GWEN STEFANI “LET ME REINTRODUCE MYSELF”

Global superstar Gwen Stefani releases her new reggae-tinged single “Let Me Reintroduce Myself” today on Interscope Records. With the release, Stefani is featured on New Music Daily on Apple Music. “Let Me Reintroduce Myself” is available now at all digital retailers.  Watch the lyric video for “Let Me Reintroduce Myself” HERE.

Stefani will debut the single with a performance on tonight’s episode of The Voice, airing at 8 pm ET/7 pm CT, where she is now in her fifth season as a coach on NBC’s four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series.

Recorded in quarantine and co-written with relentless hitmaker Ross Golan alongside rising songwriter/producer Luke Niccoli, the single finds Stefani reminding fans of what she does best: create vibrant, uplifting music that is real and honest to who she is as an artist.

“This song is a way of saying I’m back with new music. It’s a fun, lighthearted song because I got inspired and hope to bring a little bit of joy, said Stefani. “The idea was to write a song that had a bit of a nostalgic feeling to it, so I think musically it reminds you of back in the day, going back to where I started musically which was with ska and reggae. I’m still the same me but here’s something a little bit new in case you feel like hearing a little bit more of me.”

Musically, “Let Me Reintroduce Myself” is a full-circle moment, with an instrumental that nods to her roots with the ska-punk band No Doubt. Bass-heavy beats and breezy acoustic guitars course under and around her laid-back vocals, as Stefani confidently asserts her space in the modern musical universe: “In case you forgot—no, I’m not records on your shelf.” The single also offers a sly callback: “I already gave you bananas,” she sings playfully, nodding to the cheerleader chant on her 2005 Pharrell Williams-produced No. 1 hit, “Hollaback Girl.”

“Let Me Reintroduce Myself” caps off a busy year for Stefani. She had two top 10 hits on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart with fiancé Blake Shelton, “Nobody But You” and “Happy Anywhere.” And her holiday album, You Make It Feel Like Christmas, was just reissued with two new songs, including Ryan Tedder co-write “Here This Christmas.”

A three-time GRAMMY® Award winner, Stefani, has achieved global success as, among other accomplishments, a performer, songwriter, frontwoman for ska-punk heroes No Doubt, and multi-platinum solo artist. To date, she’s sold more than 50 million units worldwide. Her 2015 solo album, This Is What the Truth Feels Like, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. If 2020 is any indication, listeners should keep an eye out for more from Stefani soon.

Paris Jackson’s Late-Night Debut

Paris Jackson made her late-night television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! performing “let down” from her debut album wilted. This eleven-song album was released via Republic Records in early November. Upon its release, wilted received widespread critical acclaim and climbed to #1 on the iTunes US Alternative Albums Chart. Filmed at the world-famous Viper Room on the Sunset Strip, the performance illuminates the nuances of her presence and understated, yet palpable star-power.

Jackson has gained amazing reviews from a variety of publications. Rolling Stone labeled Jackson’s music as “well-crafted indie-pop,” while People said “Paris Jackson is blazing her own path in the music industry.” While talking about her album, wilted, the New York Post said, “There is a dreamy wooziness, a sultry torchiness, a haunting moodiness to ‘wilted’…”

While Paris hails from one of the most successful families in music history, she is best known for her activism, acting & modeling work, the latter of which has seen her front campaigns for international brands like Calvin Klein, grace the cover of top fashion magazines, including numerous Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar titles, and make her runway debut earlier this year at Jean-Paul Gaultier’s final show.

On the acting front, Paris has taken on several TV and film roles, collaborating with acclaimed industry professionals, including Lee Daniels, Charlize Theron, Joel Edgerton, and Rachel Winters. Aside from music, Paris’ biggest passion has always been in using her platform to shine light on causes important to her, notably going off script while presenting at the Grammy Awards and MTV VMAs, to highlight the Dakota Access Pipeline and events of racial injustice in Charlottesville, respectively.

Paris also serves as an Ambassador for the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation (ETAF) and is passionate about continuing her godmother’s legacy of ridding the stigma and finding a cure for the HIV/AIDS pandemic.

Peter Manos makes a brief appearance in 360 MAGAZINE

Peter Manos Performance

Peter Manos releases incredible live performance video, Do You Turn Red? (Short Film). Peter’s debut EP, Do You Turn Red?, was just released earlier this month to critical acclaim including The New York Times, Wonderland, FLAUNT Magazine and more. His debut single “In My Head” has 300+ million streams and was named a ‘Song You Need To Know’ by Rolling Stone.

The six songs were shot in different outdoor settings around Lancaster, CA – a town located 70 miles north of downtown Los Angeles in the Antelope Valley region of the western Mojave Desert. While bisected by a freeway, the area still abounds with rugged, open spaces. Over the decades, it has drawn a long succession of fearless dreamers – from Southern Pacific railroad workers to gold and borax miners to flight test pilots like Chuck Yaeger, Space Shuttle crews and solar energy pioneers.

James Bay – Live Performance

In Case You Missed It: JAMES BAY // Live In London

Watch the performance HERE

Today, James Bay performed a 45 minute set on YouTube in support of #SaveOurVenues. During the performance Bay performed some fan favorite songs, three new songs (including his new single “Chew On My Heart”), and even a surprise Whitney Houston cover of “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”!

The performance included a donation link in support #SaveOurVenues – the UK crowd fundraiser started to protect UK grassroots music venues at risk for permanent closure due to COVID-19.The donation link will be live until July 20th.

Born in Hitchin and having extensively toured venues on the UK music scene whilst building his career, this is a cause which is extremely close to James’ heart. On his motivation to support the cause, James says: “Big or small, spending time honing your craft and performing in venues is vital on the journey to becoming a successful touring and recording artist. We must never live in a world where live music venues don’t exist. They are as important for the artist as they are for the countless visitors and of course the dedicated staff that devote themselves to running those rooms like clockwork. Venues offer a joy, an escape and a magic you just don’t experience through a screen or even through a stereo speaker. At all costs, we must save our venues.

Stray Kids, The First Take, 360 Magazine

The First Take × Stray Kids

“The First Take,” an original series from The First Take YouTube channel dedicated to filming performances by musicians and singers in a single take, has made a special comeback to present a performance by the popular K-pop group Stray Kids for their 43rd episode.

Stray Kids, who made their Japanese debut this year, filmed and recorded this episode remotely in Korea, a very first for The First Take. The song performed by Stray Kids, “SLUMP – Japanese ver. – ,” is the ending theme to the animated television series Kami No Tou – Tower Of God. It touches upon the theme of trials and tribulations, inspired by vocalist Han’s personal experiences.

Bang Chan of Stray Kids commented “We’re very honored to have been selected to perform on the comeback special. I was initially a little nervous when I heard we were to be filmed singing live in one take from start to finish but I really started to enjoy myself as I got into the song. I feel as though this new experience has helped us take another positive step forward. It’s also made us want to work harder than ever at our art and we hope to show our strengths to a great number of people in the future to come. We hope our live performance video on The First Take will give people encouragement and the motivation to uplift themselves.”

360 Magazine reached out to The First Take’s team to learn more about the channel.

In a nutshell, what is The First Take about?

A YouTube channel that began in November 2019. With the concept, “What is ‘Music’? — approaching music with just one take,” the artists record their songs in one take, with high-quality sound and image. Right now, due to the COVID-19 situation, the artists are recording at home and private studios under the title  “The Home Take.” Even in a limited environment, the quality of the contents is maintained.

What inspired the creation of The First Take?

It took a long time for us to decide what kind of image we wanted, the direction that we have now. But along the line, we came across the idea of “having pressure like a fashion show.” This became our keywords. In a really simple setting, not only the performance but from the appearance to some talk after the show… We thought this was really cool. We knew from there that the setting had to be all white, being extremely minimal.

What kind of artists do you hope to have on The First Take?

A professional, who could do one-take performance in high-quality sound and visual. This is the key to differentiate us from all other YouTube channels.

Who do you hope to have on the show in the future?

We know that 30% of our viewers are from overseas, so we are hoping to book more diverse and international artists to appear on our channel. We hope to develop more globally in the coming days.

How can fans access the show?

We wanted to create content that cannot be done on terrestrial channels; music and visual contents that are unique to YouTube. There are various platforms on the web, but YouTube is really active at this moment. Hereon, streaming music will be the mainstream of music business. We wanted to create a YouTube channel that can reach out directly to the audience, where we can introduce great songs and artists, in a way that’s different from a TV music program.

When we recorded “Neko” by Takumi Kitamura of the DISH//, we had this feeling that it was going to work. In fact, we had a lot of great responses, and even though the song was released back in 2018, the TFT version was soon distributed online (from April). I think this is a little bit like how ‘MTV Unplugged’ worked. TFT takes time to create precise planning for the recording with the artist team. As a result, many artists decided to do a specially arranged performance for TFT. Thus the recorded music will have a new value; the video is a documentary of the recording… and the music fans love it. We were unsure about this recording style for a long time, but we can say that we were successful because we decided to do a precise and proper recording.

Since then we started to release digitally in music.

What can fans expect from The First Take?

We try not to give any specific direction. We just tell the artist to “perform like a show.” When the shooting starts, all the staff leave, and it’s just the artist in the white studio. No rules; it’s a completely free one-shot take, so naturally, there’s quite a tension.

For the recording, all we say is “please perform as usual,” and we also don’t tell them what to say to the camera. We ask them to say whatever they feel, in their own words, so some people get really nervous.

It’s not good to say this, but I feel really lucky when something happens like the artist misses the lyrics (laugh). Because it’s a result of doing it with the soul. The artist puts in all of his/her energy and heart, to give the best performance. The pressure takes the artist beyond the limit and even during the song and after the performance, the artist, the staff, everyone there is always moved by it.

We try to keep that special feel of a live performance, even though it’s a recording.

By building such experiences, we can vividly define the overwhelming power of expression that an artist has. We want the viewers to feel, not think, when they are hearing this music. That way, we think they can sense music in higher resolution. We want our viewers to get goosebumps as they watch our YouTube channel.

Neil Diamond x 2 L.P Set

On August 7, 2020, Capitol/UMe will celebrate some of Neil Diamond‘s most electrifying live performances with the release of his 5 Hot August Night albums as a 2 L.P. black and limited-edition color vinyl set. The iconic performer’s mastery combined with the palpable excitement of the crowd is evident throughout the Hot August Night canon, which includes Hot August NightLove At The Greek, and Hot August Night II, as well as Hot August Night III, and Hot August Night/NYC, available on vinyl for the very first time. Neil Diamond’s All-Time Greatest Hits, a 23-track, standard weight 2LP collection, will also be released on black vinyl on August 7.

Hot August Night -The legend of Neil Diamond was unquestionably born on August 24, 1972, when the young singer/songwriter took over Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre for ten sold-out nights. Diamond and his band were at the peak of their game that summer, a night that would be captured forever on the two-record set Hot August Night. On one of these nights, Robert Hilburn of The Los Angeles Times declared, “His 1972 Hot August Night stand at the Greek remains among the most celebrated series of shows by a mainstream pop-rock performer ever in Los Angeles.”

As one of Diamond’s most successful releases worldwide, the album was multi-platinum in the U.S. and spent a mind-blowing 29 weeks on the top of the Australian charts. Hot August Night is one of the most celebrated and acknowledged albums of Diamond’s career and arguably one of the greatest live albums ever recorded. The original Hot August Night (the title of which was gleaned from the opening line to one of Diamond’s most celebrated tracks, 1969’s “Brother Love’s Travelling Salvation Show,) will be available as a black 2LP or crystal-clear limited-edition 2LP. Listen to Hot August Night, HERE.  Love At The Greek (the 1977 live double album) was Diamond’s second album recorded at famed Hollywood venue and the second album produced by Robbie Robertson. Love At The Greek (which features standout tracks such as “Holly Holly” and a fifteen-minute version of “Jonathan Livingston Seagull”) will be available on vinyl for the first time in 30 years as a black 2LP or a translucent non-metallic gold limited-edition 2LP. Listen to Love At The Greek, HERE.

The Platinum-certified Hot August Night II (the follow up to the original Hot August Night album) was recorded in August of 1986 and initially released in 1987, reaching #59 on the Billboard 200 chart.  Hot August Night II features twenty of Diamond’s biggest hits, including “Love On The Rocks,” “America,” and “Song Sung Blue” and will also be available on vinyl for the first time in 30 years as a black 2LP or a white limited-edition 2LP. Listen to Hot August Night II, HERE.

Hot August Night Ill chronicles Diamond’s triumphant return to the legendary Greek Theatre in Los Angeles in August 2012. The magical evening was Diamond’s 40th-anniversary celebration of the original multiplatinum-selling Hot August Night collection that was recorded at the very same venue in 1972. Following the 2012 shows at The Greek, Billboard Magazine said of Diamond’s performance, “His voice remains powerful and accurate; he reaches towards the baritone register for emphasis, just as he did in the 70’s. …he never falters in delivering every line with conviction.” From the fine acoustic twang of “Forever in Blue Jeans” to the pure Americana swing of “Kentucky Woman” to the eternal sing-along sunshine of “Sweet Caroline” to the raw emotionality of “I Am…I Said” to the welcoming arms of “America.”

Hot August Night Ill cements Diamond’s mastery of the live stage and his unique connection with audiences the world over. This is the first time that Hot August Night Ill will be available on vinyl and will be available as a black 2LP or a sea glass limited-edition 2LP. Listen to Hot August Night III, HERE.

Hot August Night/NYC – Recorded live at New York’s Madison Square Garden in August 2008 (originally released in 2009, the album includes 25 career-spanning hits from Neil’s phenomenal four-night sold-out run at the fabled concert hall. Hot August Night/NYC debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200 in 2009 and is certified Platinum. This is the first time Hot August Night/NYC will be available on vinyl and will be available as a black 2LP or translucent red limited-edition 2LP. Listen to Hot August Night/NYC, HERE.

All-Time Greatest Hits marks the Grammy^® winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee’s most comprehensive hits collection, encompasses the artist’s entire body of work, from the earliest recordings through the present-day.
