MALACHIII – HOW TO BE A STAR

Singer-Songwriter Malachiii releases new single “How To Be A Star” featured in MADDEN NFL 23 GAME & Soundtrack, and Malachiii‘s Debut EPThe Ascension is out now!

ABOUT MALACHIII:

Malachiii knows joy. Over the last few years, the singer, songwriter, and producer from Southern California has demonstrated an affection for elastic flows, buoyant rhythms, and melodies lit by a magic-hour glow. This ecstatic energy has made his take on pop, hip-hop, and R&B infectious, but what makes it most special is his willingness to engage in heavy themes with a maturity and grace that belies his age, delivering grinning verses while pondering big questions. He’s come to understand that while his ultimate goal is to emit love, light, positivity, and good vibes, it’s most important to stay true to the real depths of his experience, even if it’s not always sunshine and rainbows. Malachiii grew up with the urge to perform, but it was after going on tour with GRAMMY Award-winning composer AR Rahman at the age of 14 that he felt inspired to write and produce his own music. His ability to translate relatable emotions into hooks earned him a publishing deal with Electric Feel (Post Malone, Iann Dior, 24KGoldn), which only bolstered his writing and producing efforts. Now, Malachiii is stepping into the spotlight in his own right with the recent release of his debut EP, The Ascension [Motown Records]. The EP’s breakout track “Hold Me” and his new single “How To Be A Star” are both featured in the Madden NFL 23 video game, only proving that he’s here to create a lasting impact within music and culture.

The Sun Wakes Up Earlier Now [SB Projects/Republic Records] was recorded in Los Angeles, and BabyJake co-wrote and co-produced the songs with various collaborators, including Bipolar Sunshine, Lizzy McAlpine, and Linda Perry, to name a few.

On April 29th, BabyJake will drop an Urban Outfitters exclusive vinyl of The Sun Wakes Up Earlier Now—fans can pre-order the LP now HERE.

About BabyJake

BabyJake promises he’s “bringing back rock ‘n’ roll.” However, this isn’t your parents’ rock ‘n’ roll. It’s got all of the style, swagger, and spirit of the seventies, but it’s lit up by a fresh fire. The Florida-born and Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, and producer exudes enough star power to pull off a cowboy hat and flare jeans, but he’s also a byproduct of the times with a natural predilection for viral impact. In 2019, he introduced himself with the gold-selling “Cigarettes on Patios,” crashing viral charts and piling up 100 million-plus streams. During 2020, the artist remained prolific with his debut EP, Don’t give me problems, give me wine. In its wake, Flaunt predicted, BabyJake is on his way to superstardom,” while he earned acclaim from Billboard, Wonderland, V Magazine, Notion, TMRW Magazine, American Songwriter, The Line of Best Fit, Ones to Watch, This Song is Sick, and Lyrical Lemonade, to name a few.  Along the way, he collaborated with everyone from 24kgoldn to Dillon Francis and Louis The Child.

12AM × Tyla Yaweh × Pressa – Showgirls

LA-by-way-of-Toronto artist on the rise 12AM (aka Matthew Dubois) bursts into 2022 with a bang, linking up with Tyla Yaweh and Pressa for new heat “Showgirls” out now via Sony Music Entertainment Canada.

12AM revealed the official video directed by Logan Meis (Trippie Redd, Dax, The Kid Laroi, Polo G). It’s a high contrast, moody, and cinematic experience in itself. “Showgirls” peeks into a late-night burlesque show gone awry. The night manifests into a master scheme of kidnapping, robbery, and murder. While corrupt wealthy men put their guard down for some debauchery, they’re clipped of their wallets and prized possessions. The lights go off and the show concludes, leaving the club patrons in the dust. In the end, 12AM (aka the club owner) and the showgirls meet Tyla and Pressa (12AM and the showgirls’ partners in crime) at the hideout. Watch now HERE.

The single follows the success of “come over,” the lead track from 12AM‘s latest After Midnight EP that has amassed over 5 million streams. While After Midnight served as a redefinition of 12AM’s sound, “Showgirls” takes 12AM back to his Toronto roots incorporating melodic R&B that is distinct to the 6. Additionally, with 12AM boasting over 26 million streams on Spotify alone, plus Tyla and Pressa’s combined 5.5 million monthly listeners on the platform, “Showgirls” is set to become an instant hit and reach an array of hip-hop, pop, and R&B lovers.

12AM states, “Tyla and I were working on his album in his crib for like 2 weeks straight. I was basically living there and I played him music I was working on. When he heard the hook on Showgirls, he instantly hopped on it. There were a ton of people over and everyone was going crazy over it. Then a year later, I was in the studio with Pressa. Same story, he heard the song and instantly hopped on it too, so we knew we had one when everybody had the same reaction like “this is a hit.'” On his upcoming music, 12AM adds, “I wanted to treat my upcoming album like a full body of work, no fillers, just the best music possible. I’m spending time creating an experience and a world through the next record.”

The future looks incredibly bright and 12AM’s repertoire is only at its inception. Prolific in his dexterity, 12AM is consistently writing for other artists as well as himself. He can be seen frequently working with Elijah Woods and Omer Fedi (Kid Laroi “Without You,” 24kGoldn & Iann Dior “Mood,” and Lil Nas X “Montero”), and on After Midnight he collaborated with TheHxliday on “Voices.” Touring accolades include shows with Internet Money, Iann Dior, Jez Dior, 24kGoldn, Jutes, Trevor Daniel, and Souly Had. No stranger to media coverage and acclaim from tastemakers, praise has rolled in from industry key players such as Complex, Elevator Mag, idolator, Lyrical Lemonade, and Vice’s Noisey. 12AM also appears on Spotify’s coveted ‘New Music Friday’ and ‘tear drop’ playlists, as well as Post Malone’s ‘posty’s playlist.’

Reflecting on his work, 12AM says, “My main focus is just to help people. That’s why I make music. When I get messages from fans saying I’ve helped them through depression or whatever they are going through it means the world to me, I can’t really believe it. That’s what I do this for. Whenever I play a show and fans are singing the lyrics back and when they meet me after the show, I just want to have a positive impact and be there for them, because they are all that matters in this music industry.”

J. Balvin × Mae Miller × Neiked × Polo G. – Better Days

Colombian superstar J. Balvin has joined NEIKED, Mae Muller, and Polo G for an irresistible update of “Better Days”—the smash single that shot to #23 on the Billboard Hot 100 earlier this month, with nearly 300 million streams worldwide. Hailed as one of the “best songs of 2021” by the Los Angeles Times, “Better Days” is the brainchild of artist duo NEIKED and centers on an intoxicating vocal performance from Mae, the fast-rising British singer/songwriter recently named a Billboard Chartbreaker. Listen to by NEIKED x Mae Muller x J Balvin (feat. Polo G) HERE.

On the dynamic new version of “Better Days,” J Balvin drops in after the first chorus and delivers a swaggering verse in Spanish. Flaunting his super-smooth flow and undeniable charisma, Reggaeton’s Global Ambassador adds a powerful new energy to the dance-ready track. With its carefree collision of bouncy beats and shimmering grooves, “Better Days” features production from NEIKED (the Swedish artist duo whose hit single “Sexual” has surpassed 600 million streams globally and cracked the Top 10 in 11 countries).

“J Balvin is a true renaissance artist, and our records are always about finding that fresh nuance,” says NEIKED.” His style melts perfectly together with the uniqueness of Mae and Polo and we were thrilled to have him join the song. This is just one of the many pieces fans can expect from the coming NEIKED puzzle.”

Says Mae Muller, “I’m a huge J Balvin fan and he killed this! I went to Primavera Sound in 2019 and saw him live so it’s just a stunning full circle moment for me to have him be a part of “Better Days.'”

Released in September, the original version of “Better Days” debuted at #57 on the Billboard Hot 100, amassed over 65 million streams in just five days, earned Top 10 charting across Spotify and Apple Music, emerged as a Top 5 trending sound on both TikTok and Snap, and recently held steady as the #1 most added song on Pop radio for two consecutive weeks. Meanwhile, its fantastically retro video has garnered over 12 million views to date.

“Better Days” is the first of NEIKED’s highly anticipated releases that follow the duo’s long seen success. Already well recognized hit-makers who have collaborated with Nile Rodgers, EARTHGANG, Muni Long, 24kGoldn, X Ambassadors, and writers Freddy Wexler (Justin Bieber, Kanye West), Jason Evigan (Dua Lipa, Madonna), Justin Tranter (Ariana Grande, Julia Michaels) and Albin Nedler (Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato) 2022 will see the multi-instrumentalists perform on their biggest stages to date.

About J Balvin

“Reggaeton’s Global Ambassador”—5-time LATIN GRAMMY winner J Balvin is now one of the Top 10 streaming artists globally on Spotify, regardless of language, and has developed a legion of fans worldwide. Hailed by Billboard as “the biggest breakout act Latin music has seen in many years” and Pitchfork as “the face of modern Reggaeton,” Balvin is leading a second generation of Musica Urbana stars that have propelled Latin music to an unprecedented global embrace. His latest album, JOSE, arrived on the heels of an eventful summer, following the release of chart-dominating singles “Que Mas Pues?” featuring Argentinian singer Maria Becerra, “Que Locura,” and “In Da Getto” featuring Skrillex. With his song “Un Nota” with Sech recently topping the Latin airplay charts, J Balvin officially landed his 33rd #1 at Latin Airplay, more than anyone else in history, cementing him as Latin music’s biggest success story of the decade. With his music and impact on the culture, Balvin has secured himself as not only a leader of Reggaeton but as a torchbearer of the new state of Latin music by continuously expanding the limits of the genre and paving the way for “la nueva escuela.”

About Mae Muller

The “Better Days” update arrives as Mae gears up for her highly anticipated debut U.S. shows, a three-date run with stops in New York City, Chicago, and Los Angeles this March (see below for the full list of dates and venues, and purchase tickets HERE. Featuring special guests, Mae’s first-ever U.S. performances will be followed by a rescheduled U.K. tour in April. Known for her intimate yet high-energy live set, Mae has previously sold out a U.K. headlining tour and performed for massive crowds at festivals like Reading & Leeds, Latitude, and Sundown Festival.

Recently named a YouTube Trending Artist on the Rise, Mae made her U.S. primetime television debut by performing “Better Days” on The Voice in November, then took the stage at “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” the following month. With her radiant vocals and magnetic presence, she made major waves in 2020 with her much-acclaimed Capitol Records debut EP, no one else, not even you: an eight-track project built on her fearlessly honest yet free-spirited approach to songwriting. Created with producers/co-writers like Rick Nowels (Madonna, Lana Del Rey), Jimmy Napes (Sam Smith, Alicia Keys), Skyler Stonestreet (Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa), and Kenny Beats (FKA twigs, Ed Sheeran), the EP brings Mae’s raw vulnerability to an immaculately composed but unpredictable brand of pop music.

MILES – MOSH PIT

SINGER-RAPPER MILES UNVEILS TIMELY NEW SINGLE MOSH PIT ALONGSIDE OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO

Elektra Records artist MILES has unveiled his timely new single MOSH PIT, available now on all DSPS and streaming services. The track arrives alongside an official music video available now on his official YouTube channel. With many people not having been to a show in over a year and craving live music, the well-timed track hears MILES “Fiendin’ for the show” while the official video, directed by Nicholas Jandora (24kGoldn, Lil Skies, Bankrol Hayden) and co-concepted by MILES himself, sees him jamming to a Rock Band-type video game and eventually getting transported into a mosh pit.

“MOSH PIT” follows the St. Louis-born/Los Angeles-based singer-rapper’s latest track “Desperados,” which marked his official debut for Elektra Records. Pulling inspiration from the 1995 Robert Rodriguez film Desperado, the official music video was shot in the Southern California desert and explores the life of a modern outlaw.

MILES’ story so far engenders such enthusiasm. The St. Louis native grew up singing and naturally gravitated towards music inspired by everyone from Lil Wayne and Chance the Rapper to Charlie Puth and Khalid in high school. Admitted to prestigious Dartmouth College on a football scholarship, he quietly uploaded music to Soundcloud and gradually made waves online. Leaving school, he wound up in Los Angeles and dropped a series of independent singles, culminating on the viral “WHAT IN TARNATION.” Nearly 3,000 Tik Tok videos utilized the track as he generated just shy of 7 million total streams

MILES brings hip-hop grit to pop with deft wordplay and dusty soundscapes. Named after Miles Davis, he possessed a predisposition for music fueled by listening to everything from dad’s jazz records, Kirk Franklin, and Bill Withers to Lauryn Hill, Wiz Khalifa, and Travis Scott. He honed his vocals through constantly singing before beginning to freestyle in high school. At the same time, he excelled on the football field, earning a scholarship to Dartmouth College as a defensive tackle. In between a grueling Ivy league schedule of practice and class, he still managed to maintain a prolific output of independent music online. Picking up steam, he left school, moved to L.A., and crashed at YouTuber Justin Escalona’s pad. On a weekly basis, he appeared in vlogs and released music at a rapid pace, logging millions of streams and quickly building a fanbase, including over 385K followers on TikTok alone in just 3 months. In 2020, he ignited the viral “WHAT IN TARNATION,” attracting 2,700 Tik Tok videos and drumming up 6.3 million streams. On the heels of its success, he inked a deal with Elektra Records and rustled up his formal debut for the label “Desperados” with much more to come.

Joy Oladokun – In Defense of My Own Happiness

Joy Oladokun debuts new song, judas, from the deluxe album in defense of my own happiness (complete).

Breakthrough singer, songwriter and musician Joy Oladokun’s new deluxe album, in defense of my own happiness (complete), is out today via Amigo Records/Verve Forecast/Republic Records. The special extended edition includes all 14 tracks from her major label debut, in defense of my own happiness, as well as the ten additional songs from her self-released 2020 record, in defense of my own happiness (the beginnings), and one new track, judas.

In celebration of the new music, Oladokun will be featured on NPR’s “All Things Considered” this afternoon speaking with host Ari Shapiro, and recently made her debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert performing sunday from Nashville’s newly opened National Museum of African American Music.

Released last month via Amigo Records/Verve Forecast/Republic Records, in defense of my own happiness finds Oladokun forging her own path, sharing the unique perspective she’s gained from living in today’s world as a black, queer woman and first-generation child of Nigerian immigrants. Born in Arizona and now living in Nashville, her musical exploration began at age ten when she was inspired to learn guitar after seeing a video of Tracy Chapman—the first time she’d ever seen a black woman play the instrument.

Recently named one of the “Best Albums of 2021 So Far” by Rolling Stone and Variety, and one of Billboard’s “Best Albums by LGBTQ Artists of 2021 So Far,” in defense of my own happiness features special collaborations with Maren Morris (Bigger Man), Jensen McRae (wish you the best) and Penny & Sparrow (heaven from here) and continues to receive widespread critical praise:

“one of the hottest new singer-songwriters making music…surgical songwriting and soulful vocals that will send chills down your spine on each repeat listen.”—Billboard

“Joy Oladokun is a rare talent who manages to dissect Christianity, queerness, race and mental wellness with a delicate yet determined touch”—Vogue

“a stunning major label debut…any Nashville musician worth their salt should be pinching themselves to work with Oladokun, among the most exciting talents this city has seen in years.”—The Tennessean

Furthering her breakout year, Oladokun will tour throughout the fall including upcoming performances at Newport Folk Festival, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, and Austin City Limits as well as several dates supporting Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit and Dermot Kennedy.

Oladokun has continued to receive widespread attention in the past year, including recent performances of album track, breathe again, on NBC’s TODAY and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The song also received a key placement on NBC’s This Is Us, propelling the track to reach #3 on Shazam’s U.S. Top 200 while also charting globally. 12AM x Jutes — Ski Mask from Jenny Hossain for use by 360 Magazine

12AM × JUTES — “SKI MASK”

Prolific alternative Pop, Hip Hop and R&B artist 12AM taps Jutes for his latest single “Ski Mask” out now via Sony Music Canada. The new heat arrives with a Spring Breakers-inspired video co-directed by 12AM himself and Chris Villa (Post Malone, Tyla Yaweh). You can listen to “Ski Mask” HERE. You can watch the new video HERE.

The hard-hitting track encompasses infectiously melodic vocals escorted by 12AM’s ability to captivate audiences with his storytelling prowess. With lyrics outlining love and what can be put on the line to keep it, “Ski Mask” is one of many chapters to come.

“Me and Jutes have been wanting to put out a song for so long together but we had to have the right one… we made a couple records here and there but once I free-styled the hook for “Ski Mask” we both knew this was the one. He laid his verse down and bodied it and it made me step my game up on my verse,” explains 12AM.

“12 played me just the hook and said, yep this the one. I went in, recorded my verse in 15 mins, it just came out mad easy, showed him and he went crazy for it. Definitely feels good to finally have a track together. We’ve lived together and been grinding this music shit together for so long and never released a song together but it was worth the wait,” Jutes adds.

On the making of the video, 12AM also notes, “I’ve always been super hands on with everything I do. I was directing my own music videos in high school and just always had a vision for it. Chris and I work easy together and I’ve learned a lot from him from doing multiple videos and he let me do my thing for this one. He had ideas, I had ideas, and we met in the middle but when I wasn’t in the shots I loved being behind the camera and having my vision come to life.”

“Ski Mask” arrives as a follow up to “come over” and “Voices” whose success resulted in early rotation on Apple Radio 1, premieres with Travis Mills and media coverage from cultural tastemaker Lyrical Lemonade, among others. Adding to mainstream radio and media coverage, praise for upcoming releases can be seen on social media from artists such as Travis Barker, Tyla Yaweh and Elijah Woods.

Los Angeles-based, Ottawa native Matthew Dubois better known as 12AM is an emerging alternative R&B singer stemming from the ever-expanding Canadian music scene.

Earning love from streaming platforms and radio alike, 12AM’s releases have landed consistent debuts on new music playlists in the US and Canada, garnering early support in rotation on Apple Music 1 Radio which led to premieres with Travis Mills for “love dies” and “come over.” Notably 12AM boasts over 15 million streams with 6 million of those branching from viral tracks “Voices” and “come over.”

No stranger to media coverage and acclaim from tastemakers, praise can be seen coming from industry key players such as Lyrical Lemonade who said “12AM has been having a massive year without being able to tour, the Canadian [and LA-based] artist has an innate ability to craft big choruses which is why more and more artists are tapping in to use his melodic talents.”

A prolific storyteller, 12AM consistently writes for other artists as well as himself. 12AM can be seen frequently working with Elijah Woods and Omer Fedi (Kid Laroi “Without You”), (24kGoldn & Iann Dior “Mood”) and (Lil Nas X “Montero”) also regularly working with producers Midi Jones, Bizness Boi and NGHT NGHT. Apart from writing and making music, 12AM has an extensive touring background, in his most recent run touring North America with Souly Had, 12AM completed over 30 show dates on a single tour amassing sold out venues in Salt Lake City and Toronto. Touring accolades include dates with Internet Money, Iann Dior, Jez Dior, 24kGoldn, Jutes and Trevor Daniel. A one-of-a-kind artist, 12AM’s passion and pain shine through his music-making and unique narrative ability.

With highly anticipated upcoming releases with Travis Barker, Jutes, and Pyrex, paired with the heavy hitting management team of Tes Siyoum (Tyla Yaweh) and Alec Strasmore (ex-Post Malone), 12AM is creating the pathway for a summer 2021 takeover. 12AM’s repertoire is only at its inception, the future looks incredibly bright for the multifaceted and highly talented singer.
