About Mimi Webb
Mimi Webb projects a voice as magnetic, massive, and magical as her personality. As “the girl next door” with a hell of vocal range, she’s quick to laugh, will let you know precisely what’s on her mind, and isn’t afraid to be heard. Originally hailing from the UK town of Canterbury, the pop singer and songwriter turns up the volume on every emotion with skyscraping runs and open-heart honesty.

Inspired by the likes of Amy Winehouse, Emelie Sandé, and Sam Smith, she started writing songs of her own at 13-years-old in diaries before eventually learning guitar. Around the same time, she enrolled in The BRIT School—known for alumni such as Adele, Amy Winehouse, Jessie J, and more. Three years later, she left home, moved in with a host family, and attended the prestigious BIMM [British Institute of Modern Music]. In 2019, she uploaded a handful of early compositions and collaborations online, landed management, and inked a deal with Epic Records. Mimi Webb’s impromptu acapella videos exploded with over 20 million views on TikTok, paving the way for a string of original fan favorites such as “Before I Go,” “I’ll Break My Heart Again,” “Reasons,” and “Good Without.” After amassing over 200 million streams, both of her recent singles “Dumb Love” and “Good Without” peaked in Top 15 on the UK Singles Charts GIVĒON WINS BEST POP VIDEO AT 2021 MTV VMA’S!, with the latter steadily climbing up the Top 40 of Billboard’s Adult Airplay and Mainstream Airplay charts.

Music Week also recently announced Mimi Webb as the newest addition to their BBC Radio 1’s Brit List. The prestigious offering comes after selling out her first upcoming UK Tour this Fall and receiving widespread acclaim from Wonderland, teenVOGUE, Refinery 29, Euphoria, CLASH, FLAUNT, Consequence of Sound and more. Jessie J × Billy Porter – I Want Love

Today, GRAMMY Award-nominated multi-platinum pop superstar Jessie J joins forces with GRAMMY, Emmy, and Tony Award-winning Billy Porter to release I Want Love (twocolors Remix) via LAVA/Republic Records.

I Want Love sets the stage for Jessie J’s anxiously awaited fifth full-length album, coming later this year, co-written with and executive produced by GRAMMY® Award-winning mega-producer Ryan Tedder, who has also worked with music legends such as Beyoncé and Adele.

“The post-pandemic dance-track boom is real, and it’s rarely sounded as massive as on Jessie J’s return single I Want Love.” – MTV

“At long last, vocal powerhouse Jessie J returns.” – Billboard

“Jessie J’s I Want Love Is A Candidate for Big Gay Song of the Summer.” – Towleroad

ABOUT JESSIE J

Jessie J, born Jessie Ellen Cornish, is an English singer/songwriter raised in London. She, like her collaborator Porter, began her career singing in the theatre. She appeared on the West End at age 11 in the musical Whistle Down The Road, before shifting toward pop music and R&B as she got older. She became very popular in her 20s with smash hits like Price Tag, Flash Light, Do It Like A Dude, and Domino – the latter of which peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Top 100 chart. 2012 saw Jessie J reach a higher echelon of success when she performed for the Queen of England at her Diamond Jubilee Concert outside Buckingham Palace, or when she performed at the closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games in London. She has since appeared as a coach on the television series, The Voice, as well as its counterparts The Voice UK, The Voice Australia, and The Voice Kids UK. After releasing her last album, R.O.S.E., in 2018, Jessie J finally returns to the scene with a surefire hit I Want Love (twocolors remix) featuring Billy Porter.

ABOUT BILLIE PORTER

Billy Porter is an American actor, singer, director, and style icon. The Carnegie Mellon School of Drama graduate became famous while working on Broadway before embarking on a solo career as an actor and singer. Porter won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for performing as Lola in Kinky Boots, for which he was also awarded the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actor in a Musical, the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Actor, and a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album. He later won a Golden Globe for starring in the hit television series, Pose, and won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. He was the first openly gay Black man to be nominated for and win an acting category at the Primetime Emmy’s. In 2020, Porter was named one of TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People.

Zoe Wees

By: Kai Yeo

Powerful vocal range, unguarded vulnerability, and great songwriting skills. All of that combined is Zoe Wees, 19-year-old German singer-songwriter who is creating a global imprint with her unbelievable vocal range and soulful rhythms.

If you’re new here: Zoe Wees made her stellar debut with her single “Control” in March 2020, a song she opens up about her child epilepsy, a traumatic, isolating condition that can cause severe seizures. “Before I wrote ‘Control’ I looked back to the past every evening. Like I was just sitting in my room and was just there and was just sad and looked at the wall… After I wrote ‘Control’ it was another feeling. Like the situation wasn’t even that bad no more.” The emotional ballad became a worldwide hit and entered the top 20 at Pop radio in the U.S.

A year after her debut single, Wees continued to magnify her presence in the mainstream atmosphere with her emotional release “Girls Like Us” – an empowering anthem of solidarity shared among girls fighting against the stereotypes and expectations of society. Not just about struggling with looks, it is also a song that talks about emotions and pressures of social media. Now at 13 million streams on YouTube, it is praised as “a vulnerable pop anthem that pushed for togetherness” as Wees encourages her listeners to find confidence within themselves.

Now, with her debut EP “Golden Wings” out, Wees continues to relay her personal narratives in her music to create an inspiring and safe space for her fanbase – her wings. Last week, I got the chance to speak with Zoe about the five-track EP and potential live shows, as well as her struggles and autobiographical songwriting.

In your interview, you stated that this EP is your “strength and wings.” Can you share any special moments in the process of making this EP that reflects your strength and wings particularly?

“I feel like the last song for the EP that I wrote, I think it was ‘Girls Like Us.’ The one special moment I realized was that for the first time in a session, I thought about – not just about me – also the other people. About my wings and my community, which I didn’t really have before. I was always thinking about writing my own stuff down and thinking of myself for now, because it was what I was going through. But in the end, I know my music helps a lot of people. So [the one special moment] is taking extra care to also write about what people and my listeners can relate to, especially because I know what they’re going through.

Just in your lyrics and voice, the execution of your message “just want to make people feel less lonely, make them feel stronger” is shown so clearly. How do you feel about your fans’ reactions to your EP?

“I’m so happy. Cause you know actually; one thing is we wrote together. And they’re here from the beginning, and we’re gonna grow together when I go on tour and when I’m in their city. They’re gonna come visit me and I’m gonna see them. This is what makes me happy because anytime I go back to a city, I’m gonna see them again and again and again, so we grow together, which is so nice.”

Known for your “raspy low to unbelievably powerful and sky-high” singing style, is there a personal favorite style when making this EP or did you just go with the flow?

“I actually just go with the flow. Really, I just go with the flow. Whatever comes out of my mouth.”

You wrote your first song on anxiety and epilepsy; can you tell us why this was important for you to show your authentic and true self?

“Because I never write about happy things. You know, I hate writing about happy things, cause it makes me sad. That’s funny, I know. But I really like… never thought this was something I was ever gonna release. But I was just in the studio, and it was the first session, and I was so nervous. And then I thought about because I struggled so much with my epilepsy, and I still do even though it wasn’t as intense at that time, I really wanted to write a song about it. For me, it was the most natural way to be honest to my wings and everyone around me. And a way for me to be real. And that’s just me.”

Thank you for showing us such personal aspects of your life and empowering us (especially women) to be comfortable in our own bodies. Can you tell us what inspires you to write music?”

“Jessie J and Billie Eilish… and especially just what I’m going through.”

Author’s Notes

P.S.: If you can’t tell from her answers… Zoe was every bit as wonderful and charismatic with her words as she is with her musical talent. Zoe, I can’t wait to see what’s next for you and to listen to more of what you create! Your music is so inspiring and when we finally meet in real life (hopefully at one of your tour stops), please remember we promised to trade my skin for your brows. Cheering for you always, stay beautiful x

JESSIE J – I WANT LOVE

JESSIE J PREMIERES I WANT LOVE OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO

NEW ALBUM ARRIVING LATER THIS YEAR

GRAMMY® Award-nominated multi-platinum pop superstar Jessie J premieres the official music video for brand-new single I Want Love via LAVA/Republic Records.

“This album is like a short film over many years of my life and this video is the first part of that story I’m sharing.” Jessie J comments on the new music video, “I wanted the video to feel like people weren’t supposed to see this moment. A moment between the moments captured.”

I Want Love sets the stage for her anxiously awaited fifth full-length album, coming later this year, co-written with and executive produced by GRAMMY® Award-winning mega-producer Ryan Tedder (Beyoncé, Adele).

Back in 2011, Jessie J quietly emerged with the biggest voice in pop. The UK-born powerhouse introduced herself with Who You Are, which not only went platinum, but also yielded the quadruple-platinum Price Tag and platinum Domino. Not to mention, the record made history as “the first album by a British female artist to produce six or more Top 10 hits in the UK,” while she picked up the 2011 Critics’ Choice BRIT Award and BBC’s Sound of 2011. On its heels, 2014’s Sweet Talker crashed the Top 10 of the Billboard Top 200 and housed the eight-times platinum Bang Bang with Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj. Throughout 2018, she revealed R.O.S.E. in four parts to critical acclaim and supported it with a sold-out world tour. The same year Jessie J traveled to China and joined the TV show SINGER, a singing competition where she performed each week in front of a television audience of 250 million with a grand finale viewership of a 1 billion. Not only was Jessie J the first international artist to ever compete alongside the biggest artists in Asia, but also the first to ever win. With a once-in-a-generation voice, confessional writing style, and stadium-shaking charisma, she’s back in 2021 with I Want Love.

Sam Fischer Announces US & UK Tour

Sam Fischer announces his international Fall 2021 tour, A Simple Tour.

Sam Fischer – the man behind last year’s platinum hit This City, duets with Demi Lovato on What Other People Say, and Sam Feldt’s Pick Me Up, has announced a string of US and UK tour dates this Autumn.

Sam says, “It’s been a unique journey this past 18 months, having my songs travel further around the world than I’ve been able to and not getting to meet the people who have given me this life I now lead has been a bit heartbreaking, so to be announcing a tour feels surreal, but here we are. The support I’ve had in both the UK & US  has been incredible and I can’t wait to be on stages, doing what I love the most & finally meeting everyone, for the first time.”

Sam’s debut single This City is currently sitting on over 500 million worldwide streams and was Top 20 in the UK for 11 weeks. The track has gone double platinum in Australia, platinum in the UK and Gold in the US, New Zealand, and Switzerland. He’s also had some incredible US TV performances on Ellen, Jimmy Kimmel, and The Late Late Show With James Corden.

However, it hasn’t all been plain sailing for Sam, who endured his own heartache to achieve his dreams. With the promise of a recording contract in the bag, he set off to LA only for the deal to be pulled away. After months of couch-surfing, he finally and deservedly received his break with This City  and  album Homework which has been just the amazing start of an exciting new chapter in Sam’s career.

His relatable lyrics and unique, resonant sound are a staple of his work from his debut song, Lean, to his newest release, Simple. Sam’s impressive skill will be on full display this fall in A Simple Tour.

Sam Fischer x Demi Lovato “What Other People Say”

Following the huge success of his global smash hit This City and recent project HomeworkSam Fischer has teamed up with Demi Lovato to release his new single What Other People Say  out now via RCA Records. Listen HERE.

Written by Sam before his single This City became a hit, it was a song he always knew would be a duet. Sam was blown away when Demi Lovato became the perfect person to accompany him on vocals. What Other People Say was written about feeling alone and not wanting to let people down. The pairing takes two different lives and perspectives and unites them into one message of human experience, emotion and togetherness, so they are alone with one another in the song. It is a truly special track with a powerful, moving and relatable chorus. It is the next official single release for Sam since This City.

Sam says; “What Other People Say is a confession, realizing how far away you can get from who you are in an effort to be liked. It’s about the pressures of society and how getting caught up with the wrong things can change you.”

Demi says; “This song is a reflection on what it’s like to lose who you truly are in an effort to please other people and society.  It’s why I wanted to make this song with Sam – ultimately it’s about two humans coming together to connect and find solutions to their problems.”

Alongside the announcement of the single, Sam Fischer has also shared that he has been chosen as YouTube’s first ‘Artist on the Rise’ for 2021, following previous winners Mabel, Aitch, Freya Ridings, Mahalia, Beabadoobee and Celeste.

About Sam Fischer:

Always wearing his heart on his sleeve and with sincerity in both his lyrics and conversations, Sam Fischer released his project Homework last year. This project is a cathartic body of work, acknowledging the moments in life that Sam has struggled to deal with, and how these situations have changed him for the better.

Beginning as a TikTok sensation and quickly cementing itself in hearts and heads around the world, the emotive and heartfelt This City now stands at over 350 million worldwide streams, over 2 million worldwide sales and over 50 million video views. It has been certified Platinum in the UK with a Top 20 chart position, which steadily climbed over 19 weeks, and was also nominated for ‘Song of the Year’ at the 2020 Aria Awards. It was also a top 5 UK Airplay record, receiving radio support from Radio 1, Radio 2 (B List), Capital, Virgin and Bauer; alongside TV performances on Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Late Late Show with James Corden and The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Australian born Sam Fischer first introduced himself with his Not A Hobby EP and has garnered incredible attention through his soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics. Touring North America with his friend Lewis Capaldi, he wowed crowds with his buoyant personality and pure love and talent for song-writing. Now based in LA, he not only has received acclaim for his own work, but he continues to solidify his spot as one of the hottest current writers, having worked with global pop superstars including Ciara, Lennon Stella, Louis Tomlinson, Elle King, Jessie J, Virginia To Vegas, and many more.

LISTEN: FOR NOW

Following the huge success of his global smash hit This City and recent project Homework, Sam Fischer has shared his new single For Now, available now through RCA Records.

Always wearing his heart on his sleeve and with sincerity in both his lyrics and conversations, his recent project Homework is a cathartic body of work, which acknowledges the moments in life that Sam has struggled to deal with and how these situations have changed him for the better. Through each of the six songs, he takes the listener through each situation with him in a relatable, personable and emotive journey.

Beginning as a TikTok sensation and quickly cementing itself in hearts and heads around the world, the emotive and heartfelt This City now stands at over 250 million worldwide streams, 2 million worldwide sales and over 10 million video views. It has been certified Silver in the UK with a Top 20 chart position, which steadily climbed over 19 weeks, receiving radio support from Radio 1, Radio 2 (B List), Capital, Virgin and Bauer alongside TV performances on Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Late Late Show with James Corden and The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Sam followed the release with five remixes of This City featuring Anne-Marie, Kane Brown, Nea, Nico Santos and Camilo, which culminated in the These Cities Project.

New single For Now is the signature Sam Fischer in its beautiful fragility, meaningful emotion and heartfelt lyrics. It is a track that envelopes you and your thoughts in the relatable experience of love coming to a necessary end.

“Imagine ending things with the person you thought you would spend your life with, not because of any reason other than that you were bad for each other,” Sam said. “Then, not wanting to let them go from your life you keep hanging out as friends, even though the love remains, until it becomes too much to bear and you have to say to them that you can’t see them at all anymore.

“For Now is the conversation where I break up with the toxic tendencies I’ve been leaning on to get through the day. The other side of it, is that I’ve been working on a lot of new music and think this song is a banger and wanted to put something out to finish off an unbelievable year!”

Lola Young Shares Official Woman Video

Today, Lola Young released the official video for “Woman.” Directed by Olivia Rose (Jorja Smith, 6lack ft. Future, Skepta and Ty Dolla $ign ft. J Cole), the clip features Young and a cast of women, identifiably different in their features but united by their confidence, as they boldly reclaim the female form.

View Official Video HERE.

Download / Stream “Woman” HERE.

Young also shared a statement about what the video means to her:

“I wanted to make this video because I believe women are all undeniably strong, sexy, free, brave, vulnerable, raw and powerful. And that we do not have to hide away. We do not have to remain unseen, our bodies should never be sexualized or a taboo conversation, or only seen through the male gaze. We have the ability to normalize our bodies being on show, and accept them for their differences, as it’s important to remember those differences are currently often shamed.

I came up with the idea of the women in the video being fully nude. The energy on set was insane, I have never felt more empowered in my life. Nipples, bums, rolls, stretch marks, cellulite, all of these things are beautiful along with the perfect body.

This is my personal experience of being a woman, hopefully other women will have their own take on what it means to them.”

“Woman,” which received its first U.K. play on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show, comes on the heels of the 19-year-old artist’s Renaissance EP. Co-produced by GRAMMY winner Paul Epworth (Adele, Mumford & Sons) and manuka, “Woman” is available for download/streaming HERE.

Billboard praised the velvet-voiced Lola Young and Clash Magazine hailed her music as touching [and] honest. Q Magazine observed, “Young’s songs bring her open-hearted lyricism and London Twang together with a neo-jazz sensibility with one foot always pointed in the direction of the nearest dancefloor.” Dummy said, “Lola Young has the most powerful and affecting voice we’ve heard in some time. The young singer is gaining ground fast.” Hunger Magazine noted, “The singer-songwriter has her own, uniquely raw take on music.”

With a gift for writing songs that encapsulate and explore the human condition, Young turns extremely personal emotions into songs that resonate with universal truths. As a lyricist, she creates evocative scenes with all the tenderness and sensitivity of a folk artist, while maintaining the sharpness, wit, and attitude of a rapper. She began writing music at age 11. Young is a recent graduate of the Brit School, whose alumni include Amy Winehouse, Adele, Freya Ridings, FKA Twigs, Jade Bird, Jessie J, Leona Lewis, Loyle Carner, and Rex Orange County.

Lola Young – Woman

Today, Capitol Records released “Woman,” Lola Young’s ode to women everywhere. The song – which received its first U.K. play on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show – is about female empowerment and also examines the struggles and hardships women face as a result of sexism and entrenched stereotypical roles. Coming on the heels of the 19-year-old artist’s Renaissance EP, “Woman” is another beautiful performance from Young, with the nature of the song bringing out a side to her that has yet to be seen. Co-produced by GRAMMY winner Paul Epworth (Adele, Mumford & Sons) and manuka, “Woman” is available for download/streaming HERE.

“‘Woman’ is a song about female empowerment,” explains Lola Young. “It’s a song about how I feel towards the patriarchy but also an introspective piece that looks at the gender roles and how these can be broken down. This song means a lot to me because it’s something I had never previously written about and it has an honest vulnerability to it that I hope makes people feel an understanding towards us women.”

Billboard praised the “velvet-voiced Lola Young” and Clash Magazine hailed her music as “touching [and] honest.” Q Magazine observed, “Young’s songs bring her open-hearted lyricism and London Twang together with a neo-jazz sensibility with one foot always pointed in the direction of the nearest dancefloor.” Dummy said, “Lola Young has the most powerful and affecting voice we’ve heard in some time…the young singer is gaining ground fast.” Hunger Magazine noted, “The singer-songwriter has her own, uniquely raw take on music.”
