BIG30 × BACK SEAT OF THE ROLLS TRUCK

Rising Memphis rapper BIG30 returns with his relentless new single “Back Seat of the Rolls Truck.” Laced with his cutthroat bars and vivid recollections from his life in the trenches, the track is a reminder of 30’s status as one of street rap’s newest stars. The track is available now at all digital retailers HERE.

On “Back Seat of the Rolls Truck,” BIG30 gives the impression that he’s not into giving warnings. Over ominous trap drums and piano, the 21-year-old flips between reflection and aggression, flaunting grisly wordplay as he unpacks troubling memories. “He thought the shit was sweet, then fell a victim of the glizzy,” he raps. “Free Preston out the feds, they gave him 10 ’cause niggas snitching.” These bars only magnify the steely intensity that BIG30 has been able to capture in all of his best songs over the last few years.

This new single is the latest in a series that’ve raised BIG30’s profile to new heights. He began last month by releasing “Too Official,” an irresistible, Yo Gotti-assisted cut that showcased his evocative, street-level approach at its most compelling height. He followed up that single with “Mista,” a bullet-riddled track that details life in a danger zone. The video for “Too Official” has been streamed over 3.6 million times on YouTube, while “Mista” already has over 2.7 million views.

While he’s been on a steady grind for a few years now, BIG30 began seriously rising after appearing on “Neighbors,” an RIAA Gold-certified Pooh Shiesty song that showcased BIG30’s blunt-force delivery and penchant for vivid lyrics. From there, he completed a trap artist rite of passage by appearing on “Shit Crazy” with Gucci Mane, garnering the attention of Complex, Vulture, and other tastemaking outlets in the process. With “Back Seat of the Rolls Truck” joining a collection of stellar singles already at his back, BIG30’s rise is sure to continue.

About BIG30:

Armed with a blistering delivery, menacing lyrics, and bullet- riddled memories from the Memphis streets, BIG30 – the 21-year-old rapper to watch – unloads casual threats and bleak aphorisms with a concussive force that’s beginning to reverberate through the industry. His verse on Pooh Shiesty’s 2021 single “Neighbors” was the shot heard ’round the world, giving 30 his first RIAA Gold certification without even releasing his own project.

By the time the duo recorded “Neighbors,” more than two years after they started writing tracks together, BIG30 had refined his flow, and arrived more confident than ever. That song peaked at No. 51 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and contributed to the now 116M+ global streams that 30 can claim. Until then, 30 had been watching YouTube views and Facebook shares, not RIAA-certifications, especially since he wasn’t sure if the public was ready for the raw content of his bars. Now, as he takes advice from people like 50 Cent and records with the idols he grew up listening to, 30, the father of two children (with another on the way) plans to one day have his own record label and millions to his name. After signing to N-Less / Bread Gang Entertainment, he has the chance to reach the potential his label boss saw in him right away. Hard at work in the studio, he’s eager to share his debut project with the world and prove his spot among the many heavyweights who’ve given him their co-sign.

BIG30 – MISTA

Rising NLess / Bread Gang Entertainment rapper BIG30 returns with the confrontational new track and video “Mista.” With vivid lyrics, a pummeling beat, and an intense delivery that reflects the gravity of life in the trenches, the song is more evidence that BIG30 is one of the most talented Memphis artists to surface in years.

Over throbbing trap drums and menacing piano, BIG30 slings relentless bars carved from the streets of his native Memphis. He raps about the realities of his life, both the successes he’s already attained and the gunplay it might take to stay at the top. Paired with the icy yet insistent instrumental, BIG30’s lyrics give a sense that there’s always danger lurking around the corner. “Take care of my killers on the daily, get whatever gun/We spin they block for fun,” he raps. Like the best tracks he’s released over the past couple of years, it’s exciting, combative, and intense.

The high octane “Mista” follows early July’s “Too Official,” an infectious single that features a guest spot from Yo Gotti, the reigning king of Memphis trap. That track’s lively video has quickly accumulated more than 2 million views, further building the momentum for BIG30, who’s already had an explosive 2021. While he’s been on a steady grind for a few years now, BIG30 began seriously rising after appearing on “Neighbors,” an RIAA Gold-certified Pooh Shiesty song that showcased BIG30’s blunt-force delivery and penchant for vivid lyrics. From there, he completed a trap artist rite of passage by appearing on “Shit Crazy” with Gucci Mane, garnering the attention of ComplexVulture, and other tastemaking outlets in the process.

With those stellar singles already at his back and new tracks like “Mista” coming out by the day, BIG30’s wild rise is sure to continue across the rest of 2021 and beyond.

Watch Mista now.

Adidas x ICY PARK

By: Emily Bunn x Vaughn Lowery

The third collection of the Adidas x IVY PARK collaboration, coolly dubbed “ICY PARK,” is sure to freeze sneakerheads in their tracks in awe. Advertised with snowy slopes and alpine adventures, the collaboration features a host of ultra-chill, fashionable, and inclusive garments and footwear. The new collection sold out almost immediately after its prior internet release on January 25th, and flew off in-store shelves just as quickly. The third Adidas x IVY PARK collection will be released on February 19th online, and on February 20th in stores.

The ICY PARK collection includes a variety of outerwear options, as well as five new styles of IVY PARK sneakers. The collection is incredibly inclusive, with a range of clothing size options from XXXS-4X including: women’s tight fit, women’s regular fit, women’s oversized, gender-neutral regular fit and gender-neutral oversized. Further, the expansion of the IVY PARK sneaker line introduces the IVY PARK Ultra Boost, Forum Lo, Forum Mid, and Super Sleek sneakers. Finally, the IVY PARK Super Sleek Boot boasts comfort and ski-ready style.

Further, several apparel and accessories emblazoned with the IVY PARK monogram will also be released in the collection. These include an IVY PARK ski pass, water bottle, lanyard, face cover, and press-on nail polish stickers.

IVY PARK LLC, while a small company consisting of just ten employees, has generated $2.80 million in sales. The owner of the company, Beyonce, has commented in a statement:

“It’s a dream come true to re-launch IVY PARK as the sole owner.”

In 2016, Beyonce had originally partnered with clothing line Topshop, but sexual harassment claims about the company’s owner, Philip Green, caused her to pull the line. Queen Bey regained sole control of IVY PARK after purchasing back shares from Green in 2017, and is now looking toward the company’s future with more optimism than ever. Beyonce’s collaboration with Adidas impressively marks her as the first Black woman to be the sole owner of an athleisure brand.

Beyonce advertised the collection in a commercial with Adidas, in which she wears a jewel-encrusted helmet with light-reflective outerwear garments, among a host of other equally encapsulating outfit choices, mostly revolving around cold weather gear. The shoot also features several shots of snowy mountains, notable artists and models such as Hailey Beiber, Gucci Mane, Kaash Paige, Akesha Murray, Shi Gray, and Kyla Coleman on ski lifts, and Beyonce herself romping around in a whimsical winter wonderland.

Adidas’ collaborations with Kanye and Beyonce have boosted the company’s popularity, threatening Nike with some major clout and competition. Adidas reports that the company predicts the success of IVY PARK will eventually surpass the sales of Kanye’s 2015 Yeezy launch. Senior footwear analyst at NPD Group, Matt Powell, commented on the predicted success of Beyonce’s brand:

“Initially, IVY PARK will be smaller than Yeezy, but IVY PARK has the potential to be larger, if managed properly”, he continues, [the] “best way to build a brand is to have it sell out,” he says. “Scarcity drives demand.”

It is likely that the third IVY PARK collection will sell out as quickly as its first two iterations when it is released on February 19th via the Adidas online shop, and February 20th in stores. To view the collection, please visit Adidas’s website.

2 Chainz – Money Maker

2 Chainz, the multi-platinum, Grammy Award®-winning MC returns with Money Maker” feat. Lil Wayne, the first new single from his forthcoming sixth studio album via Def Jam Recordings. The song samples Louisiana’s HBCU Southern University world-renowned marching band, Human Jukebox, which are also featured in the artwork. 2 Chainz previewed the song last night during his Verzuz battle with Rick Ross where the King’s of the South celebrated their legacies and iconic catalogs. Money Makeris the first new music from 2 Chainz since his January single + video “Dead Man Walking” featuring Future.

2 Chainz’ most recent Def Jam album, Rap Or Go To The League (released March 2019), was described as his most personal, most lyrical, most soulful record to date. It challenged the notion that the only way out of the inner city is either to become a rapper or a ball player. The album flipped that trope, celebrating themes of black excellence, the power of education, and entrepreneurship.  A&R’d by LeBron James, Rap Or Go To The League spun off two smashes: the MTV VMA-nominated “Rule The World” featuring Ariana Grande, which boasts nearly 22 million YouTube views to date; and the RIAA platinum Bigger Than You featuring Drake and Quavo which has amassed over 62 million combined YouTube views to date.

Rap Or Go To The League was 2 Chainz’ first new studio album since Pretty Girls Like Trap Music, his RIAA gold #1 release of 2017. That LP netted over 2 billion streams after racking up three consecutive RIAA multi-platinum hits: “4 AM” featuring Travis Scott; “It’s A Vibe” featuring Ty Dolla $ign, Trey Songz and Jhené Aiko; and “Good Drank” featuring Quavo and Gucci Mane.

In addition to music, his wildly popular tv show Most Expensivest on VICELAND wrapped up its third season in 2019 with 20 new episodes; view the series trailer HEREHis “Chain Reaction” sneaker collaboration with Versace hit stores in the spring 2018, and was their most popular shoe of the year. His cannabis brand, GAS Cannabis Co. is available throughout California HERE.  And he starred with Adam Scott in the 2019 Super Bowl LIII Expensify tv spot, “the world’s first Super Bowl commercial you can expense.”

Following his run as a founding member of Def Jam duo Playaz Circle from his native Atlanta, 2 Chainz’ name was on everyone’s lips in 2012, when he stole a verse on Mercy,” fellow Def Jam artist Kanye West/G.O.O.D. Music’s RIAA triple-platinum #1 R&B/#1 Rap hit (from Cruel Summer).  In August 2012, Chainz arrived as a Def Jam solo artist with Based On A T.R.U. Story, his debut album.  B.O.A.T.S. entered Soundscan at #1 and was certified RIAA gold.  Its success was fueled by the RIAA platinum #1 “No Lie” featuring Drake, the double-platinum “Birthday Song” featuring Kanye West, and double-platinum “I’m Different.”  “Mercy” was subsequently a Grammy® nominee for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance, while B.O.A.T.S. was nominated for Best Rap Album.  Chainz’ dominance was extended when the sequel, B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Timeentered the Soundscan hip-hop chart at #1 in September 2013, and spun off the RIAA gold single, “Feds Watching” featuring Pharrell.

In 2016, Chainz brought it back to his essence with a series of mixtapes that dominated the streets: Felt Like Cappin, Daniel Son; Necklace Don, and Hibachi For Lunch.  Also in 2016, he released the lauded collaborative album ColleGrove with New Orleans hip-hop luminary Lil Wayne.  Critics agreed that 2 Chainz conquered 2016, with the New York Times proclaiming “all hail our greatest punch line rapper, 2 Chainz.”  The year was capped off with his first Grammy Award, Best Rap Performance for his verse on Chance The Rapper’s hit song “No Problem.”

With momentum on his side, 2 Chainz released his first solo album since 2013: Pretty Girls Like Trap Music (June 2017) was accompanied by a 35-city tour of North America through September.  Chainz’ TV appearances included visits with Jimmy Kimmel (HERE), Jimmy Fallon (HERE), and Trevor Noah (HERE).  2018 brought the EP releases The Play Don’t Care Who Makes It(February, with the RIAA gold “Proud” featuring YG and Offset), and Hot Wings Are A Girl’s Best Friend (November), pointing to the March 2019 release of Chainz’ fourth solo album, Rap Or Go To The League.  Chainz’ impact on popular culture encompasses not only music but his Most Expensivest cable tv series on VICELAND, his “Chain Reaction” sneaker collaboration with Versace, his GAS Cannabis Co. brand, and his 2019 Super Bowl LIII Expensify tv spot with Adam Scott.  TheRinger.comwas inspired to write: “Forget Mount Rushmore –  2 Chainz deserves his own national monument. This year dude is top five humans of all time.”

Today, rising Atlanta rapper Mulatto releases Muwop” featuring Gucci Mane, the first official single and video from her forthcoming major label debut mixtape coming this summer via RCA Records.

On “Muwop,” Mulatto flipped Gucci Mane’s 2008 track “Freaky Gurl” and made a witty, female response in a way only Latto can. The video was shot in Miami and directed by ARRAD.

Leading up to the release of “Muwop,” Latto took to Instagram to pay homage to Gucci Mane by recreating the covers of his iconic albums and mixtapes. Latto talking about “Muwop”: “I flipped Gucci Mane’s ‘Freaky Gurl’ for my project and I thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be great if he could get on it.’ When I got the text that Gucci recorded a verse for the song, I started screaming! Gucci is my favorite rapper of all time. Even when I was ten years old, in interviews I would say he was my favorite.”

Rapping since the age of 10, Mulatto is part of the elite new wave of female rappers, such as Flo Milli, City Girls, Saweetie and more, proving that women can also rule the rap scene with their unique styles, flows and verses. To date, Latto has garnered over 151 million streams on Spotify and Apple alone and her “Bitch From Da Souf (Remix)” video featuring Saweetie and Trina was viewed over 22 million times in just five months.
