Taylor Swift, Aaron Dessner (The National), Jack Antonoff (Bleachers) and Justin Vernon (Bon Iver) created an album that crossed genres — a musical journey that allows us to cry and laugh, and during these trying times, makes us feel like we’re not quite so alone. They recorded “folklore” thousands of miles apart from each other and had never been in the same room together…

…until now

“folklore: the long pond studio sessions” was filmed in upstate New York in September 2020 and will premiere exclusively on Disney+ on Wednesday, November 25, at 12:01AM PT. Taylor, accompanied by co-producers Aaron Dessner and Jack Antonoff along with a guest appearance by Justin Vernon (Bon Iver), performs each song in order of her critically adored, five star album, “folklore” and for the very first time, reveals the stories and secrets behind all 17 songs.

“folklore: the long pond studio sessions” was directed by Taylor Swift and filmed on 6 x Lumix S1H mirrorless cameras with Leica lenses embedded in the studio, along with a one Alexa LF with an Angenieux 24-290 on a Furio robotic camera with 30+ feet of curved track.

Taylor Swift Achieves 12 New RIAA Certifications

Taylor Swift has garnered a total of 12 new certifications from the RIAA. Among them, her critically-acclaimed, 5 star 2020 album, folklore, has achieved gold and now certified platinum status.

The new album, folklore arrived this summer and quickly gained widespread acclaim and major audience excitement. It rapidly became the top-selling record of 2020 worldwide and is the only album this year to cross 1 million albums in pure sales in the U.S.

Swift notably completed “the longest consecutive run at number one since 2016” by acquiring six straight weeks at the top of the Billboard 200 chart. Additionally, folklore returns to number one this week on the Billboard 200 chart, reaching eight nonconsecutive weeks at the top of the chart. What’s even more notable, Taylor has achieved 48 cumulative weeks at number one across all of her chart-topping albums which marks a record among women artists.

Other RIAA certifications include “You Need To Calm Down” which minted triple-platinum, platinum, and gold and “The Man” which is certified gold and platinum. Her song “Me,” featuring Brendon Urie of Panic! At The Disco, is now double-platinum. Additionally, the single “Lover” picked up gold, platinum, and double-platinum certifications.

Taylor stands out as the only artist to have seven albums each sell at least 500,000 copies in a single week. Her albums, Fearless, Speak Now, RED, 1989, reputation, Lover and folklore, have all been a stellar success. Plus, she remains the first and only female artist in the 21st century to score five number one studio albums in the UK.

Folklore is the ten-time GRAMMY® Award-winning, record-breaking superstar’s eighth album and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for Swift.

Stage 13 × Two Sentence Horror Stories

STAGE 13 LAUNCHES ORIGINAL SCRIPTED HORROR ANTHOLOGY SERIES ‘TWO SENTENCE HORROR STORIES’

ON go90 TUESDAY, OCTOBER 3

Stage 13, the fearless digital content brand that is part of Warner Bros. Digital Networks, and Verizon’s mobile entertainment destination go90 today announced the psychological horror anthology series “Two Sentence Horror Stories” will be premiering on October 3rd exclusively on go90. “Two Sentence Horror Stories” marks Stage 13’s second series to launch on go90.

The critically acclaimed “Two Sentence Horror Stories” has enjoyed unprecedented recognition from major film festivals, including Tribeca Film Festival, LA Film Festival, Outfest, SeriesFest and Fantastic Fest and won the FOX Inclusion Award at this year’s Outfest.

A fresh and provocative anthology series inspired by the viral fan fiction of two sentence horror stories, it taps into universal primal fears — death, abandonment, and loneliness — filtered through the anxieties of the most connected and racially diverse generation.

Created by Writer/Director/Producer Vera Miao (“Best Friends Forever”), the series’ episodes each has its own director: Miao and acclaimed horror directors Danny Perez (“Antibirth”), JD Dillard (“Sleight” and upcoming “Sweetheart”) and Ryan Spindell (“The Babysitter Murders”).

Each episode is inspired by its own horror story told in two sentences and uses the genre as of way to weave in social horror and a range of contemporary issues including racism, LGBTQ, cyber-bullying and the pursuit of beauty. The five-episode series will be available on go90.com, part of Verizon’s global media portfolio of video content and platforms with a new episode available every Tuesday starting on October 3rd.

“Two Sentence Horror Stories” episodes will premiere every Tuesday in the following order:

  • “Ma” (directed by Vera Miao): When Mona falls for Erica, the new neighbor next door, she learns how far Ma will go to keep her “perfect” Chinese daughter home.
  • “Snap” (directed by Danny Perez): A notoriously cruel celebrity blogger dismisses a mysterious foe as harmless…until he wakes up to a video of himself sleeping on his own phone.
  • “Guilt Trip” (directed by JD Dillard): After picking up a victim of police brutality, a Good Samaritan is forced to rethink her decision on the dark and isolated road with the stranger in her car.
  • “Singularity” (directed by Vera Miao): After a transgender biohacker implants revolutionary technology into her own body, she is terrified to discover she can tap more than just the internet.
  • “Second Skin” (directed by Ryan Spindell): When a street-smart young woman accepts an invitation to a luxurious spa, she discovers just how far the powerful patrons will go to stay on the cutting edge of beauty.

“Vera Miao and the creative team behind ‘Two Sentence Horror Stories’ produced five chilling and twisted episodes with a cinematic aesthetic that will keep horror fans on their toes and wanting more,” said Diana Mogollón, SVP and General Manager Stage 13. “The series features stories and characters that reflect the diversity that young audiences crave, which is what Stage 13 and go90 are all about.”

SOLANGE × PETER LINDBERGH

ANOTHER MAGAZINE RELEASES BONUS PHOTOS FROM SOLANGE’S AVANT-GARDE SHOOT WITH PETER LINDBERGH

ANOTHER MAGAZINE AUTUMN/WINTER PRINT COVER FEATURING SOLANGE ON STANDS THIS WEEK

Today, AnOther Magazine’s Autumn/Winter cover story with songwriter, recording artist, and visual art luminary Solange is available on stands, with additional photos from the provocative shoot appearing online now.

The high fashion, art and culture magazine this month features Solange in an avant-garde pictorial by Peter Lindbergh and interview by Lynette Nylander. The full story and exclusive online photos can be viewed here: http://www.anothermag.com/fashion-beauty/10141/the-full-story-solange-knowles-for-another-magazine-a-w17

“Magazine making is all about creating surprises and world firsts. Solange wearing Rick Owens on the beach lensed by Peter Lindbergh is fashion and cultural history. I am honored that Solange chose to work with AnOther Magazine for our Autumn/Winter cover. She represents a new feminine beauty that is confident, defiant and fearless. A perfect fashion cover for our time.” – Jefferson Hack, Group Editorial Director of Dazed Media

Solange Knowles is a woman whose ability to connect with people and her own heritage is unprecedented. She is among the strongest creative voices of her generation: fiercely independent and uncompromising. We are very proud to have her on the cover of this issue, photographed by the Peter Lindbergh, styled by Robbie Spencer, and wearing clothes designed by equally independent and uncompromising fashion designers.” – Susannah Frankel, Editor-in-chief of AnOther Magazine

The print edition of the story is on stands Wednesday in London and everywhere else Thursday, September 14th.

Find quotes from Lynette Nylander’s AnOther Magazine article about Solange below:

“If ever proof were needed that Knowles is a symbol of her times it is here. Because whether through her digital platform, her live shows or her intimate albums, she offers many a sense of belonging they have never felt before, a feeling that they are not alone.”

“With cultural conflicts and intergenerational racism prevalent in American headlines, she chose to embrace the pain expressed in the media.”

“She set up shop on an old sugar plantation and used the experience to spiritually connect with her ancestry, which is rooted in the Southern state, embarking on what she called “a pursuit of truth and beauty”. The results are generational anthems that cut through in a similar way to Billie Holliday’s Strange Fruit and Nina Simone’s Young, Gifted and Black.”

“I sense that she has become a conduit for a previously unspoken message: the tiredness that black people feel every day about the lack of progress there has been since the stories told by their parents’ parents, and in these admissions she’s appealing to a black audience without alienating a white one.”

“She has compounded a personal narrative and has taken it public, creating a dialogue with [people of color] all over the world – those who not only just get it, they live it. Knowles empowers them through any indignity suffered, imbuing them with the confidence to be unapologetically black.”
