The track has been a fan favorite ever since its original release as part of the Amazon Originals series in 2018.

Masego, who has amassed over two billion combined global streams in his career to date, recently earned his first GRAMMY nomination. Studying Abroad: Extended Stay (EQT Recordings/Capitol Records), the deluxe edition of his acclaimed EP, is nominated for Best Progressive R&B Album. The collection includes the hit “Mystery Lady Ft. Don Toliver” plus the beautifully reimagined “Mystery Lady (Sego’s Remix).” Combined global streams of “Mystery Lady” have soared past the 150 million mark.

“Favorite Tings” completes the trio of celebratory singles released by Masego in recent months. Released in October, “Garden Party” ft. Big Boi and JID has amassed 3.2 million combined streams and was praised by NPR as “a lush neo-soul single that unveils wonderland.”  November brought “Yamz” with Devin Morrison, which is climbing the Mediabase R&B chart and creating a buzz on Shazam. VIBE said, “‘Yamz’ demands the attention of R&B purists,” and went on to praise “the duo’s sultry singing and the song’s seductive production.” The official video, which was directed by Mac Grant (Earthgang, J.I.D, Childish Major), is in rotation on MTVU.. The Black Friday drop of “Yamz”  merchandise quickly sold out, prompting a second run of “Yamz” shorts, which will be available January 10, 2022.

About Masego

Masego is a singular talent and surprising presence who cites 1930s Harlem big bandleader Cab Calloway as a guiding spirit and was mentored by DJ Jazzy Jeff. His 2018 debut album, Lady, Lady, included the breakout hit single “Tadow.” With more than one billion combined global streams, the song is certified Platinum in the U.S., Diamond in Brazil, and Gold in Mexico.

AV Club hailed Masego as “excellence in human form.” VIBE praised him as a “self-taught saxophonist, pianist, singer, and producer here to give an old soul sound a fresh new take in today’s hip-hop climate.” XXL observed, “Masego has created and curated a new wave.”

aldn × midwxst – Go Away

Reston, VA artist aldn has been consistently rolling out incredible visuals from his debut EP, predictable (released November 17). The music video for “Go Away” is released. The collaborative track with fellow hyperpop artist midwxst is sullen and captures the emotions and feelings around a deceptive love and relationships that drag on beyond its expiry date. Directed by John Peterson, the video is shot in the streets of New York and features the real-life best friends in reverse. Watch the video above or via link HERE

midwxst and I shot the video the same day as the Overcast N Friends show, had a fun time running and gunning different shots basically planning the video out as we went. So happy with how it turned out,” said aldn.

Fans will be able to catch “Go Away” live as aldn joins Glaive’s upcoming national tour that will kick off in February alongside midwxst.

About aldn

Twenty-year-old aldn has been prolific in the hyperpop community for his production skills, but it wasn’t until he started laying his own vocals to the self-produced beats that it took off for the Reston, VA artist. aldn’s music turns pop songwriting on its head and finds a way to get stuck with the listener for hours on end. With its glitchy production and saccharine like melodies, aldn’s dark world is inverted through his music. While growing up in the urban jungle of Reston, he was exposed to the work of The Smiths, Radiohead, Skrillex, and deadmau5 through his brother and father. At the age of 11, he taught himself how to use an Ableton launchpad and imitate lo-fi beats. From there, he began making lo-fi and rap beats and releasing them on Soundcloud while quarantining with friends at Virginia Commonwealth University. As the whole world transitioned to a virtual existence, he turned to Discord for a sense of community which is where his breakout hit “glittr” gained massive traction—the remastered version now racks up over three million plays on Spotify. In 2021, he dropped the greenhouse EP which saw collaborations with glaive (“what was the last thing u said”), midwxst (“happy ever after”) and renforshort (“dog eat dog”). Finding inspiration in filmmaker Gaspar Noé to shapeshifting artists like Crystal Castles, Yung Lean, and Bladee, aldn’s upcoming debut EP switches gears in favor of being even more experimental in a lane of his own.

J.I.D – Ambassel

Atlanta rapper/artist J.I.D has released visualizer for his track “Ambassel,” which appears on the recently released NFL Madden 22 video game soundtrack. The video spotlights the East Atlanta ‘playboy’—and former highschool/college football star—at the famed Mercedes Benz stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons performing along to the head bopping, dizzying track. Later this month, fans will be able to catch J.I.D and his Dreamville cohort at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO returning to the live stage to do what he does best.

About J.I.D

Born and raised in East Atlanta, Grammy nominated J.I.D grew up on his parents’ collection of classic funk/soul LPs, and broke onto the scene with his 2015 EP, DiCaprio. The EP saw him collaborating with hip-hop duo EARTHGANG, whom he’d previously joined on a 2014 tour also including Bas and Ab-Soul. This is where he was spotted by J.Cole who promptly signed J.I.D to his Interscope Records venture, Dreamville Records. Soon after signing to Dreamville, J.I.D made his major-label debut with the widely celebrated The Never Story (2017). The effort was closely followed by critically acclaimed album DiCaprio 2 (2018) which received major looks from Rolling Stone, Billboard, NPR and more. In 2019, J.I.D continued his momentum as rap’s most exciting additions with stellar contributions on Dreamville’s Platinum certified compilation Revenge of the Dreamers III which went on to debut #1 on the Billboard Top 200 charts and received multiple GRAMMY nominations including “Best Rap Album” and “Best Rap Performance.”

J.I.D’s nimble, head-nodding lyricism and lightning fast flow has awarded him a loyal and cult-like fanbase who have joined the rapper at countless sold out shows across the globe. A mainstay on the festival circuit, J.I.D has brought down arena level crowds at Lollapalooza, Laneway Festival and would have made his Coachella debut if not for the pandemic. Not much seems out of reach for this Atlanta native who’s rise to superstardom seems almost imminent.

Listen/Download Golden Child HERE

Watch Bompton 2 Balabasas Acoustic Street Visual HERE

Vulnerable, raw and untamed perfectly describe Compton native Wallie The Sensei, who’s latest musical effort Golden Child is out today. The 17-track mixtape which includes his breakout single Scandalous is heavily influenced by Wallie’s California roots and sonically redefines the legendary west coast sound. Listen HERE.

From start to finish, Wallie takes his listeners on a journey through his hometown of Compton where he speaks on his struggle to survive the cutthroat streets while always in pursuit of money, success and all the sweet things life has to offer. Make no mistake, Golden Child isn’t a story of tragedy, but a story of triumph, hustle and ultimately defeating a system designed for Wallie to fail.

Golden Child comes on the heels of Wallie’s 03 Flow single which currently has over half a million views and over 1.5 million US streams. A true labor of love, 03 Flow pays homage to Watts native and fellow recording artist 03 Greedo who is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence. 03 Flow has quickly become a fan favorite, taking on a life on its own with radio support, consistent increase in streams and critical praises from music peers like PnB Rock, industry heavyweights, radio DJs & more. On the record Wallie passionately sings niggas playing like they demons, they don’t really mean it, choppa spray like we cleanin, bodies dropping on that cement, Wallie’s passion is intently felt on the song and has become the heart of the Golden Child project.

Golden Child also includes Wallie’s team-up with Detroit powerhouse 42 Dugg on the enthralling remix of Wallie’s own hit single Scandalous. The two trade bars with ease and confidence, as Wallie offers up some of his most lucid lines, recounting the struggles of success and the haters who would come for his head. Additional stand out tracks include Lamb, the lush throwback finds Wallie effortlessly singing over a buttery beat, showcasing his one-of-a-kind flow and knack for incisive lyrics about his come-up. B*tch, nobody had it in my fam, I put my foot down, he sings. Put my other foot down like I could drive this car, let the motherf***kin hood down. In Lamb, Wallie walks recollects his life’s trajectory beginning with his time on the streets, his narratives are poetic and detailed, rivaling rap’s most vivid writers.
