Flipturn Debuts Whales cover art via Big Hassle for use by 360 MAGAZINE

FLIPTURN – WHALES

Fresh off an entrancing set at Bonnaroo, flipturn today releases the official music video for Whales. The latest single from their upcoming debut album Shadowglow, Whales holds a magnifying glass over the effects of seemingly insurmountable pressure. After amassing over 50 million streams on Spotify alone from previous EPs and singles, the band’s debut album will be released in its entirety on August 19. Stream the official video for Whales HERE.

Directed and edited by longtime collaborator Amanda Laferriere, the video for Whales incorporates the motif of dark versus light which appears across much of Shadowglow. Shot in black and white, the band performs in an isolated room perhaps the most intimately one can experience a flipturn performance without the roar of fanfare like at their recent performances at Bonnaroo, Shaky Knees, Hangout, SunFest, and countless headline shows. Clean and understated, this video keeps things direct, while conveying the weight of the song’s subject matter.

Along with the upcoming release of the band’s debut album, comes the Shadowglow Tour. Beginning tomorrow, the tour will run through the rest of the year, moving from coast to coast. Tickets for all shows are on-sale now and all tour information can be found here and below. “Shadows of the band swayed in the strobe lights while Murphy’s spindly arms were outstretched in the starched position of a crucifix. It was the height of haunted heaven for those looking for their fix of the dark side.” – LOS ANGELES TIMES

“Singer Peter Murphy often retreated to the shadows while guitarist Daniel Ash pulled harsh shards of sound from his guitar. ‘Bela Lugosi’s Dead,’ the band’s signature song, let Murphy and Ash continue in that manner, which bassist David J and drummer Kevin Haskins kept the night rumbling on.” – LOS ANGELES DAILY NEWS

“Bauhaus epitomized the spirit of Cruel World…. Under a nearly full moon – appropriately, a lunar eclipse coincided with the festival – but often in shadow, Bauhaus’ potent set had moments of sheer macabre magic.” – VARIETY

“Goth rock pioneers Bauhaus delivered a chilling rendition of their debut single, ‘Bela Lugosi’s Dead’ at their first live show in 13 years Sunday. The gig took place at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, capturing the band in fine form as they effortlessly moved from the song’s abstract, spine-tingling intro into its eerily serene guitar jangle. Frontman Peter Murphy expertly navigated the song’s steady build as well, unleashing a mighty, reverb-soaked howl toward the end as he sang,

‘Oh Bela, Bela’s undead’.” – ROLLING STONE

“Unlike most bands of their vintage, Bauhaus have retained a thrillingly raw, visceral, experimental edge. While Murphy’s still-powerful voice careened between strangulated croak and feral howl on high-drama songs such as In the Flat Field and The Passion of Lovers, Daniel Ash’s guitar was all jagged scrapes, disruptive shudders and coffin-lid creaks. One of the band’s biggest hits, She’s in Parties, opened out into an enjoyably rambling avant-rock instrumental..Bauhaus put the disco into discordant.” – THE TIMES (UK)

“Anticipation was electric for their return – a line stretched around the block before doors, a queue that only rivaled that to the merch table – and fans came out dressed to the nines. The band did not disappoint.” – BROOKLYN VEGAN

“Those who expected to see an iconic band were not disappointed..it was clear that Bauhaus were back with a vengeance.” – BUZZBANDS.LA

She is a collector of cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin or Ethereum and is passionate about helping brands build their identity using current tools and a highly selected network of virtual agents to develop the entrepreneurial capacity of brands. She has already collaborated with multiple popular brands such as iHome, Disney, KidDesigns, Hasbro, CES, KeaBabies, Michael Todd Beauty, and Crown Goose USA.

Listen to Julie Lamb’s full conversation with Vaughn Lowery on the 360 MAG Podcast HERE.

While studying music, Julie went to Europe and started working on fashion collections. She finally settled in New York, where Julie has 30 years of experience working as a model. By highlighting the activity with Brunello Cucinelli on Saks Fifth Avenue, Julie mentioned that her creative confidence was greatly inspired after moving from a small Southwestern town to the Big Apple, New York City.

Julie has long loved the worlds of tech, digital, and speed: ‘I like being able to share things digitally.’ At the forefront of the crypto wave in 2017, she bought Ethereum, a digital platform used to make smart contracts, allowing entrepreneurs to create decentralized applications, as in the case of Julie.

Immersed in the realm of cryptocurrencies, the trailblazer supports projects like Non-Fungible Token (NFT). As a rapidly developing industry, NFT is becoming an increasingly popular way to buy and sell digital art, spanning industries like sports, music, fashion, film, games, etc. The annual NFT conference, held in multiple cities (including New York City and Los Angeles) around the United States, attracts hundreds of guests from various fields who speak about exponential growth and future trends in different verticals and how the digital landscape can incorporate this new tradeable product.

As an NFT-VIP (in which 360 MAGAZINE will serve as one of the media sponsor), Julie’s mission is to shape the NFT industry into diverse communities made of global thought leaders who share like-minded values and beliefs. Last April, she attended the Miami NFT week and served as its Executive Producer, where she focused on igniting new dialogue amongst attendees and tastemakers on topics related to technology, creative installations, immersive art, and performance. Julie can be recognized as an economy connector for providing the space for several minority-owned businesses in this conference to discuss the present and future of the meta-universe and how it affects them.

Although the attendance was underrepresented and some representative minority-owned businesses felt left out, Julie declared her conditional support for the voice of women and the LGBTQ community. Meanwhile, this kind of offline meeting takes highly digital products further into reality, narrowing the society’s discrimination against aging. In addition, she is fascinated by using Web3.0 and its implementation with artists in the fields of music, fashion, and the token economy.

An example of this is that the international brand Gucci has started a multi-directional exploration to embrace the digital world, which associates a luxury brand with emerging technologies through a series of avatar experiences; i.e. exhibitions of Gucci art, mini-games, and digital item purchases.

Julie is now preparing a private event in New York City with NFT VIP sponsorships from June 19th-22nd at Margaritaville Resort Times Square, owned by the real estate and investment firm Soho Properties. Surprise celebrities will be attending that directly tie in with her message and bring new inspiration to the community. Sponsorship opportunities available for this four-day event.

In the field of cryptocurrencies, that features multiple sponsors, will have an additional sponsor called the crypto coin concierge. They will cover the luxury travel for the most elite global clients in the world of cryptocurrencies and with payment through these. Julie tells us that her company has also partnered with iHeartRadio on Crypto Radio in the marketing industry.

JORKAN – NOS MIRAN

The promising Panamanian Jorkan joins artists BCAEl TachiEibyVerzatyl, and Italian Somali to release the song, Nos Miran.

Nos Miran talks about a group of friends who are always attractive to women every time they go out on the street. These six artists appear in the video together with one of their producers, the renowned Panamanian artist and composer Sech.

This reggaeton was produced by Crbro and BK, in addition to Sech, and is available on all digital platforms.

Reckless in Vegas via Erika Pope for The Vox Agency for use by 360 Magazine

Reckless in Vegas × SAHARA

Reckless In Vegas, whose utterly distinctive sound offers a modern twist on Vintage Vegas, announced tickets are now on sale for its ongoing engagement at SAHARA Las Vegas, beginning June 30. Performing in the Las Vegas Strip’s fabled resort-casino, which recently completed a $150 million renovation and where Louis Prima, Bobby Darin, Buddy Hackett and Don Rickles once graced the showroom stage, Reckless In Vegas will appear in the SAHARA Las Vegas Theatre on Thursday and Friday evenings at 8:30 PM. Audiences can look forward to rocking out to the power trio’s exhilarating original renditions of beloved classics by the Rat Pack, Elvis Presley and more.

Reckless In Vegas steals audiences away to the bygone days of Las Vegas when the drinks were strong, the entertainers were charismatic and the music was intoxicating. The show combines the imagery, comedic banter, glamorous showgirls and classic music from Sin City’s 1960s “glory days” with a contemporary rock band aesthetic.

Members Michael Shapiro (band founder, lead vocals, guitar), Jack E. Roth (drums) and Chris Nichols (bass, vocals) have created a high-energy show incorporating live performances of modern versions of songs by artists such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Elvis Presley, Sonny & Cher, Frankie Valli, Neil Diamond, Johnny Cash and Bobby Darin with dynamic production-show elements.

Whether audiences remember the swinging Vegas lounge-era days or were born much later, Reckless In Vegas brings something for everyone. Video montages, dialogue, humor, modern hard-rocking grooves and tender moments of balladry combine to create a truly original take on this classic genre. Think The Rat Pack meets Green Day.

“Performing at the historic—yet completely reimagined—SAHARA Las Vegas on the Las Vegas Strip represents a dream come true for me,” says Shapiro. “There exists no better venue for our band, which reinvents and reinvigorates classic Las Vegas entertainment for contemporary audiences.”

About Michael Shapiro

Shapiro was raised in Las Vegas and, after stints in Oregon and California, returned to his hometown in 2015. He picked up his first instrument at age 13, and trained hard in guitar, vocals, piano and trumpet, attuning his ear to classical opera as well as rock. A chance encounter with a family friend struck the right chord and paved Shapiro’s way into music. At age 16, he had the opportunity to jam with Bruce Springsteen. The rocker’s energetic marathon performances spurred Shapiro to develop a taste for a raucous stage presence. After playing in various cover bands in his teens, Shapiro formed the band Trip, released several albums and toured. Being part of the VH1 Rock Across America Tour, Trip opened for such artists as Edwin McCain, Duncan Sheik, The Romantics and Cheap Trick. It was during an ill-fated gig opening for Great White when a tragic fire struck, that moved Shapiro to deeply reflect on life’s vagaries and whims.

He bounced back, releasing his first solo album, Somehow, Someway, and toured nationally, opening for the alt-rock band Live. After moving to San Rafael, Calif., he formed the power trio: Reckless in Vegas.

Shapiro’s style yields insight into his influences: Jimi Hendrix‘s relentless guitar riffs, Journey‘s Neal Schon, Carlos Santana and the melodic and powerful vocal styling of U2′s Bono

About Jack E. Roth

With more than 35 years’ experience, Roth has played drums and percussion on hundreds of projects associated with major labels and otherwise (including work with MCA, Universal, Interscope, MTV, VH1, Artisan, EA Sports), resulting in an extensive knowledge of playing, recording, production and engineering techniques.

Roth has performed all over the United States, headlining and opening for Guns N’ Roses, Aerosmith, Puddle of Mudd, Chickenfoot, Buckcherry, Corey Taylor (Slipknot/Stone Sour), Fuel, Living Colour, Trapt, Adelita’s Way, Steel Panther, Deep Dark Robot, Cold, Smashmouth, Danzig, Static-X, Fear Factory, Slaughter, Vince Neil, Dokken, Ratt, Eddie Money, Michael Angelo, Rick Derringer, Michael McDonald, Dennis DeYoung (Styx), The Commodores, The Romantics, Al Stewart, Starship, Berlin, Mark Farmer (Grand Funk), The Family Stone, Pat Travers, Edgar Winter, Canned Heat, Ten Years After, Steppenwolf, Marshall Tucker Band, Three Dog Night, War, The Fixx, Vixen, Shotgun Messiah, Kik Tracee, Gilby Clark, Life, Sex & Death, Bang Tango, Gary Hoey and Love/Hate, among others.

He has also played in backing bands for Randy Jackson (Mariah Carey, Journey, American Idol), Dee Snider, Meat Loaf, Sabastian Bach (Skid Row), Nick St. Nicholas (Steppenwolf), Deborah Gibson, Sheri Belafonte, Frank Hannon (Tesla), Tony Fredianelli (Third Eye Blind), Steve Plunkett (Autograph) and Paul Revere & the Raiders.

Roth is endorsed by Ayotte Drums, Aquarian Drumheads and Gibraltar Hardware and is a proud member of ASCAP.

About Chris Nichols

Born in Newark, Ohio, as the son of a piano teacher, Nichols studied the piano, cello, guitar, drums and bass. His early years led him to Nashville where he toured with several artists throughout the nation. His desire to “Go West” led him to Las Vegas when the mob still owned the town. He saw the Sands and the Dunes casinos fall to their demise. Since moving to Sin City, he has recorded on several records both as an artist and an engineer.  Nichols actually shared the stage with Shapiro in Trip as they ascended to the height of that band’s career. With the help of several bands, he has also shared stages with Willie Nelson, Chris Isaak, Toto, Peter Frampton, Rick James and Lifehouse, to name just a few.

Ukraine's Kalush Orchestra via 360 Magazine by 360 Magazine

Ukraine’s Kalush Orchestra wins 2022 Eurovision

The great favorite of the bets to win the crystal microphone confirmed all the forecasts: The Kalush Orchestra band have won the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest for Ukraine with their song ‘Stefania’!

In addition to the talent, the fascinating rhythms with the mixture of modern hip-hop with classic Ukrainian folk, the successful band unleashed a wave of sympathy this week at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 as the representative of a country destroyed by the complicated situation that Ukrainians are suffering against the Russian invasion.

Kalush’s proposal has become a complete representation of the Ukrainian resistance despite the fact that the song festival tries to be on the sidelines of politics and its conflicts. Indeed, the Ukrainian delegation had to change its lighting, since in the first rehearsals it referred to the country’s flag.

However, everything in the Ukrainian proposal recalls the most characteristic features of the Ukrainian people. Some of the performers are wearing traditional historical costumes from the early 20th century: Oleh wore an authentic festive keepar, a vest of the Hutsul – an ethnic group from the Carpathian Mountains – to which he gives a modern twist, with a pink bucket hat and Tymofiy wore the full costume of the same traditional origin. ‘We’re showing off our roots, and we’re showing how to take something from the past and make it work for the present. That’s why we’ve found success at home, and we hope that we can find that sort of reception internationally, as well. We take something old, and we make it sound modern’, affirms the successful band to the official Eurovision website.

This is Ukraine’s third victory at Eurovision. The last one was achieved exactly on May 14, 2016, in Stockholm and the first came just one year after its debut in the European competition, in 2004 in Istanbul. On this occasion, the performance of Kalush Orchestra has been one of the most exciting of Eurovision 2022, thus achieving 631 points, of which 439 of them by the audience, the maximum awarded by the popular vote.

Oh Wonder via Josh Shinner for use by 360 Magazine

Oh Wonder – Fuck it, I Love You

Oh Wonder dropped brand new track “Fuck It, I Love You”—the second preview of upcoming album 22 Make, which will see its release on Republic Records on July 22nd and follows the beautiful single “Magnificent“. The band’s huge run of global dates begins this week and includes a homecoming show at London’s Brixton Academy on April 21st.

“Fuck It I Love You” is piano-driven pop at Oh Wonder‘s finest, a bridge in many ways between the worlds of accompanying albums 22 Make and 2021’s 22 Break. It was written way back in the summer of 2020 and represented a glimmer of hope for the couple, then in the throes of what seemed like the end of both the band and the couple’s relationship. “We clung to the demo for months, secretly hoping that we’d get to release ‘Fuck It I Love You’ in happier times. It was almost like the song was telling us that we couldn’t break up and disband because it needed to be released. It probably kept us together!” Now though, adds Josephine, “We’re struggling for a non-explicit version.”

Introduced in beguiling style by the first single “Magnificent”, 22 Make is the surprise second half of alt-pop duo Oh Wonder’s 22 Break project. Its first half dropped with little warning towards the end of 2021, unpicking a turbulent period in the band’s incredible story: here were universal themes (loneliness, inadequacy, resentment, fears for the future) as experienced by one couple in real-time, all blown up in the pandemic. Not many bands can make a break-up album that culminates in them tying the knot—but then again, Oh Wonder has never been like other bands. Coming out of 22 Break and all the soul-searching that it forced them to do, Josephine and Anthony got married and channeled all this into 22 Make: a whole new album soundtracking the light at the end of a tunnel and realizing despite everything—”fuck It, I Love You”.

“When we nearly broke up during the pandemic, we used music as a way out,” Oh Wonder writes, introducing the project in its entirety. “We wrote all our pain, sadness, and confusion into a collection of songs that we eventually released as the album 22 Break. But for us, that was only half of the story. We managed to survive our rocky patch and emerge stronger than ever and full of love for each other. It only felt right therefore, to write about the other side, where you realize not just that you’re meant for each other, but also that it also takes two people to make a love flourish. We are thrilled to be releasing ’22 Make’, an album full of love and life-affirming songs that reflect on fate, gratitude, and being there for someone.”

This transformative period continues Oh Wonder’s remarkable, homegrown success story. 2020’s acclaimed No One Else Can Wear Your Crown continued a run of back-to-back top 10 albums from the band who have—on their own distinct terms—become one of UK pop’s more unsuspecting breakthroughs (2.7 billion streams, 1.7 million adjusted album sales, and vocal fans in the likes of Billie Eilish). Oh Wonder even founded and literally built from the ground up the hugely popular Nola cafe in Peckham early on in the pandemic. Through opening up to their fans and each other, the ‘Make or Break?’ poised by 22 Break and 22 Make appears not so much a question, as an active choice—to be as honest as possible, to move forward, and to begin a brand new chapter in the story of Oh Wonder.

JAJA × The Chainsmokers

To celebrate National Margarita Day (2/22/22), JAJA is harnessing the power of twos as Grammy-winning duo and JAJA co-owners The Chainsmokers have created two new JAJA margaritas for tequila lovers to enjoy!

With this palindrome day in history, The ChainsmokersDrew Taggart and Alex Pall have each infused their own personality into a delicious, refreshing and easy-to-make margarita. Drew has chosen to make a JAJA Watermelon Lime Mashup Margarita utilizing JAJA Blanco’s ($35) subtle notes of black pepper and citrus fruit paired with ingredients including limeade, spiked seltzer and watermelon.

On the other hand, Alex selected JAJA Anejo’s ($45) full-bodied, complex tequila with notes of vanilla, almond, honey and oak to complement a cocktail with hibiscus tea, sparkling water and blood orange for the JAJA Hibiscus High Margarita.

About JAJA Tequila

JAJA Tequila is one of the fastest growing tequila brands in the United States, seeing triple-digit growth over the past two years, outpacing the premium tequila category.  Whether utilizing humor and memes in their eye-catching brand campaigns or creating unique fan experiences, JAJA is appealing to consumers who don’t take themselves too seriously but do have a sense of civic responsibility.

Each bottle of JAJA is made from 90% recycled glass and zero plastic, and pulp from the agave is composted and returned to the fields as fertilizer. In addition, JAJA has highlighted and supported different organizations such as Tequila Interchange Project, as well as a give-back program designed to help local Mexican community partnerships.
