Lexus – December to Remember

Lexus ‘December to Remember’ Celebrates Moments of Connection. New commercial, Sprinkles giveaways spread holiday cheer with annual return of iconic campaign

Every year, Lexus ushers in the holidays with the December to Remember campaign including the familiar jingle, the red bow and the gift-giving moment. This year, the signature red bow returns with a twist in a new spot called “Time Machine.” And, in a holiday first, Lexus is partnering with Sprinkles to make December a bit sweeter with exclusive giveaways at nationwide Sprinkles locations courtesy of Lexus dealers.

“This year’s ‘December to Remember’ celebrates the holidays as a joyful time to reconnect with loved ones,” said Vinay Shahani, vice president of Lexus marketing. “Our dealers do a great job of extending hospitality to our guests year-round. This holiday season, on behalf of our dealers, we’re inviting guests to enjoy a special Sprinkles treat and pay it forward to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.”

Lexus continues to be a proud partner of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Starting on Giving Tuesday, November 29, guests will have the opportunity to donate through a unique link found on social and in Sprinkles stores when they pick up their complimentary holiday treats.  For every donation made through the link between November 29 and January 3, Lexus will match donations up to $250,000.

In the “Time Machine” commercial, debuting today, a young boy waits impatiently for the holidays. He becomes convinced that his family’s new RX is a time machine and wonders if it might make the holidays come faster. In a variation of the campaign’s signature gift-giving moment, this year’s gift comes in the form of the little boy being reunited with his older brother, who comes home early from college to surprise him. The red bow, instead of appearing on top of the car, appears on a present his brother brings with him. In addition, Lexus is bringing back two popular “December to Remember” spots from last year — “Runway” and “Wonderland.”

In its own gift-giving moment, Lexus is treating guests to an exclusive complimentary offer in partnership with Sprinkles at locations nationwide. From Friday, December 2, through Sunday, December 4, red velvet cupcakes will be gifted courtesy of Lexus and its dealers – each of the three days for one hour between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. (also while supplies last).

Are you a theater enthusiast, an experienced playwright, or a talented performer looking for recognition?

The Obie Awards is the perfect stage for both novice and seasoned artists. Thanks to a collaboration between The Village Voice and the American Theatre Wing, the Obie Awards celebrate the highest calibre of off-Broadway and off-off-Broadway theater to honor progressive work, support groundbreaking ideas and advance theatrical careers. The event is held every year in New York City, and prizes are given out for outstanding acting and performance, design/music, direction, playwriting, and special citations. Obie accepts applications from competent individuals regardless of where they live. The awards are given to encourage and recognize original performances, as well as to nurture and grow talents. The Obie Awards have given recognition to some of the most well-known playwrights and artists, such as Heidi Schreck, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Benj Pasek. For many years, the Obie awards were thought to be reserved for formal presentations. However, the awards were made informal to provide limitless opportunities for individuals worthy of recognition.

Most Obie Award winners received training at the actor’s studio, through moderated sessions, workshops, and readings. The Actor’s Studio is an important platform to foster creativity. It is an NGO whose members have been influential in many American theaters since World War II. It is one of the best training facilities for the Stanislavsky Method of Acting. The Method, developed by the organization’s founding artistic director Lee Strasberg, is a set of methods and exercises that revolutionized acting across the globe. Artists are encouraged to use their memory and emotional experience to prepare for a significant role. The place offers a conducive environment where actors collaborate without the pressure of commercial agents. Professional actors, directors, and playwrights can improve their craft and discover the range and depth of their talent with the aid of The Actors Studio.

The 66th Annual Obie Awards will take place in November 2022. The 2022 awards will be co-chaired by Obie-winning Director and Producing Artistic Leader David Mendizábal and veteran theatre critic Melissa Rose Bernardo. CHARLES SPEARIN – MY CITY OF STARLINGS

My City of Starlings is the new album by multi-instrumentalist composer Charles Spearin known for his work in Broken Social Scene, Do Make Say Think, and countless more. The album is an incredibly dynamic and eclectic blend of instrumental-leaning excursions that were born from a song-a-day recording club of friends and peers from around the world. Beautifully textured, gliding between avant garde, art rock, and electronic with cohesion and ease, My City of Starlings foregrounds the masterful touch that Spearin always imbues in his bands’ legendary songs and performances.

More About My City Of Starlings

‘Is this how we feel when we’re alone / With our faces glowing from our phones / We can’t help but want to leave our homes’

Can you think of a more perfect lyric that captures the pandemic experience? Multi-instrumentalist and composer Charles Spearin, known for his work in Broken Social Scene, Do May Say Think, and so much more music that has soundtracked the past two decades, insists he’s not much of a lyricist. In fact, his new solo album, My City of Starlings, is a largely instrumental collection of beautifully textured songs that glide between avant-garde, art rock and electronic soundscapes.

But it’s no surprise that Spearin’s virtuosity extends to every detail of his songwriting, from the burnished brass of “Vireos In Bellwoods” to the celestial “Three Voices (Braided Carefully)” to the words and ambient melodies of the title track, which captures both the haziness but also the glimmers of hope of the time we’ve just lived through.

My City of Starlings isn’t a “pandemic record,” exactly, while Spearin found himself with extra time once touring came to a standstill, some of the compositions that found their way onto the album had been taking shape since 2017, while others were born from a more recent song-a-day writing and recording club of fellow musicians from around the world.

“I have my studio here in my backyard, and I sometimes struggle with why I’m doing this – what’s the purpose? Am I making an album? Are they songs I’m going to pitch to my friends to be Broken Social Scene songs, or Feist songs or whatever? But then I settled into the idea that this is what I do,” Spearin says.

“To have time on my hands and a studio at my fingertips certainly helped in making this record, but thematically, there’s a kind of reflection in the music that maybe comes from having spent so much time at home as well.”

Like so many of us, Spearin came to see his city in a whole new light during the endless walks taken through its streets over the past year and a half, partly thanks to an increased interest in birding but also a whole new appreciation for the wonders of the natural world – an inspiration that comes through clearly in the album’s expansive sonic palette.

It will be the perfect night out this holiday season.

H.E.R. – Back Of My Mind

We’re halfway through 2021, and H.E.R. (who is halfway to EGOT status), has not let her foot off the gas! Today, the Grammy and Academy Award winner releases her highly-anticipated full-length album, Back of My Mind, via MBK Entertainment/RCA Records. Click here to listen.

Clocking in at 21 tracks, Back of My Mind includes a star-studded lineup of guest features by Chris Brown, Ty Dolla $ign, Cordae, Lil Baby, Thundercat, Yung Bleu, DJ Khaled, Bryson Tiller, and YG. Producers Hit-Boy, KAYTRANADA, Cardiak, Rodney Jerkins, DJ Camper, and more provide lush and repeat-worthy productions, leaving adequate space for the four-time Grammy Award winner’s pristine vocals (and guitar shredding skills) to shine throughout. R&B at its core, Back of My Mind showcases H.E.R.’s unique versatility as a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.

“This collection of songs comes from feelings and thoughts that I’ve had in the back of mind,” says H.E.R. “That’s where I live sometimes. Some things I talk about in my music and other things I may have been afraid to say or admit. I’m finding freedom in being truthful with expression.”

H.E.R. kicked off 2021 in the most stellar of ways by winning two Grammy Awards – Song of the Year for “I Can’t Breathe” and Best R&B Song for her contribution to Robert Glasper’s “Better Than I Imagined,” plus an Academy Award for her powerful song “Fight For You” from the Warner Bros. Pictures’ film Judas and the Black Messiah. Her recent show-stopping performance with Chris Stapleton on the CMT Music Awards was proceeded by equally impressive performances on the Billboard Music Awards with DJ Khaled and The MigosiHeartRadio Music Awards’ Elton John Tribute, Oscars: Into The Spotlight special, Super Bowl LV, and more.

Currently gracing the cover of VarietyH.E.R. is starring in her own special episode of Amazon’s Prime Day Show, featuring music from the new album. On June 21, iHeartMedia will host the iHeartRadio Album Release Party with H.E.R. featuring an exclusive performance and an intimate conversation with Angie Martinez. The event will stream on the FOXSOUL YouTube channel and FOXSOUL.tv., and broadcast across iHeartMedia’s R&B, Rhythm and select Hip Hop radio stations at 9pm ET/6pm PT.

The dynamic performer will return to NYC’s Rockefeller Center on June 25 for her second Today Show summer concert, followed by performances at the BET Awards on June 27, and her first-ever concert with the LA Philharmonic at The Hollywood Bowl on August 13 & 14.
