Doja Cat – Freak

Today, multi-platinum, chart topping rapper/singer/songwriter/producer Doja Cat officially releases “Freak” at all digital service providers via Kemosabe/RCA Records. The track, which Doja initially uploaded to her SoundCloud last year quickly became a viral sensation on TikTok with over 1.2 million original creations. With over 5 million streams on SoundCloud, she treats fans by releasing the full track across all platforms while she works on new music.

Earlier this week, Doja was announced as one of the first wave of performers for the VMAs which are set to air live on MTV on August 30th at 8pm EST/PST. Doja is also nominated for 3 awards: PUSH: Best New Artist “Song of the Year” for “Say So” and Best Direction for Hannah Lux Davis on “Say So.” The nominations mark Doja’s first major award show nods continuing her breakthrough year. Fans can vote HERE.

Born and raised in L.A., Doja Cat made her first upload to Soundcloud in 2013 at just 16-years-old. She developed a knack for music by studying piano and dance as a kid and listening to the likes of Busta Rhymes, Erykah Badu, Nicki Minaj, Drake, and more. Soon, she went from obsessing over Catwoman (the Halle Berry version) to “crate digging” on YouTube. The budding talent taught herself Logic and how to compose on a midi controller.

Signed to RCA during 2014, she has released her Purrr! EP followed with her debut album Amala in spring 2018, but it was her August 2018 release of “Mooo!” which catapulted her into the mainstream and was met with critical acclaim. With co-signs from Chance The Rapper, Katy Perry, Chris Brown and J.Cole among others.

2019 was a big year for Doja, proving she is a mainstay artist with the release of tracks like “Tia Tamera” ft. Rico Nasty and her breakout hit “Juicy” ft. Tyga which appears on her sophomore album Hot Pink, released in November. She made her late night debut performance of the track on Late Night with Seth Meyers. She was also named the iHeart Radio “On The Verge” artist, with “Juicy” reaching #1 on the Rhythm radio chart and top 10 at Urban. Hot Pink has received rave reviews in the press and continues to be recognized as her strongest work to date with nearly 2 billion streams and video views combined.

Live, Doja has played numerous festivals and live shows including Rap Caviar Live Miami, Posty Fest, Day n Vegas, Rolling Loud LA and will play Coachella, Rolling Loud Miami, Broccoli City Fest later this year.

2020 kicked off another amazing year for the hybrid artist with the success of her single “Say So” continuing to climb the charts. She has delivered electrifying performances of the track on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Voice and The Late Late Show with James Corden. The track is RIAA certified platinum, reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100,  #1 at Top 40 radio for 5 consecutive weeks, reached #1 at Rhythm radio, has over 180 million video views, and over 20 million Tik Tok videos created. The track has been streamed nearly 1 billion times worldwide. The follow up “Like That” ft. Gucci Mane is currently climbing the radio charts sitting inside the Top 20 at Top 40 radio and inside the Top 10 at Rhythm. Doja was also the first Vevo LIFT artist to be announced for 2020.

GLASS ANIMALS, 360 MAGAZINE

Glass Animals New Song “Heat Waves”

Glass Animals releases new single “Heat Waves” in anticipation of their new album Dreamland, coming out August 7th

Watch the “Heat Waves” music video here and listen to the new single here

“Heat Waves” is the brand-new single from Glass Animals. Taken from their fast approaching third album Dreamland, “Heat Waves” is out now on Republic Records. Dreamland will now be released on August 7th, delayed in order to respect and support the ongoing Black Lives Matter movement.

Bursting with all the wonderful tricks that we have come to expect from Glass Animals’ enigmatic frontman and producer Dave Bayley, “Heat Waves” is the introspective summer hit within Dreamland. A scorching, bass-heavy pop-trip, “Heat Waves” is a distorted Glass Animals love song, exploring how relationships can blur your personality and change you in ways you don’t even realize until you take a step back.

“Heat Waves” comes alongside a stunningly cinematic video, directed by Colin Read. It finds Dave Bayley meandering the deserted streets of lock-down London, as on-lookers watch him slowly make his way to an empty venue.

On making the video, Dave says, “The ‘Heat Waves’ video is a love letter to live music and the culture and togetherness surrounding it. It was filmed at the peak of the lockdown in my neighborhood in East London by the lovely people who live around me, just using their phones. These are people who are usually out at shows, in galleries, going to cinemas, etc. These venues are left empty now, and many of them will not survive. The song is about loss and longing, and ultimately realizing you are unable to save something…and this video is about that but for art, being together and human contact. Huge love and thank you’s to everyone who got involved and helped out. When everyone was leaning out of their windows filming, I felt that same sense of togetherness and spine-tingling energy that happened at live shows. It made the coldness of performing to an empty room with the band stuck on screens feel even more heart-breaking.”

Fundamentally a nostalgic memoir of his life so far, in Dreamland Bayley covers expansive and difficult ground. As a result, the brand-new album is packed full of intensely sensitive and personal experiences, none more emotional than when the band’s drummer Joe Seaward was involved in a monstrous bike accident in July 2018, which threatened his life and that of Glass Animals altogether. Born at a time of immense confusion for the band, it’s an album that truly mirrors the uncertainty of the world today.

Originally to be released in May, Glass Animals had planned to celebrate Dreamland’s arrival with two back-to-back shows at the iconic Red Rocks, supported by recent collaborator Denzel Curry. It was due to kick-off a busy 2020 that should have seen the band play venues and arenas across the globe, and celebrate the release of their new record with their fans.

However, with all of that temporarily thrown up in the air and being the extraordinarily forward-thinking band that they have always been, Glass Animals have adapted wonderfully to their new situation. From his home studio, Bayley has been creating, building, writing, performing, producing and beyond to ensure the band is constantly connecting with their international fan base, offering a host of creative distractions for people in lockdown. The video for title track “Dreamland” set the bar impressively high for what can be achieved by one person in his London flat, under remote direction. Elsewhere, Dave has recorded and released a series of covers, including a collaboration with Arlo Parks to take on Drake’s “Hotline Bling.”  In addition, their first release “Your Love (Déjà vu)” reached top 10 at Triple A and Alternative radio, while making waves with its eye-catching music video. More recently, the band has released Open Source, a website where fans can use exclusive, unreleased content to create their own music and artwork, aired their own Dreamland TV Network, and hosted Mario Kart tournaments on Twitch.

Dreamland will be released on Republic Records on August 7th and can be pre-ordered here.

About Glass Animals:

Amassing over two billion global streams to date, British four-piece Glass Animals is led by singer, songwriter and producer Dave Bayley with his bandmates and childhood friends Joe Seaward, Ed Irwin-Singer and Drew MacFarlane. Their second album, How To Be A Human Being, was one of the most critically acclaimed and widely adored records of 2016. With praise from various press outlets, including Billboard, Pitchfork, The FADER, The Guardian, The Telegraph and more, it was nominated for the Mercury Prize Album Of The Year Award in 2017. Glass Animals also made appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Seth Meyers and The Late Late Show with James Corden. As well as producing both of Glass Animals’ studio albums, ZABA and How To Be A Human Being, Dave has worked with a number of artists outside of the band, including 6lack, Khalid, Joey Bada$$, DJ Dahi, Flume and MorMor.

Hey Violet’s “Better By Myself”

HEY VIOLET RELEASE NEW SINGLE “BETTER BY MYSELF” TODAY

ON HI OR HEY/CAPITOL RECORDS

OFFICIAL VIDEO ALSO DEBUTS TODAY HERE

TICKETS ON-SALE TODAY FOR UPCOMING SHOWS IN SAN FRANCISCO, L.A., NYC, AND WASHINGTON DC

“Better By Myself” is the first new music the Los Angeles-based alt-pop band has released since

their critically acclaimed 2017 debut album From the Outside.

Hey Violet release a new single “Better By Myself” today on Hi or Hey/Capitol Records and available for streaming and purchase from all digital partners. In addition, an official video for the song, directed by Marcella Cytrynowicz, debuts today. Watch it HERE. “Better By Myself” which was co-written by Hey Violet, Gabe Simon, and producer Daniel Nigro, is the first of four new tracks the band is set to release throughout the Spring and Summer.

“Better By Myself” captures the duality inherent in feeling invincible in solitude because you don’t need anyone, but recognizing that perhaps being totally alone isn’t necessarily the best path forward. “It’s about being in an unhealthy relationship and having the courage to leave, but realizing maybe you’re isolating a little much,” says Hey Violet frontwoman Rena Lovelis. “I think we need to fall in love with ourselves before we fall in love with anybody else and that’s why the song sounds so celebratory. It’s about finding that happy medium between I don’t need anyone, which tends to be a defense mechanism, and being truly okay with yourself.”

Hey Violet’s 2017 debut album From the Outside featured the singles “Guys My Age,” which has amassed over 230 million global streams, “Break My Heart,” and “Hoodie,” which is approaching 200 million streams. The album racked up critical praise, including accolades from The New York Times, which called it “one of this year’s best and most provocative pop albums.” Stereogum noted that it “has plenty of attitude thanks to Lovelis’ vocal and lyrical presence,” and NYLON declared, “I challenge you to find a debut album as explosive and technicolored as Hey Violet’s From The Outside (the album) pulses with cheeky hooks and middle fingers to the status quo. Lead singer Rena Lovelis’ voice is arena-shaking. You’re in for one hell of a ride.”

Over the past few years, Hey Violet, which is Rena Lovelis, her sister Nia Lovelis (drums), Casey Moreta (lead guitar) and Iain Shipp (bass) have steadily built an engaged fanbase with their powerful, immaculately crafted alt-pop songs. “Guys My Age” was named one of the Best Songs of 2016 by The New York Times, who called it “teen-pop’s revenge: an urgent dark song about sexual rebellion” and one of the 20 Best Songs of 2016 by V Magazine. In 2017, Hey Violet was also nominated for an iHeart Radio award for Best Underground Alternative Band, dubbed an “Artist Primed For A Breakout” by Billboard, and named “Artist To Watch” by The Guardian, PopCrush, and more. The band has racked over half a billion streams worldwide, sold out their North American headline tour and performed on both The Late Late Show With James Corden and Late Night With Seth Meyers.

Hey Violet will perform several upcoming shows to celebrate the release of their new music.

Celebrating the record’s release, he took the stage at The Late Late Show with James Corden last night. The young artist delivered a hyper-charged medley of new single “Golden Dandelions” and audience favorite “Glitter & Gold.” Watch it HERE.

Unleashing one anthem after another, Barns Courtney stands on the verge of a major breakout with The Attractions of Youth. Following the runaway success of “Fire,” his current single Golden Dandelions has hit Top 20 at Alternative Radio and is continuing its stead climb, closing in on 3 million Spotify streams to date. It’s his fifth track to crack one million streams. So far, he’s cumulatively amassed nearly 75 million streams globally – with close to 50% of those coming from the U.S. His music has also soundtracked promotional spots for Miller Lite and Showtime in addition to appearing on the big screen in The Founder. The Green Bay Packers even tapped Barns Courtney to re-record “Glitter & Gold” as “Green & Gold”-their team anthem for 2017.

Becoming a widely recognized presence, he cameoed in the video for Charli XCX’s “Boys,” which racked up 15 million views in its first week. He has opened for The Who at London’s Wembley Stadium and has also supported Ed Sheeran, Elle King, Blur, Fitz and The Tantrums, Tom Odell and The Libertines.
