CES, the Consumer Electrionics Show, convened digitally this year. This is the first time that CES has ever been conducted fully virtually due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. The event produced and owned by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) featured technology related to Digital Health, Smart Cities, Immersive Entertainment, Lifestyle, 5G and Internet of Things (IOT), Artificial Intelligence, Automotive, Startups, Tech Enabling the New Normal, and more. Some notable brands who participated in the conference portion of the event include Sony, GM, Intel, Audi, Panasonic, Samsung, and Mercedes-Benz. Despite the virtual interface, the overall reception of this year’s event was positive.
More than 500 companies participated in the exhibition event, though some garnered more social media buzz than others. According to analytics from Talkwalker, a social listening and analytics company, Samsung had 11 thousand social media mentions related to the event. This was aided by the ever present social media monster that is the BTS army who blew up this tweet before the event had even started. Some other products that generated a lot of buzz are Razer’s N95 facemask with gaming lighting and over this Keurig-but-it’s-ice-cream contraption.

Driving dynamics, heritage, sexiness, imposing, Chevy. What are you thinking of? ’63 Corvette with a split window? Mid engine C8 Corvette? Chevelle? Camaro? Wrong – everyone is talking about the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer.
GM pulled a bold move bringing back the Trailblazer name. An even bolder move is to make it a unibody construction compact SUV. 360 Magazine had the opportunity to spend some time with the little monster and definitely raised the game for competitors like the Honda HR-V, Toyota CH-R, and even the new Kia Seltos and Hyundai Venue/Kona. The main question is whether or not this new Trailblazer can park at the same lunch table as the original.
Looks of the older model weren’t extraordinary but this makeover had the team in awe. The new one gets dramatic lines and aggressive styling to start. The design is truly striking, taking after the beautiful new Camaro and big brother Blazer. If Americans want SUVs, then this is how manufacturers should be designing them. Take notes (Ford and Jeep). Glancing ahead, the upcoming Bronco and Grand Wagoneer have a precedent already set. Imagine the designers took a picture of a Blazer to photoshop, compressed it and added a flat and taller top. The front gets the same narrow headlight design. The only thing differentiating the front of the vehicle from the Blazer is the width, with this being slightly narrower.
Wrapping around to the side, the Trailblazer gets a much more traditional SUV shape over the Blazer. The top is square rather than sloped to mirror a coupe SUV. This beauty gets a floating roof design with the blacked out roof wrapping from the bottom of the front windshield all the way to the upper rear. The mirror caps are color matched with the roof. All trims get wheels to suit the rest of the car. RS trims get sporty wheels whereas the Active trim gets off road worthy smaller wheels with a thicker sidewall. The rear is just as striking as the front. The tail lights wrap around to the side of the vehicle, similar to Lexus design language. Exhaust tips are molded to a square shape. Overall, the Trailblazer is definitely one of the best, if not the best, looking entry in this segment.
Moving to the inside of the vehicle, the interior is expected to live up to the hype of the exterior. This is perhaps where the new model lacks. Chevy knocked it out of the park with the Blazer so why not carry over the interior design? On the contrary, the Trailblazer gets an interior that looks fairly normal in the segment with bland design. The large round air vents are gone along with the beautiful simplistic climate controls. Let’s not get it twisted, this doesn’t mean the interior doesn’t feel nice. Materials are excellent along with the technology. Soft touch materials are placed everywhere to give a more premium feel. The RS trim gets a very nice flat bottom steering wheel while all others get an equally nice round steering wheel. Premium appointments are prevalent throughout the cabin. Seats are wrapped in a beautiful black design with contrast stitching on RS trims. All other trims get premium looking two tone seats and dashboard. Most interior color choices are dark, but the massive panoramic sunroof lets in enough light to brighten the cabin and make the interior feel bigger than it is. Included in upper trims is a quality Bose sound system that is calibrated perfectly for the small cabin space. It’s something you would expect from a German luxury vehicle in a Chevy. Other great features include wireless charging and ample space for passengers and cargo.
It’s a new era for tech advancements. The name suits the vehicle when it comes to safety. Chevy threw an incredible suite of safety features into this SUV. Standard features are Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist w/ Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert, Follow Distance Indicator, IntelliBeam Headlamps, Rearview Camera, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. An advantage of buying a GM product also includes a few very useful convenience safety features like Teen Driver mode, Rear Seat Reminder and OnStar. The Rear Seat reminder is perhaps the best feature that is still not standard on other brands. Optional safety features include Adaptive Cruise Control, Rear Park Assist, Lane Change Alert w/ Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and an available higher resolution rearview camera.
To this point, the Trailblazer meets expectations of the name in every way other than size. Performance is where the car loses to its predecessor, the Trailblazer SS. The most powerful engine today gets a 1.3 liter turbocharged 4 cylinder. However, this engine produces plenty of power for the size of the vehicle. It cranks out 155 hp / 174 lb. ft. of torque and pushes it to either the front wheels or all wheels. This engine returns 29/33/31 mpg city/hwy/combined, respectively, when paired with either the CVT or available 9 speed automatic on the AWD models. Also available is a 1.2 liter turbocharged engine with 137 hp / 166 lb. ft. of torque. This engine can only be had with the corporate CVT and FWD. The 1.2L is good for 28/31/29 mpg.
Throwing it around The Bronx in New York City was truly a blast. The nimble handling makes this vehicle the best driving in the segment. Aiding the experience is the incredibly low curb weight. Test for yourself and you’ll want to trade in that sedan for a more practical small SUV. Adjust to the quick steering in sport mode to avoid large potholes and imperfections in the road while maintaining a very comfortable ride. Switch the drive mode to normal and experience the relaxing weight free steering. This is definitely a car to shortlist in an area with roads like The Bronx.
Compared to its competition, the youthful Trailblazer deserves to sit up top. Chevy set out to make the SUV version of a Camaro with the Blazer, and with that solid foundation, they manifested a small SUV that carries the DNA of a Camaro at a price of $19,995. Does it live up to the Trailblazer name? Yes, in a way it does. With modern emissions regulations, one can argue that the performance of the new model is better. The 2021 Trailblazer holds its own and competes pound for pound.
MANN+HUMMEL was named a GM Supplier of the Year by General Motors during a virtual ceremony honoring the recipients of the company’s 28th annual Supplier of the Year awards on Wednesday, June 24, 2020.
During the event, GM recognized 116 of its best suppliers from 15 countries that have consistently exceeded GM’s expectations, created outstanding value or introduced innovations to the company. The awards ceremony was originally scheduled as a live-event to be held in March but was postponed due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The recognition is for supplier performance in the 2019 calendar year.
This is the 25th time MANN+HUMMEL has received the award.
“Our suppliers play a key role in delivering the products, services and experiences our customers deserve – and these award-winning suppliers went above and beyond our expectations,” said Shilpan Amin, GM vice president, Global Purchasing and Supply Chain.

Hot Wheels hosted the first-ever Hot Wheels Legends Tour Virtual Stop, bringing together the most unique custom-builds from around the country to compete for a chance to be turned into an iconic Hot Wheels die-cast.
As of late, a team of judges including Hot Wheels designers, Hoonigan auto experts and top motorsports athlete Colette Davis crowned Chris Walker from North Branch, Minnesota with his 1959 Chevrolet El Camino the winner of the first-ever Hot Wheels Legends Tour Virtual Stop. Chris and his custom build will join finalists from Legends stops around the country at SEMA Auto Show where one winner will be selected to become the next Hot Wheels 1:64 scale die-cast.
Chris built this car in his garage in just 60 days, before debuting it at the Las Vegas RatCity Ruckus Show. Nicknamed the “Hulk-Camino,” the car is made from all ’59 El Camino sheet metal and is powered by a small-block Chevrolet engine. There is a 700R4 Monster Transmission in the vehicle, with independent front suspension and coil over shocks. With American racing wheels and Mickey Thompson tires – the ‘59 El Camino is a true life-sized Hot Wheels!

Iconic vehicle starred in more than 1,750 films and television series since 1952
Yesterday, the Chevrolet Suburban became the first vehicle ever awarded an Award of Excellence star at Hollywood & Highland. Presented by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and unveiled at a ceremony on Hollywood Boulevard, the award recognizes Suburban for its 67-year career in Hollywood film and television.
“For six decades the Chevrolet Suburban has been Hollywood’s longest-working actor,” said Rana Ghadban, president and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. “Appearing in classic feature films and on must-see television shows, the Suburban is a well-established industry mainstay. With the Chevrolet Tahoe also making an impact in movies and on television, it’s impressive to have both vehicles now join an illustrious group of actors and characters that are forever known as Hollywood legends.”
During its acting career the Suburban evolved to become the ultimate character actor, able to play the hero, the villain, or the family alike. “There’s really nothing else like the Chevrolet Suburban in this business, for two reasons,” said Dennis McCarthy, Hollywood picture car coordinator. “First, it’s one of the most versatile vehicles in the business, able to fit with any type of character. If you’re in the market for a new vehicle, maybe you should consider the 2019 Cadillac XT4 Crossover for one of your very own urban excursions. We decided to venture downtown LA to Chinatown in our test model. Just like this vehicle, there’s an unprecedented reaction to Howlin’ Rays (Tennessee style hot chicken) as it’s one of the first establishments of its kind within the metropolitan area.
Launched in 2018, it’s their smallest crossover and a hopeful competitor in its segment. It sustains its own against the Volvo XC40, Audi Q3, and Mercedes-Benz GLA.
Design: The aim of this model is v-shape inspired by crisp lines, sweeping arcs, and high-end appointments. Factory tinted windows allow for added privacy and UV protection against the harsh LA sun rays. But you also get a 360 view under the car, insignia displayed on the front, and a backup camera to view more of what’s behind you. Above you, is a dual panel retractable Sunroof/Moonroof, which allows more light to come in, making the vehicle feel roomier. Compared to its predecessor, the 2018 XT4, this new variation has more room for you and four other people.
Technology: Loaded with a vast amount of features which are comparable with many luxury manufacturers: Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Satellite radio, WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth capability, rotary dials, and 8″ infotainment touchscreen. The 8-way driver and 6-way passenger seat controls made perfect sense after we shoved our faces and felt our sides begin to split. After all, who needs pants when you have an XT4?! Thanks to their elegant Bose audio system, with 13 speakers and tweeters, we were able to bounce some of the calories off from those extremely spicy french fries from Howlin’ Rays that brought us to tears. My dear Lord!
Performance: Just as significant as the aesthetic and feel of the car is its agility. Its 2.0L 4-cylinder engines are peppy, to say the least, cranking 237hp with 258 pound-ft of torque. Clocking in at an EPA-estimated 29 mpg on highways, this model is a front wheel drive with an all-wheel-drive option. This is also an advantage over the previous year’s XT4 model which weighed 15lbs more. Moreover, on that point are also selectable driving modes with paddle shifters. This new model possesses 4-wheel independent suspension easily, offering a high-quality smooth ride which grips most terrains with ease. On an urban excursion to Chinatown in downtown Los Angeles, we accidentally climbed up onto the sidewalk rushing to pick up our mouthwatering Howlin Rays Nashville style chicken. We weren’t only stunned by the 2 hr wait in a block-long line, but the fact that we were perched off road. This vehicle may just be Pismo Beach worthy.
Safety: Now, of course, the honorable people at Cadillac care about your safety. Thus, this model comes well-equipped with airbags: front, knee, and seat side impact for the driver and their co-pilot (the front seat passenger). You also incur a head curtain for all outboard seating positions. In addition, this car has multiple alerts. Whether it’s for lane changing, the side blind zone, or rear cross traffic. This comes in handy to avoid dings and scratches to its beautiful 18″ 10-spoke alloy wheels. Overall, the braking was decent, but not as sharp as other competing models at this price point.
Other specs: Fuel tank capacity for the 2019 XT4 sits at 15.9 gals. This car’s carbon emission is at 6.8 gals per year at 15,000 miles per year. It too has an air filtration system in the cabin and a powered universal tablet holder.
In short, the 2019 Cadillac XT4 AWD Sport is a match made in heaven for an emerging influencer, a youthful mid-level executive and/or an adventurous individual on the prowl for some of the best eats in a major metropolis area. Of course with a few friends in tow. The model we tested was $55,735 and it was worth every cent.
From the American brand that is most widely known for its industrial and rugged trucks, we are given the all new 2019 Chevrolet Traverse High Country. Based on size alone, the Traverse has always excelled at hauling both people and cargo, and with it’s non minivan-esque appearance, it provides the look of sophistication and poise.
The new Traverse is square-jawed and truck-like and loses none of its usefulness in the 2019 makeover. In addition, its readily available high-end goodies push the envelope in the big three-row crossover upmarket. Its V-6 engine has been proven time and time again to be both extraordinarily powerful and fuel efficient. The Traverse’s suspension provides a compliant ride while maintaining its composure in corners. The turning radius for this large of a SUV is unbeatable. When parking or maneuvering at low speed, the Traverse feels every bit its size. Pick up the pace, however, and this bigger Chevy feels smaller than it is—poised, if not remarkably agile. Steering effort is low, but the system is precise and makes aiming the big SUV easy. The Traverse’s suspension is tuned for a good balance between handling and ride comfort.
Firstly, one of the most important overall features of the vehicle is the potent V-6 engine which gives the Traverse its robust power and the slick-shifting nine-speed automatic transmission changes gears smoothly and unobtrusively. The traverse also includes perhaps the most seamless automatic stop/start feature on the market today.
As far as the engine goes, the time-tested V-6 generates 310 horsepower, with an incredible 266 pound-feet of torque. The acceleration (0-60 in 6.7 seconds) is not only a full second faster than the previous version, but also makes the vehicle one of the fasted accelerating vehicles in the full-sized, heavy-duty SUV class. That’s accompanied by an efficient nine-speed transmission that is as impressively tuned as the suspension. The average of 27 mpg is not surprising given Chevy’s history making fuel efficient vehicles.
In addition, the blind-spot monitoring is an excellent feature given the SUV’s larger size and the forward-collision warning is great added feature as well. Perhaps one of the most anticipated, highly-advanced features, however, is the lane-keep assist technology implanted into the brains of the vehicle.
Earning a five-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, this cruiser has more than adequate perks to protect your passengers. Braking is firm and reactive. The rearview mirror camera improves the field of vision by 300% and after getting some used to, makes the driver feel more confident during heavier traffic hours. And of course, AWD allows the vehicle more traction during precipitation and elegantly claws corners.
Not only does the Traverse feature a new and contemporary infotainment system, but also a more refined cabin with an abundance of cup holders and USB ports throughout the cabin. The cabin is so insulated that the drivers have noted that the tachometer is needed just to ensure the engine is running while at a stoplight. Our vehicle came with dual panel sunroof (retractable) and moonroof towards back (non-retractable), adding additional light inside once shades are drawn and making the overall cabin feel voluptuous. Our model tested possessed a white coat perfect for our after-Christmas drive and the deep camel-colored leather (with ‘High Country’ insignia headrests) made it feel rich and sultry.
At the center of the infotainment system is the 8-inch, high-mounted touchscreen which is simple and equipped with colorful graphics, and standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. To top it all, the vehicle includes a 4G LTE WiFi hotspot. It quickly responds to user inputs and seals the deal for the tech-savvy.
Comfort and Storage
The 2019 Traverse is a full-size three-row crossover SUV that is positioned below the larger, heavier-duty Tahoe and above the smaller framed Equinox. Drop all of the Traverse’s folding seats and it becomes a cargo-hauling champ with more space than any of its rivals. Six carry-on suitcases fit behind the third row, which means it wins at carrying both people and their luggage. It offers the most first-row cubby storage in its class as well. The second and third rows can accommodate adults comfortably, Unlike its predecessor, this latest-generation Traverse is more than just a minivan alternative.
At approximately $53,200, the Chevy Traverse is one of the most remarkable larger crossovers in the history of the modern SUV. It truly has the appearance of a family-oriented vehicle and yet the sleekness of a luxury SUV. The comfort and the technology implanted in the interior of the vehicle create a versatile vehicle perfect for a low-key urban excursion or a family cross country road trip. In short, Chevrolet has mastered a vehicle that is truly a force to be reckoned with and will treat its owner well for its life-span.
The 2018 Camaro 2 SS defines the modern day muscle car. It thrusts power with a new focus on aerodynamics and handling. Its overstated presence remains true, but with enhanced design features – it has the auto world watching.
The vehicle features the 1LE track package finished in a silver ice metallic coating with a prominent front grille ending at a point. It sports a sleek black mesh grille and vents that are strategically positioned on the hood to enhance the breathing and cooling mechanisms. The stance is wide and athletic, thanks to the 20” forged aluminum wheels, in combination with aggressive sized fenders for increased handling capabilities.
Let’s take our attention to the rear of the vehicle. The taillights are streamlined to accent the masculine contours and racing additions. This includes a black finished spoiler and chrome polished quad pipes that sing the sweet melody of a manually shifted 6.2 liter V8 putting down 455HP to the crank.
As of late, 360 MAGAZINE had the opportunity to pilot the Chevy on a variety of escapades around Los Angeles county. To begin, the team traveled to the first annual Brunch Life Festival in Long Beach. The fest featured a variety of different restaurants from Long Beach, Orange County and LA serving anything from gourmet burgers to delectable desserts.
At Sneaker Con LA held in Anaheim, 360 had the pleasure of interviewing the design manager for Global Chevrolet Color and Trim, Brett Goliff. Sneaker Con was the perfect location to meet Brett as his love for sneakers and street wear is unparalleled – a passion that has blossomed since 1993. Before his career at Chevrolet, Brett worked as a shoe designer for New Balance. His design philosophy is simple. “Form follows function,” said Golliff. “Successful design is nothing without a purpose and reason for being. It should always be routed in function. Once you have the function you are solving for, make it look beautiful.”
Before his current role, Golliff focused on Chevrolet performance vehicles. His most recent work can be seen on the sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro and seventh-generation Corvette, including the new 2019 Corvette ZR1, the most capable Corvette made to this date.
Driving a manual car in traffic can be frustrating, however the Camaro’s smooth clutch and short shifter made the repetitive shifting in stop-and-go traffic a breeze. In addition, it is more spacious than a coupe, as a group of four can fit with ease. The versatility to function as both a pure sports vehicle and luxury vehicle make the Camaro an ideal commuter car.
The Camaro 2SS’s 1LE track package will cost an additional$7,000USD. It highlights a variety of performance additions, including magnetic ride control, beefed up 20” wheels (Summer tires only), Recaro performance front bucket seats, electronic limited slip differential, dual mode performance exhaust, suede finished flat bottom sport steering wheel and shift knob, satin black blade spoil, satin black hood wrap, satin black front splitter and Brembo performance brakes with red calipers – talk abut bang for your buck.
With no access to a track, the trip shifted to a driving hotspot, Mulholland drive – a road which can expose the inadequacy in handling with some of the most elite vehicles in production. When put to the test, the beauty performed as intended, handling narrow twists and turns of the canyon with grace. Thanks to magnetic ride control, body roll is virtually absent staying extremely flat in back-to-back turns almost as if it was riding on rails – a feeling usually experienced in its European counterpart. Moreover, with the rev matching feature activated, the 6.2L V8 will keep power consistent when down shifting heading into a turn that provides more acceleration and traction while exiting. This is a neat feature for those who have not yet learned the intricacies of a manually shifted vehicle, making it enjoyable for even the novice enthusiast.
The interior is simple, allowing the driver to focus on what really matters – the road. It features a Chevrolet Mylink audio system with navigation ($495USD) on an 8-inch diagonal touch screen that is also compatible with Apple Car Play and Android Drive. Furthermore, one can opt for the performance data and video recorder ($1300USD) that can record several metrics and provide feedback on the driver’s performance.
Valued at $42,000USD for the base model and an additional $7,000USD for the 1LE track package plus extra features available upon request, the total comes to a modest $51,790USD for a full blown track super star. The noteworthy 2018 Camaro is a steal for anyone looking to acquire an entry level sport vehicle.
