Lil Baby releases new song U-Digg via 360 Magazine

Lil Baby – U-Digg

GRAMMY Award-winning rapper Lil Baby has unleashed a new track and video “U-Digg.” The Atlanta native has teamed up with two of Detroit’s pacesetters, 42 Dugg & Veeze, to release an undeniable summer banger. Lil Baby and 42 Dugg delivered the smash hits “We Paid” and “Grace” from My Turn when they last joined forces. With the welcome addition of Veeze, “U-Digg” is sure to follow the trend as they trade ferocious verses over menacing production work. The new release denotes that Baby has no intentions of slowing his hustle and continues to mark himself as the reigning champ of his era.

Alongside the new release, Lil Baby got behind the camera himself to direct the track’s music video. The handheld-style camera-work feels authentic and raw, following Baby, Veeze and 42 Dugg from an impressive garage full of Maybach’s and T-Rex’s to the streets where they trade drifts and showcase their riches.

Alongside a standout performance at Hot 97’s Summer Jam this past weekend, Lil Baby’s new documentary Untrapped: The Story of Lil Baby, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, followed by a performance of fan favorite tracks from throughout his career Directed by Karam Gill, the film is raw, intimate, and chronicles the astonishing rise of a singular artist and activist, exploring the systemic oppression that keeps far too many people of color from participating in the American Dream. Produced by Quality Films, MGX Creative, and 4PF, the film will be available for Prime subscribers on August 26th.

Director Karam Gill and Lil Baby discuss film Untrapped at Tribeca Film Festival via 360 Magazine

LIL BABY’S UNTRAPPED

Untrapped: The Story of Lil Baby” is the chronological narrative of Dominique Armani Jones, a black horse’s right of passage. Re-invents the American dream for the next generation, operate outside the rule of the general public. Lately, director Karam Gill has been christened by Forbes’ 30 Under 30 and indexed by Variety’s 10 Top Documentary Filmmakers to Watch. He has created a psychological yet visual anthology of the socioeconomic fate of a young black man in America. Recalling the days when Jay-Z moved dope in Marcy, this tale hits a hard chord with the less fortunate – making ends meet with whatever means necessary.

In 2016 the prosperous Quality Control Music imprint catapulted City Girls into the realm of Salt-N-Pepa and the Migos into a stratospheric N.W.A-ish enclave. With their managerial mastery, they signed Cardi B and enlisted him into their brigade. Shortly thereafter, Lil Baby burst into hip-hop celebrity after releasing My Dawg, peaking at 71 on Billboard Hot 100. Widely respected by peers in Atlanta’s West End, the film re-confirmed Lil Baby as one of the most influential in his set.

In short, this tabulated transmission, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, portrays a successful drug dealer who has become an endearing father that amassed immeasurable success. Further, 2020 was his breakthrough to become a global star. Lil Baby was the first and only recording artist to achieve double platinum status and tied Prince as well as Paul McCartney for Billboard Hot 100 hits.

Gloomily, the film did not fully explain his rap culture and his flair for fashion, thus taking away the viewer’s affinity for the protagonist of nonfiction. Looks like a series on the verge of whistling out of the kettle.

Lastly, the ceremony ended with a public Q&A and a special performance by Lil Baby.

J Balvin, Lil Baby, Badshah new song via 360 Magazine

Lil Baby × Badshah × J Balvin

Lil Baby hooks up with Indian singer, rapper and producer, Badshah, and Latinx global superstar J Balvin, jumping on their international hit, “Voodoo,” with a remix out today via Capitol Records. Listen HERE.

A trilingual anthem — Hindi, Spanish, and English — produced by top hit making producer/ artist Tainy (who has churned out hits with Bad Bunny, Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello, Anuel, Rosalía, Daddy Yankee to name a few) “Voodoo” is a cautionary tale of lust and magic. The song’s supernatural theme is reflected in the striking, effects-filled video.

Badshah is ready for the world to catch his light and has been on a mission to take Desi-Pop global, bridging Indian and Western cultures through jubilant rhythms and hooks that transcend language. Born in Delhi, Badshah is India’s most successful musical artist of his generation, having generated more than 15 billion streams worldwide, performed more than 700 live shows and become an ambassador for global brands. He is one of the few artists to have 18 songs cross over 200 million + views on YouTube.

“Voodoo” marks the first proper collaboration between Badshah and Latinx icon, J Balvin. “J Balvin is like an idol to me,” says Badshah. “He’s been doing what I have been trying to do in my own space, and the way he’s made a way for himself despite the language, despite the odds, really inspired me.”

“Voodoo” follows Badshah’s latest EP Retropanda – Part 1, that released last month. The four-track set includes smash hits “Tabahi” and “Jugnu,” which thus far have accrued over 290 million combined views on YouTube and over 47 million Spotify streams. Badshah’s 2021 viral hit Bachpan Ka Pyaar has over 415M Views on YouTube in just about 8 Months.

In 2021, Badshah inked an exclusive agreement with Universal Music Group to be led by Capitol Records. “Voodoo” continues the groundbreaking artist’s mission, ultimately leading Desi-Pop and Indian non-film music to a global stage.

About Badshah:

Indian rapper Badshah is ready for the world to catch his light. The singer, rapper and producer has been on a mission to take Desi-Pop global, bridging Indian and Western cultures through jubilant rhythms and hooks that transcend language. Badshah is one of YouTube’s top artists worldwide and has amassed more than 15 billion streams. His latest, “Voodoo” with Colombian star J Balvin and reggaeton artist Tainy is the world’s first tri-lingual song, an alluring mosaic of Hindi, Spanish and English – the combined languages of more than two-thirds of the world’s population – over swinging dembow drums. His songs connect majorly on the dancefloor as well as he is one of the few artists to have 18 songs cross over 200 Million + views on YouTube. Badshah flexes celebration and happiness – while he is aware of his own superstardom and immense appeal, his mission is to bring a new sound to people worldwide. “If the numbers went away, in the end it is the song that people love” says Badshah. “That’s most important.”

Ja Morant and Lil Baby Beats campaign via 360 MAGAZINE

JA MORANT × LIL BABY

Beats by Dre (Beats) teams up with Grammy Award-winning artist Lil Baby and NBA All-Star Ja Morant in its latest campaign. The 90-second video will air in Game 3 of the NBA Playoffs, during which Morant will be playing.

The campaign is centered around Lil Baby and Ja Morant’s friendship and mutual admiration, which ultimately led to Lil Baby writing “Dark Mode” about the player. Both the track and the campaign play off Morant’s ethos around basketball, which can be summed up with the phrase, “welcome to the dark.” While many want to bask in the spotlight, one’s work ultimately illuminates itself as a result of relentlessly honing their craft in the darkness.

Lil Baby’s track focuses on “going into dark mode,” a behavior which has ultimately made Morant one of the most exciting players to watch in the league. The spot also visually reflects darkness, with both superstars appearing solely in monochromatic black and white throughout the entirety of the video.

“Ja has been one of my favorite players to watch. We’ve been locked in,” said Lil Baby. “This is not my first time partnering with Beats, but we took it up a notch with this original song. The world gets to experience ‘Dark Mode’ for the first time in a way that’s crazy!”

Beats first partnered with Lil Baby on its 2020 award-winning campaign titled “You Love Me,” while Ja Morant was recently signed as an ambassador to the brand. In the new spot, Lil Baby sports Beats Studio Buds in Moon Gray and Morant wears Beats Studio Buds in Sunset Pink, available exclusively at Target.

About Lil Baby:

fines a generation. The GRAMMY Award-winning rapper has smashed records, made history, and impacted the course of modern hip-hop with his instantly identifiable and inimitable style. He has garnered dozens of multi platinum certifications and tens of billions of streams as arguably the biggest new rapper to emerge this decade. Following the success of his platinum full-length debut Harder Than Ever in 2018, he seized #1 on the Billboard Top 200 with 2020’s My Turn, becoming “the year’s #1 selling and #1 streaming album in the US.” At first, it cemented him as “2020’s first and only artist to go double-platinum,” but it has since gone quadruple-platinum and has logged 85 weeks in the top 10 of the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart – marking the longest top-tier run in the chart’s history.

He notably tied Prince and Paul McCartney for Billboard Hot 100 hits and Taylor Swift for “most weeks atop the Billboard Top 200 in 2020” with a total of 6. Out of eight nominations, he scored his first GRAMMY® Award in 2022. He has appeared on the covers of Rolling Stone and the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players Issue in addition to receiving honors from VEVO, Rap Caviar, the Apple Music Awards, and more. He teamed up with Lil Durk for The Voice of the Heroes, marking his second #1 debut on the Billboard Top 200. It’s just the beginning though. He’s bound to revolutionize the culture again with his third album in 2022. Most recently, he released “Right On” and “In A Minute” which both songs debuted on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. This feat puts Lil Baby in rare territory, making him the youngest of only 12 artists to have ever landed 100 or more songs on the Hot 100. This generation belongs to Lil Baby.

About Guapo

A Houston act so early in their career has never had such prolific strides quite like Guapo, who many have come to also know as “Lil Guap”. The young upstart’s name truly does speak for itself as the 20-year-old rapper has captured the attention of what seems to be the entire city of Houston in such a short matter of time.

Beginning around his senior year of high school, Guapo was introduced to rap one day by the encouragement of his brother and the people around him. This past year, Guapo has played a pivotal role in being at the forefront of Houston’s newest faces by delivering consistent buzzing material such as his leading single, “Mr. Put It On.”

A new lingo, new swagger, and a fresh face are all things Guapo has used to his advantage while rising to the top of Houston’s budding music scene with co-signs from Lil Baby, Future and Young Thug.

Released in September, “Mr. Put It On” was Guapo’s first breakout single, reaching over a million views within days while sparking a new trend of style, TikTok moments, and social media lingo. Since then, Guapo has been gearing up to release his debut mixtape.

Guapo is now currently in the final stages of wrapping up his first solo mixtape with some notable features from big names across Texas. There’s no telling what surprises Guapo has in store for his promising debut, but it is safe to say that it will be one of the most highly anticipated projects coming out of the South by a new rap artist this year.

Queen Naija and Big Sean via Sed for use by 360 Magazine

Queen Naija × Big Sean

Queen Naija and GRAMMY-nominated, multi-Platinum artist Big Sean heat up the snowy streets and rooftops of New York City in the official video for their new single, “Hate Our Love.” The two Detroit natives shot the romantic visual with director Cam Busby (Wiz Khalifa, Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Baby). DJ Envy of “The Breakfast Club” has a cameo, setting the song up as the new cuffing season classic. View “Hate Our Love” HERE. Facebook gave fans an exclusive official first look at the video the day before it was released.

For Queen, recording with Big Sean was “a bucket list collaboration.” Released shortly before Valentine’s Day, ”Hate Our Love“ amassed over 4.2 million combined global streams in its first week of release, her biggest debut since 2018’s “Karma,” which is certified Platinum. “Hate Our Love” was produced by Mike Woods (Kehlani, Kiana Lede, Yung Bleu). The single is already charting in Billboards Hot 100.

Vibe observed, “Queen Naija returns to the music scene with ‘Hate Our Love,’ an ode to defending a difficult but ultimately worthwhile relationship. No stranger to defending love himself, Big Sean joins the songstress on this modern flip of Bobby Glenn’s timeless ballad ‘Sounds Like A Love Song.'” HipHopDX said, “Big Sean blesses Queen Naija’s ride-or-die new single.” BET noted, “This song is a soundtrack for anyone who wants to keep those messy crows out of their love life.” Queen paid a visit to Fox’s “The Real” to discuss the single.

“Hate Our Love” appeared on New Music Friday playlists in 14 countries around the world and has earned spins on Clara’s “Hottest Records of the Week” show on BBC Radio 1. The single impacted Urban Mainstream radio in the U.S. earlier this week. Big Sean topped the Billboard 200 for the third time with his 2020 album DETROIT 2. His six-song EP with Hit-Boy, What You Expect, was released last fall. He will be performing at Coachella in April. Queen has amassed over three billion combined global streams in her career to date. Nominated for a 2021 American Music Award in the Favorite R&B Album category, it includes the No. 1 hit “Butterflies Pt. 2” and the Gold-certified singles “Pack Lite” and “Lie To Me” ft. Lil Dirk. The deluxe edition of the album, missunderstood, still, includes five previously unreleased songs.

NICKI MINAJ F/ LIL BABY – BUSSIN

Nicki Minaj’s new track ‘Bussin’ in collaboration with Lil Baby comes following one week of the release of another cooperation project between both artists on ‘Do We have a Problem? Listen to ‘Bussin’HERE.

The fast-paced, electrifying hit releases amidst growing anticipation for Nicki’s new 2022 album. She has been caught pondering the new persona she aims to take on with the latest album, stating on Instagram Live, “what should we call this person’s name?” Although nothing has been revealed yet, she assured her fans that she would “figure it out.”

The icon has, too, been in the public’s attention following TikTok fumbling a Black History Month (BHM) event with Nicki herself. The event was entitled Black History Month Creator Meet Up x Nicki Minaj, as corresponding with emails showcased in a TikTok by the creator Dessy Joseph.

TikTok promised to celebrate BHM with this event, but the turnout spoke otherwise. Attendees observed that those in the turnout for the event were primarily non-Black creators. It was also revealed that Black creators were not given a link to the event until ten minutes after the beginning of the meetup, around 6:10 PM.

Joseph spoke on the disappointment, stating in a TikTok, “Black creators with millions of followers didn’t receive links till 6:10, weren’t prioritized, weren’t given questions, nothing. When people did get in, they did see a screen full of not-Black faces.”

TikTok released a statement that attributed the upset of the event to “extensive technical issues with production,” as to why guests had problems accessing the event. They, too, noted that a wide range of creators were invited to the occasion.

As seen by BuzzFeed News, the email statement stated, “The meet-up was open to our collective community of creators — including #BlackTikTok #CasaTikTok, #LearnOnTikTok, and more. On behalf of the TikTok creator team, we apologize for the confusion and negative experience, as this was intended to be an opportunity for fans to connect with Nicki in a unique setting to celebrate her new music.”

Nicki answered to fans uproar around the BHM event on an Instagram Live, telling them, “I heard what y’all were saying, and let me see if I can schedule something else for you guys.”

NBA Meechy Baby – Get in There

Kicking off 2022 with a bang, Meechy Baby unleashes a brand new single and music video entitled “Get in There” via Never Broke Again/Motown. Listen HERE. Watch the music video HERE.

The track hinges on a jaggedly menacing beat fueled by 808s and skittering cymbals as Meechy Baby tears through the production with tenacious verses. It all culminates on a commanding hook, “Get in there.” In the accompanying visual, he turns up next to a luxury SUV as he flows directly into the camera. It hints at his unbridled star power and raw charisma.

He captured the attention of audiences everywhere on last year’s red-hot compilation “Never Broke Again Vol. 1.” Across a stacked track listing, he bodied “Pure Dope” [feat. Rjae & Rojay MLP], “Chippewa,” “Til Da Morning,” “Parking Lot,” and “Cutlass.” Of the latter, HotNewHipHop praised, “Paying ode to the old school car, the rapper brings high energy,” and Rolling Stone noted, “He raps about his lifestyle and his love of the American classic.” He has already amassed over 3 million streams and counting.

However, everything just paves the way for more music from Meechy Baby.
