Grammy artist CeeLo Green also known as the “Soul Machine” is announcing today his upcoming James Brown Tribute Tour entitled “Soul Brotha #100” with his first date this Friday April 29th, 2022 in New Orleans at the Jazz & Heritage Festival. CeeLo will be honoring the legacy and musical genius of his idol James Brown with an unbelievable 75-minute set of 27 hit songs including classics like Superbad, I Feel Good, Man’s World, Sex Machine along with Green’s hits Forget You, Crazy, Bright Lights, Fool For You and many more familiar anthems.

More than just a concert, CeeLo Green has curated an elaborate wardrobe that reflects James Brown’s true extravagant style that is similar to Green’s statement looks. Additionally, CeeLo has carefully sifted through video footage from Brown’s estate and this very special video content will be threaded throughout this musical experience that CeeLo has been working on for over a year.

The idea for the tour came to life after CeeLo started spending extended time in Augusta, GA – the home of James Brown. He was asked by Paine College, a historical black university in Augusta, to be a visiting Professor of Music and Ambassador of International Arts & Culture. CeeLo teaches a class on-campus once a month, with a personalized approach, to educate students on the music industry at large and the history of music along with other related topics. His charitable efforts and time spent at Paine and in Augusta have been recognized and celebrated by James Brown’s family. Additionally, because of his new role at Paine among other efforts, CeeLo is receiving the “Honorary Doctorate in Humanitarianism” award on May 21st by the Global International Alliance University, a non-profit organization and international consortium of university lecturers and researchers whose aim it is to provide a collaborative platform for academic research, analysis and development and to explore leading practices, best practices as well as to develop missing practices.

On June 24, Red Bull Culture Clash is coming to Los Angeles to celebrate the Latinx music diaspora across several iconic genres. It will have four crews in four stages:

The first round (and the only round without judging) will be all about warming up, so take the time to get to know each team. But the second round will be judged on the choice of song and wordiness. During the third round, the teams will exchange styles and practices and try to beat each other. If special guests are welcome at any point in the first three rounds, in the fourth, they will be required.

LOS ANGELES TOURISM KICKS OFF MEGA SPORTING EVENTS

LOS ANGELES TOURISM & CONVENTION BOARD CELEBRATES LA’S COMEBACK, KICKS OFF THE DESTINATION’S HISTORIC DECADE OF MEGA SPORTING EVENTS WITH SERIES OF EVENTS IN NEW YORK INCLUDING A LOS ANGELES-THEMED TAILGATE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

For its first client, media and consumer events since the beginning of the pandemic, Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board (Los Angeles Tourism) set its sights on New York, LA’s largest domestic visitor market. Aligned with the timing of the Rams vs. Giants game taking place at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, October 17, Los Angeles Tourism is hosting four days of activity beginning this Friday, October 15, with a preview of the Los Angeles-themed tailgate experience that is open to the public on October 16 and 17 and concluding on October 18 with an intimate luncheon for key sales clients.

Serving as a kickoff to the decade of mega sporting events LA is hosting beginning with Super Bowl LVI in February 2022, Los Angeles Tourism officials will visit with key clients and media to share information on the destination’s safe and responsible reopening and LA’s seemingly endless supply of new hotels, restaurants, venues and cultural exhibitions.

“New York is an important market for us, both in terms of leisure and group business, so when the time was right to host our first mission since the pandemic, we knew it had to be in the Big Apple,” stated Adam Burke, the President & CEO for Los Angeles Tourism. “While technology has been instrumental in keeping us connected during these challenging times, I think we can all agree there is no replacement for meeting in person. We are elated to see our industry colleagues and share all that’s new in the destination as LA continues its comeback.”

On Saturday, October 16, and Sunday, October 17, Los Angeles Tourism is hosting an “LA Tailgate,” which is open to the public, at the aptly named TailGate Outdoor Sports Bar in Brooklyn. The experience features tacos from Enrique Olvera’s new LA taqueria, Ditroit; beer and wine from LA brands Golden Road Brewing and Angeleno Wine Co.; LA trivia hosted by dumbfoundead; major trip giveaways including round-trip air transportation to LA courtesy of American Airlines; and a limited-edition merch drop from LA Tourism x Obey Clothing by House Industries and Studio Number One.

Toys for Tots Literacy Program

Toys for Tots® Literacy Program Provides almost 500,000 Books to Title 1 Funded Schools Supported by The UPS Store® network! 

The Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program, through the Toys for Tots Literacy Program supported by The UPS Store network, provided almost 500,000 books directly to schools receiving Title I funding. With the outstanding assistance of the National Association of ESEA State Program Administrators (NAESPA), administrators and teachers at Title I schools across the nation requested books for their students. These books were provided free to the schools due to charitable donations from The UPS Store network as well as the generosity of the American public.

There are 976 schools in 15 states currently receiving 492,839 books. These books primarily focus on subjects that provide children with the tools necessary to be successful throughout their lives. Books emphasizing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math), as well as titles that provide both entertainment and enrichment, will be welcoming students back-to-school this year!

As background, the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, with our long-time ally The UPS Store, Inc., launched the Toys for Tots Literacy Program in 2008, a year-round initiative to support less fortunate children across our nation’s communities. The program offers the nation’s most economically disadvantaged children the ability to compete academically and to succeed in life by providing them direct access to books and educational resources that enhance their ability to read and communicate effectively. This program not only brings the joy of reading to these children, but also serves as an important tool in breaking the cycle of poverty. Since its inception, the generosity of the 5,000 The UPS Store locations and their communities have contributed over $7.5 million and assisted Toys for Tots in distributing over 44 million books.

This last weekend Los Bukis kicked off their highly anticipated Una Historia Cantada Tour to keep writing their history in gold letters and setting themselves up for musical immortality.

The appointment was at 8 pm for the two-day concerts, where thousands of attendees gathered to see Marco Antonio Solís, José Javier Solís, Joel Solís, Roberto Guadarrama, Eusebio El Chivo Cortéz and Pedro Sánchez reunite on the stage. The stadium thundered as the audience sang along hits such as Tu Cárcel, Mi Fantasía and Y Ahora Te Vas at the top of their lungs, embarking on a trip into melancholy, love and memories with these and many more songs that are hailed as Latin music classics.

People at the venue drove miles –some even traveled from many parts of the country and abroad– to watch the legendary band perform music that has passed from generation to generation and bring families together for this historic event.

More than 90 minutes on stage to tell relatable, crowd-pleasing stories and bring generations and nations together through the universal language of music. This certainly was an explosive starting signal for a tour that has started to be written in gold in music history books.

Una historia cantada continues next at Chicago’s Soldier Field on September 4th & 5th. On September 10th and 11th, Marco Antonio will perform at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas alongside special guests to celebrate the National Holidays and will then re-join the tour for performances at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on September 15th and Houston’s NRG Stadium on September 18th. The band has already added more dates at San Antonio’s Alamodome (September 25th) and Oakland’s RingCentral Coliseum (October 1st and 2nd.)

Fresh off the release of his EP, An Unlikely Origin Story, Elektra Records artist Livingston has debuted new single Message In A Bottle. The track is available now on all streaming platforms.

Livingston elaborated on the single, adding, There are times when I waste so much potential thinking about what could have been, what I could have changed, what I would have said differently. I wanted to write a song about what it would feel like to let that go, to say one statement of closure and make peace with the change.

Earlier this summer, Livingston shared new EP An Unlikely Origin Story and made his live performance debut, supporting Fitz and the Tantrums on select dates. The EP was heralded by singles The Giver, Hercules, and Superkid. Hercules, a song about fearing change and embracing vulnerability, was co-produced by Jorgen Odegard (Justin Bieber, Yungblud, Quinn XCII, Imagine Dragons) and co-written by Odegard and Chloe George. The track followed December single Superkid, which is accompanied by a powerful visual written and directed by Livingston himself.
