIVAL
PLUS, HALLOWEEN WEEKEND IN NASHVILLE, TWO NIGHTS AT THE RYMAN

Coming off a weekend of three sold-out performances at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater, Greensky Bluegrass is thrilled to announce Stress Dreams’, the band’s eighth studio album, due out on January 21 via Thirty Tigers.

For the past century, bluegrass music has traditionally relayed real tales of American life, struggle, tragedy, and triumph. It gives a voice to the quiet, yet colorful stories woven into the fabric of the country itself. Greensky Bluegrass live these stories through their records and performances. When touring ceased in 2020 in the face of the global pandemic, the band hunkered down and compiled demos individually at first, sharing emails and voice notes. In July 2020, they got together for the first time in four months, dedicating rehearsals to the development of the new material. Once circumstances safely permitted, they recorded what would become Stress Dreams during a session in Guilford, VT and two sessions in Asheville, NC with frequent collaborator and old friend Dominic John Davis as producer and wizard engineer Glenn Brown mixing. They preserved the hallmarks of their sound while widening its expanse.

Greensky is and always has been very unique in our world, says Paul Hoffman. We put our love, energy, and focus into what we appreciate about our music. We come together as a band in a way that’s organic. We take a lot of pride in how we grow and challenge each other too. We’re maturing together. I think we get more Greensky all of the time.

Since their formation in Kalamazoo, MI, the quartet Anders Beck [dobro], Michael Arlen Bont [banjo], Dave Bruzza [guitar], Mike Devol [upright bass], and Paul Hoffman [mandolin] have unassumingly progressed into a phenomenon on their own terms with the support of a devout audience. Rolling back and forth across North America on successive tours, they’ve sold out multiple dates at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, the Ryman Auditorium, the Fillmore Detroit, Riviera Theater Chicago, and many more. Beyond standout sets at Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, New Orleans Jazz Festival, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, and Austin City Limits, they co-own and have headlined 4848 Festival and Strings & Sol. During 2019, ‘All For Money’ marked their second #1 debut on the Billboard Top Bluegrass Albums Chart and third straight Top 3 entry. They’ve also earned critical acclaim from Billboard, Parade, NPR, and Rolling Stone who hailed them as representing the genre for a whole new generation.

THE RONNIE WOOD BAND
MR LUCK – A TRIBUTE TO JIMMY REED: LIVE AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL

The Ronnie Wood Band return to the blues this month with the second instalment of his live album trilogy –‘Mr Luck – A Tribute to Jimmy Reed: Live at the Royal Albert Hall’. Released by BMG today, September 17,  2021, the 18-track album features The Ronnie Wood Band including Mick Taylor with incredible special guests, Bobby Womack, Mick Hucknall and Paul Weller and pays tribute to one of Ronnie’s musical heroes and major influences, the Mississippi electric blues pioneer Jimmy Reed.

The album is recorded live at a memorable night at the Royal Albert Hall on November 1st, 2013. It features stunning tracks including “Good Lover,” “Ghost of A Man,” and “Shame, Shame, Shame.” With unique album artwork specially created by Ronnie, Mr Luck will be available digitally, on CD, as a vinyl release, and as a beautiful limited-edition dual-tone smoky blue vinyl.

When self-taught guitarist Eddie Taylor imparted his skills onto his friend Jimmy Reed, he surely couldn’t have imagined the effect this was to have on the Chicago blues scene. Backing up such luminaries as John Lee Hooker, he is best remembered for his work with his former student.

Sweet coincidence, then, that in 1974 another Taylor, Mick, would make way for Ronnie Wood in the Rolling Stones, paving the way for these two friends and celebrated guitarists to work on projects ever since. The culmination of this to date is Taylor’s place in The Ronnie Wood Band at the Royal Albert Hall for 2013’s Bluesfest, where they played the now-legendary set that would come to birth to this recording.

Ronnie comments: “Jimmy Reed was one of the premier influences on the Rolling Stones and all the bands that love American blues from that era until the present day. It is my honor to have the opportunity to celebrate his life and legacy with this tribute.”

This album marks the second iteration in a trilogy of special and personal albums by Wood and the band, celebrating Ronnie’s musical heroes. The first album, Mad Lad explored the work of Chuck Berry as an emotional commemoration after Berry’s passing just over two years ago. Ronnie toured with Berry and was a lifelong fan.

Tracklist:

  1. Essence
    2. Good Lover
    3. Mr. Luck
    4. Let’s Get Together
    5. Ain’t That Loving You Baby
    6. Honest I Do
    7. High & Lonesome
    8. Baby What You Want Me To Do 9. Roll and Rhumba
    10. You Don’t Have To Go
    11. Shame Shame Shame
    12. I’m That Man Down There
    13. Got No Where To Go
    14. Big Boss Man
    15. I Ain’t Got You

Ronnie Wood is one of the foremost rock guitarists in the world, and a two-time inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, with the Rolling Stones and the Faces. National Inventors Hall of Fame 2022

Several innovation pioneers whose inventions range from cataract surgery to the modern automobile will be honored as part of the latest class of National Inventors Hall of Fame® (NIHF) Inductees.

In partnership with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), NIHF will honor these Inductees on May 5, 2022, at one of the innovation industry’s most highly anticipated events—“The Greatest Celebration of American Innovation®.”

“As a nation, we innovate and we grow. Advancing innovation and entrepreneurship is critical to the future of our country, and the National Inventors Hall of Fame Inductees inspire a culture of invention,” said Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo. “The Department of Commerce congratulates, and celebrates, NIHF’s 2022 class of Inductees.”

The Class of 2022

  • Marian Croak: VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) Technology

Engineer Marian Croak has worked on advancing Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technologies, converting voice data into digital signals that can be easily transmitted over the internet. Her work has allowed VoIP to become a practical reality by enabling reliability and high quality. Today, VoIP technology is vital for remote work and conferencing, as well as personal communications.

Engineer and entrepreneur Lonnie Johnson is the inventor of the Super Soaker®, which became a best-selling toy generating well over $1 billion in sales over its lifetime. Johnson’s longtime research focuses on energy technology, and his work today includes advances in rechargeable battery technology and thermodynamic technology to convert thermal energy to electrical energy.

  • Katalin Karikó and Dr. Drew Weissman: Modified mRNA Technology Used in COVID-19 Vaccines

Fundamental research by biochemist Katalin Karikó and immunologist Drew Weissman laid a critical piece of the foundation for the mRNA COVID-19 vaccines developed by Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna. The mRNA vaccines have been crucial in the fight against the COVID-19 respiratory disease caused by SARS-CoV 2, a new coronavirus discovered in 2019. Nearly 1 billion mRNA vaccine doses have been administered worldwide since December 2020.

Ophthalmologist Patricia Bath invented a new device and technique to remove cataracts known as laserphaco. Different than phacoemulsification that uses ultrasound, it could perform all steps of cataract removal, including making the surgical incision, destroying the lens and vacuuming out the fractured pieces.

German engineer Carl Benz was the first to design a car around the internal combustion engine rather than adding an engine to an existing wagon or carriage, a critical insight in auto evolution. By integrating the engine, chassis and drive into a single entity, Benz set the standard for all future automotive design and engineering.

James Buchanan Eads created a series of inventions during the 1800s that improved transportation and the military defense of the Mississippi River region. His widespread innovations were crucial to river salvage, the success of the Union Navy during the Civil War, and infrastructure and engineering that enabled major advances in commerce.

These seven innovators join the 22 NIHF Inductees announced in 2020, as all 29 will be honored as the class of 2022 at the Annual National Inventors Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. The Inductees announced in 2020 include:

“Innovation drives the worldwide economy forward and improves our quality of life. This is especially apparent given what we have experienced over the past 18 months. It’s why at the National Inventors Hall of Fame we are privileged to honor our country’s most significant inventors, who are giving the next generation the inspiration to innovate, create, and solve current and future problems,” said NIHF CEO Michael Oister.

Sponsors of the National Inventors Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony include the USPTO, Qualcomm, PhRMA and Walgreens Boots Alliance.

G Herbo – Stand the Rain

Unleashing the heat at a prolific pace, chart-topping phenom and platinum-selling G Herbo uncovers the music video for his latest single “Stand The Rain (Mad Max).” Watch it HERE. It’s available on his critically acclaimed chart-topping new album, 25, out now. Listen to 25: HERE

The black-and-white (and green) visual shot by No More Heroes opens with Herbo reading his own “30 Under 30” cover story in Forbes. However, the action unfolds in frenetic fashion as the clip follows him to church, the basketball court, and the gun range as he delivers each successive rhyme with more intensity than the last. No matter what, he’ll make you feel like you can “Stand The Rain” too.

It also arrives on the heels of the music video for “Cold World,” which has already clocked 2.4 million YouTube views and counting. Of the track, Complex claimed Herbo “is reaching new heights” as it also attracted plugs from The Source, Revolt, AllHipHop, and many more.

25 recently crashed the Top 5 of the Billboard Top 200. It not only became his second straight bow in the Top 10 of the chart, but it also emerged as his highest debut yet. It has amassed over 182 million streams and earned widespread praise. Starring on its latest cover, KAZI Magazine went as far as to christen him “Chicago’s Street Rap Messiah,” and HYPEBEAST dubbed it, “Arguably the rapper’s most vulnerable record to date.

G Herbo opens up like never before on the record. Complex hailed it as “a confessional album that opens a window into his world at the quarter-century mark.” His raps rip deeper, while the hooks hit harder than ever. He’s delivered a project that speaks to the struggles of the Windy City and this generation while showing it’s possible to build an empire.

As such, G Herbo has assembled his biggest, boldest, and the best body of work to date with 25. Among these 19 tracks, he recruited a cohort of A-list collaborators, including Polo G and Lil Tjay on “Cry No More,” 21 Savage on “T.O.P.”, and The Kid LAROI and Gunna on “You Can’t.” Through and through, his authoritative flows, incisive choruses, and raw heart shine.

He bulldozed a path for the project earlier this year with “Break Yoself,” and “Really Like That.” The FADER attested, “The tracks feel like siblings with their gunmetal-black sounds and visions of violence and wealth, though I can imagine turning up to ‘Really Like That’.” Plus, 25 boasts the fan-favorite “Statement,” nearing 10 million streams.

G Herbo is back, and he’s ready to flip the game upside down once and for all on 25. Merch including T-Shirts, Hoodies, and CD’s are available to shop HERE.

About G HERBO

After quietly grinding for years out of his native Chicago, G Herbo established himself as not only a platinum-selling, chart-topping phenomenon, but also as a staunch mental health advocate and proponent for change in the black community. Following a string of acclaimed projects, his critically celebrated third album PTSD bowed at #7 on the Billboard Top 200, received praise from Rolling Stone as “his most vulnerable album to date,” and yielded one of the most important songs of 2020—the platinum-certified title track “PTSD” [feat. Juice WRLD, Lil Uzi Vert, & Chance the Rapper]. Additionally, he launched the Swervin’ Through Stress youth mental health program which was recognized by Forbes 30 Under 30. To further his commitment to championing these causes, he is also remodeling an old, shuttered, public elementary school into a community center in Chicago. In 2021, he reached new heights yet again. His fourth full-length offering, 25, soared to the Top 5 of the Billboard Top 200, marking his second consecutive Top 10 and highest debut to date. Racking up hundreds of millions of streams right out of the gate, Pitchfork attested, “As Chicago’s G Herbo has gotten older, his music has become more urgent,” while he adorned KAZI’s cover. Simultaneously, he appeared on multiple #1 albums such as Pop Smoke’s Faith [“Run Down”] and The Kid LAROI’s F*CKLOVE3+:OVER YOU  [“Don’t Leave Me”] as well as collaborating with Dave East and Harry Fraud. With a larger-than-life fanbase, G Herbo has shared the stage with everyone from Miley Cyrus to Marshmello.

In the video, she gets dapper with her crew as she declares “that loyalty everything.”

Making her grand debut, Coi just took over New York Fashion Week. She rocked custom looks for both Moschino and Laquan Smith, and PAPER chronicled her domination this year.

Right now, she’s supporting Lil Baby and Lil Durk on The Back Outside Tour across North America. Check out the remaining dates below.

Leray’s last single, “Okay Yeah,” has amassed nearly 2 million streams to date. Uproxx praised the single, writing that Leray “extends her streak of consistent flexing by bragging about her wealth, shopping habits, and jewelry all while also brushing off her haters in the process.” Revolt wrote that Leray “has no plans of letting up.” Not to mention, “Okay Yeah” notably features on the blockbuster Madden 22 in-game and on the Official Soundtrack Album.

It arrives in the wake of her recent banger “At The Top” [feat. Kodak Black & Mustard]. To date, it has racked up over 4.2 million streams and earned widespread praise. UPROXX highlighted “variety of flows from the lilting melody of the hook to a Playboi Carti-esque, clipped cadence at the beginning of her verse,” and The Source assured “Coi Leray is keeping her hot streak going.” HotNewHipHop put it best, “she’s only concerned with things that will help her ‘elevate,’ and she’s stuck to her word.” Not to mention, she stands out as among this year’s coveted XXL “Freshman Class.”

Coi shows no signs of stopping or slowing down. In 2021, she served up “Bout Me.” Receiving critical acclaim, Complex praised her integration of “of pop and hip-hop worlds, with her oscillating between staccato raps and warbling, auto-tuned vocals,” and Hip Hop Weekly noted she “keeps the hits coming.”

It followed closely on the heels of the blockbuster music video for “BIG PURR (Prrd)” which recently earned RIAA Gold Certification.  Right out of the gate, it racked up 1.7 million views in less than a week. HipHopDX raved, “One of 2021’s hottest collaborations has an even hotter video to match its Billboard-blazing hype,” and UPROXX put it best, “Coi Leray’s 2021 is off to a fantastic start.” It’s already amassed over 40 million total streams and counting.

Since its release, “BIG PURR (Prrd)” has spawned 660K-plus videos on TikTok with nearly 50 million views. The song has also charted on the Billboard Hot 100 and Rolling Stone Top 100 songs charts, where it continues to climb. Its predecessor “No More Parties” picked up her first gold plaque from the RIAA and scaled the Billboard Hot 100, where it’s ascending the top 30. It soundtracked nearly 500k videos on TikTok with over 71.5 million views. The “No More Parties (Remix)” music video remains in the Top 10 most watched videos on VEVO and a fixture in mtvU’s rotation.

Coi also made her television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon with a performance of “No More Parties.” Watch it HERE.

Deanna Carter – Did I Shave My Legs for This?

To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Deana Carter‘s 5X platinum debut album Did I Shave My Legs for This?, Carter announced this morning on The Bobby Bones Show that Capitol Nashville/UMe will release Did I Shave My Legs For This? 25th Anniversary Edition on November 5, but it isn’t just Carter doing the singing this time around. The project includes two new tracks with Carter performing and producing 2021 versions of the CMA award-winning, and 2X platinum hit single “Strawberry Wine,” featuring  Lauren Alaina, Martina McBride, Ashley McBryde, Kylie Morgan, and Vince Gill on guitar, as well as the title track, featuring Terri Clark, Sara Evans, Ashley McBryde, and Vince Gill.

The 25th anniversary editions of the album have been remastered from the original recordings and will be released on CD with two bonus tracks, as well as a Digital Deluxe with an additional ten songs, seven of which will be available digitally for the first time. Pre-order/Pre-save HERE

“I am beyond blown away to see the generational connection between my first single, ‘Strawberry Wine’ and all the fans, young and seasoned,” award-winning country singer-songwriter.

Carter shares. “Being a part of a song that has become an anthem for the ’90s and beyond is such a blessing and more than I could’ve ever dreamed of. The fans have been the catalyst for the success of “Strawberry Wine” and the whole Shave album because of their connection to the truth and realness behind the songs.

“They lived it, just like I did, and just like all of my collaborators did. It was an honor to re-record two favorites with my fellow female artists who inspire me and who I admire. These new versions are a way of raising a glass to everyone who loves these songs, and to the country radio stations still playing them, and to say thank you. I hope everyone enjoys celebrating 25 years of Did I Shave My Legs For This? as much as I’ve enjoyed putting together these very special releases.”

1997 CMA Single and Song of the Year “Strawberry Wine,” written by Matraca Berg and Gary Harrison, was also nominated for a GRAMMY for Best Country Song, the Academy of Country Music Awards Best Country Song,  and the Country Music Radio Awards for Song of the Year. Carter co-wrote the title track “Did I Shave My Legs for This?” with Rhonda Hart.

“Who knew that some girl talk would end up becoming a cultural catchphrase for decades to come? Wow! This song is proof that a genuine, heartfelt message can be delivered with a sense of humor,” she added, “yet stand firm in the conviction to not settle for less in this life. Thanks to all the ladies who have sung this anthem at the top of their lungs and to my record label for letting me boldly title my debut album so memorably.”

Other chart-toppers from Carter‘s debut album included “We Danced Anyway” (co-written by Berg and Randy Scruggs), “How Do I Get There” (co-written by Carter and Chris Farren), and “Count Me In” (co-written by Carter and Chuck Jones).

As part of the album’s 25th Anniversary celebration, Carter will perform on the Grand Ole Opry Saturday, October 16, as part of the Opry’s 4,998th show. To purchase tickets, click HERE.

Top Five Hidden Tips for Buying the Right Bathtub Cushion

If you’re looking forward to a long, peaceful soak after a long day at work, but you know the harsh edge of your bathtub will cause neck and backache. With a suitable bathtub cushion, no more suffering! To enhance your posture and decrease neck, shoulder, and back strains that lead to pain, invest in a bath pillow to support your neck and back. Here are some hidden factors to keep in mind while buying a bath pillow.

Choose Durable Pillow

Choose pillows made of high-quality, long-lasting materials. Select materials that can handle both hot and cold temperatures. For excellent support of your neck, shoulder, and back, a pillow should be firm. For comfort and durability, choose an option that combines foam and vinyl for the exterior. Some bath pillows come with a lifetime money-back guarantee, showing that the maker is confident in their product’s durability. Proper storage of your pillow increases its durability thus increased service.

Easy Maintenance

Pillows made of easy-to-clean and dry materials are ideal. Choose a machine-washable product if you don’t want to hand-wash it. Some pillows come with a hook that to hang them to dry and ventilates them faster. To avoid bacteria growth, clean and disinfect your pillow after each use. Do not iron our pillow, just dry air it.

Think About The Shape And Size Of Your Bathtub

Bath pillows come in unique designs. They come in different shapes and sizes. You should consider the size of your bathtub and choose one that fits the shape and size of your bathtub. Always check the comfort that the pillows offer. It should give your neck and back the support they need.

Check The Suction Cups

Bath pillows come with suction cups. Imagine trying to relax in your bathtub with your pillow slipping and requiring constant repositioning. It can be tiring and irritating, and you cannot relax as you had imagined. When attached to a bathtub, suction cups give your bath pillows firmness, preventing them from slipping. Look for pillows with extra-large suction cups; the more suction cups, the more the pillow stick to the tub.

Material Used

Fabric and inflatable plastic are the two types of materials used to make bath pillows. Inflatable plastic is completely waterproof and dries quickly. Though it is portable, it is uncomfortable compared to fabric bath pillows and can easily slip when you’re enjoying your bath. Fabric pillows are gentle on the skin and provide luxurious comfort. They contain a breathable mesh material that does not irritate your skin or cause sore necks and backs, although they take longer to dry.

Conclusion

To avoid rapid wear and tear, as well as mold and mildew, you must take care of your bath pillow, just as you would shower curtains and mats. Bath pillows can help relieve headaches and muscle discomfort by turning your bath into a relaxing experience thus giving you Everlasting Comfort. Bathing in a nice and relaxing tub will not only give you comfort but it can also be therapeutic and can help you relax and sleep better at night.
