Lamborghini Huracán STO

“Can perform a corner without losing its speed, there is no secret, only a matter of overall balance.” Andrea Caldarelli

By: Conan Zhang, Elle Grant × Vaughn Lowery

The Lamborghini Huracán first debuted at the 2014 Geneva auto show, and it is nearing 17,500 sales nationally, making the Huracán of the most popular cars in the United States. In the year 2022, This legendary model displays its prowess in a powerful performance! The “Super Trofeo Omologato,” in short as STO, is making its name in the Lamborghini Huracán family.

The Huracán STO is the most powerful Huracán ever made, created with only one goal: to deliver the most genuine feeling of a track car in the body of a road-legal machine. The car is inspired by the racing heritage of Lamborghini Squadra Corse’s one-make race series, featuring the Super Trofeo EVO and also GT3 EVO model, which won 3 times at the  24 hours Daytona and twice at the 12 hour Sebring race. In this car model, drivers are provided with the opportunity to enjoy the ultimate race experience every time they take to the road.

Once again, 360 Magazine is excited to be invited to the exclusive Lamborghini Lounge NYC; the opening of this site coincides with the debut of Huracán STO! This private space is located at 533 W 26th Street in the heart of the Chelsea district. The space was designed in an extravagant way offering us and other users the most luxurious experiences. The sound system in the room provided by Bang & Olufsen brings forth a progressive listening experience, maximizing the atmosphere of rallies and parties that can be held in the space. All the rooms here feature Italian furniture by Living Divani, while the kitchen is furnished by La Dolce Vita, allowing all the guests to not only enjoy driving Italian but also living Italian. Most excitingly, 360 had the chance to see and drive the 2022 Lamborghini Huracán STO with the guide with a Formula 1 Racer from the Lounge.

Design

The exterior is designed to achieve the balance of being both powerful and functional. It inherits the appearance of the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO while being even more aggressive! The usage of carbon fiber in the model makes up 75% of the body panels, which means every part viewable to the consumer’s eye is made of carbon fiber. This unique configuration makes the car 88 pounds lighter than the Performante model.

The one thing extraordinarily unique about the design is in the front of the car. It is called the “Cofango” – a specially designed body component that incorporates the front hood and fender. It looks like a stylish clamshell made purely of carbon fiber resting on the head of the car and it can be lifted as a whole.

When we move our sight to the back of the car, there is an exaggerated double-profile rear race wing that can be adjusted into 3 positions. It will provide 714-925 pounds of downforce, equivalent to the weight of a highland cow! On top of the car is a central shark-fin along with several air scoops that helps drag optimization and an ideal aerodynamic performance. Compared with the Performante model, this vehicle is 37% more aerodynamic efficient.

Compared with the 2021 Lamborghini Huracan EVO RWD Spyder, which 360 had the opportunity to test drive last month, the drag coefficient is much better on the STO model, as the EVO is a Spyder version where the drag force is extremely high with the top down.

Performance

The rear-wheel-drive not only contributes to making this car’s ability to drift and turn in a more sophisticated way but also assists in making the car lighter than the AWD models. It is equipped with rear steering that makes handling even more precise. With a V10 naturally aspirated 640 hp (470 kW) power plant, it produces a torque of 565 Nm, at 6,500 rpm. These components combined provide an acceleration of 0-62 mph in 3.0 seconds, 0-124 mph in 9.0 seconds, and a top speed of 192 mph.

The brakes on this car absolutely provide us with a race evocative adrenaline! The CCMR Braking System, which is directly derived from F1, is now built into the carbon-ceramic brakes that help stop this speed monster in 3 seconds when driving at 62 mph.

Technology

When we settle into the driver’s seat, there features a delicate touch screen on the center of the console. New Human Machine Interface (HMI) is equipped on the car, which helps the users to control the drive mode, monitor tire pressures, and tracks brake temperatures. The car is exactly what is needed to be a champion on the track day on the weekend without sacrificing the high-end features of a technologically advanced model. What is more satisfying is that the STO Connected Telemetry System will record a splendid performance which drivers can use to check our phones anytime and everywhere.

There are 3 driving modes that one can choose on the steering wheel – STO mode which is for daily driving, Trofeo mode which is for a fast and furious track driving experience, and Pioggia mode that adds huge traction designed expressly for driving on the wet surface.

Besides those technical features that help monitor the Huracán’s day-to-day performance, this car also features more classic modern features such as Apple Car Play and USB cables for convenience on the daily commute!

Conclusion

This stunning beast of a vehicle starts at USD 327,838, which is surely more expensive than the RWD Huracán EVO. People may doubt whether it is worthwhile spending more on a car that is both a daily vehicle and born for the track. The answer, from experience, is this STO model is a supercar of its kind and features peak performance qualities across the board – the STO stands in a class of its own. In a look towards the future, Lamborghini has announced that they will go completely hybrid on all model lines beginning in 2024. Despite this development, we are glad to still be living in an era where the STO still shines on stage, or rather, the track.

The Best Sports Streaming Services

It wasn’t so long ago that watching sport required us to be in front of a TV, at home, a sports bar, or somewhere similar. We had to plan our day around the game, as it was only possible to watch it when the TV network broadcast it. That’s, of course, if they broadcast it at all, as networks may not always have the rights to do so.

Nowadays, we have access to a plethora of streaming services, including many that cater for sports games. Here’s some of the best.

NFL
If you want the flexibility to watch NFL games without being tied to your TV, then there are several streaming options depending on where you are and when you want to watch. For those inside the US, Amazon Prime offers streaming for most Thursday night games, where you will be able to watch SuperBowl LIII winners the New England Patriots, while CBS All Access offers viewers all Sunday AFC games. This latter option is great for fans of AFC North favourites Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers, who can watch these games for $6 per month.

Coverage is somewhat patchy across these and other streaming services, so the best way to get access to all games is to purchase an NFL Game Pass subscription. For those outside of North America, all games are available for live streaming, while those in the US and Canada will have to wait for their live TV broadcast to end. NFL Game Pass provides on demand access to past games to all customers, regardless of their location.

Formula 1
Formula 1 has traditionally had great TV coverage in some countries, but fans in some others have not been so lucky. To plug the gap, Formula 1 has launched its own streaming service called F1 TV Pro. In the countries where it is available, fans can stream all sessions live for $79.99 per season, as well as have access to replays, highlights and historic races. Fans that don’t want to pay can watch 5-minute highlight videos on YouTube.

Amazon Prime
Aside from a select number of NFL games, Amazon Prime Video has begun purchasing the broadcast rights for several other sports. It will be the first streaming company to begin showing English Premier League games in December 2019. For tennis fans, Amazon has also been broadcasting numerous ATP tournaments live, while fans of golf are able to watch most PGA Tour events live. Prime also features many sports documentaries, covering just about every major sport you can think of.

While broadcasting rights for sport can be a complicated business, it seems that streaming services are beginning to step on the toes of traditional TV networks. Whether it is third party services like Amazon Prime, or the sport’s own service like F1 TV Pro or NFL Game Pass, it seems these are the future of watching sport. Apart from this you can stream your sports shows from anywhere on any device using software such as OBS Streaming. Know more about it from Cloud Citrix providers.

Lewis Hamilton sets record with 92nd career win

Lewis Hamilton took pole position in career victories after securing his 92nd career win at the 2020 Portuguese Grand Prix on October 25, 2020. The record haul puts him one win above one of the sport’s all-time greats, Michael Schumacher. Data presented by Safebettingsites.com takes a look at a list of Hamilton’s major accomplishments and milestones in what is already an illustrious career.

Lewis Hamilton’s father, Anthony Hamilton, dedicated an emotional tribute to his son after Lewis Hamilton recently won the championship. The video was released by Formula 1 here.

Hamilton Breaks Schumacher’s Unbeatable Record

When Michael Schumacher broke the record for career wins and then eventually set the bar at 91 total victories, many thought the record will never be broken, or at least not for some time. Yet, less than 15 years later Hamilton has taken the top step of the podium from Schumacher and looks well underway to breaking the once unfathomable century mark.

The setting for the milestone was Algarve International Circuit in Portimao, Portugal. The track does not normally feature in the F1 calendar with the last f1 race held in 1996. But with the COVID-19 pandemic throwing chaos in the F1 racing calendar, officials decided to add the track to maximise the number of races for the season.

Hamilton Breaking Records Since He Was A Rookie Driver

Lewis Hamilton made his debut in 2007 and showed his potential early on with what is considered to be the best rookie season in Formula 1 history. His debut season saw him break several records on his way to losing the world championship by merely a point. As of writing, Hamilton still holds the record for; most debut season victories(4), most debut season pole positions (6), and most points in a debut season (109). In setting all these records he became the youngest driver to lead the world championship at 22 years old, a record he still currently holds.

Lewis Hamilton A Career Full Of Superlatives

After a scintillating start to his F1 career, Hamilton has gone from strength to strength and has set many other records along the way to breaking Schumacher’s record. As of writing, Hamilton leads in the following categories; most pole positions (97), most podium finishes (161), most wins from pole position (57) and most podium finishes in a season (10) just to name a few.

These are just a few from a myriad of milestones Hamilton has set in his quest to become Formula 1’s  Greatest of All Time.

Along the way, they manage to tilt the claustrophobic electronic drive of the original off its axis, creating a gorgeous, pulsating drift of celestial house music in the process. This remix of “Out Of Control” is an edit taken from a longer Surrender-inspired piece The Avalanches created that is due for release in the future.

“Out Of Control (The Avalanches Surrender To Love Mix)” is accompanied by a brand-new screen print from original Surrender artwork designer Kate Gibb using the original film from 1999. Gibb has also helped to create a truly stunning visualizer for the track alongside graphic artist Jimmy Turrell – watch it HERE.

“Out Of Control” was the third single taken from Surrender and featured vocals by New Order’s Bernard Sumner and Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie. The deluxe reissue of Surrender – featuring hours of unreleased material and a blu-ray of the band’s Glastonbury 2000 Pyramid Stage headline set – is out now HERE.

The Avalanches latest album, Wildflower, was released to critical acclaim in 2016 via Astralwerks. Pitchfork called the album “better than just about any music ever made.” “Out Of Control” is the duo’s first official remix since 2013.

The O’Gara Coach vehicles were also on display at this time, garnering attention from the crowds hoping to snap a photo and peek at the models. By 4 pm on Wednesday, the live festivities officially began and thousands of spectators were lined up on Hollywood Blvd to watch the live show. O’Gara kicked off the show by driving their cars through the track driven by world-class professionals including Parris Mullins, Mark Proto, and Geoff Reeves. The crowd was mesmerized as these dazzling vehicles exhibited a true pinnacle of supercars in the hustle and bustle of Hollywood Blvd. Following O’Gara’s presentation, Red Bull provided an extravagant display of dare devil’s parachuting from the sky to arrive right on the track, stunt bikers, and acrobats. As a special delight, a live orchestra led by composer Brian Tyler performed the F1 theme song.

Wednesday also featured demonstrations from three Formula 1 world champions Valtteri Bottas, Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen. The trio was accompanied by their respective teams; Mercedes AMG Petronas Racing, Renault F1, and Aston Martin Red Bull Racing, before heading to Austin Texas to compete in the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix. TAILOR-MADE PIRELLI TIRES

FOR THE LATEST FERRARI 488 CHALLENGE EVO

At the Finali Mondiali in Mugello, the new GT car for Ferrari’s one-make challenge will be presented on Pirelli tires that have been especially made for it. This opens yet another fascinating chapter in the exciting 27-year history that unites these two iconic Italian companies

Pirelli has presented the new Pirelli P Zero DHA tire for the new Ferrari 488 Evo for the 2020 season and beyond on all four Ferrari Challenge championships (Europe, North America, Asia Pacific and UK). Racing supercars and hypercars from the celebrated XX programme, as well as historic Formula 1 cars, all on Pirelli tyres, were also featured in the thrilling presentation.

PIRELLI AND THE FERRARI CHALLENGE, 27 YEARS TOGETHER

During the 27th Ferrari Finali Mondiali at Mugello, Pirelli presented the tire for the Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo. It’s a tire that meets all the demands imposed by Ferrari, allowing the new racing machine to lap faster than its predecessor. Pirelli has been the exclusive supplier to the Ferrari Challenge since the series made its debut in 1993, in all the regions of the world where these championships run.

SEVEN MONTHS ON SEVEN CIRCUITS

Pirelli’s engineers worked in close collaboration with their counterparts at Ferrari for nearly seven months to create this latest tire. The new tire, available in 275/675-19 DHA size (at the front) and 315/705-19 DHA (at the back) was developed starting from a virtual model, which can also be used for driving simulators. Its characteristics were then validated through indoor laboratory tests, before real life testing was carried out on seven European circuits, including Vallelunga, Mugello, Le Castellet and Silverstone. These sessions helped to assess road holding and integrity in different driving and weather conditions, confirming the all-round performance of the new 488 Challenge Evo. This latest P Zero adopts a new tread compound and is made on the motorsport production line at Pirelli’s factory in Romania, where the company also makes the tires for Formula 1.

MOTORSPORT: AN OPEN AIR LABORATORY

Mario Isola, Pirelli’s head of F1 and car racing, said: “The Ferrari Challenge represents an important technical collaboration as it allows our engineers to develop solutions in extreme conditions that can then be transferred to our road car tires. The latest evolution of our P Zero tires for the Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo demonstrates once again how Pirelli’s advanced technology combines with the best of the automotive industry in motorsport as well.”

Following Alesi’s lap, the iconic tire brand unveiled its 18-inch Formula 1 tire which will be put to the test for the first time at Paul Ricard this Thursday and Friday. Formula One Managing Director Ross Brawn, FIA Single Seater-Commission President Stefano Domenicali, FIA Formula 2 Championship CEO Bruno Michel and Pirelli’s Head of F1 and Car Racing Mario Isola were in attendance.

According to Isola, “The eye-catching demonstration run with the new 18-inch tires at Monza, courtesy of a legendary driver who will always be associated with this track, provided a fascinating glimpse of a future that will be with us before we know it. The link between Formula 2 and Formula 1 have never been closer, symbolized by this latest demonstration and display at our home circuit. Now we look forward to track testing some 18-inch Formula 1 prototypes for the first time next week in France.”
