Halston Dare is not your average pop star. Growing up in a musical family to a Cuban American, immigrant father, Halston grew up with music in her blood. As a child, she grew up listening to classic 70’s, 80’s and 90’s music from the likes of Patti Labelle, Phil Collins, Bryan Adams, Donna Summer and Whitney Houston. As one of the brightest young voices in both the musical and digital influencer space, Halston is used to wearing many hats. “I want to be known as the girl who does it all. Music, fashion, make-up, sports. I want people to know that I’m a real person.”
Halston’s creative savvy and relatable personality has helped her amass a following of over 150,000 fans on instagram.
Halston started sharing covers of her favorite songs on Youtube a few years ago. She then branched out into the world of makeup, beauty and lifestyle. Her fanbase grew rapidly and when she finally released her single “Drowned Love”, it was received to much fanfare. Her fans instantly connected to the raw emotion and personal narrative. Over the years, Halston has fostered a uniquely deep and personal relationship with her fans. “Lots of fans I’m actually friends with. I rely on them as much as they rely on me. Let’s be friends, tell me about your day. Tell me about your problems.”
More About Halston:
Unlike many young musicians, Halston did not wait to get discovered. By age 11, the plucky and vivacious curly-haired preteen was googling agencies and managers and setting up her own meetings. That year, she heard an advertisement calling for aspiring young singers and Halston jumped at the opportunity. She begged her parents to attend the audition and because they saw her passion and dedication, allowed her to go. She attended the audition and the agency ended up flying her to Orlando, where she sang Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing” in front of 5,000 people. That’s when Halston and her family realized the stage was Halston’s home.
She then picked up piano and started vocal lessons. It was actually her first vocal coach who introduced Halston to song writers and producers and helped hone her talents. She started writing original music that she felt compelled to make. She says her lyrical inspirations come from a mix of real life and fantasy. “I love writing based on fairytales and stories I make up in my head. I love sharing my hopes, fantasies and daydreams.” Recently, Halston has been taking a much more personal approach to songwriting, writing about personal situations and real life events. Her new single “Something Special”, details a real-life situation about infatuation, dealing with ego and the misadventures of youth.
Aside from music, Halston is passionate about global issues like environmentalism, animal rights and female empowerment. Halston’s message has always been about empowering young women and making them feel important, beautiful and valued from the inside out. “In today’s Instagram world, we’re always comparing ourselves to these fake, filtered photos and that’s not really realistic. That’s just what people want them to see.” She says. “I want young girls to know that they’re beautiful the way they are and that they don’t have to look like an Instagram photo to be enough.”
For the future, Halston is excited to keep performing, making original music and connecting even deeper with her fans and followers. As Halston looks ahead she advises her followers to chase their dreams and follow their hearts, “If you want to sing, SING! Reflect you, show everyone how you can be the best you can be. If someone tells you, you can’t. Don’t listen to them. The only person who can stop you is you.”

The unmistakable, irrepressible sound of young America didn’t just dominate the charts–it crossed the racial divide during the social upheaval of the 1960’s. The hits and cultural influence doesn’t stop as Motown and its family of imprints explore new genres in partnerships with labels including Quality Control Music, which set the stage for signings of Migos and Lil Yachty. DITA EYEWEAR is thrilled to announce an exciting new collaboration with the ever-dazzling Queen of Burlesque, DITA VON TEESE, as they bring a fresh twist to iconic eyewear. The bridgeless cat-eye frame, rendered in lightweight titanium and appointed with contemporary details, represents the convergence of two creative talents at the peak of their influence.
Dita Von Teese is uniquely suited to the challenge of revitalizing the classically styled frames with an exquisite modern twist. “The cat-eye is a well-worn style, a silhouette that rarely transcends the era in which it was created,” she explained. “My goal was to keep within the spirit of the 1950’s, but to craft our version in a slick, new way as a secret weapon for the modern Femme Totale.”
High-end craftsmanship and technology from DITA EYEWEAR’s creative studio provided the tools to achieve a distinctive new shape for the landmark partnership. A slender expanse of titanium spans the brow in a single, sinuous line, stripping away extraneous elements for the illusion of a floating lens. Sculptural details, from the hinge mount to harlequin-point titanium temples, were inspired by selections from Von Teese’s vast collection of vintage couture and curiosities.
Von Teese herself will also appear in the season’s advertising campaign, “SEEING DOUBLE,” which shadows a mysterious encounter with a doppelgänger in a sultry noir atmosphere.
DITA EYEWEAR FOR DITA VON TEESE arrives November 1st, 2018 and will be available at DITA.COM, DITA flagships, Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue and other fine eyewear boutiques.

I would like to congratulate all our 2018 Power 100 honorees.”

Definitely a “One To Watch”Wengie’s last video Cake, already has over6M views in a monthof being out! She also just wrapped her successful summer US TourCreate Your Summer.
Recently having gained over 5M subscribers in less than a year—unprecedented growth for a YouTuber….—she’s proven to be in a league of her own. Currently garnering 11M+ subscribers on her YouTube Channel and over 15M+ across all social media platforms!
Wengie’s unique ability to deliver vibrant, informative, and highly-relatable content (including her wildly popular life “hacks” series) to a global audience—with signature quirk and humor—keeps her zealous ‘Wengiecorns’ wanting more. This unparalleled closeness and trust with her fans has cemented Wengie’s power as a leading content collaborator for both high-profile and emerging brands. Wengie has leveraged her prominence on YouTube to tackle other creative realms—she recorded her first music album in China. She is also the voice of the fourth “PowerPuff Girl” on the Cartoon Network.
Wengie aims to bring positivity and fun to music, and she does just that with this single.
Wengie has always loved pop music and R & B. For the majority of her life, Wengie has had multicultural musical taste, listening to mainly Jpop, Cpop and Kpop. She would learn lyrics to the songs having no idea what she was singing but still would be able to sing it by just memorizing it. Wengie’s main goal in music is to create fun music that is “east meets west” /Kpop-fused-with-American-pop, which is essentially all the things she loves.
Her musical influences include BLACKPINK, Hyuna, Arianna Grande and Taylor Swift.
Just recently, Los Angeles-based vocalist and songwriter, No/Me, shares her debut single “Consistent” vie Republic Recores–listen to it here!
On “Consistent,” No/Me lists off her flaws: a skeptic, a cynic, neurotic, and narcissistic–a freak who’s “got the best intentions,” but tends to “fuck them up.”
The moody and mesmerizing track comes to life with each confession delivered in her hypnotic vocals.
“‘Consistent’ feels like a page from my journal. Writing this song made me embrace parts of myself that were hard to face, but it also helped me stop curating the facade that people would prefer to see,” says No/Me.
The L.A. native’s sound is a blend of her electric influences, from early 90’s alt-rock to the quirky anti-folk of Regina Spektor to Israeli music. With Hebrew as her first language, her lyrics reveal a raw but poetic sensibility closely shaped by her upbringing.
Having a deep-rooted mission to use her music as a vehicle for positive change, No/Me’s stage name is her Hebrew name and meant to signify the transparent nature of her songwriting. She aims to spark that change on the most personal level. “Consistent” sets the stage for more new music from No/Me in 2018.
Opening at Salone del Mobile 2018, The Diner will celebrate American design now through design, food, and activations
April 17–22, 2018, Via Ferrante Aporti 15, Milan
In honor of its 25th anniversary, leading American design magazine Surface will unveil The Diner, in collaboration with architect David Rockwell, during the Salone del Mobile in Milan this April. The Diner will be a celebration of American design, presented as an unforgettable contemporary interpretation of the archetypal roadside restaurant.
The installation will immerse visitors in four distinct environments. Drawing on an expertise in hospitality and set design, Rockwell and the LAB at Rockwell Group are using the rituals of the diner as reference and departure points, linking the past and the future of an essential American icon. The entrance, inspired by the Airstream, will feature fresh coffee and homestyle pie. The journey will continue with an East Coast-style luncheonette, where visitors can enjoy milkshakes and other classic diner fare. A branded version of grilled cheese sandwiches will be served in the third segment of the space, a room that pays tribute to diners of the Midwest. The experience will conclude with a laid-back West Coast lounge concept.
“We are thrilled to be working with Surface on The Diner,” says Rockwell, founder and president of Rockwell Group. “Diners are uniquely American and enduring in our cultural iconography. Our goal is to capture the restaurant’s inherently optimistic and democratic spirit that draws people of all backgrounds to create a welcoming, lively, engaging, and fun environment.” To round out The Diner, Surface is tapping additional emerging and established U.S.-based designers and firms, including the renowned design studio 2×4, which is creating the project’s visual identity, from custom fonts and signage to menus. “Outside of the U.S.,” says Susan Sellers, creative director and partner at 2×4, “many would say one of
America’s distinctive qualities is optimism—an endless appetite for openness, possibility, and potential. I would say that American identity is currently challenged. We wanted to capture that paradox in The Diner’s identity.”
“I couldn’t be more excited to be partnering with David Rockwell and 2×4,” says Surface editor-in-chief Spencer Bailey. “Bringing this powerhouse team to the international stage during the world’s largest design and furniture fair is the perfect way to celebrate Surface’s 25th anniversary.”
The concept, strategy, and execution of The Diner is being done in partnership with strategic consultancy firms Jacob Peres Office and Allenby Concept House. A collaboration with Ventura Projects, the installation will be part of the Ventura Centrale exhibition at warehouses underneath Milan’s Central Station. Open for seven consecutive days, The Diner will be a place to eat, relax, meet old friends and make new ones, and recharge. During the week, it will host a daytime talk series and in the evenings it will transform into a nightclub with late-night performances and parties.
Monday April 16 3pm – 7pm
Opening Dates and hours:
Tuesday April 17 to Sunday April 22, 10 a.m.— 8 p.m.

Six-time Grammy® nominated singer, songwriter and producerKaskadetoday released a full-length Christmas via his own Arkade label in partnership with Sony International. The album is available to stream and download now HERE.
“I’ve always loved Christmas music dating back to my days as a child going to church with my family,” said Kaskade. “All these years later, I’ve been able to put my own collection of Holiday music together and am really excited to have it out this season. I love the challenge of taking music that I have grown up with and producing it in a way that is new and modern.”
The 13-song collection features Kaskade’s unique interpretation of holiday classics such as “Deck The Halls”, “Silent Night”, and “The First Noel”, as well as new original material and collaborations with Late Night Alumni, Erika, Debra Fotheringham, Skylar Grey, Isley, Gabrielle Current, Kayrae, Jane XØ, and Dia Frampton.
Kaskade added: “To add my imprint to classic songs is fun for me, and my die-hard fans will be familiar with the ways I make them my own. Some of the songs are huge departures from the original style, while others stick within the main framework. Add that to a few originals and…I am really proud of what I have created here. Christmas is fun… so is the music, and I’m here to bust up all the preconceived notions about what it should sound like. The mood of the season is about imagination, hope and love. This is for everyone, regardless of what you believe.”
Kaskade is about to wrap up a handful of Redux tour dates. He recently announced that he will close out the year with special shows at The Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, CA. This will mark his second New Year’s Eve show at the venue. Tickets for both dates are available at www.kaskademusic.com. See below for a complete list of upcoming dates.
Earlier this fall Kaskade released Redux EP 002 on his own label, Arkade. The seven-song set is now available to stream and download in its entirety HERE. Redux EP 002 is centered around Kaskade’s intimate Redux shows, an homage to the stripped down clubs and deeper House Music played from the time his career was beginning. It kicks off with the lead single “Nobody Like You“. The EP also features contributions from LöKii, Mr. Tape, and Late Night Alumni.
Following the success of Kaskade’s history making performance last summer at the Los Angeles Convention Center (which sold out in record time, was the biggest solo headlining show of his career and was attended by nearly 25,000 people), Kaskade returned to Southern California this past July to bring his fans another unforgettable experience via a massive outdoor beach party in Long Beach called Sun Soaked. The beach side three hour plus performance featured material spanning Kaskade’s career. Billboard proclaimed: “Kaskade cements west coast legacy with Sun Soaked party debut.”
