Martin Garrix is back with a long awaited new single, this time collaborating with rising singer Clinton Kane. Martin is never one to sit still and has been releasing one track after the other, now with “Drown.”

Listen Now To “Drown

Kane’s emotive vocals offer great depth to winning collaboration, and are a perfect fit with Garrix’ characteristic style. “Drown” is yet another example of Garrix’ superstar talent and his knack for working with brilliant vocalists from all over the world.

Born to Norwegian and Filipino parents and living in between multiple countries-primarily the UK and Australia, Clinton Kane grew up teaching himself to sing, play guitar, piano and the drums. Kane, signed to Columbia, makes a great artistic match with Garrix. The pair became fast friends after working together in the studio.

Martin Garrix says: “Making this track with my friend Clinton Kane was amazing! He is crazy talented and we get along very well making the studio sessions loads of fun! I’m really happy with the end result.”

Clinton Kane adds: “Martin is such a warm human and a mad talent. It was heaps of fun writing and working with him on this track. We actually only met after the song was fully finished due to logistical issues and volcanic eruptions. Thank god for technology! Love him to death.”

With Garrix’s recent events including a life-changing trip to Antarctica, Martin was recently announced as the official UEFA Euro 2020 Musical Artist, producing the official song to be revealed this spring that will used throughout the upcoming global tournament. Garrix will also be performing the song at the opening ceremony June 12 in Rome, Italy. Garrix also continues his run at the Omnia club in Las Vegas and will be performing at Ultra Music Festival in March. His 2020 is just getting started, and this new track will blast it into overdrive.

About Martin Garrix:
Martin Garrix has risen to global stardom in both pop as well as electronic circles. Dance music’s freshest talent has headlined festivals around the globe, founded a label and mentored other artists and won the #1 spot in DJ Mag’s Top 100 three times. His passion, ambition, drive and maturity remain unmatched in the world. “Animals” released June, 2013 was a breakout success and a game changer for the music industry. Reaching No.1 in the UK and many other territories, it proved that a hard-hitting dancefloor-oriented track could reach pop status, ultimately reaching over a billion streams across several platforms.

The seven years since have been marked by a quick march through the ranks of dance music, conquering stages all around the world and releasing more breakout hits including the highly acclaimed “Scared To Be Lonely” with Dua Lipa, “There For You'” with Troye Sivan, “Ocean” with Khalid, “Summer Days” with Macklemore and Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy, “Home” and “High On Life” with Bonn, and “Used To Love” with Dean Lewis. He was awarded with two MTV EMAs, a ‘Man of Today’ accolade from British GQ, a spot among Forbes’ ’30 Under 30′ list twice, Billboard’s “21 Under 21” list three times, and has also been honored on Billboard’s ‘EDM Power Players.’ Garrix performed at the 2018 Closing Ceremony of the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea in 2018, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon twice and Good Morning America’s GMA Day. Set to produce and perform the official song of UEFA EURO 2020, the anthem will be revealed in spring 2020 to celebrate the 60 years of the competition. Martin started working with the brand AXE in 2018 with the release of “Burn Out,” to launch their platform AXE music. With STMPD RCRDS now firmly established, he has free range to do exactly what he loves most: making music.

About Clinton Kane:
Born to Norwegian and Filipino parents, 20-year-old Clinton Kane has lived in multiple countries, spending much of his time primarily between Australia and the UK. Clinton taught himself how to sing, play guitar, piano, and drums with his musical influences initially drawn from the church he grew up attending. Over the past 15 months, Clinton has shared 20 original songs, which generated a lot of buzz from fans and A&Rs alike. Since signing to Columbia in April 2019, he released his debut EP “this is what it feels like” chronicling the most vulnerable moments he’s experienced thus far: heartbreak, infidelity, anxiety, and more. Clinton released his latest song “So I Dont Let Me Down” in December 2019, which was inspired by his life as an artist and details his personal struggles. While his songs have become his own form of self-care, Clinton hopes that they have the same effect for someone else.

DIRECTED BY JESS KOHL IN COLLABORATION WITH OLIVER MALCOLM

WATCH HERE

Swedish born, London raised artist Oliver Malcolm delivers his debut solo effort — new single “Switched Up” (released on Darkroom/Interscope Records). The efficacious single blurs the lines of hip hop, alternative and R&B showcasing the twenty-year old’s pension for genre blending production and songwriting. “Switched Up” was offered with an equally dynamic visual directed by Jess Kohl in collaboration with Oliver himself — watch now!

Oliver Malcolm began his musical endeavor early, teaching himself how to spin records at 12 years old. Shortly after, he downloaded a cracked version of Logic and taught himself how to produce, which would turn into working with IDK, MF Doom, Joey Bada$$, Jay Rock, Masego, Tinashe and more. Now 20, Oliver has developed his own voice and songwriting ability. Touching everything from the production, vocals, songwriting, engineering, mixing and mastering, Oliver’s sound is unique and does not fit the mold of one genre. OCASO 2020

“Be prepared to be teleported into a quantum realm of whimsicality.”360 MAGAZINE

By Vaughn Lowery × Sam Berman

At the peak of the year, music, beats and dancing brought together a crowd of 10,000 attendees to Costa Rica for 2020’s Ocaso Underground Music Festival – the world’s largest rave in the jungle. Even the leatherback turtles, howling monkeys and crocodiles were head bobbing.

The Ocaso Underground Music Festival, which engaged on January 9th – 13th, united travelers, ticos and seasoned ravers alike to Tamarindo, Costa Rica, off the coast of the Pacific Ocean for five days of electronic music bliss. The jubilee was established by founder Devin Ellis in 2018; and it just culminated its fourth semester, with plans to return in January 2021, proving a successful run for one of the most emerging EDM festivals on the planet.

What makes this carnival so sui generis, aside from a stellar bill of DJs including Maceo Plex, Äme, Doc Martin, Justin Martin, Magdalena, Shiba San, Seth Troxler and Artba, might just be the visually striking and lushful setting of CR. The grounds, known as the Lesenda Retreat, centers around a trilithic stage composed of metal trusses for performers, complete with a towering geometric visual screen synchronized to the music, pulsating lasers, fog machines, pyrotechnics and go-go dancers. Apart from hypnotizing technical components conjured up by architectural wizards, the surrounding landscape and warm weather provided a tranquil atmosphere to enjoy the fiesta in, enhanced by art installations sprinkled throughout, providing a truly remarkable habitat.

Let’s talk about the sound! Imagine being at the On The Run II tour with Beyoncé and Jay-Z, state-of-the-art subwoofers and tweeters pinging throughout the venue, delivering clean and crisp vibrant instrumentation. Of course, this added fan excitement to every set.

Viewers were able to use tokens for transportation, food and drinks, providing added security from petty theft and loose cash. Overall safety was key with tons of guards at every entrance alongside of roaming escorts. We all wore sparkly color-coded wristbands to identify our level of participation – GA vs VIP. Staff members wore official reflective tanks and shirts to be easily accessible.

A short 15 minute-bus drive on a vintage yellow school bus brought participants to the festivities. Guests were offered an assortment of carte du jour options to replenish their prance-exhausted bodies with a number of locally and globally known chefs preparing flatbread pizzas, gyros, keto bowls, tacos as well as protein shakes.

Saturday was the most distinctive night of the event, with people from all over the globe, dressed in their most eye-catching ensembles, echoing the avant-garde fashion of other fairs such as EDC, Ultra, Tomorrowland, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo and Coachella. Ocaso brought a parade of colors infused with futuristic and organic elements blended seamlessly into garbs straight out of an alien planet, welcoming and embracing all.

The festival wrapped with a pool party at base camp, the Best Western Tamarindo Vista Villas. After a five-day outer body experience of infectious dance music, a sort of culinary delights, cozy lodging options, and the beautiful backdrop of the rugged rainforested, Central America, this is one masquerade which many should add to their list.

Missed out on the fun this year? Don’t fret, as the festival plans to return the weekend of January 7-11, 2021. Ticketing packages from this past year ranged from $19.00 to $59.00 for single day passes, a two-day Friday and Saturday pass for $89.00 and a 5-day-full-weekend pass for $119.00, a great deal for those who can’t get enough from just one night. So ravers, start planning your next vacation, because this is an experience any party animal should dive into.

Between the lively drums and bass drops, ‘Bass is Kicking’ is an upbeat track that will knock listeners off their seats. The single has the ability to electrify the night and turn any event into a party. Afrojack: “When people hear this track, I want them to know that they’re in for a good time. I chose beats that I thought no one would be able to resist moving to. The bass drop gives it that free feeling!”

Named the #8 DJ in the world by DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll of 2018 (marking his eighth consecutive year of appearing in the Top 12), Afrojack is one of the most popular dance music acts of today and a sought-after producer. GIRLS KICK SUMMER SOUNDS INTO ACTION

International singer/songwriter, K-Syran, celebrates the recognition of women at this year’s Ibiza Music Summit and personally promises a summer of stonking dance music.

Summer – gorgeous, warm, sparkling summer.  The trees are full, the blossom’s floating down like snow and we’re hankering after those delicious brushes of warm sunshine on our skin.  Don’t you just love it! But summer brings with it so much more than the seasonal sun – it also comes armed with a whole new bag of music. As spring blends into shimmering summer, our music industry flicks the switch on the vibe dial and suddenly we burst into action on the dance floor.

Summer is officially here and that means dance music is hot on the agenda for the next four months!

Just as the first buds of spring peep into view, our radio stations tempt and tease us as they sprinkle more vibrant and energized dance tracks across the airwaves.  From that moment, us music lovers know that the new season of music has sprung into life. Summer ‘sounds’ are equally as important as the summer sun and as the Ibiza Music Summit came to an end last weekend, it marked the official start of the dance music season, bring it on!

With three Top 10 dance hits of my own, I understand just how important dance music is to all of us.  Standing hand-in-hand with festivals and live gigs, dance clubs are one of the few places that our music can touch and interact with our audience on a live level.  That’s one of the few opportunities that we have to share the exhilarating musical experience as one. For me, that’s what music is all about, that touching-point with my audience.

So I applaud my musical sisters who made a stand at this year’s Ibiza Music Summit and addressed the vital topic of Diversity in Electronic Music. Tackling the issue of female representation within the electronic music industry, Jackie Antas of Live Nation exposed some vital statistics about us girls in the industry:

  • Just 1 out of 15 of Billboard’s One’s to Watch were women
  • No major music labels have female bosses
  • In 2014, only 18% of electronic labels include women on their rosters
  • Women made up 11% of rosters in 2016

I’m sure you’ll agree that these statistics are kinda shocking in what’s meant to be a equal world and within an industry which focuses so heavily on female talent.  The Summit discussed the need to implement a change in thought processes globally and it was agreed that there’s absolutely no doubt that the industry needs to represent women more fairly.  We shouldn’t label talent as ‘female artists’ or ‘female DJs’ – we should be equal enough to be label for our talent, not our gender.

Bring it on girls, let’s show the industry what we’re made of!  I’m kicking live and loud into this summer of dance with a bucket load of dance music that I’ll be releasing across the season.  I’ve been working with some awesome DJs and remixers to bring you the flavour of music that I know keeps you pumping in the clubs.  From awesome Dan Boots right through to the unparalleled talent of Jamie Lewis and Mr Mike – I’ve been working relentlessly in the studio with them all and I promise I’ll make this a musical summer that you won’t forget.  Watch this space – us girls will be lighting up those Ibiza dance floors very soon!
