GRAMMY®-nominated and multi-platinum selling band Bastille unveils their new song, “Give Me The Future,” from their upcoming fourth studio album—listen here. The song is featured in the Jeep brand’s new campaign video, “Life Electrified,” out today—watch here.
“Give Me The Future” stands out as classic Bastille through and through. Cavernous production echoes, as synths juxtapose an airy beat. The vocals paint a sci-fi-inspired picture, recalling imagery from Blade Runner and beyond. It all builds towards a spacey and soaring hook, welcoming whatever looms on the horizon along for the ride. As always, Bastille represents the future. Earlier this week, the Jeep brand revealed a portion of the song in a shorter campaign video, which had Bastille fans going wild, guessing the song title and release date.
Of “Give Me The Future,” front man Dan Smith says, “‘Give Me The Future’ is a song about plugging into endless possibilities. Literally, feels like everything is out there for the taking, all tastes catered for. The spaceship sound at the start? It’s us crash landing in the future. The reality we live in at the moment was the science fiction of not that long ago. Take a film like Minority Report. The technology in that seemed so far off, a fantasy. But it’s here, we’re way beyond it already. Had someone told you that 20 years ago, when the film came out… you’d have laughed. Or been terrified.”
Last month, Bastille returned with their latest single, “Distorted Light Beam”—listen here. The song, a gleaming, metallic rush of retro-futuristic pop, was co-written and co-produced with Ryan Tedder alongside the band’s long-time collaborator Mark Crew. It marks the beginning of a new chapter for the band—one that revolutionizes their sound—and hints at a new sonic and visual world to come. “Distorted Light Beam” was released alongside a cinematic official video starring British actress Remmie Milner from the BAFTA-winning series, Save Me—watch here. Set in the future, the video sees a newly developed immersive technology, “Futurescape,” created by pioneering global tech entity, Future Inc., transform life as we know it. Not to mention, “Distorted Light Beam” currently sits in the Top 25 at Alternative Radio, as it continues to fly up the charts as the #3 greatest gainer this week.
As Bastille embarks onto this new chapter, the band is set to perform new music on Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series on August 23rd—be sure to tune in!
“You don’t predict the future, you imagine it.” – Future Inc.
The four-piece has been experimenting and augmenting the Bastille sound since the release of their last album Doom Days in 2019, the conclusion of an unofficial trilogy. Last year, they released the Goosebumps EP, featuring Graham Coxon on “WHAT YOU GONNA DO???” and producer Kenny Beats on the title track, as they continued to pen songs that seek to understand and offer escape from the modern human condition. Doom Days received huge critical acclaim and charted in the Top 5 in both the U.K. and U.S., the only U.K. band to have achieved this chart landmark alongside The Beatles and Queen in 2019. The record found the band at their most lyrically provocative, most accomplished, and most vital and charts the course of one night in search of distraction from the surrounding apocalypse (sound familiar?). During the course of 2019, the four-piece continued to cement their reputation as one of the world’s most captivating live bands, having played an extensive two month-long sold-out U.S. and U.K. tour. At the beginning of 2020, Bastille received their sixth Brit nomination and their second nomination for British Group. In January 2021, Bastille was the subject of ReOrchestrated, a documentary film that provided a revelatory and bracingly honest new look into the band’s journey so far, framed through their ReOrchestrated shows and diving into themes of motivation, anxiety, and imposter syndrome. This summer, Bastille will headline both Latitude Festival and Standon Calling Festival, with a further two sold-out shows at Hampton Court Palace Festival in August. With over 11 million records sold, 6 U.K. Top 40 singles, and 1.5 billion video views, Bastille continues to be one of the world’s most streamed bands.
In the current age of digital technology, car owners are being forced to consider their vehicle’s susceptibility to ransomware attacks. These malicious cyber-attacks can expose your personal data to online hackers. However, there are certain measures that car owners can take to help prevent security breaches. Proactive car owners are utilizing services like Concentric to safeguard their technology and online identity. 360 Magazine spoke with Laura Hoffner, Chief of Staff at Concentric, and Sam Connour, Concentric Intern, about how to best practice car system security.
What steps can proactive car owners take to protect their vehicles from security threats and hackers?
First, understand that all digital property can be hacked.
Second, as a result, be conscious of what personal technology you connect to or tether with. Understand that if you connect your phone to your car via Bluetooth, someone hacking into your car will then result in vulnerability to your phone (and everything else connected to your phone such as your home Wi-Fi, addresses, credit cards.)
Third, ensure your vehicle’s software is up today. Car makers, like Tesla and Jeep, are known to push out patches for these potential holes hackers can access. Keeping your vehicle up to date will aid in that effort.
Finally, protect that vulnerability by being aware of the modifications you’re making to your vehicle’s software. Don’t let unknown devices connect to your car, and be wary of who has physical access to your vehicle
What makes a car susceptible to ransomware attacks?
Cars are now equal [in terms of susceptibility] to computers as a result of their connectivity capabilities both to the internet and to Bluetooth. If a car is connected to an insecure and unprotected internet connection, hackers are capable of installing malware into a vehicle’s operating or infotainment systems.
What models of cars are the most likely to encounter hacking/privacy issues?
Cars with self-driving capabilities, or features such as lane assist or automatic braking, are particularly at risk. But practically any vehicle made in the past 20 years can be hacked. Generally, vehicles [from] 2007 or newer run a higher risk of personal information being compromised. Car makers, with a warning from the FBI, are taking steps to beef up cybersecurity within their vehicles.
Should customers be weary of certain car brands when buying technology systems for their vehicles? How can consumers find quality retailers with safe car products?
Rather than it being a concern about specific car brands, consumers should instead educate themselves on the risk associated with these vulnerabilities and take proper protocol to mitigate those risks.
Can Concentric offer any services for car owners looking to safeguard their vehicles?
Concentric offers holistic security solutions for our clients. Included in that is a residential risk assessment that can identify specific concerns and vulnerabilities. This is where personal risk associated with property would be assessed, [as well as] physical and behavioral recommendations.
How did your experience as a Naval Intelligence Officer and in the Naval Reserves translate into your current role at Concentric?
Understanding the threat landscape both nationally and internationally– as well as the acknowledgement that we make both micro and macro decisions about risk daily– ultimately prepared me to understand the corporate security landscape. Holistically viewing a problem set and identifying creative solutions are [at] the core of Naval Intelligence, thus it wasn’t a large leap to bring that mindset over with me from the government side.
As Concentrics’ Chief of Staff, what is your best advice regarding car related security?
Car-related security advice is the same as all other security advice we have: educate yourself, your family, and your team to know what risk decisions you are making that have vast implications across your security vulnerability spectrum. Additionally, security is not something to think about when you’re in a crisis. Avoid or better prepare yourself for the crisis beforehand by taking steps to vastly reduce, or eliminate, your vulnerabilities to exploitation.
Nashville-based alt-rock band Moon Taxi have added Nashville’s premier vinyl disco DJs Sparkle City Disco and small-town organic farmers turned major label rock stars Illiterate Light along with a host of other friends including Futurebirds, Olympic Music, and AFTM to their national headline Silver Dream tour this summer/fall.
The tour will find Moon Taxi and friends playing the Iroquois Amphitheater in Louisville, KY on August 7 and continuing through into the fall hitting venues such as New York City’s famed Webster Hall, The Ogden in Denver, Delmar Hall in St. Louis, and two nights at the brand new 2,200-capacity concert hall The Eastern in Atlanta, Georgia where the run will conclude over the Thanksgiving holiday. For more info visit Moon Taxi’s website.
Moon Taxi has thrived on the touring circuit for years, bringing their electric performances to Coachella, Austin City Limits, Bonnaroo, and beyond. The band also celebrated a career-defining moment as “Nashville’s own” in October ’17 when they performed at a two night, sold-out run at the famed Ryman Auditorium earning praise from the Tennessean (“Moon Taxi evolves from ‘college project’ to rock stars”). Their music has been embraced as well by brands using their songs for many commercial and TV placements – from JEEP, to Microsoft Surface Pro, McDonald’s, to BMW, along with landmark sporting events including the Olympics, MLB, NFL, and NHL and HBO Sports. Their songs are motivational and energizing, and they have become a “go-to” band for songs that inspire forging ahead.
The marriage of a sports car’s athleticism and an SUV’s versatility is evident in the groundbreaking new creation from Lamborghini: The 2021 Lamborghini Urus. This super-SUV is the first of its kind on the market, offering an exhilarating driving experience to those behind the wheel. With the ability to host five passengers, this vehicle packs in pleasure and practicality wherever you go. The manufacturer elaborates on the invigorating experience of driving their super-SUV:
“It is the absolute all-round super sports car and more. It allows you to explore new paths and new ways to express yourself—to accept challenges confidently and to live life to the fullest. You are not afraid to go far: this is what you aspire to. Unlock any road, unlock your personality.”
The Urus rivals similar super SUV models like 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, but beats out the Trackhawk in terms of speed. Its twin turbo engine delivers 217kW per tonne, as compared to the Trackhawk, which only delivers 212kW per tonne. Further, the silhouette of the Urus resembles the electric Jaguar I-Pace, presenting a similarly aerodynamic exterior.
Other comparable models include the Audi Q8. While both vehicles have a top speed of 189.5mph (305 km/h), the Urus is able to hit top speed in 3.6 seconds, which is two tenths of a second quicker than the Audi Q8. Just like the distinguished sophistication of opera music, hearing the roar of the Lamborghini motor is music to driver’s ears.
The interior of the luxe vehicle is inspired by aero-space design and driver oriented instrumentation. With a gear shift resembling a jet’s throttle and a start button hidden under a red flip cover, drivers are met with power and control immediately upon entering the driver’s seat. There are several interior cubby storage compartments, such as door pockets and a bin behind the floating center stack. With up to 22 ft3 of space in the car’s cabin and the ability to fit 5 passengers, the Urus is spacious–especially when compared to other super cars.
Offering a choice of finishes–from leather to Alcantra, to wood and aluminum, or carbon-fiber–the Urus is sure to look good from the inside out. The manufacturer now offers more customization than ever before. Clientele can choose from a selection of vibrant, eye-catching colors, including Giallo Inti (yellow), Arancio Borealis (orange), or Verde Mantis (green) with the available Pearl Capsule package. Alternatively, the standard palette offers more subtly attractive options, including black, grey, blue, and white colorways. Any of these fashionable exteriors create a beautiful contrast with the black and carbon fiber-trim. This model doesn’t fail to uphold the signature Lamborghini design with its Y-shaped details, front hood with a center peak, and crossed lines on the rear hood. With frameless doors and hexagonal detailing, this Lamborghini epitomizes modern glamour.
Not one, not two, but three TFT LCD display screens are installed inside the Urus, transforming the interior to feel like a cockpit. The screens provide crisp graphics and are easy to view, without the need for any clunky buttons. You can use your finger on the touch screen to write in your destination, or other search requests.
The Lamborghini infotainment system is installed with a Bang and Olufsen radio sound system, smart phone interface with Apple CarPlay and Android Audio, a DVD-audio/video reader, 3D maps navigation system, USB capabilities, Bluetooth connection, and voice control recognition. Additionally, the vehicle has a fully digital gauge cluster.
If you’re looking for further refinement, the factory offers an array of optional lavish features for purchase. These features include front seats with ventilation, seats with massage functions, an upgraded sound system, the rear-seat entertainment system, and available Off-Road drive modes. A stand out is the optional hands-free tailgate feature for when you’ve got your hands full, just lift your foot to trigger the sensor beneath the rear bumper to activate the trunk and make loading or unloading your vehicle effortless.
Drivers feel secure as they transport their precious cargo in this super-SUV. With aluminum tires–21’ x 9.5’ in the front of the vehicle, and 21’ x 10.5’ in the rear–the Urus has some major brawn. At the same time, the multi-link front and rear suspension, with air springs, allows for smooth riding. The Urus is athletic without compromising safety, as evident in its quick steering and high-speed cornering modes.
The car comes standard with several key safety features such as adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go technology, standard blind spot monitoring, a night vision camera, available self-parking and driver assist, and an audio theft deterrent. Additionally, it is equipped with front, side, and overhead airbags to protect drivers and occupants in case of emergency.
Explore new paths in your Urus as you take on any terrain together. Its Pirelli P Zero front and rear tires, offered in 21’ to 23’ size options, promise traction and performance. And if you want to take a pit stop along the way? The impressive braking system is equipped with carbon-ceramic brakes and front aluminum 10 piston brake calipers. These brakes, along with the premium shock absorbers, bring the car to a smooth halt from 70 mph to a full stop in 149 ft. Additionally, the car has front and rear anti-roll bars for extra braking power.
While the manufacturer doesn’t offer a lengthy warranty– providing three years with no mileage cap, without any complimentary scheduled maintenance–this car is built to last. However, if you’re looking for that extra protection, there are several extended warranty and maintenance plans available for purchase.
The Urus is powered by a powerful 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine with an output of 641hp, producing a maximum torque of 850 Nm (626,93 lb.-ft.) @ 2,2520-4,400 rpm. Feeling the need for speed? Accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, and reach a top speed of 190 mph, or 305 km/h in this sporty SUV. The 8-speed transmission is automatic with driver selectable mode, sequential shift control with steering wheel controls, and an oil cooler. Additionally, the engine has its own auto stop-start feature. The vehicle has eight cylinders, and a total displacement of 3,996 cm³.
When it comes to fuel efficiency, this Lamborghini gets 12mph in the city, or 17mph on the highway. The fuel tank has a capacity of 22.5 G. Equipped with AWD, you can drive anywhere with confidence and power.
The Urus’ MSRP totals $218,009, with a destination charge of $3,995. Compared to the rest of Lamborghini’s luxurious portfolio, this particular model is the most affordable and versatile option. Here at 360 Magazine, we took a spin in the manufacturer’s testing vehicle, which cost $282,649 with all the car’s capabilities fully loaded.
If you’re searching to cruise in style without compromising functionality, look no further than the 2021 Lamborghini Urus. Stars like Justin Bieber–who drives a custom barbie pink one, and Kanye West, who has his own custom, cream colored model–know that this super-SUV is the choice for drivers looking to stand out. Another member of the Kardashian crew, Kylie Jenner, also owns this super-SUV, which she posted about on her Instagram. Similarly, Ben Simmons of the Philadelphia 76ers flaunts his fancy super-SUV, decked out with a gloss black trim. Cardi B also just bought her husband–Offset from the rap group Migos,–one, the perfect present to transport the posh celeb duo in style. No matter where you go, every ride in the Urus promises VIP treatment to all of its passengers.
Reimagined after 70 years of innovation and improvement, the newest model of Land Rover’s Defender 110 honors the company’s history of creating safe and reliable vehicles, with a new-found attention to detail and design for the 21st century.
At CES 2021, Chief Design Officer of Land Rover, Gerry McGovern, spoke about the Defender 110 and said,
“The new Defender is respectful of its past but is not harnessed by it …. This is a new Defender for a New Age. Its unique personality is accentuated by its distinctive silhouette and optimum proportions, which make it both highly desirable and seriously capable – a visually compelling 4×4 that wears its design and engineering integrity with uncompromisedcommitment.”
Whether you’re off-roading, looking to pick up some necessary lockdown supplies, or traveling to see friends and family, the Defender promises to get you to your destination safely. Here at 360 Magazine, we recently took the luxurious yet rambunctious 2021 Land Rover Defender for a test drive, and were impressed by the car’s capabilities and curb appeal. We took the vehicle out for a spin to retrieve must needed supplies from various retailers including Home Depot, PetSmart, and Michael’s Art Supplies, shoot emerging recording artist LaJUNE, and pop in on my son and mother after they recovered from COVID-19 for some much needed fun. During all of these getaways, the Defender’s breaks dug deep into the asphalt at stop signs and hugged tight corners. All of the passengers felt safe and secure in the vehicle which operated with control and ease throughout all of our adventures.
Other recently released vehicles– such as the Mercedes Benz G Class, Toyota 4Runner, and Jeep Grand Cherokee– all pale in comparison to the Defender’s sleek design and driving capability, crafted with commitment to your safety and pleasure.
The Defender’s doesn’t put style over substance as its incredible capabilities match its dazzling curb appeal. Immediately upon viewing the available Indus Silver, Gondwana Stone, or Pangea Green paint jobs shine with a glimmer of affluence and sophistication and compliment the vehicle’s constructivist, modular interior. A magnesium cross bar beam has been installed both for its reductive design and durability that it grants to the vehicle’s body. Beautiful alpine lights in the rear of the vehicle allow for an open-air design from floor to roof. The large panoramic sunroof in the car cabin makes the vehicle feel even more spacious by letting in even more light.
Additionally, the second row of origami seats can fold down to allow even more room inside the car cabin. With these seats folded down, the Defender 110 offers a total storage capacity of 78.8 cubic feet, or 36.2 cubic feet with the second row of seats positioned upright. In the trunk, a clip-in, textured floor design designed for rugged use covers the floor and the backs of all of the seats. This load space lets users transport the treasures and grit of your outdoor adventures, and can be hosed off or machined washed once arrived at your destination.
As you’re cruising down the road, the car’s all terrain, blackout tires will transport you on a smooth ride to any destination you can dream of, and in case of emergency, a full-size spare tire is mounted on the rear of the vehicle. The wheels come in several available sizes (in): 18 x 8.0, 18 x 8.0, 20 x 8.5, 22 x 9.0. Further, a 10-inch high-resolution touchscreen allows drivers precise control over the vehicle with a digital speedometer display. Everything a driver needs to adjust is easily accessible. Other capabilities include driver assist, advanced off road, and standard off road standard packs. This model also offers Bluetooth, Android audio, and Apple CarPlay, so you can stay connected with those you hold close, no matter how far away they are.

The Defender’s Response 2 technology grants intelligent off-road technology to drivers, optimizing traction in various outdoors environments.
Beneath the hood, the Defender is equipped with both dual turbocharged and supercharged Inline 6 engines, and a 48-volt hybrid system. The Defender offers a permanent magnet electric motor. With such a powerful system, the Defender can put out 396 peak horsepower at 5,500rpm, and 406 pound-feet of torque at 2,000-5,000rpm. The vehicle also boasts an 8-speed automatic transmission and dual-range gearbox. The fuel economy of the Defender is also impressive, with 1t MPG in the city, or 20 MGP on the highway. This system includes a 3G bits/s video backbone and 14 ultrasonic sensors, which makes backing up into the smallest of spots effortless. Even if your trunk is full, the Defender is equipped with a digital rear-view mirror for increased visibility.

Forbes Wheels just published a summary of data indicating the links between the car Americans drive and who they’re likely to vote for. Below are the highlights — does your car match your political affiliation?
A month ahead of the U.S. presidential election, pollsters might gain more insight into American consumers’ voting preferences by the vehicle they drive. Based on exclusive data from Strategic Vision, in an analysis of 250 car models and 11 political affiliations:
Republicans make up 55% of the SUV market and 53% of the heavy duty pickup market.
Democrats make up 38% and 36% of the small and mid-size APT (hybrids, EVs) market, respectively.
Among heavy duty pickups, Republicans outnumber Dems 8-1.
Democrats drive smaller, more fuel efficient cars (think Honda, Subaru, or Prius).
Brands also convey political leanings. Audi, BMW and Volvo over-index on Democrats, while Cadillac, Land Rover, Lexus and Lincoln are heavily Republican. Chrysler, Genesis, Jeep and Kia are more balanced between political preference.

Automobiles Partner to Develop New Light Tactical Concept Vehicle – Jeep Gladiator XMT
Leading manufacturer of light tactical vehicles, AM General, together with the Jeep Brand of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), today introduced a new light tactical concept vehicle at the Annual Meeting and Exposition of the Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA). The Jeep Gladiator Extreme Military-Grade Truck (XMT) by AM General is the first phase of a collaboration that reunites two companies whose histories trace back to World War II. In creating the Jeep Gladiator XMT, AM General leveraged the Gladiator’s class-leading capabilities and customized the truck to meet global customers’ needs for a light-weight military truck.
“We are extremely excited to partner with FCA and introduce the Jeep Gladiator Extreme Military-Grade Truck at AUSA,” said AM General President and CEO, Andy Hove. “This new venture gives us an opportunity to showcase our expertise in light tactical vehicles and help FCA maximize the Gladiator’s global reach and potentially enter new military markets.”
AM General identified the all-new 2020 Jeep Gladiator – the most capable midsize truck ever, with 7,650 pounds of towing capacity and up to 1,600 pounds of payload capacity – as the ideal platform on which to develop the Extreme Military-Grade concept vehicle. “The Jeep brand has an important military heritage, so we couldn’t be happier that AM General expressed interest in creating the Gladiator XMT,” said Jim Morrison, Head of Jeep Brand – North America. “The all-new Jeep Gladiator boasts unmatched functionality, versatility and especially capability – including two advanced 4×4 systems, locking differentials, skid plates, tow hooks, and incredible approach, breakover and departure angles – the perfect foundation for this ultra-capable military concept vehicle.”
“We’re proud to partner with AM General, we look forward to gauging interest and gathering feedback on the Jeep Gladiator XMT, and we’re excited about potential future opportunities,” Morrison added. Based on its over 100 years of experience in the defense industry and deep knowledge of the global military landscape, AM General identified a series of parts and accessories that amplify the Jeep Gladiator’s leading off-road maneuverability and enhance the Gladiator’s capability to provide its end users with the appropriate equipment for tactical communications and service. The Jeep Gladiator XMT has been upfitted by AM General with both custom-built and commercially available military-grade parts to create an even more rugged truck that can traverse the toughest of terrains in adverse conditions and is ready to meet varied military customer requirements.
As with the iconic, proven and versatile Humvee, AM General can also apply its manufacturing and engineering expertise to convert the Gladiator XMT into mission-specific and purposeful light-weight tactical trucks based on customer requirements. Whether the need is to have a rugged personnel transport carrier or a command and control truck, the company has demonstrated through the Enhanced Tactical Kit (ETK) offerings on Humvee, its ability to deliver solutions that are customer-driven, and cost-effective. Pending feedback and interest in the military marketplace, production could begin in the second half of 2020. In addition to the gas model, Gladiator XMT would be offered to military customers as a diesel version.
All-new 2020 Jeep Gladiator The all-new 2020 Jeep Gladiator, the most off-road capable midsize truck ever, builds on a rich heritage of tough, dependable Jeep trucks with an unmatched combination of rugged utility, authentic Jeep design, open-air freedom, clever functionality and versatility and best-in-class towing and 4×4 payload.
Available with three different powertrain combinations and equipped with a versatile cargo box, Gladiator is built to handle the demands of an active lifestyle while delivering an open-air driving experience in a design that is unmistakably Jeep. Combining traditional Jeep brand attributes with strong truck credentials, the Jeep Gladiator is a unique vehicle capable of taking passengers and cargo anywhere. A multitude of technology features, such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and safety features, such as Blind-spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path detection, adaptive cruise control and Forward Collision Warning-Plus, further Gladiator’s appeal.

The all-new 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine with eTorque technology is rated a best-in-class 270 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque and mated to a new eight-speed automatic transmission. The 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine’s torque output surpasses that of the V-6 engine offered in Wrangler. An all-new eTorque system improves fuel economy, launch performance and driver comfort during start/stop operations.
The eTorque system’s hybrid functions include auto stop/start, electric power assist, extended fuel shut-off, transmission shift management, intelligent battery charging and regenerative braking. Both the engine and fuel flow may be turned off during stops, coasting or when the engine is decelerating.
The all-new 2.0-liter I-4 engine features a twin-scroll, low-inertia turbocharger with an electronically actuated waste gate for exceptional responsiveness and performance, even while traversing over difficult terrain. The turbo is mounted directly to the cylinder head to improve durability. A dedicated cooling circuit lowers the temperature of the intake air, throttle body and turbocharger.
The 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 engine is part of the Global Medium Engine architecture family and features Double Over Head Camshafts (DOHC), dual independent camshaft timing and a cooled exhaust gas recirculation (C-EGR) system. This is the first time that the combined use of a twin-scroll turbocharger, C-EGR system, Central Direct Injection and the independent liquid cooling intake of air, throttle body and turbo have been employed together. This combination of technologies enables the high levels of performance and reduces fuel consumption.
Direct injection, coupled with turbocharging, enables more efficient combustion and increased performance. The 2.0-liter I-4 engine’s fuel pump supplies the engine’s 2,900-psi high-pressure common-rail injection system. These high pressures produce better fuel atomization and allow for more precise fuel delivery than port fuel-injected systems, which in turn improves both performance and efficiency.
A variable displacement two-stage oil pump provides high oil pressure under high speed and load, but switches to a low-pressure mode for improved fuel economy during typical driving conditions. The piston cooling jet operation is managed by the two-stage oil pump to enhance fuel economy under normal driving conditions while improving durability under demanding, high-load engine operation. A large capacity oil cooler extends the oil change interval and ensures engine durability.
The cast aluminum alloy cylinder head features a central injector and high tumble intake ports. This combination provides increased charge motion and balanced airflow for improved fuel efficiency and performance. Cast-aluminum pistons with a 10:1 compression ratio have four valve pockets to accommodate the dual Variable Valve Timing (VVT) system. Each cylinder bore is fitted with gallery-mounted piston oil squirters to limit piston temperatures, reduce spark knock and increase piston durability.
The 2.0-liter I-4 engine features a low-pressure, sand cast-aluminum block with cast-in iron liners. The bore diameter is 84 mm and the stroke is 90 mm. Total displacement is 1,995 cc.
A water-cooled, integrated exhaust manifold helps reduce turbo inlet temperatures while providing increased engine reliability.
An inverted tooth primary chain drives both the intake and exhaust camshafts and minimizes noise. Camshafts are robotically assembled using hollow shafts and have polished cam journals to reduce weight and improve durability for start-stop engine operation. The use of hollow shafts provides a 3.5 lbs. weight reduction when compared to an equivalent solid shaft.
Select-fit main and rod bearings enable reduced clearances to help lower system oil demand and oil pumping effort. In addition, floating piston pins utilize Diamond Like Coating (DLC) for reduced friction.
The ignition system includes a high-energy ignition coil for better fuel efficiency and precious-metal spark plugs with iridium and platinum provide lasting durability. Located in the center of the cam cover, the spark plugs are easily accessible when service is required. Sodium-filled exhaust valves and plasma-coated piston rings also help extend the engine’s life and bolster durability.
The Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) also known as the Geneva Auto Show wrapped up Sunday March 17th, and RACEMARK (GGBAILEY’s parent company) was there showcasing its lines of OEM-quality car mats and accessories. Automobili Pininfarina Battista
It’s the most powerful street-legal car ever designed and built in Italy, and it’s electric. Powered by its Rimac electric powertrain, the new hyper EV produces 1874bhp from four electric motors and will get you to 186mph from a standing start in under 12 seconds. No more than 150 will be made, and the price is expected to be around 2.3 million dollars. The Automobili Pininfarina’s Battista has a top speed that exceeds 217mph, making it one of the fastest cars on the planet. RACEMARK created the custom car mats specially for this incredible concept car.
Aston Martin Vanquish Vision
The Aston Martin Vanquish Vision concept car is Aston Martin’s first mid-engined production supercar. Powered by a newly developed turbocharged V-6 engine, this lightweight concept supercar built on a bonded aluminum structure was designed to give Ferrari and McLaren some fierce competition.
Tesla Model 3S Station Wagon
In sharp contrast to the supercars at the Geneva Motor Show, was a dark green station wagon. This one of a kind model, designed by Niels van Roij Design, was a Tesla Model S converted into a station wagon. Niels van Roij Design designed the wagon as a hatchback keeping a minimal side window profile and giving the resulting car a sleek look. Although it doesn’t have the cargo room of a traditional station wagon, it easily makes up for it with plenty of style.
McLaren 720S Spider
Unusually light and aerodynamic, the MSO 720S Spider features a unique paint job along key aerodynamic surfaces such as the front splitter, hood air intakes and side panels. It boasts a top speed is 212mph with the roof up and can go from 0-62 in just 2.9 seconds thanks to its twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8.
