Rising Hyperpop Artist midwxst New Song – Made It Back

Midwxst, born Edgar Sarratt III, shares the new song and video “Made It Back” via Geffen Records. Directed by Elan Bia / No Soap, the visual is a cinematic sci-fi thriller that merges animations with surrealism for the perfect counterpart to midwxst’s glitched out, genre-crossing sound. The song follows the previously-released single “Ruthless” and his Summer03 EP released earlier this year.

Midwxst is the next generation’s ideal superstar. He’s a cutting-edge artist from the oft-overlooked state of Indiana, a genre-defier combining hyperpop and digicore with hip-hop alongside candid lyrics that reveal he isn’t afraid to let his true feelings show. Midwxst shares, “A lot of people expected me to be a trapper, rapping about guns and all the generic mainstream stuff. When I talk about how your own mental health and emotions can be the most dangerous thing you possess, especially as a teenager or young adult, people get such a different vibe from me and that’s what I strive for.” Midwxst will be performing at Overcast N Friends on October 9th and Day N Vegas Festival November 12th — 14th.

Listen to and watch “Made It Back” above and stay tuned for more from midwxst coming soon.

Tour Dates:

10/9 — Philadelphia, PA @ Overcast N Friends

11/12-14 — Las Vegas, NV @ Day N Vegas

Lindsey Stirling’s Official Music Video – Masquerade

Ahead of this weekend’s official launch of her cross-country headlining Artemis U.S. Tour, platinum-selling electronic artist, violinist, and multi-talented entertainer Lindsey Stirling, known all over the world for her unique, futuristic violin-driven electronic music and exquisite live show, has gifted fans with a new music video for the song “Masquerade,” off her latest chart-topping studio album Artemis. Inspired by early 20th century silent films, the new visual for the instrumental track was filmed at The Orpheum Theatre in downtown Los Angeles and co-directed by Stirling and Stephen Mallett (Pentatonix, Logic, CHVRCHES). Press here to watch.

“While I was writing the song ‘Masquerade,’ I knew immediately that it would be about a wealthy over-the-top aristocratic woman,” shares Stirling. “The song has such a comedic feel to it, which made the music video really, really fun to plan and make.”

The Artemis U.S. Tour marks the first time Stirling will be performing the tracks off Artemis as well as her current single “Lose You Now” in front of an American audience. The 35-date outing, featuring special guest electro-pop artist Kiesza, kicks off this Saturday, July 3rd in Kansas City, MO and will stop in most major markets across the country including New York City (August 2nd at the Beacon Theatre), Los Angeles (August 30th at the Microsoft Theater), Denver (July 7th at Red Rocks Amphitheatre), Dallas, Houston, Nashville, Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Boston, Phoenix, Portland, Seattle, and many others, before wrapping September 10th in Milwaukee at Summerfest. “Lose You Now,” Stirling’s emotive pop hit about loss and grief with artist, producer, and songwriter Mako, stems from the instrumental-only track “Guardian” off her Artemis album. Artemis, Stirling’s fifth studio album released September 2019 via BMG, debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Albums Chart and remained on the chart for 15 combined weeks. The 13-track album, which has racked up over 200 million total global streams, features the singles “Underground,” “Artemis,” “Sleepwalking,” “Between Twilight” and “The Upside” featuring Elle King along with “Love Goes On and On” featuring Amy LeeArtemis has also been turned into a successful comic book series, with the sixth edition coming this summer. Press here to listen to Artemis and press here for info on the comic books.

Epic Destinations for Adrenaline Junkies to Add to Your Travel List

An adrenaline-filled adventure can be anything from jumping out of a plane to looking off the side of a tall building. Sometimes getting out of your comfort zone can make for a memorable experience, so why not try something new? Whether you like to keep your thrill-seeking desire under wraps or prefer to go full force, there’s going to be something on this list for you to enjoy.

Our Top Destinations for Insatiable Thrill-Seekers

Sedona, Arizona: Off-Roading

There are so many incredible things to do for adrenaline junkies within the state of Arizona, but Sedona’s off-roading center is the place to enjoy desert driving. At Sedona Off-Road Center, you can rent a self-guided Razor, which can seat as many as 6 people. Rent one for a full day, stay on the trails or drift around the sandy hills. Helmets and safety gear are included.

Panama City Beach, Florida: Flight Simulators

At Panama Beach, you’re treated to sandy white beaches and emerald waters, but don’t stick around here for too long. At Cobra Adventure Park, you can experience the Max Flight Simulator or the “rollercoaster of the future.” There are multiple rides dedicated to adrenaline junkies, including the Slingshot, which reaches 100 miles per hour, and the Indy Speedway.

Waikiki Beach, Hawaii: Scuba Diving

Hawaii is one of the best places in the world to scuba dive, and tourists have plenty of options for how they want to experience the ocean depths. You can learn how to scuba dive with qualified instructors across Waikiki Beach. While you do start in shallow waters, you can quickly move up to open water dives, where you’ll see tropical fish, sea turtles, and coral reefs.

Santa Fe, New Mexico: Whitewater Rafting

The whitewater rafting in Santa Fe is top-notch, as it has something for everyone. If you’re looking for a leisurely float, you can go through the azure canyon of the Rio Chama. On the other hand, experienced swimmers can take on the Class IV rapids of the world-famous Taos Box. You can also try kayaking, paddleboarding, and fly fishing while you’re in the area.

Bend, Oregon: Snowboarding

If you haven’t skied in Bend, you need to start now. Thrill-seekers and terrain-tacklers will love riding the 4,300-acre lift-accessible grounds that promise to offer visitors the best snowboarding experience of their lives. There are plenty of other Winter activities for you to enjoy, like hiking, ice skating, sledding, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing, so zip up your coat and stay warm!

Las Vegas, Nevada: ZERO-G

You can’t talk about exciting vacation destinations without adding Las Vegas to the list, and we’re not talking about the rush you get from gambling. The ZERO-G Experience, which mimics astronaut training, allows you to feel what it’s like to live in a world without gravity. It’ll probably make your stomach churn, but strap in because you’re paying for 5 hours of weightlessness.

Twin Falls, Idaho: BASE Jumping

BASE jumping from a cliff is one of the most extreme thrills you can pursue, mainly because you have a short window to deploy your parachute. Travel to Twin Falls to stand 500 feet above Perrine Bridge, which doesn’t seem so bad until you actually jump. You don’t need a permit to try BASE jumping, but it’s recommended you receive some instruction before attempting it.

Anchorage, Alaska: Heli-Skiing

After BASE jumping, heli-skiing doesn’t seem so extreme, but it’s still incredibly scary. Skiers who try heli-skiing are flown up towards the base of an inaccessible mountain top and descend towards the base via skis. The Chugach Mountains in Alaska offer miles of terrain and steep descents that guarantee you won’t see the same line twice in the same trip.

SWEET SIN via Michael Greer for The Vox Agency for use by 360 Magazine

SWEET SIN by Claude Escamilla Opens at the Linq Promenade

Award-winning, internationally acclaimed pastry chef Claude Escamilla has opened an entirely reimagined pastry shop, SWEET SIN by Claude Escamilla, at The LINQ Promenade. With an enormous, handcrafted chocolate fountain as its centerpiece, the location represents the first eponymous European-style pastry shop for Escamilla, who previously served as executive pastry chef on the Las Vegas Strip for 17 years. SWEET SIN by Claude Escamilla is situated between the entrance to The LINQ Hotel + Experience and Chayo Mexican Kitchen + Tequila Bar on the Promenade.

SWEET SIN by Claude Escamilla boasts new décor, featuring a sleek, white pastry display case handcrafted in Italy and a brilliantly polished, towering chocolate fountain custom-made by elite artisans in France. The chocolate fountain is composed of three, 7-inch-diameter, curvilinear pipes that cross the ceiling, culminating in three taps behind the pastry case. Each tap dispenses a different, irresistible variety of confectionaries—dark chocolate, white chocolate or caramel—which is poured before customers’ eyes onto menu items such as crepes, chocolate-dipped strawberries and hot chocolate.

From the ceiling, more than 50 whisk-shaped pendant lights hang suspended above guests as they browse the shop’s offerings. Adorning the walls are cheerful polka dots in bright hues of raspberry, tangerine, lemon, lime, turquoise and plum, as well as playful phrases spelled out in neon script. Meanwhile, an elaborate, rotating case displays an artistic assortment of 400 handmade macarons in every color of the rainbow, as well as sweet souvenirs and other SWEET SIN by Claude Escamilla merchandise.

In addition to macarons and crepes, the shop offers 13 flavors of gelato, omelets, breakfast sandwiches, sweet and savory pastries, a tempting array of homemade European desserts and traditional coffee beverages as well as cold brew coffee on draft.

SWEET SIN by Claude Escamilla elevates the typical pastry shop concept to a new level with the addition of the crowd-pleasing chocolate fountain, and we are excited for our guests to stop by and enjoy the shop’s unique offerings,” said Tonia Chafetz, General Manager of The LINQ Promenade.

“This pastry shop represents my dream come true,” adds Escamilla. “It incorporates years of imagination and planning, and I am grateful to see my vision come true and share it with everyone who visits The LINQ Promenade.”

Escamilla grew up in the south of France, where he began his pastry arts career while studying at La Chambre des Metiers in Perpignan. He graduated with a professional aptitude certificate in 1995 and a master’s degree in pastry in 1998. During school, he regularly interned with renowned French chefs and spent weekends creating pastries in his father’s bakery. While still in France, he gained further experience developing pastries and menus for a large-scale catering company and decorating for a pastry shop helmed by one of France’s most celebrated pastry chefs.

In 1999, Escamilla arrived in Las Vegas, where he worked as assistant pastry chef at Bellagio, before being promoted to assistant executive pastry chef for the resort and overseeing all pastry shop production and 65 employees. In 2009, he became executive pastry chef for Bellagio Patisserie and Aria Patisserie, where he managed 115 employees spanning the kitchen and front-of-house locations.

In addition to holding executive roles at top-tier patisseries, Escamilla’s career includes several national and international championship titles. He is a two-time World Pastry Champion and two-time U.S. Pastry Champion, and he was named one of the Top Ten Pastry Chefs in America by Pastry Arts Design magazine and Pastry Chef of the Year by the Nevada Restaurant Association.

1923 Prohibition Bar Celebrates National Bourbon Day

1923 Prohibition Bar at Mandalay Bay, open seven days a week, announces National Bourbon Day specials on Monday, June 14 with 15% off their house bourbon flight available at the bar top with tasting notes. The bourbon flight is regularly priced at $32 and includes a sampling of today’s most popular bourbons including Buffalo Trace, Bulleit, Angel’s Envy and Angel’s Envy Rye.

The new, Prohibition-themed 1923 Prohibition Bar, is a private, hidden, modern speakeasy, serving bourbon spirits and signature barrel-aged specialty cocktails. The elegant venue also hosts live burlesque shows, live rock band karaoke and bourbon education and tasting classes.

Prohibition

For those of you who don’t know what prohibition and speakeasies are, Prohibition started in 1920 with the Volstead Act and was essentially a piece of legislation that outlawed drinking within the US, and was created as a result of the Christian Temperance movement that started with what we consider to be the first wave of feminism in the 1820s-1930s, as women wanted to, among other things, prevent spousal abuse that would occur as a result of drinking. Needless to say, the act was hard to enforce and people began distributing liquor illegally, known as “bootlegging,” and people would go to illegal bars, known as “speakeasies.” Gangs rose in popularity during this time, such as Al Capone, as a result of bootlegging. The act was officially repealed in 1933.

National Bourbon Day

National Bourbon Day is a day in which to celebrate America’s National Spirit, a drink created officially by Elijah Craig in the limestone shelf region, where most whisky is still made, in the 1700s. Charred barrels gave the whisky it’s iconic oaky flavor. It is still produced predominantly in America (hence the title of America’s National Spirit) and is enjoyed by many today.

First Public Health Insurance Option For Nevadans Passed

USofCare on Assembly Passage of Nevada Public Option to Make Health Care More Accessible and Affordable

United States of Care’s Liz Hagan, Director of Policy Solutions, issued the following statement today in response to the Nevada Assembly’s passage of SB 420, a bill to create a public health insurance option in Nevada:

“Today is a day of great progress and promise for Nevadans, as the Assembly has now joined the state Senate in passing a public insurance option (SB 420). This critical legislation will significantly reduce both the cost of health coverage and the number of Nevada residents forced to go without health insurance because they can’t afford it.

“The Silver State ranks 49th overall in state health system performance and it’s one of the least-insured states despite having expanded Medicaid. The pandemic has shone a light on many of the longstanding shortcomings in Nevada’s health care system and has made all too clear that people need dependable coverage that is with them through life’s changes, like losing a job or starting their own business.

“The number of people without insurance is especially high among Hispanic/Latino Nevadans, over 20% of whom are uninsured. The approved legislation goes a long way towards increasing access to coverage options that people can depend on and afford — all while helping to reduce disparities. We look forward to the governor signing this legislation into law, which will make the Silver State the second in the nation to enact a public option and will be a national model for expanding access to equitable, quality, affordable health care.”
