CeeLo Green tour announcement via 360 MAGAZINE

CeeLo Green Tour

Grammy artist CeeLo Green also known as the “Soul Machine” is announcing today his upcoming James Brown Tribute Tour entitled “Soul Brotha #100” with his first date this Friday April 29th, 2022 in New Orleans at the Jazz & Heritage Festival. CeeLo will be honoring the legacy and musical genius of his idol James Brown with an unbelievable 75-minute set of 27 hit songs including classics like Superbad, I Feel Good, Man’s World, Sex Machine along with Green’s hits Forget You, Crazy, Bright Lights, Fool For You and many more familiar anthems.

“I’ve always felt deeply connected to James Brown on a musical level and beyond – He’s been a mentor, teacher and literally a godfather to me throughout my career and I remain humble as I embark upon this embodiment. I’ve been studying the era to perfect the show and also James Brown’s archive to make this moment authentic, and a real dedication to what he gave to us and every generation that follows. Together, let’s turn this into the ultimate experience and celebration of James Brown and real music all over,” states CeeLo Green.

More than just a concert, CeeLo Green has curated an elaborate wardrobe that reflects James Brown’s true extravagant style that is similar to Green’s statement looks. Additionally, CeeLo has carefully sifted through video footage from Brown’s estate and this very special video content will be threaded throughout this musical experience that CeeLo has been working on for over a year.

The idea for the tour came to life after CeeLo started spending extended time in Augusta, GA – the home of James Brown. He was asked by Paine College, a historical black university in Augusta, to be a visiting Professor of Music and Ambassador of International Arts & Culture. CeeLo teaches a class on-campus once a month, with a personalized approach, to educate students on the music industry at large and the history of music along with other related topics. His charitable efforts and time spent at Paine and in Augusta have been recognized and celebrated by James Brown’s family. Additionally, because of his new role at Paine among other efforts, CeeLo is receiving the “Honorary Doctorate in Humanitarianism” award on May 21st by the Global International Alliance University, a non-profit organization and international consortium of university lecturers and researchers whose aim it is to provide a collaborative platform for academic research, analysis and development and to explore leading practices, best practices as well as to develop missing practices.

Sheri Miller for use by 360 Magazine

INTERVIEW WITH SHERI MILLER

Singer-songwriter Sheri Miller releases her new single “Born To Love,” a tender, instant classic from her 6-song collection, Waking Up To This Miracle Life, out November 19. Recorded with GRAMMY-winning producer Jeff Bova, Miller’s timeless collection is at once ecstatic and incisive, brimming with joy even as it reckons with struggle and heartache.

The songs here are radical acts of self-love and empowerment fueled by raw emotion and explosive energy, and Miller’s mesmerizing performances are utterly transcendent to match, her voice shifting from hushed intimacy to soaring grandeur with the preternatural ease of Ann Wilson or Brandi Carlile. Add it all up and you’ve got a rich, cinematic masterpiece about embracing the beauty and magic of being alive, a celebratory ode to love itself from an artist who passionately lives to create. I got the opportunity to speak with Sheri Miller about her upcoming EP.

  1. What inspired this album?

When writing this record, ‘Waking Up To This Miracle Life,’ I felt inspired how it’s a miracle to be alive; especially at this time. To wake up every morning with a heart beating of its own independent accord, lungs breathing oxygen without us turning on a power switch, seeing beautiful blue skies with our open eyes, smelling delicious fragrances of trees, roses, jasmine, freshly-baked soft chocolate chip cookies, hearing glorious notes resounding from orchestras, brass bands or finely crafted pianos, guitars, drums, listening to golden-throated voices, touching luxurious silk fabrics, and feeling magnificent emotions of love, appreciation, happiness, fun, exhilaration!

How being alive in our physical bodies is such a gift; what an extraordinary miracle we have our genius cells working symbiotically in mysterious harmony. Though I don’t understand electricity or the miracle of being born, I’m glad to be here! This record celebrates life passionately. Especially after pandemic, it feels so good to focus on the magnificence of being alive. We did it! We made it. How blessed and lucky we are. No matter what struggles you’ve gone through (we all have), there’s always hope, fun, and even joy waiting closely; You’re never alone. If you believe in yourself, trusting there’s unseen help available to us- closed doors open, our timing gets good, and avalanches of beautiful opportunities flow like rivers into our experience. Your tiny extra bit of optimism cracks the door open to success, love, and more of your dreams realized. I choose to keep waking up to this miracle life.

  1. When did you start making music?

I started making music at eight, taking classical piano lessons with a strict teacher. My free, wild, creative spirit rebelled against the boring confines of practicing already written music, when I wanted to compose and paint new melodies, paired with new words and lyrics, creating new musical paintings. So, I spent much of my practice time composing dozens of new songs, pouring out complete melodies, lyrics, chords. Anthems about rocking the nation, songs about eternal, everlasting, pure love and world peace, love songs to my mother, and “The Lost Tribe,” a song about a wandering tribe in the desert, buffalo and surviving. I still have these handwritten 8-year-old songbooks, and I’ve written hundreds of songs since age 8. I consider myself a ‘music lifer,’ writing songs and performing for the sheer feeling of joy and pleasure; as I evolve as a human, so does my music, songs, and art. I am my best masterpiece.

  1. Who are your musical inspirations?

My musical inspirations started with my mom, who’s a magnificent opera singer, classical pianist, composer, and storyteller. I love the Beatles, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Joni Mitchell, Ray Charles, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Stevie Wonder, Carole King, Paul Simon, Rodger & Hart, Duke Ellington, Beach Boys, Rickie Lee Jones, Bob Dylan, Coldplay, Mozart, Tchaichovsky, Piazolla, Alicia Keys, India.Arie, Prince, Queen, Freddy Mercury, Tom Petty, Bob Marley, James Brown, Gershwins, Rumi, and brilliant musicians I work with Jeff Bova, Kate Baker, Will Lee, Tim Pierce, Chris Lord-Alge, Frank Filipetti, Joe Zook, Dave Eggar, Paul Shaffer, Steve Cropper. There are endless musicians who inspire me, flowing through every time I create. I appreciate all who’ve come before, paving this golden trail of delights.

  1. Did any of these musical influences specifically inspire this album?

Writing “Gold Hearted Man” on my big acoustic-electric 1969 sunburst Guild hollow body guitar, I felt the presence of blues legend John Lee Hooker. It almost felt like he was guiding my hands and heart to new undiscovered places within me, creating a song ship sailing to unchartered territories in my musical landscape. There are traces of Joni Mitchell in “Empty Sky” and hints of the Beatles in “Everybody Feels This Way Sometimes.” Honestly, I believe every note, sound, visual, smell, every idea that’s ever touched us, is interwoven into the gorgeous colorful, rainbow fabric quilt of art, we create.

  1. What made you decide to become a singer songwriter?

I never made a conscious decision to ‘become’ a singer-songwriter. Thank God, for me it was a natural, easy, gradual, ‘gentle push’ of spirit; my soul led me to this choice. It chose me, I chose it, I decided to answer the calling. I believe we are all called to something, and it’s never too late, no matter what age, circumstances, to answer this calling, following your bliss. My story is magical, powerful synchronicity at work. While in college, I was secretly writing lyrics in my bedroom and taking jazz piano lessons 20 minutes away. I started receiving the thought ‘wouldn’t it be nice to have a little keyboard in my bedroom, so I could write songs easily? I can’t fit a piano, I don’t have lots of money, wouldn’t a little keyboard be nice?’

I started dreaming up this idea for months, until it exploded vividly one Sunday morning. I woke up in a surreal, groggy state, having passionately dreamt of owning a little Casio keyboard the night before. Instead of walking to the library, taking the faster, straight-shot city street path, I felt magnetically drawn, with a strong impulse, to take the longer, beautiful, winding path across campus. While on this scenic route, I passed a one-day church sale, selling the exact Casio keyboard I dreamt the night before!  It was $20, and ecstatic by this little miracle, I began joyfully composing songs in my bedroom on this Casio keyboard. It felt like my soul gave me the gentlest, loving push and wink, to trust myself; sometimes the longer, winding path has magic. Faster isn’t always more rewarding or satisfying. From that day forward, I’ve been composing and performing. The Casio keyboard manifesting was a tiny miracle of magic. Miracles exist everywhere, if you choose to open your eyes, and allow yourself to dream.

  1. Are there any special moments you’d like to share while making this EP?

For “Gold Hearted Man” basking in the afterglow of a soulful kiss, inspiration poured through me, and I composed this song in a hurricane flood of emotion. Initially I felt uncomfortable channeling this sensuality in the studio, but when the recording light blinked, BOOM, we cut vocals lightning speed. I’m proud of how we captured the passionate feeling in this recording.

For “Born To Love,” Day 1, I thought we had the “perfect” vocal after comping. The next day, after singing for 5 hours, the producer asked me to sing one last take. I said “sure” to humor him, though thinking “there’s no way we can use it, I’m too tired.” So I let go, singing effortlessly, easily, naturally, without trying. I got out of my own way, allowing the song to speak, my soul to speak. When I opened my eyes, thinking everyone would say it’s a throwaway vocal, instead they said “that was a Grammy-Award winning performance!” Stunned, I listened back, and realized MAGIC HAD FLOWED, when I surrendered, letting go of getting an “amazing vocal.” This live vocal became our “final vocal.” I learned sometimes “magic” is better than “perfect.” I trust the magic now.

  1. Is there a specific flow/genre to this EP that you’d like the audience to follow?

However your heart and soul calls you to listen. Follow your instincts.

  1. If you had to describe the “story of this release” in one paragraph, what would you say?

“Luminous, passionate, triumphant, love-filled collection of artistic songs inspires the hearts, connects with the souls of many, to remember and awaken to the brilliant, magnificent miracles in their own lives.”

  1. What’s next for you?

I’m thrilled with the new, inspired songs I’ve been composing and writing. I have endless new records in me, and I am happily, eagerly anticipating recording the new songs, and performing them. What’s next? More fun. More joy. More treasure chests of glittering new songs. More inspired new records. More exhilarating live performances. More artistic discoveries of wonder. More magnificent miracles revealing themselves, as we keep waking up to this miracle life.

Willow Kayne from Derek Sherron, Epic Records for use by 360 Magazine

Willow Kayne shares high-energy single – I Don’t Wanna Know

Please meet UK pop provocateur Willow Kayne, who has shared her new single “I Don’t Wanna Know” today. Listen here at all DSPs.

After releasing a slew of independent singles, Willow signed with Sony this year and released her major label debut single “2 Seater” just a few months back to buzz and acclaim, even receiving early love from BBC Radio 1. Now, the 19 year old is throwing her hat in the ring as one of the most vivid, genre-blurring pop provocateurs in music today. A keen visual artist with influences as far-reaching as fashion design giant Nigo and production mastermind Pharrell, she pools together the most lucid touchpoints of all her inspirations to build a sound as diverse as her creative palette. Willow can trace this eclecticism directly back to her childhood, being raised by a hip-hop and house-obsessed father and a mother who produced videos for the likes of Erasure and the Prodigy. James Brown, Nas, and MF DOOM were all significant early influences, and soon she was making her own musical discoveries, falling hard for artists as diverse as Tyler The Creator, the Sex Pistols, Gorillaz, and Portishead.

Teaming up with UK hitmaker Oscar Scheller, “I Don’t Wanna Know” takes all of the attitude Willow has started to become synonymous with and ramps it up to 11 – taking cues from the old school rave culture that she is obsessed with by sticking a middle finger up to trolls over a drum & bass indebted production. It’s a high energy example of just how unpredictable a talent Willow is, and how easy she makes it look; the track is packed with hilarious one-liners that cut those who have bullied her online to size. An empowering anthem that deals with real life issues with a sense of confidence that feels refreshing in the landscape of pop today. The official video, along with a debut project and a HUGE announcement are all coming soon…

Nicole Salazar illustrates the Lexus LC 500 for 360 Magazine

A Lesson in Style

By Elle Grant × Vaughn Lowery

For those interested in upgrading their wheels, look no further than investing in the 2021 Lexus LC 500 Convertible for the ultimate combination of style, speed, design, and performance. The fastback option, executed in a manner of seconds and with the press of a button, makes it the perfect vehicle to be adaptable to all seasons. 360 Magazine had the opportunity to take this car for a luxurious test ride to Terranea Resort in California, cruising in opulence along coastal bluffs and natural beauty. For a picturesque beach day, with the top down, our own Vaughn Lowery and Anthony Sovinsky were able to fully embrace both the precision and fun of the LC 500. With the sun shining, roof down, and the open California road, it proved an unforgettable experience.

Design

Traditional to the quality expected of the timeless Japanese brand, the interior of the vehicle reflects clean craftsmanship all around. With the retractable hardtop, the car is still sleek and elegant. With the notchback down, it becomes even more sporty and chic, perfect for driving on a day with nice weather.

The interior is rendered for an all-around lavish adventure featuring a drape-like surface design and ambient illumination on the door panels. The enduring style of an all-black leather-trimmed interior feels straight out of movie, perhaps similar to the high-tech world of Black Panther, as this vehicle was featured in the film. With the Touring Package, the LC 500 is upgraded beyond imagination including a heated, leather-trimmed steering wheel and embossed headrests.

Technology

The Lexus LC 500 Convertible is infused with all the latest technology, promising nothing less than an utterly advanced ride. A navigation system paired with a 10.3-inch-high resolution split screen ensures you will always get where you need to go, especially paired with the new dynamic navigation system which is complimentary for up to three years. The 8-inch LCD TFT multi-information display compounds the user experience for a state-of-the-art drive. The steering wheel offers integrated cruise control buttons and magnesium paddle shifters, the drive mode select knob is located near the multi-information display, and two USB ports as well as a 12V socket offer convenience. Siri Eyes Free and a SmartAccess keyless entry with a push button start pledge a simplified but elevated driving encounter. Surround Mark Levinson 13-speaker, 915-watt Reference Surround Sound Audio System encourages to turn up your music and drive along to the soundtrack of your own life.

The star attraction to the LC 500 Convertible is in the name, as this ride is a top of the line droptop. It is sure to turn heads and its curb appeal is unparalleled. In just fifteen seconds, the drophead can collapse, even while the vehicle is in motion (up to 31 mph). It proved to be one of the most enjoyable cloth drop tops besides the Jaguar F-Type R.

Performance

“Sports Plus mode allows you to feel how precise and well quipped the model is,” said President of 360 Magazine, Vaughn Lowery. Said testimonial is in tune with the model’s design and execution of an all-star vehicle.

The engine is a 5.0-liter V8 with aluminum blocks and cylinder heads, DOHC, 32-valve, Dual VVT-i while the transmission features the aforementioned 10-speed sport direct shift automatic with paddle shift and manual mode. The customizable aspects certify adaptation to any driver and any terrain assures performance in any scenario. The fuel economy is estimated at 15/25/18 EPA making it a more effective version than in previous years. She also features 15 city/ 25 highway miles per gallon. Beyond this, the Lexus LC 500 features a horsepower of 471 hp and 398 lb-ft torque. Both work to assure whoever is in the driver’s seat feels the full speed, power, and control of the LC 500.

Safety

The LC 500 comes with all the safety one would expect of a Lexus vehicle. For instance, the vehicle is equipped with the Lexus Safety System + as a standard feature. Furthermore, the LC 500 is well-equipped with air bags in various spots within the vehicle, ensuring the most secure journey possible. It is equipped for almost all terrains and conditions, ensuring wherever you are on the globe, the LC 500 can be a fit for you.

Driving, especially in areas like Los Angeles dense with traffic, can come with complications. The LC 500 works to ensure that accidents are a thing of the past. With features like pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, cruise control, lane keep assist, and standard blind spot monitors, it works to keep both you and pedestrians safe as possible. Style doesn’t sacrifice safety, and the LC 500 provides the opportune combination of prudence and sophistication.

Ergonomics

The combination of all the aspects of the Lexus LC 500 provides an overall driving experience that is one to remember. The comfort and effectiveness of the driver is always in mind. An adjustable steering wheel customizes the car’s drive to each individual consumer. Features that are standards of lavish driving are of course included, including temperature-controlled seating and reclination abilities. Even those living the high-life may be besieged by allergy season, but the LC 500 features a deodorizing and dust/pollen-removing interior air filter to certify you’re breathing clean.

At first glance, it appears that the backseats of the LC 500 are nonexistent, but for a beach day they worked perfectly. Their companions, around a height of 5’4, were able to fit comfortably for the ride. There is also the common misconception that trunk space in typical ragtop sports cars is abysmal, but the LC 500 proves otherwise. Lowery, Sovinksy, alongside of their counterparts were able to fit all the essentials for a beach day, top down: a beach umbrella, tent, towels, and three backpacks loaded with snacks. Storage, in the case of the LC 500, is not a sacrifice.

Legacy

Few automobiles have the opportunity to truly make an impact beyond the auto-world, but the LC 500 will be one remembered beyond 2020. Iconic actor Chadwick Boseman, who died earlier this year after a several yearlong battle with colon cancer, drove this particularly convertible. In his revolutionary film Black Panther, where Boseman starred as the titular character T’Challa, a version of the LC 500 was tricked out for the movie’s most exhilarating chase sequence, filmed in South Korea. Boseman’s incredible charisma, the scenery of South Korea, and the excellence of this blue version of the vehicle all came together for a sublime cinematic experience.

Though he is best known for his work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Boseman was an accomplished actor in a variety of genres. Not only did he play the first black superhero on the super-stage that is the world of Marvel films, but he has played historical black icons such as Jackie Robinson, James Brown, and Thurgood Marshall. He is indeed a role model for all. His final film, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, has received major buzz and will be released posthumously. Boseman is survived by his family including his wife, Taylor Simone Ledward. Chadwick Boseman and his terrific accomplishments demonstrate that the LC 500 is a car fit for a genuine hero.

In sum, the Lexus LC 500 Convertible is the perfect choice for those who are driven and enjoy driving; one who appreciates the finer things in life, an impeccable performance, and a classic style need look no further for their next car purchase. Perfect for any season, and at an estimated price of $112,000 this vehicle makes for a year-round luxurious experience. Its technology affirms it to be one of the best vehicles of its kind. Be bold and make a statement with the Lexus LC 500 Convertible.
