LATTO – P*SSY

Today, ATL-based Queen Of Da Souf rapper Latto drops her timely new single and video “PUSSY” via RCA Records – HERE to listen / HERE to watch. The latest single is a reply to the overturning of Roe v. Wade that happened at the end of last month. In addition to using her platform to spread awareness and be vocal on this crisis, Latto is also donating a portion of the proceeds from this release to Planned Parenthood. Recently, Latto delivered a show-stopping medley performance of “It’s Givin” and “Big Energy (Remix)” – for the latter she brought out Mariah Carey and Young Dirty Bastard – after winning her first-ever award for “Best New Artist” at the 2022 BET Awards – watch the performance HERE / watch her acceptance speech HERE.

WATCH “PUSSY” HERE.

For the video co-director (alongside Latto who also directed) and cover art, Latto chose powerful women to collaborate with on this important release – director Sara Lacombe and artist Katie McIntyre. Both chimed in on their experience working on the project and with Latto:

Sara Lacombe on working on the video and the overall concept with Latto: “It was really important for Latto and I to collaborate on this video especially with woman’s rights being such a hot topic at the moment. Let’s be honest, America has always been good at oppressing people. So, for women, our rights, how the world treats us, gender roles and our overall place in society isn’t just news it’s something we deal with every single day, sometimes loudly and sometimes quietly. We are repeatedly reminded of how we ought to behave or who we should be, constantly being forced into a box. This video is symbolic that we can be both hard (her lyrics) and soft (the world we placed her in) at the same time. The world is always going to tell us who to be, that’s probably never going to stop, that’s why it’s more important than ever for woman to stand in their truths and know who they are.”

Katie McIntyre on working on the cover art for the single: “This track is an instant classic. It was amazing to get to create a powerful piece of art for Latto. I think it adds another dimension to the message that she is putting a spotlight on a feminist artist with this cover. This cover is all about the rise of the collective feminine against opposing forces. The woman in front of this outdated institution is breaking the ground with her body, just like we will break new ground in the continuing fight for women’s rights. This cover asks you to look at what you’re most afraid of, see the power in it, and know that it’s stronger than your attacks. It says: we are not beautiful, we are sublime.”

In March of this year Latto released her critically acclaimed album777 that debuted in the top 20 at #15 on the Billboard Hot 200 chart and top 10 at #6 on the Billboard Top Rap Albums chart. It’s recently landed on various outlets “Best of the Year (So Far)” lists including Rolling Stone, Billboard, XXL, Consequence of Sound and more – here to listen. Her latest project includes the electric single “Wheelie” featuring 21 Savage, her top 10 Billboard-charting hit single “Big Energy” (plus the “Big Energy (Remix)” with Mariah Carey and DJ Khaled) and her melodic track “Soufside,” which paid homage to her roots in ATL. Latto recently went on her first headlining tour this past year, the 777 Tour, and she’s gearing up to hit the road again as a guest on Lizzo’sTheSpecial Tour which kicks off September 23rd in Florida.

For the past two years and counting,Latto’s made it known that she’s the one you bitches hate, but they can’t get past. To start off 2021 , Latto released “The Biggest,”the first official release under her new moniker, which explained the 23-year-old rapper’s reasoning for the stage name change, her intentions and moving forward with this new phase of her career. Following that with the release of her hit RIAA-certified Platinumsingle “Big Energy”in September 2021 has made Latto inescapable. She went on to make history with the single as the first female rapper to ever have a #1 record at Pop, Rhythm and Urban Radio with the same single. Overall, she’s also the first female artist in 12 years to accomplish this feat, joining the company of Rihanna (“Rude Boy”), Alicia Keys (“No One”), Beyoncé (“Irreplaceable”), Mary J. Blige (“Be Without You”) and Mariah Carey (“We Belong Together”), the last five to previously achieve this. In November 2021, Latto had her late-night television debut on Late Night With Seth Meyers performing the certified smash hit and followed it with a medley performance of her tracks “Sunshine” and “Big Energy” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

With this new chapter of her career, Latto’s star continues to rise with elevated performances and accolades. She received her first-ever nominations for “Best New Artist” and “Best Female Hip-Hop Artist” at the 2021 BET Awards. She followed that with performances at the 2021 BET Hip Hop Awards and 2021 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs). She performed amedley of “Big Energy” and “Soufside” at the BET Hip Hop Awards and at the VMA’s she gave fans a sneak peek snippet of “Big Energy” prior to its release along with performances of her RIAA-certified Platinum singles “Bitch From Da Souf” and “Muwop” on their Extended Play Stage. Raised in Atlanta, GA, 23-year-old rising rapper Latto has been making a name for herself since she was eight years old. The Rap Game Season One winner has continually released music since 2016 and signed with RCA Records in 2020. In June 2019, Latto released her EP Big Latto, which included her breakout-hit song “Bitch From Da Souf.” The December 2019 release of her follow-up project, Hit The Latto, contained the remix version of the track featuring Saweetie & Trina, the accompanying video has been viewed over 86 million times. Prior to this, her impressive catalog of music includes Miss Mulatto (2016), Latto Let ‘Em Know (2017) and Mulatto (2018).

As part of the elite new wave of female rappers, such as Megan Thee Stallion, City Girls, Saweetie and more, Latto has proven that her pen game, replete with witty and raw verses, is unmatched. Her track “Bitch From Da Souf (Remix)” featuring Saweetie and Trina went RIAA-certified Platinum, making Latto the first solo female rapper from Atlanta to accomplish this feat. She was also one of only two women inducted into the XXL 2020 Freshman Class, earning her another major milestone in her burgeoning career. In August 2020, Latto released her major label debut project Queen of Da Souf and later that year also released of the extended version of the project. It included multiple standout tracks such as “In n Out” feat. City Girls, “Sex Lies” featuring Lil Baby andthe now RIAA-certified Platinum track “Muwop” feat. Gucci Mane. In addition to her own music, Latto has been inescapable; from her cameo in Cardi B’s iconic “WAP” video featuring Megan Thee Stallion, to countless features including Chris Brown & Young Thug’s “Go Crazy (Remix)” with Future and Lil DurkChloe & Halle’s “Do It” (Remix) with Doja Cat and City GirlsNLE Choppa’s “Make Em Say” andmore, she’s proven that Big Latto is bigger and better than ever before.

Latto’s first official release of 2021, “The Biggest,” was the introduction to her new moniker that explained her reasoning for the name change, her intentions and moving forward into the next stage of her career. To start off the new chapter, Latto received her first-ever nominations for “Best New Artist” and “Best Female Hip-Hop Artist” at the 2021 BET Awards followed by performances at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) on their Extended Play Stage where she gave fans a sneak peek snippet of “Big Energy” prior to its release along with performances of “Bitch From Da Souf” and “Muwop.” In addition to her VMAs performance debut, she received her first VMA nomination for “MTV Push Performance of the Year” for “Sex Lies.” She was also nominated for two 2021 Soul Train Awards and one 2022 NAACP Image Awardfor Chris Brown’s “Go Crazy (Remix)” with Young Thug, Lil Durk and Future.

From her appearance on LA Leakers with her viral freestyle to her feature on soundtracks for Halle Berry’s Bruised and F9: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack to her energetic appearances and sets at festivals, she continues to elevate. Latto’s latest singles “Big Energy” and “Soufside” are on her newly released album 777, and the new project demonstrates that point further. Most recently, “Big Energy” has proven to be a certified smash-hit making it into the top 20 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart (#14 currently), becoming RIAA-certified Gold, and dominating radio (cracking top 5 at Pop radio and was #1 at Urban and Rhythm). The track shows Latto embracing this new phase in her career – manifesting good fortune and hitting bar after bar with witty, captivating lyrics, but staying true to herself and her roots. Kitty Ca$h × Kiana Ledé – Just Fine

Producer, DJ, innovator, and cultural curator Kitty Ca$h reemerges with her new single “Just Fine” featuring platinum-selling artist Kiana Ledé via LVRN Records/Interscope. This track comes as the first in a string of new releases on the way for the Love Renaissance staple act.

“Just Fine” starts with an airy yet mesmerizing rhythm that draws you in accompanied by jazzy trumpet notes and piano keys. The rhythm quickens as the lyrics intensify when Ledé’s smooth and sultry vocals are paired with a heavy base and steady beat. The track invites you and your partner to the dancefloor while the lyrics add a layer of desire and complexity to the song. Ledé croons “You’re coming closer, reading your mind again. Follow me, follow, let’s go.” As the instrumentals remain a fixture for the background of the track, the chorus transitions from English to Spanish as flamenco style guitar enters into the key notes of the record. “Mírame a los ojos, mientras bailamos” not only sprinkles more raw desire on the song, but also reflects the upbeat melody since she is talking about dancing together while looking into each other’s eyes.

“When I first heard this song, I was so excited Kitty Ca$h asked me to be on it because it would be my first time singing in Spanish,” said Kiana Ledé. “I’m Mexican but was never taught Spanish, so I love that Kitty Ca$h gave me a chance to connect more with my culture on this song.”

“I’ve always wanted to see the growth in my artistry and as a DJ I feel like there is a natural progression to wanting to create your own records,” said Kitty Ca$h. “I’ve been able to play so many records I love around the world and I wanted to experience that same feeling with my music. I loved working with Kiana, I’ve been a fan of her work and she is so talented. So I’m so thankful that she took a chance on me and was down to bring this to life. Being in the studio together and experiencing in real time the magic was surreal. “Just Fine” is about that reassuring love. The love you can’t stop giving into. The love that stops time and the world around you and makes everything just fine. I hope this song evokes an effortless vibe of freedom and moves you to feel good. Whether you’re home with the fam or out with the girls I wanted to make a record that you could make memories of and dance to!”

Listen HERE.

The seminal mixtape cemented Nicki as a future icon when it initially landed on April 18, 2009.

Recognized as an undisputed landmark release, Beam Me Up Scotty launched Nicki’s first hit “I Get Crazy” [feat. Lil Wayne]. At the time, the song vaulted into the top 20 of the Billboard Hot Rap Songs chart and top 40 of the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Beyond reworking notable hits such as Soulja Boy Tell’em’s “Donk,DJ Khaled T-Pain’s “Go Hard,” and V.I.C.’s “Get Silly, the 23-track opus heralded Nicki as an elite rapper with expansive vision and earth-shattering promise.  Her signature flow scorched originals such as “Kill Da DJ” and “Keys Under Palm Trees” and placed her in grasp of the throne as Queen

Expanding the original tracklisting, she also locks and loads Beam Me Up Scotty with standalone anthems “Boss Ass Bitch (Remix)” and “Chi-Raq” (with G Herbo) as well as three brand new tracks including her new song “Seeing Green” (with Drake & Lil Wayne), “Fractions,” and “Crocodile Teeth (Remix)” (with Skillibeng).” Check out the full tracklisting below.

Recently, Nicki’s hit “Anaconda” passed 1 billion views on YouTube. She’s the first female rapper to accomplish such a feat on a solo track and now has six music videos with over the billion-view mark.

This year, Nicki will also release a new docuseries coming to HBO Max. The series is directed by six-time Emmy nominee Michael John Warren, who made his directorial debut with Jay-Z’s “Fade to Black.” Each of the six half-hour episodes of this untitled project will explore Nicki’s brilliantly creative mind and tell the story of her personal and professional journey. With complete honesty, Nicki will guide viewers through the most challenging and fulfilling times in her life, navigating highs, lows and misguided agendas in her stratospheric rise to fame and her journey to motherhood.
