Purple Disco Machine × Sophie and the Giants – In The Dark

Purple Disco Machine and Sophie and the Giants team up one again for their disco-tech single “In The Dark,” via Casablanca Records. Listen to the brand-new single HERE and watch the music video HERE.

Purple Disco Machine’s “Exotica Deluxe” album releases on Friday, March 4, 2022 – pre-order HERE.

A collaboration between Purple Disco Machine and Sophie’s is a recipe for pure perfection; the combination of funky production with supernatural melody and vocals can’t be matched. Their past partnership on the song “Hypnotized” reached over 350 million streams, gained a variety of Platinum certifications across Europe and hit #9 on the Global Shazam Charts. The track, too, was prosperous in Italy, where it went platinum 5 x. The success of the single led to the duo’s performance at the Power Hits Estate 2020 live from Verona Stadium.

The partnership between both artists produces another captivating, upbeat hit. The melody of the track produces a transcendent, modern aura, which is contrasted against the emotional lyrics of the song. The story that “In The Dark” produces through its lyricism and melody is one that a lot of young individuals could relate to modern day. The song proclaims the message of falling for someone they know they shouldn’t, but nonetheless, the heart wants what the heart wants. The delicate, exquisite vocals paired with deep lyricism makes for an incredible track. Sophie sings, “Pulled me in with your words so sweet, every time I ignored the sign, redemption’s mine on the day I leave, fallin’ for you was my only crime.”

In The Dark” comes after a rather prosperous period of time for Purple Disco Machine, following the issue of the producer’s sophomore album “Exotica,” and the dancefloor complement “Club Exotica.” The inspiration for the studio album stemmed from pop culture and artists of the 80s. The project includes 14 tracks with international phenomena “Hypnotized” with Sophie and the Giants, “Fireworks” feat. Moss Kena & The Knocks, and “Dopamine” feat. Eyelar. The album, to date, collects over 500 million streams.

Purple Disco Machine ranks as the #2 Beatport Artist of All Time, the impact that he has had on the disco/ dance industry is unmatched. Purple Disco Machine has remixed artists such as Dua Lipa, Calvin Harris, Sir Elton John, Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande, Diplo and so many more. Accumulating over 1 billion streams across all his works, he has made his mark and stamped his place in the world of disco production.

George O’Hanlon – How Are You Feeling

Rising UK singer/songwriter George O’Hanlon makes his 2022 debut with his new single “How Are You Feeling?” available now via Harvest Records. Listen to “How Are You Feeling?HERE.

The single finds inspiration from rock icons like Radiohead, Springsteen, Nirvana and Slowdive. Throughout the track, intricate guitar work combined with an uplifting chorus makes it one you’ll want to give a listen to. “How Are You Feeling” also comes as the introduction to George’s full touring band on a single.

As a songwriter, George is able to showcase his true talents in the single. He states, “The song is about how you find your path as a person, especially during your late teens early 20’s, and the ups-and-downs that come with that. To me it’s a really positive song about people finding their way.”

About George O’Hanlon

Gaining practice through performing in the college circuit, George O’Hanlon has been perfecting his craft for quite some time. Working on his music by performing and writing for the past few years, George launched his career in 2021 with his debut EP, The Storm. While his musical inspirations range from artists like Bob Dylan, Jeff Buckley and Thom Yorke, George’s music has natural literary soul. He captives his fans by referencing his own life experiences, outlining them in new perceptions.

While rising as a budding talent in the UK music scene, George has gained affirmation from Abi McCarthy at BBC Introducing and Jack Saunders at Radio 1. You can find George typically performing at grassroots venues, while he toured the UK last September with his band. They traveled to small venues around the UK together. Noting the experience, George exclaimed, “We spent hours with four of us crammed in a car with all our gear. The tough bits are service stations at 3 in in the morning and things like that but playing the shows made it all worth it.”

You can catch George performing at his first US show at Austin’s South by Southwest Festival.

PROSPA – VOYAGE

UK Duo Prospa Reveal New EP “Rave Science Vol. 2” With the Release of New Track “Voyage”

Legendary UK dance music duo Prospa announce their forthcoming EP, “Rave Science Vol. 2′” along with the first single from the project, Voyage.” Very few UK artists have had such an impact on the return to live music as Prospa. The London-via-Leeds duo have tirelessly toured the country’s festival and club circuits since their reopening, bringing with them a slew of new music ready to make its mark for the first time.

Among these tracks is their soul-rendering electronic anthem “WANT NEED LOVE, an uplifting omnipresent force through car stereos this summer, and now a fully-fledged singalong moment at the likes of Warehouse Project and as they headline the North Stage at 2021’s Field Day. With the nation’s re-emergence on to dance floors, Prospa are ready to cause damage once again, announcing the follow up to their acclaimed Rave Science Vol. 1″ EP with a brand new single, ‘Voyage’.

The Rave Science ethos is the bring the stadium sized energy of Prospa’s work and distill it, creating tracks that sound as at home in sweat soaked basement venues as they do in cavernous warehouses. ‘”Voyage’” is a perfect distillation of this mission statement; with a processed break as it’s rhythmic centrepiece, vast ambient textures and a dizzying synth line that disorientates as much as it hypnotizes. The track builds towards a stunning apex with distorted bass tones and a suitably infectious vocal sample, spotlighting Prospa’s deft ability to create wildly imaginative works of club euphoria from seemingly nowhere – taking cues from the past while abstracting them enough to feel completely future facing.

“Voyage” and the forthcoming “Rave Science Vol. 2 EP” are stunning examples of Prospa’s distinct club energy within their compositions; full bodied enough to cause a visceral reaction on the dance floor, yet inviting enough to attract massive crowds nationwide. With club’s reopened and the UK’s hunger for new, boundary pushing sounds at an all-time high, now’s the perfect time to reacquaint yourself with Prospa, the duo repurposing rave euphoria for a new generation.

Willow Kayne – I DON’T WANNA KNOW

“Her irreverent lyricism and hip hop-infused beats and emo punk aesthetics make her a splash of cold water to the face as far as the pop landscape is concerned.” – Dazed

“A brilliantly chaotic sound” – i-D

“Gutsy and spiky-edged come to mind when digesting the alt-pop bops of Willow Kayne.” – The Line Of Best Fit

“The Gen Z talent links together huge opposing forces, creating her own potent brand of rebel-pop.” –  Clash

After capturing imaginations with her rabble-rousing, genre-fluid debut single “Two Seater” back in May, London-via-Bristol superstar in waiting Willow Kayne has returned with a brand new single “I Don’t Wanna Know.”

Teaming up with UK hitmaker Oscar Scheller, “I Don’t Wanna Know” takes all of the attitude Willow has become synonymous with and ramps it up to 11 – taking cues from the old school rave culture that she is obsessed with by sticking a middle finger up to trolls over a drum & bass indebted backing. Inspired by the very real online abuse Willow received on TikTok, it’s a high energy example of just how unpredictable a talent Willow is, and how easy she makes it look; the track is packed with hilarious one-liners that cut those who have bullied her online to size. “I Don’t Wanna Know” is an empowering anthem that deals with real life Gen Z issues with a sense of confidence that feels so refreshing in the landscape of pop today.

Buy/Stream “I Don’t Wanna Know” here.

The track’s visual builds on Willow’s own postmodern sense of creation with a surreal take on the track’s subject matter. Directed by Bedroom (Beabadoobee, Arlo Parks, Sports Team), the video finds Willow falling victim to online trolls (also played by herself) before flying through cyberspace to learn that success is the best revenge, all in Willow’s own cartoonish, singular vision.

The video comes alongside the news that Willow has been nominated for the Rising Star award at this year’s Ivor Novello awards. Alongside the nomination, Willow has been paired in a mentorship scheme with legendary songwriter Nile Rodgers ahead of the ceremony on September 21st 2021.

Watch the “I Don’t Wanna Know” music video here.

A bracingly vivid look into the creative mind of one of 2021’s most fiercely uncompromising pop talents, “I Don’t Wanna Know” is the perfect example of Willow Kayne’s powers. Weaving relatable stories amongst high-energy unpredictable sonics, Willow is still breathing new life into a scene that’s been without anarchy and spontaneity for years, and in her hands, the future of pop will be anything but boring.
