Volbeat – “Die to Live”

VOLBEAT SECURES 8TH #1 RECORD ON THE MAINSTREAM ROCK SONGS CHART
WITH “DIE TO LIVE

BAND NOW HAS THE MOST #1s BY A EUROPEAN BAND

7th STUDIO ALBUM, REWIND, REPLAY, REBOUND, OUT NOW VIA REPUBLIC RECORDS

Volbeat’s latest single, “Die To Live,” is currently #1 on the Mainstream Rock Songs chart. The Danish band’s latest single is their 8th to reach the top of the chart, racking up more #1 songs in this format than any other European artist. The honor was previously held by U2, who’s record Volbeat tied last August when their single “Last Day Under The Sun” became their 7th number one on the chart. Find more information via Billboard here.

Tickets and information for Volbeat’s “Rewind, Replay, Rebound World Tour” are available here.

Volbeat recently debuted a new video documenting their 2019 called “Die To Live – The Year In Volbeat” which features footage from their sold-out European tour, their US summer trek on The Knottfest Roadshow, and the filming of the music video for “Die To Live (feat. Neil Fallon)” which was directed by Adam Rothlein at Ghost Atomic Pictures and taped at Futura Studio in Roslindale, MA. The song and video both feature appearances by Clutch’s Neil Fallon, as well as Raynier Jacob Jacildo and Doug Corcoran of JD McPherson’s band.

The band’s seventh studio album Rewind, Replay, Rebound is out now. For the album, Volbeat— Michael Poulsen (guitars/vocals), Rob Caggiano (guitars), Kaspar Boye Larsen (bass), and Jon Larsen (drums) —build upon the distinct, psychobilly, punk-tinged rock ‘n’ roll sound they are known for while reaching for new creative summits. “The whole point for us going into the studio, is because you still have something to prove — not just for the fans, but mostly for yourself,” says Poulsen. “We would not be able to do this record if it wasn’t for the work we have done in the past. No matter how old the band gets or how many records we do, there is always going to be that signature sound.” Rewind, Replay, Rebound is available on all formats here, including a 2 CD deluxe edition, a special deluxe edition box set, and transparent and blue colored vinyl, numbered and limited to 1,000 copies each.

Rewind, Replay, Rebound was produced by long-time collaborator Jacob Hansen and co-produced by Rob Caggiano and Michael Poulsen. This marks the first studio album with Kaspar Boye Larsen on bass. To achieve the album’s sound the band also drew upon a myriad of guests including backing vocalist Mia Maja and the Harlem Gospel Choir, who both return after appearing on 2016’s Seal The Deal & Let’s Boogie. Ultimately, Volbeat has not lost their passion to create and progress. It’s that which keeps them hungry — and musically honest on the new album.

VOLBEAT emerged from Copenhagen in 2001. Since then, they’ve tirelessly clawed their way to hard rock’s upper echelon with endless touring, including opening for Metallica, Motorhead and Slipknot, and a string of six beloved full-length albums. Their 2010 album Beyond Hell/Above Heaven, which features hit singles “A Warrior’s Call” and “Heaven Nor Hell,” has received RIAA Gold Certification. 2013’s Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies, which includes the Grammy-nominated “Room 24,” bowed at #9 on the Billboard Top 200 upon release, marking the highest U.S. chart entry for a Danish act since 1997. A distinction that Volbeat topped in 2016 when Seal The Deal & Let’s Boogie debuted at #4. The band also released Let’s Boogie! Live At Telia Parken, a concert film and album documenting their landmark 2017 Copenhagen show in front of 48,250 fans, the largest show a Danish band has ever performed in Denmark.

The Avalanches – Running Red Lights

Astralwerks released The Avalanches’ soaring new single, “Running Red Lights.” Featuring the unmistakable voice of Rivers Cuomo, the track finds the Weezer front man in a single-minded mood, emotional – “I’m a thundercloud, ready to burst like Schrödinger” – and running red lights to reach his lover. Set against The Avalanches’ ghostly dreamscape, Cuomo sounds as though he’s speeding along a cosmic highway, while synths, harps and tambourines swell, sparkle and cascade all around. Enter Pink Siifu, incantating the words of the late, great David Berman (lifted from the Purple Mountains’ tune “Darkness And Cold”) and clairvoyance seems to hang in the ether.

Nothing But Thieves, RCA RECORDS, 360 MAGAZINE

Nothing But Thieves

Nothing But Thieves have released their bold brand new single Is Everybody Going Crazy? along with the lyric video via Sony Music UK/RCA Records. Watch HERE.

Is Everybody Going Crazy? is the band’s first new music since their 2018 EP What Did You Think When You Made Me This Way and their 2017 acclaimed album Broken Machine, which charted at #2 in the UK album chart.

Produced by Mike Crossey (The 1975, Arctic Monkeys and Wolf Alice), it is a fresh sound for the band that delivers in spades. Opening with a gritty rock riff, the track launches into lead singer Conor’s triumphantly versatile and intensely euphoric vocal, which builds into a frenzied dark pop chorus that is as at home on the dancefloor as it is filling stadiums. Lyrically it discusses a fractured, barely recognisable civilisation and desire for escapism.

The band say, “There is a quiet sadness about the verses. The character in the song doesn’t understand the world around themselves or relate to the people in it. What they once thought were the principles or morals they were meant to follow no longer seem to apply.  Others seem to revel in the lunacy. In a place like that, it makes you realise that you need something to hang onto, like an anchor. There are a few elements of escapism throughout the song, whether it is through another person, stealing a moment to switch off or changing their mentality.”

The past few years have been quite a ride for Nothing But Thieves. Amassing over 700,000 album sales and 750million streams so far, they have built up a loyal and wide following for their impactful alt rock sound, cementing themselves as one of the best current rock bands in the world. Selling 150,000 tickets on their last album campaign, which included their biggest UK headline tour to date and a sold-out show at London’s Alexandra Palace, and selling out their entire worldwide Broken Machine headline tour, their success has been global.

The band have performed on US TV shows such as James Corden and Jimmy Kimmel, after their debut became the bestselling debut from a UK rock band in the US in 2015 and played packed out international shows from Poland to Amsterdam, where they headlined an arena to 6,000 fans. After intimately debuting new songs at Tufnell Park Dome recently for a BRITs/War Child gig, they will be touring internationally this spring, including a show to 6,500 people at Moscow Adrenaline Stadium at the end of March.

Nothing But Thieves are Conor Mason (vocals, guitars), Joe Langridge-Brown (guitars), Dominic Craik (guitars, keyboard), Philip Blake (bass guitar) and James Price (drums).

Rising artist UNFITS on their first single “Satisfy Me” and working with legendary producer Emily Haynie

The music industry is a fickle beast. There are so many bands that spend years on the touring circuit pushing to build a fanbase, without ever seeing success. And then, on the other hand, there are some artists that hit it out of the park on their first up at bat, thanks to a combination of talent, ambition, and a myriad other factor that can be difficult to pin down.

UNFITS are a band that seem destined for overnight success. Led by vocalist El Sueño and collaborator Eric Scullin – both of whom have written and recorded with artists like RZA (Wu Tang Clan) and the legendary emcee Royce da 5’9 — the band has been on a wild trajectory over the past few months, amassing a major following nearly overnight thanks to the success of their first single “Satisfy Me.” Recorded by Grammy winning producer Emily Haynie — known for his work with Kanye West, Lana Del Rey, Eminem, Kid Cudi, and Lady Gaga — “Satisfy Me” has already received more than 1.2 million streams and will be featured on the band’s debut album, slated for release later this year.

Listen to “Satisfy Me” by UNFITS on Spotify – https://open.spotify.com/artist/3OOBfhRysJwpfrT8TmSxQV?si=q4_lAsVhSkKKTNO1aamZYQ

We spoke with El Sueño about the band’s rise to success, the new single “Satisfy Me,” and the upcoming music video for the song, which was shot in 7 countries around the world with a cast of social media celebrities like The Real Tarzann and Jay Alvarrez.

360 Magazine: Tell us a little bit about your background. When did you start writing music?

El Sueño: I started writing music when I was 10 years old on acoustic guitar and piano…mostly inspired by Bob Dylan and The Clash.

360 Magazine: You’ve already worked with some impressive artists during your career. What was it like collaborating with RZA? Did seeing his process inform how you work?

El Sueño: Hearing RZA tell us stories about New York City’s five boroughs, getting shot at, and ultimately using the power of music as his way out resonated deeply. Music is sometimes more than just an artistic medium, it’s a redemption. RZA’s process deeply affected our creativity and fearlessness about being artists.

360 Magazine: We love “Satisfy Me.” Can you tell us a little bit about the song? What was it like working with Emile Haynie?

El Sueño: “Satisfy me” is how I felt after visiting 50 countries, and feeling like I had seen everything in excess, but still searching for something to be satiated.

I wrote the song while drinking tequila in the back of a tour bus in less than 10 minutes and recorded it on my iPhone. It somehow found its way to Emile Haynie, who called me and asked me to meet him at Charlie Chaplin’s old studio to produce the song. At first when I heard Emile Haynie wanted to work on it I thought it was a prank. He had produced two of my favorite artists of all time (Lana Del Rey and Kanye West). It was like the Beethoven of pop and culture calling to work. Incredibly honored and grateful to be able to learn from him and work on new music now.

360 Magazine: You shot the music video for “Satisfy Me” in seven countries around the world. What was the shoot like? Can you tell us anything about the video?

El Sueño: I love film and am inspired by Ridley Scott and Christopher Nolan. So I decided to take a stab at directing the music video. Nothing could have prepared us for going  with the team into war zones in Ukraine, and shark infested waters in Moorea. I think this is the first music video where we actually had a real strong chance of actually dying while we were shooting it.

360 Magazine: How did you connect with The Real Tarzann and Jay Alvarrez?

El Sueño: I met the Real Tarzann and Jay Alvarrez in Bora Bora for Saving The Reefs. We hit it off and have become close friends, and we’re now shooting a reality show.

360 Magazine: You have just released your first single with The UNFITS. What are your aspirations and plans for 2020?

El Sueño: I want to take music fans on a musical journey through our upcoming album and live on the road. All I want to do in life is connect with other people and share the redemption I found in music with the world.

360 Magazine: Is there anything else you would like our readers to know?

El Sueño: Don’t be a little glitch.

All Time Low – Sleeping In

The track, which premiered earlier today on Scott Mills’ BBC Radio 1 show, is available to stream and download now HERE. Partnering with North Shore Animal League America (NSALA) to help raise money and awareness for no kill rescue and adoption organizations, All Time Low has also shared an official music video for the song. The Max Moore directed clip was shot on location in Nashville, TN at NSALA shelter partner, MACC. Fans can donate to NSALA HERE.

Wake Up, Sunshine is due for release on April 3rd via Fueled By Ramen, and is available for pre-order now HERE. Fans who pre-order the album will receive instant downloads of “Sleeping In” and lead single “Some Kind Of Disaster”. Exclusive pre-order bundles including vinyl and the band’s very own RISE Brewing Co “Wake Up Sunshine” Nitro Cold Brew Coffee are available in the band’s webstore HERE. This weekend, the group will celebrate the announcement of Wake Up, Sunshine with a pair of intimate sold out shows in the United Kingdom, where they are currently featured on the cover of Kerrang!.

All Time Low began building anticipation for the album last month with the release of “Some Kind of Disaster” alongside an official music video. Within a month, the song clocked over four million streams with E! News attesting “the pop-punk band returns with this introspective track and a whole new outlook.” Billboard added, “‘Some Kind of Disaster’ begins the next era for All Time Low.”

The group went back to the basics (and the basement) for Wake Up, Sunshine. Throughout 2019, the four musicians—Alex Gaskarth [vocals, guitar], Jack Barakat [guitar, vocals], Zack Merrick [bass, vocals], and Rian Dawson [drums]—congregated together in Nashville at Rian’s studio and at a Palm Springs rental house. Face-to-face, they wrote and recorded the 15-song affair joined by co-writer, producer, and collaborator Zakk Cervini.

“We got back to how we started,” commented Alex. “It had been a long time since the four of us made a record under one roof. That became a central theme. We’ve been a band for 17 years. Everybody brought something to the table. A lot of what you’re hearing came from those magic moments together.”

Jack concurred, “I think we accomplished something special. By putting our four heads together, we were able to make a classic All Time Low album.”

Wake Up, Sunshine distills two decades of experience into a definitive and dynamic body of work for the band. Welcoming new collaborators into their world, the forthcoming album sees All Time Low teaming up with blackbear on “Monsters” and The Band CAMINO on “Favorite Place”.

“What A Man Gotta Do” charges forward on upbeat acoustic guitar and a percussive groove. Directed by Joseph Kahn, the band and the ladies put their own smart, satirical, spirited and sexy twist on classic films such as Risky Business, Grease, and Say Anything.

Watch it HERE

The broadcast premiere for the video will air on MTV Live, mtvU and the Times Square Viacom billboard at 6AM EST today.

Jonas Brothers will pull out all the stops next Sunday January 26 when they perform “What A Man Gotta Do” live for the very first time at the 62nd Annual GRAMMY Awards® in Los Angeles. Plus, they vie for the “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance” statue at the ceremony.

Be sure to tune in to the broadcast on CBS.

The song arrives hot on the heels of the band’s blockbuster comeback album, Happiness Begins. Not only did it bow at #1 on the Billboard Top 200, go platinum, and set the stage for the sold out Happiness Begins Tour across arenas everywhere, but it also yielded the Hot 100 #1 smash “Sucker,” which proved definitive for 2019. Most importantly, it set the stage for the biggest, boldest, and brightest era of Jonas Brothers yet.

Be on the lookout for more surprises and big news very soon.

The preeminent male group of this century, Jonas Brothers opened the floodgates for a new era of titans in pop music. Following a six-year hiatus, Jonas Brothers took 2019 by storm with the surprise release of their critically acclaimed and widely successful single “Sucker.” The double-platinum single debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100, becoming the first #1 for the band and the first #1 debut from a group this century.  The song emerged as a cultural phenomenon, ranking #1 on Billboard’s critic’s picks list of the “50 Best Songs of 2019,” and standing out as the top song on U.S. Radio in 2019, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

Making history once more, the band delivered their third #1 album debut with the release of their platinum-selling album Happiness Begins. The band continued to soar with their sold-out “Happiness Begins Tour,” with over 1 million tickets sold.  The tour received unanimous praise with Billboard writing, “The ‘Happiness Begins’ Tour feels like a celebration of everything in the Jonas Brothers’ career, but also the beginning of their larger-than-life new chapter,” and The Washington Post claiming, “There hasn’t been a boy band in recent history that’s made a comeback quite like Jonas Brothers.” Moreover, Rolling Stone summed it best, “Following a six year hiatus, it almost feels like the Jonas Brothers are bigger than ever.”

The band closed out a banner year with the release of “Only Human,” another Top 5 hit on both Top 40 and Hot AC radio airplay charts. What’s more, they garnered a bevy of awards, including a 2019 MTV Video Music Award for “Best Pop Video” and two 2019 Teen Choice Awards for “Artist Of The Decade” and “Choice Summer Group.” Plus, they were nominated in top categories at the American Music Awards, including “Favorite Duo or Group Pop/Rock” and “Favorite Song Pop/Rock.” Most recently, they notched their second GRAMMY® nomination for “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.”
