BABYJAKE ALBUM ART THE SUN WAKES UP EARLIER NOW, Nicole Hajjar, Republic Records Media

BABYJAKE – THE SUN WAKES UP EARLIER NOW

Singer, songwriter, and producer BabyJake announces his highly anticipated debut album, The Sun Wakes Up Earlier Now, is set for release on September 3rd—pre-order the album now here. To celebrate the announcement, the Gold-Certified artist releases his latest song from the album, “Watching” – listen here.

On The Sun Wakes Up Earlier Now, the Florida-born and Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, and producer promises he’s “bringing back rock ‘n’ roll”. However, this isn’t your parents’ rock ‘n’ roll, it’s got all of the style, swagger, and spirit of the seventies, but it’s lit up by a fresh fire. The 11-track genre-blurring album was recorded over the past year and a half in Los Angeles, and BabyJake co-wrote and co-produced the songs with various collaborators, including Bipolar Sunshine, Lizzy McAlpine, and Linda Perry, to name a few.

On the The Sun Wakes Up Earlier Now, BabyJake says, “For me, the album represents crossing into a world of not giving a fuck what anybody thinks and showing I’m a human being. I’m going to dress how I want to dress, act how I want to act, and make what I want to make. If it works, great. Either way, I’m going to keep trucking along.”

To commemorate the release, BabyJake will perform his first-ever headlining shows next month in New York at Baby’s All Right on September 9th and Los Angeles at Moroccan Lounge on September 15th. Not to mention, he will also perform at select festivals this fall, including Napa Valley’s BottleRock on September 3rd and Tampa’s Gasparilla on October 1st. Tickets are on-sale now at It’s Baby Jake.

Earlier this summer, BabyJake released a handful of singles from the album, including “Do I Fit In Your Shoes?”, “Funny Thing About Love” with Bipolar Sunshine, and “Daddy’s Coming Home,” which have been praised by Billboard, V Magazine, TMRW Magazine, American Songwriter, and many more.

The Sun Wakes Up Earlier Now follows BabyJake’s 2020 debut EP Don’t give me problems, give me wine, hailed by critics and fans alike. The seven-song genre-bending EP features his breakout single “Head In The Clouds” and was acclaimed by Notion, The Line Of Best Fit, Ones To Watch, This Song Is Sick, Lyrical Lemonade, and more. Wonderland stated, “Few artists are able to bounce so seamlessly from genre to genre than BabyJake,” while Flaunt proclaimed, “BabyJake is on his way to superstardom.” Earlier this year, BabyJake teamed up with Louis The Child on “Somewhere Else.”

About Babyjake
BabyJake promises he’s “bringing back rock ‘n’ roll”. However, this isn’t your parents’ rock ‘n’ roll. It’s got all of the style, swagger, and spirit of the seventies, but it’s lit up by a fresh fire. The Florida-born and Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, and producer exudes enough star power to pull off a cowboy hat and flare jeans (like some kind of lovable Quentin Tarantino outlaw), but he’s also definitely a byproduct of the times with a natural predilection for viral impact. In 2019, he introduced himself with the gold-selling “Cigarettes on Patios,” crashing viral charts and piling up 100 million-plus streams. During 2020, he remained prolific with his debut EP, Don’t give me problems, give me wine. In its wake, Flaunt predicted, “BabyJake is on his way to superstardom,” while he earned acclaim from Billboard, Wonderland, V Magazine, Notion, TMRW Magazine, American Songwriter, The Line Of Best Fit, Ones To Watch, This Song Is Sick, and Lyrical Lemonade, to name a few. Along the way, he collaborated with everyone from 24kgoldn to Dillon Francis and Louis The Child. Now, he fulfills his mission on his 2021 full-length debut album, The Sun Wakes Up Earlier Now [SB Projects/Republic Records], out September 3rd.

Willow Kayne shares high-energy single – I Don’t Wanna Know

Please meet UK pop provocateur Willow Kayne, who has shared her new single “I Don’t Wanna Know” today. Listen here at all DSPs.

After releasing a slew of independent singles, Willow signed with Sony this year and released her major label debut single “2 Seater” just a few months back to buzz and acclaim, even receiving early love from BBC Radio 1. Now, the 19 year old is throwing her hat in the ring as one of the most vivid, genre-blurring pop provocateurs in music today. A keen visual artist with influences as far-reaching as fashion design giant Nigo and production mastermind Pharrell, she pools together the most lucid touchpoints of all her inspirations to build a sound as diverse as her creative palette. Willow can trace this eclecticism directly back to her childhood, being raised by a hip-hop and house-obsessed father and a mother who produced videos for the likes of Erasure and the Prodigy. James Brown, Nas, and MF DOOM were all significant early influences, and soon she was making her own musical discoveries, falling hard for artists as diverse as Tyler The Creator, the Sex Pistols, Gorillaz, and Portishead.

Teaming up with UK hitmaker Oscar Scheller, “I Don’t Wanna Know” takes all of the attitude Willow has started to become synonymous with and ramps it up to 11 – taking cues from the old school rave culture that she is obsessed with by sticking a middle finger up to trolls over a drum & bass indebted production. It’s a high energy example of just how unpredictable a talent Willow is, and how easy she makes it look; the track is packed with hilarious one-liners that cut those who have bullied her online to size. An empowering anthem that deals with real life issues with a sense of confidence that feels refreshing in the landscape of pop today. The official video, along with a debut project and a HUGE announcement are all coming soon…

“…a future star…” – i-D Magazine

“…playful lyricism, smooth refrains, and ‘90s-indebted grooves.” – NME

“…the artists that stick out from the pack are always those who are willing to switch things up, and quite clearly, Kayne isn’t afraid to do so…” – Lyrical Lemonade

“The Gen Z talent links together huge opposing forces, creating her own potent brand of rebel-pop.” – Clash Magazine

“A sizzling rallying-call from the Bristol-based artist all about living your own life and doing your own thing, ‘Two Seater’ blends rap verses with 90s-tinged pop influences, resulting in an instantly catchy debut.” – DIY Magazine

BabyJake – Don’t give me problems, give me wine

Today, singer, songwriter BabyJake drops his highly-anticipated debut EP, Don’t give me problems, give me wine—listen HERE! The seven-song genre-blurring EP includes his latest single, “Head In The Clouds,” out now.

Don’t give me problems, give me wine jumps from exuberant pop to moody sunset-slicked folk. The EP features BabyJake’s breakout songs, “Confidant,” “Blue Cellophane” and “MadHappySad,” alongside four new tracks, “Head In The Clouds,” “(Consumption)(Addiction),” “Bread & Butter” and “Anywhere,” which are each accompanied by unique and compelling visuals shot by Alex Hall.

Of the EP, BabyJake says, “‘Don’t give me problems, give me wine’ is a special project for me. It’s the first time in my life I’ve really felt like the songs all make sense and have a genuine feeling. It took me awhile to figure out who I was as an artist, and this project fully embodies that,”

This past spring, BabyJake teamed up with Dillon Francis on his tracks, “You Do You” and “Touch,” which Billboard Dance praised, saying, “Florida vocalist BabyJake delivers the track’s smooth-as-silk vocals over Francis’ slinky production.” The singer, songwriter capped off 2019 with over 25 million streams across his first three singles and live performances of “Blue Cellophane” and “239” for Vevo DSCVR’s ‘Artist to Watch’ 2020 campaign, which he was 1 of 20 emerging artists selected.
