Fresh off the heels of the release of his brand-new single “Make You Say” with Maren Morris and BEAUZ (Click HERE), GRAMMY® award-winning global superstar, Zedd, announces he will perform Clarity live for one night only with a 50-piece orchestra to celebrate his iconic Platinum debut album’s 10-year anniversary. For the first-time ever, Zedd will be recreating the chart-topping 2012 album by performing it in its entirety, allowing fans to experience the project in a totally new and unique way. The incredibly special and once in a lifetime concert will take place on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at the legendary Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. Artist pre-sale tickets will be available on Thursday, August 25th at 10am local time, signup HERE. General on-sale tickets will be available on Friday, August 26th at 10am local time. It’s a dream to have the opportunity to play all of those ideas orchestrated and reharmonized with the instrumentation in the amazing orchestra we have put together.”

This is just one of many celebrations for the 10-year anniversary of Clarity, which includes an honorary show on October 7th at the Bill Graham Civic Center Auditorium in San Francisco where Zedd will be playing the original album from start to finish, along with more surprises to come.

Kenny Foster – Somewhere in Middle America

Rising singer-songwriter Kenny Foster has released his latest single, “Somewhere In Middle America,” available on all digital streaming platforms and digital download now. The warm-hearted track paints a picture of a rural landscape where small town folks live simple lives, learning life’s biggest lessons—a place somewhere in middle America. The title track off Kenny’s upcoming album, due out in early summer, builds a sense of community and sets the scene for the album’s other tracks to exist within.

“To help frame the record as a whole, this song is creating a sonic landscape that people can feel,” says Foster. “I wanted people that are never going to drive through Middle America to viscerally feel what it’s like to be there and for those that live there, I wanted to create something that resonated, sort of a nod, an ‘if-you-know-you-know’ situation.”

Taken from the pages of Kenny’s own story, “Somewhere In Middle America” explores the often overlooked and unpolished way of life in America’s heartland. The song illustrates the humble, yet wonderfully colorful, tapestry that is Middle America—eggs on the griddle, prom kings alongside Dairy Queens, sage wisdom from porch swing prophets, and a culture where having just enough was all you needed—for Kenny, this is home.

About Kenny Foster

Kenny Foster has shared the stage with artists including Maren Morris, Kacey Musgraves, Brothers Osborne, Old Dominion, Patty Griffin, Buddy Miller, Butch Walker, Lady A, and countless others. He was named one of the “Top 10 New Artists You Need to Know” by Rolling Stone and has been featured in the New York Times, Washington Post, USA Today, and Forbes. He has appeared in two Super Bowl commercials with Sheryl Crow and Danica Patrick, respectively. Kenny is also honored to be included in the CMA Foundation “It Starts with M.E.” National Campaign for Music Education and performed as part of the CMA Songwriters Series, alongside songwriting legends Lori McKenna, Marcus Hummon, Lee Thomas Miller, and Tenille Townes. Kenny has performed at the highly-acclaimed C2C Festival in London, and was also invited to perform at the launch of C2C Berlin and at the famed Melkweg venue in Amsterdam as support for Hunter Hayes, as well as recent domestic festival appearances at the ACM Party for a Cause, Americanafest and CMA Fest, among others. Kenny headlined an Armed Forces tour to Asia, performing at bases in Guam, Singapore and Diego Garcia.

Kenny is a long-time partner with the non-profit organization CreatiVets who pair Nashville songwriters with veterans to create a song out of their experiences that tells their story and hopefully provides some catharsis and healing. They released an album of these songs on Big Machine Records called “Veteran Songs” on July 4th, 2020 which included “Light Like Mine” co-written and performed by Foster. Additionally, Kenny hosted 32 episodes of a weekly online series called “Kuarantine with Kenny” for Sound of Nashville, featuring guests like Cam, Drake White, Lindsay Ell, and many others. Over this last year, Kenny has also released a series of singles called “The Vintage Collection” which are a culmination of demos of songs that, to this point, have only been heard at live shows but have included some fan favorites, including a duet with Mae Estes “Love You Now” (Co-written with Kirsti Manna of Blake Shelton’s “Austin”), “Lonely Land” (Co-written with Mando Saenz and Chris Rafetto) and “It Don’t Work Like That” (Co-written with Melissa Fuller).

Joy Oladokun – In Defense of My Own Happiness

Joy Oladokun debuts new song, judas, from the deluxe album in defense of my own happiness (complete).

Breakthrough singer, songwriter and musician Joy Oladokun’s new deluxe album, in defense of my own happiness (complete), is out today via Amigo Records/Verve Forecast/Republic Records. The special extended edition includes all 14 tracks from her major label debut, in defense of my own happiness, as well as the ten additional songs from her self-released 2020 record, in defense of my own happiness (the beginnings), and one new track, judas.

In celebration of the new music, Oladokun will be featured on NPR’s “All Things Considered” this afternoon speaking with host Ari Shapiro, and recently made her debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert performing sunday from Nashville’s newly opened National Museum of African American Music.

Released last month via Amigo Records/Verve Forecast/Republic Records, in defense of my own happiness finds Oladokun forging her own path, sharing the unique perspective she’s gained from living in today’s world as a black, queer woman and first-generation child of Nigerian immigrants. Born in Arizona and now living in Nashville, her musical exploration began at age ten when she was inspired to learn guitar after seeing a video of Tracy Chapman—the first time she’d ever seen a black woman play the instrument.

Recently named one of the “Best Albums of 2021 So Far” by Rolling Stone and Variety, and one of Billboard’s “Best Albums by LGBTQ Artists of 2021 So Far,” in defense of my own happiness features special collaborations with Maren Morris (Bigger Man), Jensen McRae (wish you the best) and Penny & Sparrow (heaven from here) and continues to receive widespread critical praise:

“She has a remarkable ability to distill how forces at work in the world…she can make even social and political protest feel like an intimate, warmly human act”—NPR Music

“a serious talent with a kind of low-key, casual ease…she’s always seeking out the light to point the way, making for one of the year’s most uplifting listens.”—Rolling Stone

“one of the hottest new singer-songwriters making music…surgical songwriting and soulful vocals that will send chills down your spine on each repeat listen.”—Billboard

“Joy Oladokun is a rare talent who manages to dissect Christianity, queerness, race and mental wellness with a delicate yet determined touch”—Vogue

“Oladokun’s message is not only timely, but essential.”—them.

“a stunning major label debut…any Nashville musician worth their salt should be pinching themselves to work with Oladokun, among the most exciting talents this city has seen in years.”—The Tennessean

“the rising singer-songwriter proves her worth as a master storyteller”—American Songwriter

Furthering her breakout year, Oladokun will tour throughout the fall including upcoming performances at Newport Folk Festival, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, and Austin City Limits as well as several dates supporting Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit and Dermot Kennedy.

Oladokun has continued to receive widespread attention in the past year, including recent performances of album track, breathe again, on NBC’s TODAY and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The song also received a key placement on NBC’s This Is Us, propelling the track to reach #3 on Shazam’s U.S. Top 200 while also charting globally. Additionally, Oladokun has been named a member of the inaugural #YouTubeBlack Voices Class of 2021, an NPR Music/Slingshot’s 2021 Artists to Watch, a Billboard LGBTQ Artist of the Month, Spotify’s RADAR US: Artists to Watch 2021, Amazon Music’s Artists to Watch 2021 and Vogue’s #1 New LGBTQ Artists to Listen to Now, and was recently highlighted as part of HULU’s “Your Attention Please: The Concert ” alongside 24kGoldn, Kiana Ledé, Lil Yachty, and Swae Lee. In addition to This Is Us, her music has been featured on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, ABC’s Station 19 and NBC’s America’s Got Talent. Oladokun also recently teamed up with the ever-popular life simulation game The Sims™ 4 as part of their first-ever in-game music event alongside Bebe Rexha and Glass Animals.

“’Drunk’ is a fist-pump, feel good, girl-power anthem from these two country power houses, with a nostalgic, pastel music video to match.”

360 Magazine

“This may be end up being a top-10 pop song, country song, and rock song of 2021.”

“Brilliant stuff here at the intersection King’s sassy roots-rock shtick, Lambert’s sassy country shtick, and the Nashville mainstream’s constant drift toward arena rock.”

Stereogum

“…a euphoric collaboration…exhilarating new duet.”
“When the chorus hits, it’s neon-spattered, banjo-flecked euphoria that fits perfectly with the idea of blowing off steam well into the wee hours.”

Rolling Stone

“Firebrands King and Lambert hit one out of the bar with this singalong ode to handing your keys to the bartender and drinking all night because you don’t want to go home. The song will fuel a thousand karaoke nights and a million bridal parties, but it’s the cotton candy-colored video that really sells it, with King as a feisty bride and Lambert as the maid of honor who’s the first to spike the punch.”

“… an enjoyable glass-raising anthem, but it’s the way that the ‘Ex’s and Oh’s’ singer and country veteran complement one another on the track that denotes a longstanding bond, and an opportunity to listen in on their fun.”

Billboard
“Elle King and Miranda Lambert’s Duet ‘Drunk’ Is an ‘All-In’ Party of an Event”

“Drunk” is a memorable, feel-good anthem.”

CMT

“…a rip-roarin’ good time!”
“…this catchy tribute to a blackout night, complete with a fun-filled, wedding-themed music video…”

Miranda Lambert and Elle King’s ‘Drunk’”- Watch HERE

Entertainment Tonight

“…hilarious music video…”
People

“Country superstar Miranda Lambert and rocker Elle King let loose for a wild-night duet …up-tempo anthem…features a driving rhythmic stomp and maxed out country-rock edge, mixing rolling banjos with party-all-night vocals. Lambert leads the rebellious second verse and also blends her vocal in with King’s gritty delivery throughout, and King says track’s devil-may-care attitude suits them both well.”
Sounds Like Nashville

“It’s a wild wedding — and Miranda and Elle are there to party.”
The Boot

“the badassery levels are off the charts. Co-written by King and Martin Johnson, it’s a fun tribute to staying out till dawn and drinking the night away (remember that?).”

Whiskey Riff

“…unapologetic anthem…a first pumping, banjo-led party song to rule any dance floor.”

“’Drunk’ is coasting at the top of the charts right now because the track crosses any sort of existing genre barriers – the long hailing queen of country revenge tales and the rock/pop King belting out how they’re both not ready to leave the cash bar just yet. It’s a wedding party we all want to be a part of.”

Earmilk

“…a dizzying new party anthem”

“One-time tourmates Miranda Lambert and Elle King join forces once again for the genre-bending party banger…”

ABC Radio News

“Fun, upbeat…Exhilarating…a party anthem all about living your best life on the spur of the moment.”

Kathryn Dean × High School Nation

Singer, songwriter and recording artist Kathryn Dean performed her newest anthem “Friends (Don’t Wanna Be)” exclusively on High School Nation’s QuaranTeen Instagram Live series on Monday, June 22nd at noon PST, as part of an exclusive engagement for the community platform. Dean’s exclusive 7-song performance, streamed on the company’s Instagram Live, featured all new songs, including an unreleased stripped-down version of “Told You So,” the pop songstress’ 2014 international breakthrough hit, which earned her a devout following in Latin America and has to date garnered over 30-million views on YouTube. An exclusive, live fan Q&A with iHeart Radio host TyeHollywood preceded the performance, both of which can be viewed on High School Nation’s IGTV profile here.

When asked about her plan for the performance, Dean said she feels it is important to, “address the emotional struggle that comes from trying to maintain relationships while being separated from one another, and to celebrate our ability to overcome obstacles and grow from those experiences.”

Via her social media yesterday, Dean announced a contest that will give fans the opportunity to design official cover art for her next single “Exhale.” The winner will have their design featured as the track’s official artwork when it releases this coming fall across all digital and streaming platforms. Watch the announcement here for further details.

Showcasing Dean’s impressive vocal range, “Friends (Don’t Wanna Be)” tackles the emotional struggle that comes with being separated from one another, and the celebration of our ability to overcome such obstacles. Dean said of writing the song, “What started as a way to work through my mixed emotions turned into a reminder that my need to create music and desire to achieve my dream are stronger than anyone’s efforts to diminish my confidence for the benefit of their egos.” One of those dreams, to write chart topping songs, is a milestone she has been striving for since she began writing and recording original music in high school.

Working to achieve this goal since high school, most recently, Dean has embarked on a mission to make a chart topping single with acclaimed producer and pop chart veteran of nearly 20 #1 hits, Sandy Vee (Katy Perry, “Firework,” Rihanna, “Only Girl in the World,” David Guetta, “Sexy Bitch” and many more). Their creative process will be the subject of a docuseries, with the first episode due out later this year. The series follows Dean and Sandy as they embark on a mission to make her high school dreams come true with Sandy’s next chart topping single. As they progress, the duo relies on Sandy’s years of success, insight and experience combined with KD’s fresh lyrical style and powerful, Adele-rivaling, vocals to navigate obstacles and adapt to making music under quarantine. Capturing a unique time in music history, Dean and Sandy Vee offer audiences a raw look at the formula of art and science behind creating a hit song, from writing its first notes to recording, releasing and performing the song. Viewers will get the chance to follow this unconventional approach and be offered unique opportunities to engage with Dean and Sandy as their process unfolds. The episodic series will culminate with a feature length documentary film submission for Sundance and the Film Festival circuit in 2021.

All High School Nation subscribers currently have exclusive access to download “Friends (Don’t Wanna Be)” now via an exclusive code. The track is officially set to release on July 17th to all digital and streaming platforms. For more information, please visit https://highschoolnation.com/.
