12AM × Tyla Yaweh × Pressa – Showgirls

LA-by-way-of-Toronto artist on the rise 12AM (aka Matthew Dubois) bursts into 2022 with a bang, linking up with Tyla Yaweh and Pressa for new heat “Showgirls” out now via Sony Music Entertainment Canada.

12AM revealed the official video directed by Logan Meis (Trippie Redd, Dax, The Kid Laroi, Polo G). It’s a high contrast, moody, and cinematic experience in itself. “Showgirls” peeks into a late-night burlesque show gone awry. The night manifests into a master scheme of kidnapping, robbery, and murder. While corrupt wealthy men put their guard down for some debauchery, they’re clipped of their wallets and prized possessions. The lights go off and the show concludes, leaving the club patrons in the dust. In the end, 12AM (aka the club owner) and the showgirls meet Tyla and Pressa (12AM and the showgirls’ partners in crime) at the hideout. Watch now HERE.

The single follows the success of “come over,” the lead track from 12AM‘s latest After Midnight EP that has amassed over 5 million streams. While After Midnight served as a redefinition of 12AM’s sound, “Showgirls” takes 12AM back to his Toronto roots incorporating melodic R&B that is distinct to the 6. Additionally, with 12AM boasting over 26 million streams on Spotify alone, plus Tyla and Pressa’s combined 5.5 million monthly listeners on the platform, “Showgirls” is set to become an instant hit and reach an array of hip-hop, pop, and R&B lovers.

12AM states, “Tyla and I were working on his album in his crib for like 2 weeks straight. I was basically living there and I played him music I was working on. When he heard the hook on Showgirls, he instantly hopped on it. There were a ton of people over and everyone was going crazy over it. Then a year later, I was in the studio with Pressa. Same story, he heard the song and instantly hopped on it too, so we knew we had one when everybody had the same reaction like “this is a hit.'” On his upcoming music, 12AM adds, “I wanted to treat my upcoming album like a full body of work, no fillers, just the best music possible. I’m spending time creating an experience and a world through the next record.”

The future looks incredibly bright and 12AM’s repertoire is only at its inception. Prolific in his dexterity, 12AM is consistently writing for other artists as well as himself. He can be seen frequently working with Elijah Woods and Omer Fedi (Kid Laroi “Without You,” 24kGoldn & Iann Dior “Mood,” and Lil Nas X “Montero”), and on After Midnight he collaborated with TheHxliday on “Voices.” Touring accolades include shows with Internet Money, Iann Dior, Jez Dior, 24kGoldn, Jutes, Trevor Daniel, and Souly Had. No stranger to media coverage and acclaim from tastemakers, praise has rolled in from industry key players such as Complex, Elevator Mag, idolator, Lyrical Lemonade, and Vice’s Noisey. 12AM also appears on Spotify’s coveted ‘New Music Friday’ and ‘tear drop’ playlists, as well as Post Malone’s ‘posty’s playlist.’

Reflecting on his work, 12AM says, “My main focus is just to help people. That’s why I make music. When I get messages from fans saying I’ve helped them through depression or whatever they are going through it means the world to me, I can’t really believe it. That’s what I do this for. Whenever I play a show and fans are singing the lyrics back and when they meet me after the show, I just want to have a positive impact and be there for them, because they are all that matters in this music industry.”

BOSLEN – DUSK TO DAWN

BOSLEN RELEASES MUSIC VIDEO FOR “FORSAKEN” FEATURING VORY

WATCH HERE

DEBUT ALBUM DUSK to DAWN OUT NOW

LISTEN HERE

“Redefining what Black music can look, feel and sound likeFADER

“Boslen is on a clear cut path for international stardom.” – Lyrical Lemonade

“Boslen has been making a name for himself” – HotNewHipHop

After racking up millions of streams and receiving acclaim from COMPLEX, Lyrical Lemonade, HotNewHipHop, and more, Vancouver-bred genre-defying artist Boslen unveils the music video for “FORSAKEN (feat. Vory)” today. Watch it HERE. It stands out as the latest highlight from his tastemaker-praised debut album, DUSK to DAWN – out now via Chaos Club Digital / Capitol RecordsListen HERE.

“The FORSAKEN” music video is the visual representation of an unfiltered tormenting battle that I and many others face when seeing the end of a relationship before it arrives.” – Boslen

Directed by Cole Muters, produced by Jacob Green, and Creative Directed by Natasha Dion, the visual brings the lyrics and mood to life with intimate closeups of this bold boundary breaker against a lush backdrop.

DUSK to DAWN has already eclipsed over 9.6 million-plus streams and counting in addition to inciting widespread critical applause. Atwood Magazine hailed it as “a raw reckoning manifest in music: The kind of record that needs to be felt in full in order to be understood at its core, and HotNewHipHop praised “his vibe is ambitious, cinematic, and sometimes reminiscent of earlier Travis Scott releases.”  EARMILK christened him “a new voice in hip-hop, taking a refreshingly personal angle on the genre and establishing himself as an exciting, multi-faceted artist to watch,” and FLAUNT put it best, “Boslen is a whole vibe, and we cant get enough.

Featuring guest spots from Tyla YawehVoryDro KenjiRascalz, and CharmaineDUSK to DAWN draws its undeniable power from Boslen’s boundary-pushing vocal experiments, shapeshifting transitions, and heavier production than he’s attempted before. After opening on the soulful minimalism of “DUSK” the album cycles through an entire spectrum of textures and moods, ultimately arriving at the beautifully warped “DAWN.” Naming hyper-creative artists like Kid Cudi among his main inspirations, Boslen notes that DUSK to DAWN emerged from a desire to explore how vulnerability and self-empowerment can co-exist.

12AM × Pyrex – Lights

Rising alt pop, hip hop, and R&B act 12AM drops new single “Lights” out now via Sony Music Entertainment Canada. On the track, the Canadian talent links up with Baltimore rapper, producer, and Metro Boomin affiliate Pyrex (Whippa) to deliver a slick end-of-summer jam. Following the streaming success of his latest releases like “come over” and “Ski Mask” (which landed on Spotify’s highly-acclaimed ‘tear drop’ playlist), the new heat cements the Canadian talent as a fiery newcomer to watch.

Produced by Evan Gartner and Mason Sacks, “Lights” features alluring guitar loops over hard hitting 808s and bass, both spotlighting 12AM‘s signature melodic R&B sound. The lyrics paint an glorious picture of his freshly acquired L.A. lifestyle: the extravagant bliss of hopping out of suicide doors, jacuzzi living, and women, with questions asked about the pricetag on the finer things. But it didn’t always start out this way, juxtaposed by the artist’s challenged upbringing, 12AM offers his latest verses from the top of the mountain he’s been climbing before his official arrival in 2016. With the assist on the track, Pyrex ascends alongside 12AM with his distinct hot-blooded delivery. Together, flaunting and thriving on it’s hypnotic beat, serve up a certified banger.

The new music proceeds after “come over” and “Voices” whose success resulted in early rotation on Apple Radio 1, premieres with Travis Mills and media coverage from various cultural tastemakers. In addition to mainstream radio and media coverage, praise for 12AM’s collection can be seen across social media from artists such as Travis Barker, Tyla Yaweh, and Elijah Woods.

12AM × JUTES — “SKI MASK”

Prolific alternative Pop, Hip Hop and R&B artist 12AM taps Jutes for his latest single “Ski Mask” out now via Sony Music Canada. The new heat arrives with a Spring Breakers-inspired video co-directed by 12AM himself and Chris Villa (Post Malone, Tyla Yaweh). You can listen to “Ski Mask” HERE. You can watch the new video HERE.

The hard-hitting track encompasses infectiously melodic vocals escorted by 12AM’s ability to captivate audiences with his storytelling prowess. With lyrics outlining love and what can be put on the line to keep it, “Ski Mask” is one of many chapters to come.

“Me and Jutes have been wanting to put out a song for so long together but we had to have the right one… we made a couple records here and there but once I free-styled the hook for “Ski Mask” we both knew this was the one. He laid his verse down and bodied it and it made me step my game up on my verse,” explains 12AM.

“12 played me just the hook and said, yep this the one. I went in, recorded my verse in 15 mins, it just came out mad easy, showed him and he went crazy for it. Definitely feels good to finally have a track together. We’ve lived together and been grinding this music shit together for so long and never released a song together but it was worth the wait,” Jutes adds.

On the making of the video, 12AM also notes, “I’ve always been super hands on with everything I do. I was directing my own music videos in high school and just always had a vision for it. Chris and I work easy together and I’ve learned a lot from him from doing multiple videos and he let me do my thing for this one. He had ideas, I had ideas, and we met in the middle but when I wasn’t in the shots I loved being behind the camera and having my vision come to life.”

“Ski Mask” arrives as a follow up to “come over” and “Voices” whose success resulted in early rotation on Apple Radio 1, premieres with Travis Mills and media coverage from cultural tastemaker Lyrical Lemonade, among others. A song very special for the singer, since he himself confessed that it is his favorite song of the entire album “First God, I thank my audience for so much support, you keep my humility intact and the desire to fight for my dreams is on the surface. This disk is the fruit of much effort and I hope you love it, “said Wheeler. Enjoy “PLATÓNICOS” on your favorite digital platform.

JAY WHEELER SURPRISES WITH FRESH SOUND IN “TAKE MY LIFE” FEATURING TYLA YAWEH, WHICH WILL BE PART OF HIS UPCOMING URBAN ENGLISH ALBUM

Today, promising Latin music star, Jay Wheeler released his brand new single and music video “Take My Life” featuring Tyla Yaweh. 360 Magazine was delighted at the energetic energy, passionate lyricism, and flawless production of the sizzling single.

Jay Wheeler is one of the most prominent Latin artists of the moment, garnering over a billion streams and multi-platinum records in the United States and Spain. Recently, his single “Viendo El Techo” (20 million views on YouTube) reached the #1 spot at Billboard’s Latin Airplay and Latin Rhythmic charts, which came after winning the “Nueva Generacion Masculina” award at Univision’s Premios Juventud, continuing to position himself as one of the most sought after Latin artists of this generation.

With “Take My Life,” Jay presents a brand-new side of him completely in English for the first time ever, and mixing 00s emo-punk guitar riffs with today’s alt-pop sounds in a song that talks about losing a love over a mistake you’ve made. “Take My Life” is just a preview of what we’ll see from Jay Wheeler in his new urban English album that will drop in the fall of 2021.

“I used to believe // The love that we had was forever but now I cant let it go // And I couldnt leave // Ive seen in your face that I lost all your trust // And I cant let it go, I lost my soul // I even tried to take my life,” Jay Wheeler sings as the song begins, giving us a glimpse of what the story is about.

For this song, Jay Wheeler teamed up with Tyla Yaweh, the Post Malone-discovered rapper and songwriter, who also steps away from his comfort zone to really showcase his artistic versatility.

“Im so happy to finally present you with this project. Its something Ive always wanted to do and I think it really shows the range of what Im capable of doing. Teaming up with Tyla Yaweh was incredible too, I feel like he really brought the song together and I learned a lot from him in the process, ”Jay Wheeler said.

The music video, directed by Nuno Gomes takes place in an enchanted forest with a lot of ethereal creatures that give life to the story as Jay Wheeler searches for his lost love before it’s too late.

Jay Wheeler became known after a video of him singing went viral in 2016. Thanks to his newfound fame, he decided to pursue a career in music, eventually signing with Dynamic Records in 2018. He went on to release two albums produced by famed DJ Nelson: Platnico (2019) and Platnicos (2020), which included the mega hit that really catapulted him to fame, La Curiosidad“ feat. Myke Towers (592 million views on YouTube).

After the most successful year of his career, he kicked off 2021 experimenting with different genres and sounds, continuing to rake in massive streaming numbers in the 9 and 10 digits, and proving he truly is “la voz favorita” (the favorite voice). We can’t wait to hear whats next from this visionary artist.
