SFERA EBBASTA × J BALVIN - “BABY”

SFERA EBBASTA ×  J BALVIN – “BABY”

After the release of his album FAMOSO, today international superstar Sfera Ebbasta unloads the video for the standout single, “Baby” with J Balvin.

WATCH OFFICIAL VIDEO HERE

The new album, FAMOSO, released on November 20th, has been welcomed internationally with a standing ovation. All 13 tracks debuted at the top 200 Global Spotify chart while disintegrating all past records and achieving new heights for Italian albums. It received 16M streams in 24 hours while climbing the first 13 positions in the Italian top 50 chart on Spotify. FAMOSO is the most-streamed album ever on release date on Spotify and the 2nd most-streamed album Globally.

Today, Sfera Ebbasta flexes as a major player in the game with the release of the video for the international focus track, “Baby” with J Balvin.

J Balvin expressed the wish to see the birth of a truly international Latin gang, an artistic partnership between Italy, Colombia and the whole Latin world. “Baby” marks the beginning of a journey destined to bring Italian music where it has rarely landed. Sfera and J Balvin met when the king of the trap made a remix of the track “Machika”. In the film Famoso, directed by Pepsy Romanoff and distributed worldwide by Amazon Prime video, the Colombian artist talks about his relationship with Sfera:

“At the time of the “Machika” remix I didn’t know him personally, but now we’re friends. There is nothing planned, no strategy, just a true friendship. One day I went to Italy, I looked at what was happening in the music world and there were 5 Sfera tracks at the top of the chart. I said to myself: and where is my music? (Editor’s note laughs) – and then adds – It’s a real movement! And for this, I respect my little brother because yes … he is like a brother to me! He is a big star in Italy and I think he will soon be one everywhere. He has all my support and my respect. I really think we are at the beginning of a real worldwide Latin gang and I want to see my people win! ” – J BALVIN

In the video directed by Mattia Benetti and produced by Ocean Code Studio, we see Sfera and J Balvin together for the first time, immersed in a parallel universe, in those fantasy worlds where everything seems possible; golden statues emerging from the sea, sharks swimming over the city skyline and purple skies where gigantic planets stand out in a magnetic, almost hypnotic way. Between mermaids swimming above Sferas car and landscapes like el dorado, the song, produced by Sky Rompiendo, with its up tempo makes us understand why it has been chosen as the first international focus single and how it is possible that in only four days after its release, “Baby” is already a hit. The track is already at #1 on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and Youtube Italy.

Under the artistic direction of Charlie Charles, FAMOSO is the most important album in Sferas career, a boy who comes from nowhere and has never had help of any kind and who together with extraordinary teamwork, managed to become the most important Italian recording phenomenon in recent history. Results such as the one achieved by “Baby,” certify his entry into the very small circle of European artists who are truly recognized, respected, and above all listened to in the world. However, knowing the hunger of Sfera Ebbasta, his desire to continually improve himself, we are only at the beginning.

Big Loud Records’ CMA New Artist of the Year Morgan Wallen barrels forward full speed ahead this week, launching the pre-order for his highly-anticipated sophomore album Dangerous: The Double Album and dropping a triple shot of brand-new music today.

The trio – “Somebody’s Problem” (writers: Wallen, Rodney Clawson, Jacob Durrett, Ernest Keith Smith), “Still Goin Down” (writers: Wallen, Michael Hardy, Ryan Vojtesak), and “Livin’ The Dream” (writers: Wallen, Ben Burgess, Jacob Durrett, Michael Hardy) – continues to crack open the broad range of Wallen’s 30-track double dip.

“Somebody’s Problem” is a twisty, deceptively sweet love song, where “Still Goin Down” adds to Wallen’s collection of signature, Tennessee-pride-riddled, hometown anthems, touting the lifestyle he knows from experience. “Livin’ The Dream” is Wallen’s most self-reflective slow burner to date, gripping from the start and brutally honest.

This weekend, Wallen is nominated for two American Music Awards, Favorite Male Artist – Country and Favorite Album Country (If I Know Me), and performed an exclusive version of his verging #1 single “More Than My Hometown” for Xfinity in celebration of the big night.

Morgan Wallen Announces Dangerous: The Double Album

As announced last night via his social media, Big Loud/Republic Records’ Morgan Wallen will release his highly-anticipated sophomore album, Dangerous: The Double Album, on January 8, 2021. The vast, 30-track double album is nearly three years in the making, written largely by Wallen throughout the chapter of his career that has established him as “the fastest rising young star in the country” according to Variety.

With the project’s arsenal of writers ranging from storytelling titans Ashley Gorley, Shane McAnally, Hillary Lindsey, Rhett Akins and Lee Thomas Miller, to two of Wallen’s biggest musical inspirations Eric Church and Jason Isbell, to his closest musical confidants HARDY, ERNEST and Ryan Vojtesak (aka Charlie Handsome), Dangerous: The Double Album further establishes the signature sound crafted by Wallen and producer Joey Moi on his #1 PLATINUM debut, If I Know Me.

The double shot holds both of Wallen’s current Country radio singles – Top 3 “More Than My Hometown” and Top 30 “7 Summers” – as well as his critically acclaimed cover of Isbell’s “Cover Me Up,” New Year’s surprise release “This Bar,” and the countrified album version of 3X PLATINUM Diplo collaboration, “Heartless.”

“As y’all may have heard, I announced a double album last night, and I couldn’t be more excited about it,” shares Wallen. “The ‘double album’ idea started off as just a joke between me and my manager because we had accumulated so many songs over the past couple of years. Then quarantine hit, and we realized it might actually be possible to have enough time to make it happen.”

“I also ended up writing quite a few more songs during the quarantine with some of my good buddies. After a few months of production and fine-tuning, I am so proud of what we came up with,” Wallen continued. “I know 32 (eventual) songs sounds like a lot to digest, but I truly did my best to make sure there’s not a song that I would press “next” on.”

“I also wanted the songs to speak to multiple phases of life and have multiple different sounds based on my influences and based on what I enjoy,’ said Wallen. “The three songs that we will put out next week will hopefully encapsulate a lot of the project for you and hold you off until January. Thank y’all!!”

Hope Tale - "Girl Eats Sun"  EP

Hope Tale – “Girl Eats Sun”  EP

Today, London-based up and comer Hope Tala continues to build the heat around her name with the reveal of her stunning new EP, Girl Eats Sun, featuring standout Aminé-collaboration, Cherries.”

LISTEN TO GIRL EATS SUN HERE!

Girl Eats Sun solidifies Hope Tala as an artist set to do big things in 2021. With her unique blend of R&B and bossa nova, Hope Tala has crafted a sound that already feels recognizable to her, and there is plenty more on the way.

“Since I started writing music, I’ve used fruit imagery; I’ve always been inspired by the Garden of Eden and the story of Adam and Eve,” Hope Tala states, speaking on ‘Cherries.’ “I think of ‘Cherries’ as being a really corporeal song –  there’s a lot of lyrical content about how the body portrays feeling and emotion, and when I was writing it I used the symbol of cherries as my focal point to help me understand where these two worlds – material and emotional – collide.”

With EP track “All My Girls Like To Fight” currently spinning across BBC Radio 1 as Introducing Track Of The Week, Hope Tala has had a prolific couple of months, returning after a year away to reveal “All My Girls Like To Fight” and “Crazy” to widescale plaudits from Billboard, Refinery29, MTV, Wonderland, The Line Of Best Fit, NOTION, DORK and CLASH, as well as featuring on key Spotify playlists Pollen & Alternative R&B. Girl Eats Sun is the follow up to Hope Tala’s stellar EP Sensitive Soul, a project acclaimed by areas such as Rolling Stone, Vogue and more and featuring Hope Tala’s breakthrough single “Lovestained,” a track which has racked up over 10 million streams since last year.

“At the core of ‘Girl Eats Sun’ is an assertion of confidence and boldness,” Hope Tala explains, speaking on Girl Eats Sun. “The title is a paraphrase of ‘if you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen’ – as the girl eating the sun I’m daring and fearless. I chose this title because I feel as if the songs and stories on this project are more vivid and inventive than anything I’ve released thus far, and I’ve pushed my sound in different, exciting directions.”

Now represented by Dina Sahim and Wassim “SAL” Slaiby at SAL&CO (The Weeknd, Doja Cat, Brandy, Bryson Tiller), Hope Tala is ending 2020 with a flourish. Look out for more in 2021.

ABOUT ISABELA MERCED

After nearly a decade in entertainment, Isabela Merced empowers herself first and foremost on her debut EP, the better half of me [Republic Records]. Rather than looking outward, the 18-year-old singer, songwriter, actress, and performer turns her gaze inward and emerges with five bilingual anthems that boldly break boundaries between cultures and genres.  Growing up in Ohio of Peruana and American descent, she made it to Broadway in Evita at just ten-years-old. As an actress, she appeared in acclaimed films, including Sicario: Day of the Soldado, Instant Family, Transformers: The Last Knight, and Dora and the Lost City of Gold as the iconic title character. Not to mention, she starred in the NETFLIX favorite Let It Snow. Along the way, she simultaneously established herself as a musical force. She teamed up with Sebastian Yatra for “My Only One (No Hay Nadie Más),” generating nearly 50 million Spotify streams. In 2019, her formal solo debut single “Papi” eclipsed 5 million Spotify streams, the official music video was viewed over 12 million times on YouTube, and the song drew acclaim from Refinery29, Billboard, Teen Vogue, and many more.

In the summer and fall of 2019, Isabela immersed herself in music at songwriting camps and in the studio with industry heavy hitters like Justin Tranter [Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber], Andres and Mauricio (“Despacito”), and producers Zach Skelton and G.O Kings Bred.  In 2020, she continued working on what would become the better half of me.  It showcased her writing and voice on a new level, emphasizing growth and unfiltered honesty across the entire body of work. After cowriting “lovin kind,” “chocolate,” and more, “apocalipsis” would be the final track written and recorded. She crafted the song alongside her younger brother and producer, Gyovanni Moner, known as Good Lunch. Upon finishing the five-song EP, she realized the vision was complete and decided to release it from quarantine at home.

Evie Irie – The Pessimist

EVIE IRIE SHARES THE PESSIMIST EP TODAY

FEATURING THE NEW SINGLE “MISFIT”

“There are always two sides to a story, and The Pessimist EP is the side of my story not a lot of people have seen…” – Evie Irie

Rounding out a breakthrough year earmarked by millions of streams and widespread acclaim, seventeen-year-old Sydney-born singer/songwriter Evie Irie presents The Pessimist EP day. Get it HERE via Republic Records.

The project includes fan favorites “Over Him” and “Worst Enemy, which have already tallied over 1 million total streams and counting. It also features the brand new single “Misfit” described by Evie as, “a snapshot of a high-schooler in a bathroom stall, sitting on the toilet eating their cafeteria food alone, turn what their diary would feel like and how the food would taste in that moment, into a song, that would be Misfit.”

The Pessimist picks up where her last project The Optimist EP left off. Regarding the connection between these two opposite halves, Evie commented, “The Optimist EP tells one part of the story – often we are fed through social media a depiction of things that look so perfect they downplay everything or never show any emotion other than being happy. There are always two sides to a story, and The Pessimist EP is the side of my story not a lot of people have seen…”

An Optimist by day, Pessimist by night… well more like a pessimist after 3am, Evie Irie has been hailed as “one to watch” by her peers and music blogs alike blogs. Like some sort of pop alchemist, the Australian singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist turns self-described “weirdness” into universal wonder within her music. By 15-years-old, her talent and drive convinced mom and dad to allow her to move to Nashville where she cut her teeth at countless open mics before winding up in Los Angeles for a short time—a journey chronicled on her 2019 debut EP, 5 Weeks In LA.

Tallying just shy of 8 million streams in a few months’ time, she garnered widespread acclaim from the likes of Refinery29, Idolator, and Atwood Magazine who christened her “one of the most promising teens of pop music today” on its “2020 Artists to Watch.Simultaneously, she shared the stage with everyone from Sigrid to Bastille. The year to come will certainly see Evie continue to bring new light to popular music and culture.

Morgan Wallen – 7 Summers

Big Loud/Republic Records’ Morgan Wallen has released the highly-anticipated official music video for his “dreamy, melancholy and unabashedly wistful” (Billboard) Top 30 single “7 Summers.”

Directed by Justin Clough and shot in Nashville, TN, the cinematic, eight-minute short film marks Wallen’s acting debut and depicts the song’s “nostalgic look back at a lost love” (Rolling Stone), reviving what happened “seven summers ago” on-screen.
