City Girls heating up the summer and charts via 360 MAGAZINE

CITY GIRLS × USHER

Heating up summer to a boiling point, Miami’s own multiplatinum duo City Girls return with a brand new single and music video entitled “Good Love” [feat. Usher] via Quality Control Music / Motown Records. Listen to “Good Love” — HERE. Watch the music video — HERE.

The track’s upbeat production kickstarts a head-nodding dancefloor-ready groove. Eight-time GRAMMY Award-winner Usher cruises through with an instantly irresistible promise, “I can freak you ‘til the morning.” Meanwhile, Yung Miami and JT trade slick, seductive, and scorching bars. In the accompanying visual, Usher and the ladies take over a roller rink in true throwback style complete with show-stopping choreography on skates! It might just be the wildest video yet from City Girls.

It arrives on the heels of the fan favorite “Top Notch” [feat. Fivio Foreign]. It has already amassed 3 million Spotify streams and over 7 million YouTube views on the music video. Right out of the gate, it landed major looks. Beyond plugs from The FADER and more, HYPEBAE noted, “Yung Miami and JT demonstrate their flavor,” and HYPEBEAST exclaimed, “On the hard-hitting ‘Top Notch,’ JT and Yung Miami confidently refute rumors and gossip.” NME put it best, “It’s full of the duo’s typical bravado.”

Right now, City Girls are prepping their follow-up to 2020’s City On Lock. The latter graced year-end lists by NPR, Rolling Stone, and Vice, to name a few.

City Girls continue to run the game. JT recently joined forces with Summer Walker for “Ex For A Reason” on Still Over It, generating a staggering 32.2 million Spotify streams and 10 million YouTube views on the music video. Additionally, the album bowed at #1 on the Billboard Top 200.

Most recently from Yung Miami was the lasciviously lusty “Rap Freaks.” It earned widespread acclaim from UPROXX who noted, “Miami rap duo City Girls is already well-known for their raunchy rhymes, but on Yung Miami’s new solo single ‘Rap Freaks,’ she pulls out all the stops.” However, Billboard put it best, “Yung Miami just went there.”

Nestled within Eataly’s marketplace, Toscana occupies an intimate dining room inspired by the famous gardens and historic architecture of its namesake region. Upon entering the 94-seat eatery set behind ivy-covered arches, guests are welcomed with an open woodfire grill and contemporary Tuscan-style decor, offering a convivial atmosphere reminiscent of the Tuscan countryside. 

The menu features classic dishes that emphasize Tuscany’s ancient culinary heritage and take guests on a sensory journey through the streets of Florence. Over centuries, cooks perfected recipes born from peasant traditions like Ribollita, the staple Tuscan comfort dish of stewed beans, and Ravioli Maremmani, pillowy pasta squares filled with ricotta and spinach and topped with Così Com’è tomato sauce. The Bistecca “alla Fiorentina” (meaning cooked Firenze-style), is not to be missed –– prepared according to strict guidelines, the porterhouse steak has an artfully seared exterior crust and a perfectly-cooked interior.

The Instagram-worthy cocktail menu features beloved classics with Las Vegas flair, like creative takes on the infamous Old-fashioned and the Corpse Reviver No. 2. Highlighted on the menu is the Negroni Toscana where guests are invited to build their own cocktail with a selection of gin, bitters, and vermouth. There’s even a Not Not Negroni section for variations on the Italian classic like a Boulevardier, where whiskey replaces gin.

No Tuscan meal would be complete without an extensive wine collection. From the western shore regions of Bolgheri to the historic villages of Chianti and Montalcino, guests are invited to take a 700 year journey through Tuscany’s noble winemaking legacy with a selection of over 450 Italian wines and over 30 wines by the glass.

After dinner, guests can choose from an impressive dolce selection or house-made gelato served tableside with an array  of toppings like Fabbri Amarena cherries and flourless chocolate crumble. Adventurous guests can also explore a large amaro and grappa selection for an after-dinner digestivo. At the conclusion of service, all guests are invited to try housemade cantucci, a traditional Tuscan almond cookie.

Global superstar Justin Bieber announces the final North American show of his sold-out Justice World Tour, set to take place at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on July 3. Tickets for the July 3 Forum show will go on sale this Friday May 6 at 10am PT via Ticketmaster.

Yayo Da Cartune – Make It Rain

Yayo Da Cartune releases a one-of-a-kind virtual reality music video for “Make it Rain”. The video is an immersive 360 experience, meaning if a viewer watches with virtual reality goggles, they can view the video as if they were physically interacting inside of the world. Instead of being an outside listener to the melodic yet pulsating track, fans can experience from within, bringing a whole new meaning to interactive listening. Watch the video HERE.

Yayo‘s songs together tell a distinct story of loss, loyalty, pain and turmoil; all aspects of the grave conditions he grew up in. His soundtrack for the struggle lays bare his emotions and exposes a side of him he previously kept to himself. Raised as one of six children, Yayo’s been surrounded by music since he was a kid. Growing up, he and his siblings would use blank cassette tapes to record Lil Wayne tracks from the radio, and his young single mother would play songs from artists like Dru Hill, Ginuwine, Tyrese, and Usher.

 By the age of 13, he’d been arrested, beginning a streak of jail stints that would stretch for over a decade. While time behind bars kept him away from friends and family, it brought him closer to music. Shy by nature, he entered jail singing competitions to help pull him out of his shell. After being released in 2016, Yayo dove in, using his skill as a tattoo artist to provide a source of income and keep him out of trouble. At first, Yayo released raucous, free-associative freestyles, but as he listened to Drake, Future and T-Pain, his sound evolved into something more melodic and emotionally charged. After years of releasing music and working as a well-respected tattoo artist, he started picking up momentum toward the end of 2020, releasing songs like “Live to Die” and previewing other tracks on Instagram. Months and hundreds of thousands of IG post views later, he secured a deal with Jonny Shipes and Cinematic Music Group.

The Underground Chicago Review

360 Magazine was invited to Chicago’s most-exclusive nightclub for an evening of merrymaking, music and memories. The Underground Chicago recently reopened last weekend after a fifteen-month lockdown and is yet again revitalizing Chicago’s VIP social scene. The choice club for A-listers– including celebrities like Justin Bieber, UsherLaBron James, David BeckhamWill.I.Am, and Miley Cyrus– The Underground consistently delivers elevated experiences surrounding music, cocktails, fashion, art and design. Entrepreneur and owner of The Underground, Billy Dec, comments on the club’s long-awaited re-opening:

The COVID pandemic has wiped out many live music and nightclub venues across the country,” says Dec. “Historically, nightclubs have had a pivotal role in cultural evolution. The vibrant ambiance of The Underground reflected the colorful diversity of guests inside, all of which were busy unleashing their signature moves on the packed dance floor. The discotheque throbbed with ecstatic energy and heavy bass lines all night long. A state-of-the-art sound system blared trendy music across all corners of the club for all to hear. The ambiance of the tunes was complimented by thrilling pyrotechnics and digital screens that projected artsy flicks.

Upon arriving at the legendary establishment, 360 Magazine was greeted with service from hospitable, welcoming staff members– including security and a stylish porter. On the particular night we visited, Lil Jon made a star appearance. Lil Jon, the musical mastermind behind releases such as Turn Down for What, Get Low, Cyclone, and Alive (with Offset and 2 Chainz), filled the club with energy and exuberance. Soundscapes swelled across every crowded corner of the club as the rapper delivered an incredible performance.

Lil Jon wasn’t the only celebrity guest, as he performed alongside Emmy award-winning TV host, actor and personality, Billy Dec. Dec also is the restaurateur and owner of the iconic nightclub but is best known for his roles in “Chicagoland,” “Mollywood,” “One Small Hitch,” and “Adventures in the Sin Bin,” among others. Dec has also appearance on many national broadcast programs, including NBC’s Today Show and NBC Today in Nashville.

Looking ahead, Dec is set to open The Underground’s sister venue, The Underground Cocktail Club. Scheduled to open over Lollapalooza weekend (July 30-Aug 1), this new establishment will feature a separate entrance to The Underground’s building and emphasize the nostalgic, vintage appeal of the 1920’s. The Underground Cocktail Club will focus on creating innovative cocktails and featuring more live performances. JIMMY JAM & TERRY LEWIS – JAM & LEWIS VOLUME 1

Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis are no strangers to the top of the charts. However, this time they’ve returned as artists for the first time in their storied career!

This past weekend, the Grammy-Award winning legendary production duo recently turned artists took over Apple Music when their anxiously awaited debut album, Jam & Lewis Volume One [BMG], captured #1 on the Apple Music Overall Top Albums Chart. It is available here. The record is also on track for an impressive debut on multiple Billboard charts.

At the same time, the latest single “Somewhat Loved (There You Go Breakin’ My Heart),” [with the multi-platinum, multiple Grammy award winning, New York Times #1 Best Selling author and global superstar Mariah Carey] has risen to #16 at radio, according to Mediabase. Of the latter, Billboard wrote, “A subtle piano vibe before a heartbeat and finger-snap beat bubbles up. By the time the chorus kicks in, the song fattens up with a ticking, bass-heavy thump as Carey croons.” It followed on the heels of “He Don’t Know Nothin’ Bout It” [with Babyface], which held a spot in the Top 5 of the Billboard Top R&B Songs Chart for a staggering 16 weeks and has spent nearly a half year in the top 10.

Songs from the album have notably gathered 5 million-plus cumulative streams and counting thus far. Among its blockbuster guest list, Volume 1 also includes Mary J. Blige, Boyz II Men, Toni Braxton, Usher, and more.

Inciting unanimous critical applause, The New York Times attested, “Jam & Lewis Shaped Pop History. They’re Working on Its Future, Too,” and Variety claimed, “This first volume boldly takes the pair all the way back to their flashy, funky time with the Time in its use of Morris Day and Jerome Benton, as well as presenting Mariah Carey, Toni Braxton, Usher and Mary J. Blige in the most dramatic and elegantly soulful settings.” In a four-star review, The Guardian summed it up best as “worth the 40-year wait.”

In other chart news, Jam & Lewis currently hold four entries in the Top 20. As co-writers with H.E.R. on the Double Platinum “Damage.” from her recent #1 album Back Of My Mind, as well as the #8 song on the chart, “Cascade,” with former Mint Condition front man Stokley. Mariah Carey, Babyface, and Stokley’s songs are all affiliated with Jam & Lewis’ Flytetyme/ Perspective label, marking two songs in the Top 10 and three in the Top 20 of the Billboard Adult R&B chart.

Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis have had an unprecedented career as producers, with five GRAMMY Awards, over 100 Platinum certifications, and 16 Billboard Hot 100 Number Ones. In the joining of two then-bedroom producers turned hugely successful DJs and producers, multi-platinum hitmaker Alan Walker and Grammy winner Imanbek release their track “Sweet Dreams,” which includes an infectious sample of Scatman John´sScatman (Ski-Ba-Bop-Ba-Dop-Bop)”. The track is filled to the brim with high energy and intensity and is the perfect way to kick off the summer.

The music video premieres on Alan Walker’s YouTube channel simultaneously, broadcasted to over 39 million subscribers. Shot in Dubai, the “Sweet Dreams” music is heavily influenced by Roman gladiatorial matches, elaborate visual effects and iconic movies set and filmed in the desert.

Will Claye – Wee Hours

Today, hip-hop artist and Olympic medalist Will Claye releases his latest single, “Wee Hours,” out now via Red Bull Records. Written by Claye, “Wee Hours” was produced by Grammy-winning songwriter and producer DJ Khalil, best known for his work with Jay-Z, Kanye West, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and more.

Drawing from his own experiences, the strength of “Wee Hours” lies in Claye’s introspective and poignant lyrics, which he delivers with a West Coast-influenced flair. As the opening melodies and subtle instrumentations float in and out of focus, the single’s smooth production is effortlessly juxtaposed against Claye’s heavy-hitting flow.

“This track is inspired by my city, my people, and the kids who are growing up where I come from,” says Claye of the release. “I wanted to speak for people whose voices have been suppressed. I want to inspire my people and show them that even through all the horrific things we have gone through as a people, we can make it through and rise above it all.”

The release of “Wee Hours” follows the announcement of Elevate, the forthcoming documentary from Red Bull, set for release on Tuesday, June 8. The short film follows Claye as he trains for the Olympics and records new music, working to make his mark on the world. As his moment in the spotlight parallels a cultural boiling point surrounding racial injustice, Claye seeks to use his voice to inspire his community’s youth, serving as a positive role model for the next generation. Watch the trailer here.

About Will Claye
Three-time Olympic medalist Will Claye started his path as a world-class athlete. By way of track and field, he was able to move into starting his brand ELEVATE, music, and philanthropy. Will’s brand grew largely at the London Games in 2012, where he earned a bronze medal in the long jump and a silver medal in the triple jump to become the first man since 1936 and the first American since 1904 to obtain medals in both events. The Phoenix, AZ native of Sierra Leone-descent solidified himself as the #3 triple jumper of all time in 2019 and at the same time released an EP, WEST SIDE STORY, and single “TMS.”

DJ Khalil is a thirteen-time Grammy nominee and three-time Grammy award-winning songwriter and producer from Los Angeles, CA. His career started as one-half of the acclaimed underground hip-hop duo Self Scientific alongside rapper Chace Infinite.
