At 15, you could find SK8 in his room writing lyrics, and by his sophomore year, you could find him handing out CDs in high school. SWIZZ BEATZ SWITCHES TO ASCAP

RICKY HIL – “TRYIN”

Today, alternative singer/songwriter Ricky Hil releases his latest single and music video “Tryin,” out now via 10K Projects. Following up the success of his November single “Break My Heart,” “Tryin” gives fans a glimpse into Ricky’s next full length project, SSDD, out soon. “I strive to bring the gritty truth of my generation into my music and lyrics,” he says. The music video for “Tryin,” directed by Aidan Cullen, captures that feeling visually, as Ricky walks through the dark-lit streets of LA, singing “life is unfair to you / life is unfair to me.”

Since his debut project The Lonely Limo—a fearlessly personal mixtape featuring guest spots from heavy-hitters like Lil Wayne—Ricky Hil has brought an unapologetic honesty to his music. “A lot of the time in my songs I’m saying shit I don’t really even want to say—but I do it anyway, because I know there are people out there that feel the same way I do,” says Ricky.

Born in Fairfield County, Connecticut but based in Los Angeles, Ricky first started experimenting with making music as a kid, armed with a turntable set-up and a stack of vinyl. “I fell in love with it, and I’d stay up all night every weekend—I didn’t care about anything else, I just wanted to create as much as possible.” Although South Philly rappers like Beanie Sigel influenced his early work, Ricky later discovered singer/songwriters like Bob Dylan and focused more heavily on sculpting potent melodies and sharpening his songcraft. Mostly raised on rock-and-roll, he later played in a punk band, infusing his songs with a kinetic energy that still permeates the music he makes today.

Ricky has recently refined his vision, and fully leaned into his love for darkly charged beats and slow yet dynamic tempos. “I went into all these new songs just wanting to be completely myself,” he says. As part of that creative revitalization—which includes recording up to five songs a night—he’s also begun drawing his own cover art, naming famed tattoo artists Jack Rudy and Mister Cartoon among the main inspirations on his artwork.

Trippie Redd – Spooky Sounds & Pegasus

Platinum-selling artist Trippie Redd releases a six-part collection of Spooky Sounds, available now all DSPs via 10K Projects/Caroline. A Halloween-themed companion to his highly anticipated album Pegasus, out 10/30, Spooky Sounds is Trippie’s final teaser for fans before the release of the record. The Spooky Sounds will be added onto Pegasus upon its release on 10/30. Drawing much of his inspiration from the free-flowing style and inventive lyricism of Lil Wayne, Trippie began recording in his cousin’s basement following the death of his brother and later relocated to Atlanta to further hone his skills, quickly landing a record deal with 10K Projects.

The fourth installment of his signature Love Letter to You series became his first-ever album to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Released in November 2019, the 21-track effort amassed over 125.9 million streams in its first week alone.

With the coronavirus pandemic forcing artists to improvise, Trippie still made the best of navigating 2020’s uncertain terrain. Outside of recording at his home studio and redecorating his Los Angeles mansion, the 2018 XXL Freshman made it a point to give back to those fighting the COVID-19 pandemic on the frontlines. Trippie partnered with Purity Organic and Sweet Leaf Tea in March to donate more than 32,000 beverages to hospital workers across his hometown of Canton (Mercy), NYC (Northwell Medical), and Los Angeles (Cedars Sinai, UCLA).

His Hollywood acting debut also came in April with a cameo during an episode of Lil Dicky’s critically acclaimed DAVE. The FXX show averaged over 5.3 million viewers per episode in season one and quickly became FX Network’s most popular comedy series.

Trippie caps off the year with the release of his highly anticipated Pegasus album on Halloween. The mythical LP includes previously released singles such as the intoxicating Excitement featuring PARTYNEXTDOOR and Trippie bridging the generational gap with the legendary Busta Rhymes on I Got You. The Dark Knight Dummo rapper adds to his myriad of high-profile collaborations on Pegasus by connecting with Chris Brown, Young Thug, Swae Lee, Lil Wayne and Future among others.

Commemorating a treasured moment of Cash Money Records lore, the label released Baller Blockin’ as its inaugural big screen foray. The action comedy/drama stars flagship artists The Hot BoysJuvenile, Lil Wayne, B.G., and Turk—as well as label Co-Founder, Co-C.E.O., and GRAMMY® Award-nominated superstar Bryan “Baby a.k.a. Birdman” Williams. It vividly depicted the daily trials, tribulations, and triumphs of the Magnolia Projects, 3rd Ward, New Orleans so often referenced on the artists’ breakout records. A rare feat in Hollywood, it was notably co-written, co-directed and co-produced by Birdman and Cash Money Records Co-Founder and Co-C.E.O. Ronald “Slim” Williams.

Trippie Redd – Sleepy Hollow

Singer/rapper Trippie Redd released a brand new single Wednesday titled “Sleepy Hollow.”

His upcoming album “Pegasus” will be available Oct. 30, but Zane Lowe premiered the new song on his Apple Music 1 show.

The track is produced by OUTTATOWN, who has worked with Future, Young Thug and DaBaby.

It clocks in at just one minute and 41 seconds, but the energy Trippie Redd brings to the song is undeniable.

“Pegasus” follows up Trippie Redd’s 2019 album “A Love Letter To You 4.” This is the third song to be released from “Pegasus” after “Excitement” and “I Got You.” The 26-song album will feature hit artists like Chris Brown, Future, Young Thug, Quavo, Lil Wayne, Swae Lee and more.
