ANNOUNCE 2023 NORTH AMERICAN HEADLINE TOUR WITH SPECIAL GUESTS

ASKING FOR A RIDE ARRIVES JANUARY 27TH

White Reaper have announced details of their new album Asking for a Ride, which will be released January 27th on Elektra Entertainment and is available for pre-order today [album art / track listing below]. The band have also shared the new song, “Pages” which is available now on all streaming platforms and joined by a Lance Bangs directed music video – watch it HERE.

Elaborating on “Pages” and Asking for a Ride, vocalist / guitarist Tony Esposito remarked, “It seems like Pages’ could’ve easily existed on one of our earlier records, it’s just a few chords and a simple melody; but because of that, I’d say that it’s pretty unique to the rest of our new album. We can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve been working on.”

Director Lance Bangs commented on the “Pages” video adding, “White Reaper are a joy to make things with, 5 guys that are good company in recording studios, house parties, live shows, and anywhere else you can spend time among them. We had a great experience shooting saturated color motion picture film on handheld cameras for the ‘Real Long Time‘ video for their previous album, and I wanted to get everyone together for an outdoor daylight look in one of my favorite architectural public spaces, the Keller Fountain in Portland Oregon. It was designed in the late 60s and opened to the public in 1970. It’s an enduring free space where people can spend time. We filmed on a bright, warm afternoon and conjured up a video that feels like the song: dynamic, catchy, genuine.”

Recorded and largely self-produced in Nashville with the help of close friend and engineer Jeremy Ferguson, Asking for a Ride finds the Louisville band taking a more direct and in-your-face approach, prioritizing the collection’s raw energy and its ability to translate live through ripping and nervy compositions. It’s White Reaper at their most exciting – dialing up the chrome-plated riffs and monster hooks – a welcome reminder of just how much fun rock music can be.

“We ask ourselves: Does it sound good when we play it in the room together?’ And if it does, those are the songs we want to pursue,” Esposito noted.

Guitarist Hunter Thompson concurred: “We started to recognize how we operate best as a band.”

The band teased additional new music from their forthcoming LP in an album trailer released earlier this week – watch it HERE.

In addition to the news of their forthcoming album, White Reaper have also revealed plans for a run of 2023 North American headline tour dates. The upcoming “Asking for a Ride” tour will feature special guests Narrow Head, Militarie Gun, Taipei Houston, and Mamalarky on select dates, and will kick off February 7th [tour itinerary below]. Pre-sale tickets for the tour are available today, with general on-sale for tickets beginning Friday, October 28th. The forthcoming dates will see White Reaper’s long awaited return to touring after having spent years living on the road, headlining and supporting some of their idols – Pearl Jam, Weezer, and The Killers – while making festival appearances at Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits and more. For tickets and more information on White Reaper’s upcoming tour dates, visit www.whitereaperusa.com.

Comprised of Tony Esposito (guitar / vocals), Ryan Hater (keyboards), Sam Wilkerson (bass), Nick Wilkerson (drums), and Hunter Thompson (guitar), Asking for a Ride follows White Reaper’s 2019 album You Deserve Love, which marked a new career peak for the Louisville band. The collection was led by the number one alternative radio hit, “Might Be Right,” which the band later made their network TV debut performing on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!. A collection of smart, sharply-written songs of doubt, dislocation, and elusive and often complicated love, The New York Times observed, “The Kentucky quintet White Reaper blends the winking gravitas of 70s arena rock with garage-y power popߪ enjoy the trip back,” while GQ applauded the release as “the perfect companion for all your nice weather fun.”Equal parts glam and grit, You Deserve Love found the band expanding on the songcraft laid down on 2017’s critically acclaimed The World’s Best American Band, which landed on Noisey‘s “100 Best Albums of 2017” and Pitchfork‘s “20 Best Rock Albums of 2017,” earning an 8.0 album score.

Johnny Mar – Spirit, Power and Soul

Johnny Marr returns with “Spirit, Power And Soul”, the first new music from his forthcoming double album, and fourth solo full-length record, titled Fever Dreams Pts 1-4. Marking Johnny’s first new music since 2019, new single “Spirit, Power And Soul” is released today. A new four track EP, Fever Dreams Pt 1 will be released October 15th via BMG. Watch the video for “Spirit, Power And Soul.”

Informed by the kind of powerful, anthemic and direct approach to words instantly present in “Spirit, Power And Soul”, the songs on the Fever Dreams Pt 1 EP arrive with an emotional potency. Fusing the language of soul music with his roots as a “Mancunian glam rocker”, lyrics that could be simultaneously personal and universal, with a high energy electro sound. The new EP reflects Marr‘s multifaceted past, but takes his music somewhere startlingly new.

Speaking about the new single, Marr says, “Spirit, Power And Soul’ is a kind of mission statement. I had an idea about an electro sound with gospel feeling, in my own words, an electro soul anthem.”

The Fever Dreams Pt 1 EP will be released digitally, and on limited edition 12″ silver vinyl via BMG from October 15th. The double album release date, and more details, are soon to be announced.

Looking to 2022, Johnny Marr was recently announced as the special guest on The Killers North American arena tour set to begin in August through to October 2022—all dates HERE.  Before that, Johnny will play a short sold out headline tour at intimate venues across the UK in September, ahead of joining The Courteeners at a sold out show at Manchester’s 50k capacity Old Trafford. The dates will mark Johnny’s return to the live stage, and first shows since performing “No Time To Die” with Billie Eilish and long-standing collaborator Hans Zimmer live at the 2019 BRIT Awards.

Marr‘s solo career has given rise to three critically acclaimed UK Top Ten albums – The Messenger (2013), Playland (2014) and 2018’s Call The Comet. His continued creative journey has seen him at the heart of The The, Electronic, Modest Mouse and The Cribs, as well as working with The Pretenders, Talking Heads, The Avalanches, and most recently Billie Eilish, recording the score and soundtrack for the forthcoming James Bond film, No Time To Die with Hans Zimmer.

THE NEW REGIME SHARES TWO LIVE VIDEOS

The New Regime, the innovative solo project of acclaimed songwriter/multi-instrumentalist and Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame member Ilan Rubin, shares two live videos off the album HEART MIND BODY & SOUL (DELUXE EDITION) which was released this past fall by The Orchard. “Turning A Blind Eye” and “Feel No Pain,” both directed by Matt Thompson, are both available now via YouTube. More videos in this series will be made available later this year.

“Turning A Blind Eye” and “Feel No Pain” showcase the more aggressive side of Heart Mind Body & Soul” says Rubin adding, “both songs have an edge rooted in discontentment with riffs that were always fun to play live. I’m proud of the combination of heaviness and melody with harmony.”

The youngest-ever living artist to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Ilan Rubin is one of modern rock’s most in-demand musicians thanks to his longtime role as drummer in both Nine Inch Nails and Angels & Airwaves. Rubin began his tenure with Nine Inch Nails in 2009 and soon proved an invaluable member of the band, serving as drummer and multi-instrumentalist on multiple tours and studio recordings through the past decade. As if that weren’t enough, in 2011 the San Diego native joined forces with Angels & Airwaves, collaborating with founder Tom DeLonge as co-writer, drummer, and multi-instrumentalist. Despite his busy schedule, Rubin somehow found time to continue his own extraordinary project, recording as The New Regime in the limited space between recording sessions and tours supporting Muse, The Killers, Alice In Chains, and The Used, to name but a few.

The New Regime’s third full-length and new LP, HEART MIND BODY & SOUL was recorded in two epic sessions at El Paso, TX’s world-famous Sonic Ranch, with all songs entirely written and performed by Rubin. Both sessions were co-produced, engineered, and mixed by Rubin’s brother (and manager) Aaron Rubin. Highlights include such wildly anthemic tracks as “It’s Gonna Be OK,” “Turning A Blind Eye,” “A Way To Feel Again,” and the euphoric title track.

Projecting pop hooks through an alternative lens with a flair for dramatic presentation, Saint Motel make music worthy of the big screen. Streamed and viewed over half-a-billion times, the platinum-selling Los Angeles quartet magnify this vision with immersive live experiences and one unpredictable move after another. The group initially came together at film school before introducing themselves on 2012’s Voyeur. Signing to Elektra Records, their 2014 My Type EP boasted both the gold-certified title track “My Type” and fan favorite “Cold Cold Man.” In 2016, saintmotelevision yielded the smash “Move.” Flipping the script once again, the musicians reimagined the record with a series of history-making first-of-their-kind innovations: an award-winning Virtual Reality version and an Augmented Reality version. In 2019, Saint Motel launched their most ambitious undertaking yet, unveiling their third full-length album in three parts. First up, they uncovered The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Pt. 1 powered by the shimmy and shake of Alternative Top 15 lead single “Van Horn.” Between packing houses coast to coast on headline jaunts and earning acclaim from People, Billboard, and more, the four-piece rolled out Pt. 2 throughout 2020. In addition to unforgettable sets everywhere from Coachella and Lollapalooza to Bonnaroo, the boys lit up shows such as NBC’s TODAY, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and CBS’ The Late Late Show with James Corden, among others.

On the single “CHOKE” and working with legendary rock producer David Bendeth (Paramore, Bring Me The Horizon, Breaking Benjamin) the band said: “CHOKE is a song about drowning in your feelings and coming to terms with them. Recording it with David Bendeth (while in quarantine!) was an incredible experience and he really worked with us to bring the song to life.”

The music video was directed by Gabo Ramos and concept was worked on in tandem meticulously with Dany, Pau, Ale, The Warning team along with the director. Surrounded by experts in every field from wardrobe, hair, makeup, art design, lighting design and underwater crew the video was shot in one day.
