Lute – Gold Mouf Deluxe

After crafting an entrancing debut, headlined by his gripping issues with anxiety and self-doubt, North Carolina MC Lute quenched fans’ thirst for more music with his deluxe release of Gold Mouf, including “Luther’s Freestyle,” “Run It Back,” and “Like Wine.” The latter receives the visual treatment from 12VY as GRAMMY-Award winner DJ Drama bolsters Lute’s lyrical exercise with his braggadocios adlibs. Standing in front of a fleet of cars, including a cherry red BMW, Lute’s confidence reigns supreme as he barks at his detractors with a series of jabs: “Shit, so fuck who ain’t believin’ me/ Can never say I’m wack, ’cause you rap niggas never seein’ me.” “Like Wine” comes on the heels of Lute’s recently released videos “Eye to Eye” and “Changes.” Check out Lute’s latest offering HERE

The GRAMMY-nominated rapper’s newest project is just one of many exciting developments in recent weeks. Lute performed at the long-awaited return of the annual Dreamville Festival last month, with his set praised in a shoutout from Complex. He also joined his labelmates for two cuts on the D-Day: A Gangsta Grillz Mixtape compilation, which debuted in the top 5 of Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Top Rap Albums charts.

With Gold Mouf Chronicles, Lute gets vulnerable about his battle with anxiety, and the toll it had on his family.  He also shares his bout with open-heart surgery that left his future up to fate. While the procedure was successful, Lute’s experiences have a lasting mental and physical impact. But rather than succumb to his fears, Lute valiantly wears his vulnerabilities on his sleeves, advancing his skills as an MC and deepening his connection with his fans

Purple Disco Machine × Sophie and the Giants – In The Dark

Purple Disco Machine and Sophie and the Giants team up one again for their disco-tech single “In The Dark,” via Casablanca Records. Listen to the brand-new single HERE and watch the music video HERE.

Purple Disco Machine’s “Exotica Deluxe” album releases on Friday, March 4, 2022 – pre-order HERE.

A collaboration between Purple Disco Machine and Sophie’s is a recipe for pure perfection; the combination of funky production with supernatural melody and vocals can’t be matched. Their past partnership on the song “Hypnotized” reached over 350 million streams, gained a variety of Platinum certifications across Europe and hit #9 on the Global Shazam Charts. The track, too, was prosperous in Italy, where it went platinum 5 x. The success of the single led to the duo’s performance at the Power Hits Estate 2020 live from Verona Stadium.

The partnership between both artists produces another captivating, upbeat hit. The melody of the track produces a transcendent, modern aura, which is contrasted against the emotional lyrics of the song. The story that “In The Dark” produces through its lyricism and melody is one that a lot of young individuals could relate to modern day. The song proclaims the message of falling for someone they know they shouldn’t, but nonetheless, the heart wants what the heart wants. The delicate, exquisite vocals paired with deep lyricism makes for an incredible track. Sophie sings, “Pulled me in with your words so sweet, every time I ignored the sign, redemption’s mine on the day I leave, fallin’ for you was my only crime.”

In The Dark” comes after a rather prosperous period of time for Purple Disco Machine, following the issue of the producer’s sophomore album “Exotica,” and the dancefloor complement “Club Exotica.” The inspiration for the studio album stemmed from pop culture and artists of the 80s. The project includes 14 tracks with international phenomena “Hypnotized” with Sophie and the Giants, “Fireworks” feat. Moss Kena & The Knocks, and “Dopamine” feat. Eyelar. The album, to date, collects over 500 million streams.

Purple Disco Machine ranks as the #2 Beatport Artist of All Time, the impact that he has had on the disco/ dance industry is unmatched. Purple Disco Machine has remixed artists such as Dua Lipa, Calvin Harris, Sir Elton John, Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande, Diplo and so many more. Accumulating over 1 billion streams across all his works, he has made his mark and stamped his place in the world of disco production.

About Kidd G

Born and raised in the small Georgia town of Hamilton, Kidd G first gained widespread recognition through TikTok and SoundCloud. Kidd G posted some songs that he recorded online with his friend Nolie Beats, and in 2020 Rebel Music signed him. Though his preliminary single “Sorry” had a modern hip-hop flare, he soon after began adding in his Southern roots to his songwriting. Continuing his music on SoundCloud, his fans became loyal and fond of his southernly appeal.

Kidd G’s first viral hit came from his song “Dirt Road,” with its video amassing over 5 million views on YouTube in a little over one month. Hank Williams Jr. serves as one of Kidd G’s leading inspirations, as he states, “I love country because it feels so natural to me, and you can really tell stories in the songs.” Now emersed in his music career, he accumulates around 1.5M monthly Spotify listeners. His music has been played across KIX Country Radio in Australia, as well as country playlists involving Amazon Music’s ‘Country Heat’ (rose to No. 2) and Spotify’s ‘Hot Country’ (rose to No. 3).

Now embarking on his introduction solo tour and his partnership with Big Machine Label GroupsThe Valory Music Co., Kidd G heads in the year of 2022 with the sky as the limit.

Kiana Ledé – KIKI

By Cassandra Yany

Platinum-selling artist Kiana Ledé released seven brand new songs Friday to expand her critically acclaimed album KIKI. These tracks help the Phoenix-born and LA-based singer to show more seduction, spirit and soul than she has before.

The deluxe version includes the single “Only Fan” featuring Jacquees, on which lustful verses, airy guitar and a steady beat create a throwback R&B energy. The two artists sing back and forth as Jacquees’ falsetto reaches a hypnotic peak. The album now contains a bonus track, “Youth” featuring GRAMMY Award-winning blues rock artist Gary Clark Jr., who brings smooth vocals and a head-bobbing riff to the song.

KIKI was first released on April 3 and earned a spot in the Top 5 of the Billboard Top R&B Albums Chart, Top 5 of the Apple Music R&B/ Soul Albums Chart, Top 5 of the iTunes R&B/ Soul Albums Chart and Top 10 of the Apple Music Overall Albums Chart. About Kiana Ledé

Just who is Kiana Ledé? On the one hand, you know her as a fierce and fiery force in R&B responsible for bangers such as the platinum-certified “EX,” “Mad At Me” and “Chocolate” feat. On her aptly titled full-length debut, she reveals every side of herself: the vulnerability, the vitality, the anger, the lust, the loyalty, the joy, the darkness, and the truth as evinced on song.

Long before all of this, the songstress “from South Phoenix with Black, Mexican, Native American, and White ancestry” grew up between divorced parents. She played classical instruments and competed in pageants—but popped wheelies on dirt bikes and got under the hood to fix a car or two. Eventually, an adventurous spirit carried her from Arizona to Los Angeles where she began a journey that comes full circle in 2020.

ABOUT THE WHO
The Who are one of the top three greatest rock legacies in music history with 9 US & 10 UK top ten albums and 14 UK top ten singles.

They have played over well over 2000 gigs in a career spanning over 50 years including venues such as Woodstock, Monterey Pop, Glastonbury (twice), Hyde Park (four times), The Isle Of Wight (three times), the closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympics, Desert Trip, Shea Stadium, The Superbowl half time show and Live Aid to name but a very few.

The band is in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, the UK Music Hall Of Fame and has lifetime achievement awards from The Brits and The Grammys and in 2008 were the first rock band ever to be awarded the prestigious Kennedy Center Honors.

Emerging in the mid-1960s as a new and incendiary force in rock n’ roll, their brash style and poignant storytelling garnered them one of music’s most passionate followings, with the legendary foursome blazing a searing new template for rock, punk, and everything after.

Inducted into the Rock n’ Roll Hall Of Fame in 1990, the band has placed 27 top-forty singles in the United States and United Kingdom and earning 17 Top Ten albums, including the 1969 groundbreaking rock opera Tommy, 1971’s pummeling Live At Leeds, 1973’s Quadrophenia and 1978’s Who Are You. The Who debuted in 1964 with a trio of anthems “I Can’t Explain,” “The Kids Are Alright” and “My Generation.” Since then they have delivered to the world hits such as “Baba O’Riley,” “Won’t Get Fooled Again,” “Pinball Wizard,” Who Are You,” and,” You Better You Bet.”

In 2008, they became the first rock band ever to be awarded the prestigious Kennedy Center Honors. The Who has performed all over the world including global music events for the Super Bowl XLIV Halftime Show in 2010 and closing the Summer Olympics in 2012. The Who continued their charity work by playing a concert in January 2011 to raise money for trials of a new cancer treatment called PDT. In December 2012 they performed at the Hurricane Sandy Benefit in New York.

Alongside his groundbreaking work with the Teenage Cancer Trust in the UK, in November 2012 Daltrey, with Townshend at his side, launched Teen Cancer America, $1 from each ticket sold for the 2019 MOVING ON! TOUR which each night features a full orchestra benefited Teen Cancer America (www.teencanceramerica.org)

With both Roger and Pete delivering their own memoirs in recent years (Pete’s Who I Am was released to much acclaim in 2012, and Roger’s autobiography, Thanks A Lot Mr. Kibblewhite; My Story, was embraced by critics in 2018) it’s fitting that the two remaining WHO members have shared their incredible legacy in literary fashion, for few bands have had a more lasting impact on the rock era and the reverberating pop culture than The Who.

Aminé Drops “Riri” Video

Aminé drops co-directed music video for “Riri”

Portland-based rapper, artist, director, culture shaker and innovative ingenue Aminé delivers his video for “Riri” which he co-directed with longtime visual collaborator Jack Bergert. The video was filmed in quarantine around LA mansions with cameos from the likes of beloved sports broadcaster Taylor Rooks. Aminé even locked writer/comedian Jak Knight, from ABC’s Black-ish, for a closing skit in the “RiRi” video.

“We shot this video before the murder of George Floyd & my knowledge of the Breonna Taylor case,” Aminé writes “but I felt compelled to delay its release for obvious reasons. Activism is essential right now so I put my focus there for the past few weeks. We skipped editing sessions to march in the Black Lives Matter protests. I’m dropping the ‘Riri’ video today because it’s important to show black joy in a time where we’re constantly seeing imagery of pain and suffering.”

Pegged “one of the most creative voices in hip-hop, Aminé shakes the culture every time he releases a new song” (Hot New Hip Hop) and “Riri” is no different. Complex Magazine reportedly “wouldn’t be surpris[ed] if the real Rihanna was caught on Instagram enjoying the new tune.” Hypebeast cosigns that “the centerpiece of ‘Riri’ is Aminé’s soulful hook and reflective lyrics buoyed by bassrich production from frequent collaborator Pasqué.”

In addition to the excitement of the new music video, Aminé has also joined forces with former YEEZY designer Sara Jaramillo and Alice Wang’s ILYSM to offer a $500 grant this week for an artist impacted by COVID-19 shutdowns. Applications for this round of #ILYSM4Artists are due by noon EST on Thursday 6/25 at ILYSM.COM .

About Aminé:

Artists who move culture forward create their own. Aminé’s debut LP, “Good For You” did just that for Portland’s music scene, hiphop and the culture at large — buoyed by his 5x platinum RIAA certified breakout smash “Caroline,” “REDMERCEDES” and “Wedding Crashers” [feat. Offset]. The album which displayed mosaic influence from his parents’ Ethiopian heritage to trailblazers like Kanye West and André 3000, made an instantly indelible impact — scoring a RIAA gold certification, millions of singles streams, Spotify #1s, and 21 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 Songs Chart, peaking at #11. Aminé further solidified himself as a force of nature between explosive festival sets and show-stopping late nights. Maintaining this momentum, while owning his subdued profile and preference for an AirBNB wilderness cabin over a posh studio for recording, Aminé released his self-described 2018 EP/LP/MIXTAPE/ ALBUM “ONEPOINTFIVE.”

Earlier this year, Aminé continued on his promise to change perceptions and defy expectations with “Shimmy” paying homage to his past, while declaring 2020 as his. Accompanied by a co-directed music video love letter to Portland, the song garnered 20 Million streams globally and the gamut of fanfare which you can watch here. Continuing to expand his influence, Aminé also recently appeared on HBO’s Insecure this month.
