CA DMV + CRYPTO

The American Blockchain PAC (CryptoPAC) congratulates Tezos and Oxhead Alpha on their recent partnership with the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and their continued commitment to improving the lives of people through technology.

Kevin Mehrabi, an advisor of the American Blockchain PAC (CryptoPAC) and founder of StableTech (Tezos Stable Technologies), played a role in this major milestone.

The California DMV, long-stuck in the past with paper-based technology, will now be able to take advantage of the benefits of blockchain technology thanks to this partnership. Digitizing car titles for California drivers will improve the efficiency and security of title transfers, while also streamlining the process.

Kevin Mehrabi, who serves on the advisory board of the American Blockchain PAC (CryptoPAC) and launched critical DeFi infrastructure for the growing Tezos DeFi ecosystem, said, “With this one act, the California DMV is defying the stereotype of bureaucratic inertia—the idea that government agencies are resistant to innovation. Blockchain technologies—and those based on Tezos blockchain, in particular—enable a transformative level of security and efficiency that traditional technologies fundamentally cannot, let alone at a tiny fraction of the operational cost. This will be a great demonstration of blockchain-based innovation for other US government agencies at state, local, and federal levels.”

Todd White, Founder of the American Blockchain PAC, said, “A significant blockchain use case private-public blockchain partnership has been achieved in the State of California.”

Adelle Nazarian, CEO Of the American Blockchain PAC (CryptoPAC) said, “This partnership between Tezos, Oxhead Alpha, and the California DMV is a victory for the blockchain industry and a step towards mass adoption. Tezos’ ability to bring cutting-edge solutions to traditional industries is impressive and I am proud to be associated with such an innovative and forward-thinking company through the American Blockchain PAC (CryptoPAC).”

British Celebrities Drive Iconic Jaguar Land Rover Vehicles in Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant via 360 Magazine

JLR × Queen’s Jubilee

Stars from the world of entertainment, sport and music got behind the wheel to celebrate 70 years of dedicated service

Jaguar Land Rover joined Her Majesty the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations, with 26 of its cars featuring in the stunning Platinum Jubilee Pageant on Sunday. British names Luke Evans, Jason Robinson OBE, David Gandy and Jess Hawkins were just a few of the red-carpet attendees who showed their support by getting behind the wheel of the British automaker’s most iconic vehicles.

To further commemorate the Queen Elizabeth II’s 70 years of dedicated service, Land Rover gifted the British Red Cross a new Defender 130 to support its operations in the UK. Land Rover engineers will work with representatives from the charity, of which the Queen is a patron, to adapt the Defender 130 before it goes into service. Land Rover has supported the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies since 1954.

“We are delighted to be receiving the Defender 130 and look forward to working with the team at Land Rover to modify this over the coming months. As the longest version of this vehicle ever produced, we will be able to utilise the increased capacity to incorporate new and unique features that will better support our emergency response and ambulance support work. The vehicle’s off-road capabilities will give us the freedom to access remote areas and reach people affected by emergencies and disasters across the UK.” Chris Davies, Head of Crisis Response.

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant was a celebration of the creativity and ingenuity of the people of the UK and Commonwealth during the 70 years of her reign. Two of Her Majesty’s beloved Land Rover Defenders took part in the Pageant, along with three Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles from James Bond films, and a collection of rare Jaguar convertibles including a bespoke 1965 Series 1 E-type Roadster. The one-off renovation features a comprehensive list of enhancements carried out by the expert technicians at Jaguar Classic Works, and metallic blue paintwork inspired by the Union flag.

Chris Thorp, Chief of Staff, Jaguar Land Rover, said: “It is a true honour for our vehicles to play a part in this momentous occasion to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee. As the UK’s longest reigning monarch, Head of the Commonwealth, patron of more than 600 charities as well as a mother, grandmother and great grandmother, the Queen is a remarkable role model and we are delighted to celebrate with her today.”

Other Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles of note that participated in the Pageant included the first Land Rover the world ever saw, unveiled at the 1948 Amsterdam Motor Show.

In a celebration of Jaguar’s move towards an all-electric future, the parade also featured an F-PACE Electric Hybrid in a bespoke livery designed with drumming sensation Nandi Bushell and an all-electric I-PACE from the E-Trophy racing series.

The vibrant and colourful procession covered a 3km route taking in The Mall and Buckingham Palace, echoing the route of the Coronation 70 years ago. It featured more than 10,000 volunteers and creatives celebrating each of the Queen’s seven decades on the throne through a carnival of art, music, theatre and dance. The Jaguars and Land Rovers featured throughout the parade with notable brand fans and cultural icons aboard.

Range Rover Sport

The New Range Rover Sport has made its global premiere with a dramatic world-first climb up a flooded dam spillway in Iceland.

The epic ascent saw New Range Rover Sport resist the surging torrent of water flowing down the ramp of the Karahnjukar Dam—the biggest of its kind in the world—at a rate of 750 tonnes per minute. A loss of traction risked plunging down the perilous 90m drop at the base of the spillway to the valley floor below.

The successful spillway ascent was screened for the first time at an exclusive launch event at Jaguar Land Rover’s Advanced Product Creation Centre at Gaydon, UK.

Official James Bond stunt driver Jessica Hawkins was behind the wheel as the New Range Rover Sport demonstrated its grip, traction, performance and composure, completing the latest in a series of challenges for Land Rover’s luxury performance SUV. Previous feats include a record-setting hill-climb at Pikes Peak, a first recorded crossing of the ‘Empty Quarter’ desert in the Arabian Peninsula and a first ascent of the 999 steps to Heaven’s Gate in China, in 2018.

Nick Collins, Executive Director Vehicle of Programs, Jaguar Land Rover, said: “Land Rover’s pioneering MLA-Flex architecture and the latest chassis systems come together to deliver the highest levels of dynamism we’ve ever seen on Range Rover Sport. Integrated Chassis Control governs the comprehensive suite of innovations, coordinating everything from the latest switchable-volume air suspension system to our Dynamic Response Pro electronic active roll control. The result is the most engaging and thrilling Range Rover Sport ever.”

The spillway climb was the final obstacle on a drive from the valley floor to the summit of the dam, taking in a flooded riverbed, long steep tunnels and the 40-degree rocky dam wall itself. The 294 m stretch of spillway had water furiously cascading down its 90-metre drop, to provide the ultimate test of traction and driver confidence.

New Range Rover Sport is based on Land Rover’s advanced, flexible Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA-Flex), which provides the perfect foundations for its superior dynamics and peerless refinement. Its line-up of powerful and efficient powertrains includes two six-cylinder extended range Electric Hybrid plug-ins, which provide a pure-electric driving range of up to 113km (70 miles) and CO2 emissions of as low as 18g/km1.

The new 530PS V8 Twin Turbo provides sports car performance, with 0-100km/h in as little as 4.5 seconds (0-60mph in 4.3 seconds) with Dynamic Launch engaged. Customers can also choose from powerful and efficient mild hybrid petrol and diesel Ingenium engines, while pure-electric propulsion will be available in 2024, as Land Rover continues its electrification journey.

New Range Rover Sport will be exclusively produced at the Solihull Manufacturing Facility in the UK, the historic home of Range Rover production, alongside New Range Rover.

2021 Land Rover Defender

Craftsmanship with Capability

By Emily Bunn x Vaughn Lowery

Reimagined after 70 years of innovation and improvement, the newest model of Land Rover’s Defender 110 honors the company’s history of creating safe and reliable vehicles, with a new-found attention to detail and design for the 21st century.

At CES 2021, Chief Design Officer of Land Rover, Gerry McGovern, spoke about the Defender 110 and said,

“The new Defender is respectful of its past but is not harnessed by it …. This is a new Defender for a New Age. Its unique personality is accentuated by its distinctive silhouette and optimum proportions, which make it both highly desirable and seriously capable – a visually compelling 4×4 that wears its design and engineering integrity with uncompromised commitment.”

Whether you’re off-roading, looking to pick up some necessary lockdown supplies, or traveling to see friends and family, the Defender promises to get you to your destination safely. Here at 360 Magazine, we recently took the luxurious yet rambunctious 2021 Land Rover Defender for a test drive, and were impressed by the car’s capabilities and curb appeal. We took the vehicle out for a spin to retrieve must needed supplies from various retailers including Home Depot, PetSmart, and Michael’s Art Supplies, shoot emerging recording artist LaJUNE, and pop in on my son and mother after they recovered from COVID-19 for some much needed fun. During all of these getaways, the Defender’s breaks dug deep into the asphalt at stop signs and hugged tight corners. All of the passengers felt safe and secure in the vehicle which operated with control and ease throughout all of our adventures.

Other recently released vehicles– such as the Mercedes Benz G Class, Toyota 4Runner, and Jeep Grand Cherokee– all pale in comparison to the Defender’s sleek design and driving capability, crafted with commitment to your safety and pleasure.

Design

The Defender’s doesn’t put style over substance as its incredible capabilities match its dazzling curb appeal. Immediately upon viewing the available Indus Silver, Gondwana Stone, or Pangea Green paint jobs shine with a glimmer of affluence and sophistication and compliment the vehicle’s constructivist, modular interior. A magnesium cross bar beam has been installed both for its reductive design and durability that it grants to the vehicle’s body. Beautiful alpine lights in the rear of the vehicle allow for an open-air design from floor to roof. The large panoramic sunroof in the car cabin makes the vehicle feel even more spacious by letting in even more light.

Additionally, the second row of origami seats can fold down to allow even more room inside the car cabin. With these seats folded down, the Defender 110 offers a total storage capacity of 78.8 cubic feet, or 36.2 cubic feet with the second row of seats positioned upright. Deep pockets on the back doors, baskets on the side doors, and a lockable 1.5-gallon glove box each allow for easy access to storage inside the vehicle.

Designed to maximize storage, users can lift up the floor to reveal a hidden storage bin equipped with a tool kit. In the trunk, a clip-in, textured floor design designed for rugged use covers the floor and the backs of all of the seats. This load space lets users transport the treasures and grit of your outdoor adventures, and can be hosed off or machined washed once arrived at your destination.

As you’re cruising down the road, the car’s all terrain, blackout tires will transport you on a smooth ride to any destination you can dream of, and in case of emergency, a full-size spare tire is mounted on the rear of the vehicle. The wheels come in several available sizes (in): 18 x 8.0, 18 x 8.0, 20 x 8.5, 22 x 9.0. Additionally, the rear of the vehicle possesses advanced tow assist and an ultra-strong tow hitch receiver with a maximum towing capacity of 8,201 lbs.

Technology

The new Land Rover Defender 110 offers the world’s first dual-modem, dual eSIM design, manufactured to enhance efficiency and function. Furnished with the Pivi Pro infotainment system in the vehicle’s dashboard, the system alerts drivers with Software-Over-The-Air (SOTA) updates, and lets users stream music and operate applications with CloudCar technology. CloudCar technology allows for drivers to safely and seamlessly incorporate their digital lives into their driving– drivers can dial into meetings, store calendar invites, and stream music services like Spotify, TuneIn, and Deezer with ease.

Further, a 10-inch high-resolution touchscreen allows drivers precise control over the vehicle with a digital speedometer display. Everything a driver needs to adjust is easily accessible. Other capabilities include driver assist, advanced off road, and standard off road standard packs. This model also offers Bluetooth, Android audio, and Apple CarPlay, so you can stay connected with those you hold close, no matter how far away they are.

And if you are embarking on an ambitious road trip to see your far-away family? The Defender 110 offers six standard speakers, or an optional Meridian sound system with subwoofers, so you can keep the beats bumping. Wherever you go, Smart Voice Guidance technology will optimize routing to get you to your destination most efficiently.

The Defender is equipped with AC power, so you can power accessories (such as a cooler) from remote locations. Wherever you go, the advanced technology and luxurious experience of driving of Land Rover Defender 110 stays with you.

Performance

Equipped with all-wheel drive, this off-road vehicle can handle all landscapes. The Defender’s auto-functionally Terrain Response 2 and ClearSight Ground View technologies can recognize different types of outdoors terrain and adjust the vehicle accordingly. Whether you are driving through the desert or tundra, the Defender promises the same deluxe driving experience. With a built-in hydraulics system, the Defender is able to be raised or lowered over whatever external grit you encounter, protecting the vehicle and its occupants against a single scratch. The Defender’s Response 2 technology grants intelligent off-road technology to drivers, optimizing traction in various outdoors environments.

Beneath the hood, the Defender is equipped with both dual turbocharged and supercharged Inline 6 engines, and a 48-volt hybrid system. The Defender offers a permanent magnet electric motor. With such a powerful system, the Defender can put out 396 peak horsepower at 5,500rpm, and 406 pound-feet of torque at 2,000-5,000rpm. The vehicle also boasts an 8-speed automatic transmission and dual-range gearbox. The fuel economy of the Defender is also impressive, with 1t MPG in the city, or 20 MGP on the highway. The 2021 Land Rover Defender is expedition ready wherever you wish to go, while assuring that safety and comfort come along for the ride.

Safety

Engineered without compromise, the Defender commits to the utmost safety of its users. Land Rover’s 2021 Defender comes with driver assist, which includes emergency braking, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, cruise control, speed limiter functions, driver condition monitors, and front and rear parking aids. The vehicle’s 3D Surround Camera system, developed with Bosch, is equipped with four wide-angle HD Cameras that provide a 190-degree field of view– a 50-degree wider field of vision when compared to traditional rear-view mirrors. This system includes a 3G bits/s video backbone and 14 ultrasonic sensors, which makes backing up into the smallest of spots effortless. Even if your trunk is full, the Defender is equipped with a digital rear-view mirror for increased visibility.

Best of all seat pretensions and front-impact, side-impact, and overhead airbags have been installed to protect passenger’s heads and torsos in case of a crash. To further ensure the safety of its occupants, the Defender protects its passengers with a security system designed to anticipate and detect unwanted vehicle intrusion.

Ergonomics x Additional Features

At a modest MSRP of $62,250, the Defender offers luxury and sophistication to anyone ready to get behind its wheel. Upon purchase, there are four optional accessories packs that allow users to specifically tailor their Defender experience: the Explorer Pack, Adventure Pack, Country Pack, or Urban Pack. The Land Rover Defender 110 drives users to experience new landscapes of life, during a time while everyone else is staying inside. Accoutered with a pop-up roof tent accessory, the Defender is ready to travel with you wherever you go, whether it be on an outdoors expedition or just a short trip to the grocery store.

The Land Rover Defender 110 model will be released for sale in the U.S. in early 2021.

TAKE A VIRTUAL ROAD TRIP

By Armon Hayes × Vaughn Lowery

A virtual road trip is a prompt, safe and innovative way to entertain yourself as well as a family when social distancing is the new way of life. With more time spent at home, surveying ways to decompress when working from home and cabin fever sets can be overwhelming. Prowling the web compels imagination and spirit, here are suggestions to consider during your virtual trip.

Do include online gaming that tests your luck, for starters online poker at Coyote Bob’s casino will stimulate your mind maintaining engagement. Interactive and strategic hence no time for tedium. Gaming is essential to any trip, despite your game of choice, or age online gaming is growing progressively. Approachable to the fingertips with exciting new ways to include friends or foreigners alike on the web.

Interactive games like Poker and Spades allow you to invite a partner, or take your chances with a virtual opponent. Whether arcade or trivial include socializing part of your routine permitting distance and normalcy from the harsh realities of a worldwide epidemic.

Choose this time to discover new places now when travel is risky and shunned upon. Discover new destinations to check off your bucket list while learning about the universe around you.

360 Magazine shares music playlists and extensive cooking options in detail of a virtual experience. Take a trip to visit the Music City aka Nashville with an online experience which will virtually connect you with such a beloved city. Simply head over to their CVB’s official site and conduct virtual tours of the Omni Hotel, City Winery and the Country Music Hall of Fame.

During your virtual trip, I recommend introducing yourself to emerging social apps. Finding fresh new fun ways to keep in touch sharing your experience virtually or try meditation with friends and love-ones. Emerging social apps keeping it simple and self explanatory like Houseparty and Google Hangouts are virtual room simulators where a happy hour won’t subject you to a deadly virus.

The latest on-camera/voice messenger app is Zoom. Originally made for business and conference calls, is now being heavily used during this period of shelter in place. As of late, two of our team members lost their grandparents. Regrettably the two of them weren’t able to attend the funerals due to the coronavirus lockdown. Thanks to this dedicated video conferencing app, both of them were able to virtually attend while still practicing physical distancing. Other useful ways to utilize this platform includes, but not restricted to, the following virtual experiences: wine tasting, college reunions, organizational gatherings and music listening parties (gives the viewers an opportunity to directly speak to the recording artist while listening to their new EP).

Thus, virtually invite a few friends to meditate, engage in a yoga session as well as share your quarantine experiences and best practices. Even if social media apps aren’t your ideal form of communication, you’ll value the innovative virtual experience. Get in touch with yourself while productively passing time.

JLR × Red Cross

Jaguar and Land Rover have deployed more than 160 vehicles globally to support emergency response organisations during the coronavirus crisis.

A total of 57 vehicles including 27 New Defenders have been issued to the British Red Cross to deliver medicine and food vulnerable people across the UK who now need additional support due to social distancing rules.

Jaguar and Land Rover teams in Spain, France, South Africa and Australia have loaned vehicles to their Red Cross societies and more markets are offering help to their local teams.

This service is being provided with fleets of vehicles now available due to the postponement of launch events.

Jaguar Land Rover is working closely with the UK government and has offered its research and engineering expertise, as well as digital engineering and design, printing of 3D models and prototypes, machine learning, artificial intelligence and data science support.

Protective equipment is being donated to the NHS including wraparound safety glasses to the Royal Bolton Hospital, St James’s Hospital in Leeds and Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Finbar McFall, Jaguar Land Rover Customer Experience Director, said: “The health and safety of our employees, customers and their families remains our priority.  Jaguar and Land Rover will do everything we can to support people in need around the world. Our partnership with the Red Cross goes back 65 years and we will work hand in hand with them to do all we can during this global health emergency. We will also provide help to those closer to home in our local communities. We can all play a part in helping the vulnerable during this global pandemic.”

Simon Lewis, Head of Crisis Response, British Red Cross said: “This unprecedented global health emergency requires us all to pull together. As part of the British Red Cross response to coronavirus, we’re delving deep into the heart of communities across the UK to help strengthen support for the most vulnerable people through delivering essential food parcels and medicines to those unable to get out.

We have been overwhelmed by the kindness shown across the country, not only by our increasing number of volunteers, but also our longstanding partners. Thanks to Land Rover’s generous support, our Emergency Response teams in the UK will be to reach even more people living in isolated communities than we could alone.”

Land Rover and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) have worked together for over 65 years, helping communities prepare and respond to emergencies with disaster-preparedness projects around the world – vital at times like this.

Through its partnership with the British Red Cross, Land Rover has also helped fund emergency relief efforts through the Disaster Relief Alliance, which supports community resilience programmes in the UK and around the world, providing financial assistance immediately when disaster hits – including coronavirus. British Red Cross has already given £200,000 to support Asian countries severely affected by the pandemic.
