ALEC BENJAMIN TOUR × VIDEO – THE WAY YOU FELT

Multi-platinum singer-songwriter Alec Benjamin has unveiled an official music video for his latest single “The Way You Felt.” In the Miles & AJ-directed visual, Alec confronts a past relationship by revisiting stops along their shared history and reliving pivotal moments – even though he’s alone this time. “I love music videos that have the ability to tell the story beyond the lyrics of a song,” Alec shared. “When I wrote ‘The Way You Felt,’ I found myself thinking about an ex-girlfriend, so when it came time to shoot the video, I felt inspired to go back to all of the places where our relationship unfolded. I thought it was the perfect way to process some good and bad memories, and maybe get a little closure, which I obviously needed because I’m still writing about it.”

“The Way You Felt” is available to stream and download now here via Elektra Records. Upon release, Billboard praised, “The pain feels genuine, and Benjamin’s soothing delivery creates the impression that the shock hasn’t fully registered.” Alec recently delivered the song’s network television performance on The Late Late Show with James Corden. Adding further dimensions to the track, Alec also recently shared an acoustic version and a Mandarin version entitled “你的目光(The Way You Felt).” The song marked Alec’s first official Mandarin release, and debuted at #1 on NetEase Music’s Western New Music Chart in China, surpassing new releases from artists including Lorde and Maroon 5. Competing with both domestic and international releases, the track also climbed to #2 on the platform’s Viral Chart and #8 on the New Music Chart. After resuming his study of the language during the COVID-19 pandemic, he collaborated with Chinese actress and singer Zhao Lusi on a Mandarin version of his hit single “Water Fountain” earlier this year. This Fall, Alec will return to the road for a North American tour with support from Harry Hudson. The 23-city trek kicks off on September 14 in Santa Cruz, CA, and wraps on October 21 in Pomona, CA. Last week NEEDTOBREATHE delivered the television debut performance of Into The Mystery’s current single “I Wanna Remember” alongside seven-time GRAMMY® Award winner Carrie Underwood at the 2021 “CMT Music Awards.” Watch their unforgettable performance here. Crowned as one of the most show-stopping moments of the evening by both US Weekly and Entertainment TonightBillboard shared “Bear Rinehart and Underwood’s vocals intertwining like leather and lace,” and praised, “the love song about wanting to remember an especially romantic moment felt particularly poignant as we head into a summer where new memories will be made after putting dreams on hold for more than a year.”

Into The Mystery was announced last month alongside the release of the album’s lead single and title track. Earlier this month, the band unveiled the album’s opening track “What I’m Here ForInto The Mystery’s early songs have received praise from Rolling Stone, Billboard, People, American Songwriter, and more. The album will also feature collaborations with Jon Foreman of Switchfoot and Natalie Hemby of The Highwomen.

This Fall, NEEDTOBREATHE will embark on their massive Into The Mystery Tour with support from Switchfoot and The New Respects. The 38-city trek will visit iconic venues such as Denver, CO’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre (fifth consecutive sold out appearance) and Los Angeles, CA’s Greek Theatre, and see the band perform their first-ever headline show at Nashville, TN’s Bridgestone Arena. Just as their critically acclaimed 2020 album Out of Body impacted audiences, NEEDTOBREATHE capitalized on a rush of inspiration and rode the wave of creativity. Without telling a soul, the band decamped to a historic house-turned-recording studio in Columbia, TN to begin working on new music. Over the course of three weeks, they resided under one roof, laughed during meals, explored their surroundings, and recorded together with co-producer and engineer Konrad Snyder and special guests. Out of this de facto creative hub and “extended summer camp,” they handcrafted an album reflective of the moment, yet independent of all expectations, even their own. The past 12 months represent one of the most prolific periods in the band’s career thus far. They recently unveiled Live from the Woods Vol. 2, a live album recorded during three sold out, socially distanced outdoor concerts at Pelham, TN’s famed The Caverns. Sceenic is the only Game Changer in the index, which charts the top 10 technology providers that offer co-watch solutions in the market.

The Power Play Index ranks companies in two categories: 

  • Technology Alignment: determined through a company’s signal score as it relates to watch parties, video chat, and voice chat.
  • Market Validation: determined through a company’s signal score as it relates to leagues, venues, people, and partners.

Elle King and Miranda Lambert’s brand new collaboration “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” is clearly the party everyone has been missing. The single debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Country Digital Song Sales Chart and #1 on the Rock Digital Sales Chart. Listen/Watch the Video HERE.

The song was co-written by Elle King with Martin Johnson, who also produced the track, and was recorded in Nashville and New York pre-pandemic.

This is the second time the two female powerhouse performers have recorded together with their first release “Fooled Around and Fell in Love” (along with Maren Morris, Ashley McBryde, Tenille Townes and Caylee Hammack) going on to win the 2020 ACM Award for “Music Event of The Year.”  Elle also was a special guest on Miranda’s 2019 Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars tour.

To accompany the track, the pair met up in Nashville to film an 80s-inspired wedding video starring Elle as the bride and Miranda as her Maid of Honor complete with a cameo from Elle’s real-life fiancé as the groom. The video was shot in January by directing duo Running Bear using strict COVID protocols.

Alex Trebek Dies at 80

Alex Trebek, the face of “Jeopardy!” for many years, has passed away at 80 years old. He is known and loved by many for being the show’s host since 1984.

“Jeopardy! is saddened to share that Alex Trebek passed away peacefully at home early this morning, surrounded by family and friends,” the official Jeopardy account tweeted on Sunday morning. “Thank you, Alex.” 

Trebek leaves behind his wife Jean and his children Emily, Matthew and Nicky. Trebek has been fighting stage four pancreatic cancer since March 2019. 

Trebek shared this cancer diagnosis in a video to fans on March 6th. “Now normally the prognosis for this is not very encouraging, but I’m going to fight this and I’m going to keep working,” Trebek said while vowing to keep hosting the show. 

Trebek hosted over 8,200 episodes of “Jeopardy!,” and shared answers through 37 seasons according to CNN. He accomplished many things throughout his 36 years as host, including five Daytime Emmy Awards. Similarly, he surpassed Bob Barker of “The Price is Right” for the person that has hosted the most games-show episodes. Trebek now holds this record in the Guinness Book of Records. 

In 2018 Trebek hinted at retirement but signed a final contract extension that was set to end in 2022. “I’m just enjoying what I’m doing, I’m happy to have a job,” said Trebek in a 2014 interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “I like the show, I like the contestants and it pays well.” It was clear Trebek loved his job and the show. 

“He loved that ‘Jeopardy!’ popularized intelligence and it was important for him,” said Mike Richards, the show’s executive producer to CNN. “I think he really became synonymous with the show, in that he really was that smart.” 

Trebek “reveled in these intelligent people, in the contestants, in the writers,” Richards continued. “It’s just who he was — he craved knowledge and it showed.”

According to People, Trebek and Jean celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary in 2019 but agreed that almost thirty years married still wasn’t enough. 

“I’m pretty satisfied with my life,” Trebek shared with People. “But my wife Jean and I have been together almost 29 years, and I was thinking about President Bush when he died, and all the comments about his life about what a nice guy he is, and how he and his wife had been together 73 years.  I thought, oh my gosh … if I’d just met Jean in my 20s we could have had a longer life together.”

Jean added about her husband to People. “He takes his job very seriously, but won’t take himself too seriously,” said said. “He’s just an intelligent human being. Part of Alex’s staying youthful is his staying curious,” she continued. 

Throughout his years on “Jeopardy!” Trebek battled many health complications. Besides battling cancer, he suffered from two heart attacks, a knee replacement, blood clots on his brain and a torn Achilles tendon according to People

Trebek kept fighting until he passed away peacefully in his home. According to Sony Pictures episodes of “Jeopardy!” featuring Trebek will continue to air until December 25.
