JUANES – AMORES PROHIBIDOS

JUANES releases eagerly awaited new single & video

“AMORES PROHIBIDOS”

OFFICIAL VIDEO

One of Latin music’s top songwriters imagines the story of the pandemic’s separation of secret lovers- set to a unique and seductive musical fusion of Colombian Cumbia, electro rock/funk rhythms and classic guitar riffs and solos drawn straight from the earliest days of rock n roll.

As the first advance single from Juanes’ highly anticipated 2023 new Album, AMORES PROHIBIDOS” represents the start of a new creative cycle of original material from the 27 time GRAMMY & LATIN GRAMMY winner.

Today sees Colombian Rock Superstar JUANES release his new single and video “AMORES PROHIBIDOS”– marking the first listen fans will have into the new musical growth begun by the globally renowned artist following his recent GRAMMY & LATIN GRAMMY winning ORIGEN  album and world tour.

“The song idea began from an article I read during the pandemic on the difficulty of maintaining private relationships, those that could not be known to the world, because of the challenges of seeing the other person. Musically, if you take the beat out of the song, it’s actually a cumbia, a type of Colombian folk music, but then when you bring back in the rest of the production, and loop, it takes on a sound and vibe a little like Andre 3000 and ‘Hey Ya’ – and then I added a solo guitar in the style of Chuck Berry for more of a classic rock n roll vibe. That meshes with the poetic lyrics about that person you meet ‘In The Dark’ when no one else can see.” – Juanes

This new creative cycle meshes that continued return to electric guitar rock with a deep dive back into his own long-praised skill as an ardent songwriter (recently inducted into The Latin Songwriter’s Hall of Fame) – who turned his focus inward during the pandemic to reexamine life, love, family, and more of his own emotional intricacies and imagination.

This resulting two years of writing and recording has left both the artist and his close collaborating producer (and fellow multiple Grammy winner) Sebastian Krys filled with excitement about soon sharing this new level creativity as a full album release in early 2023, (marking Juanes’ first all-original album since 2019’s “Más Futuro Que Pasado”).

“I believe Juanes has reconnected with his fearless innovative songwriting that defined him early on in his career. This song sounds 100% Juanes and is simultaneously unlike anything he has done before.  Juanes has always been an innovator. Writing during the pandemic made him connect with his day-to-day life. His Children, his wife, his music, his fears, and passions. It is apparent to me that he has tapped into another level of musical exploration and curiosity which only a handful of artists ever achieve.” – Sebastian Krys

Today’s new song release also sees the premiere of a new music video (directed by José Emilio Sagaró) that once again sees Juanes eschew frequent Latin music video formula for a preference to instill more modern visual art imagery, while still intercut with footage of live musicianship and this song’s intimate & passionate storyline.

“The concept of the video is abstract. The goal was to create a moving art piece. I wanted to give the audience a different look into Juanes. The bed represents what is personal and intimate, the eye represents your conscience. We wanted to show the thrill of forbidden love but in a conceptual way depict how your conscience is always “aware” and “watching”. In the darker scenes we wanted to represent being alone with your thoughts where you can find wisdom and serenity which is depicted by the owl. At the climax of the video the moving lights was our way to show the euphoria of the chase between lovers. We were honored to work with Juanes and loved creating this music video.”- José Emilio Sagaró

Alejandro Ramírez, also known as Sky Rompiendo, the award-winning producer, composer, DJ and artist born in Medellín, has returned to his homeland to participate in the closing of the Casa Spotify Medallo on November 3.

Joss Favela – Tu y yo

The multi-awarded Mexican artist and performer Joss Favela, announces the release of his new song Tu y yo, which premieres together with its official music video, available as of today on all digital platforms, including YouTube.

Living in a toxic relationship is, unfortunately, very common these days. Love stories have many ups and downs, and Mexican-singer-songwriter Joss Favela is here to tell you all about his new song “Tu y yo”, tells a heartbroken story from his own authorship which explains how “there is only one step from love to hate.”

Tu y yo comes off the most recent studio album by Joss Favela “llegando al rancho,” a romantic material with which the multi-awarded composer and Latin Grammy Nominee has been able to tell amazing, charming and at the same time heartbreaking love stories with his undeniable professional and characteristic Sinaloan- band sound.

Favela’s new song shows the performer living a love story based on emotional instability. The song of its own inspiration shows through its official music video the dramatic story of a couple that finds themselves caught up in a toxic back and forth dynamic, which leads to an inevitable routine.

“Tu y yo” releases together with its official music video, which puts in images the feelings of Joss Favela. The video was recorded in the city of Monterrey, under the direction of Shio Flores and Luis Torres, with the production of Latin Power Films.

TAINY REVEALS NEW VIDEO FOR “MALOS HABITOS” FEATURING PUERTORICAN NEWCOMER KRIS FLOYD

3 time Latin GRAMMY© Award-winning producer and artist  Tainy,  released the video for  “MALOS HABITOS”  alongside  Puertorican newcomer Kris Floyd. The song is part of “The Kids That Grew Up On Reggaeton- Neon Tapes”, Tainy’s debut EP released earlier this month which consists of 7 songs and features other talented artists such as Dalex, Alvaro Diaz, Sean Paul, Cazzu, Mozart La Para, Lauren Jauregui, C. Tangana, Kali Uchis, Khea, Kris Floyd, Dylan Fuentes, Lennox, Justin Quiles, and Llane.

The video was directed by Elliot Muscat and The Garden and was shot on location in Miami in the middle of the night. Muscat drew inspiration from the up close and personal feel of the 90s shooting styles and tying the camera to the back of a pickup truck giving him the chance to capture Tainy and Kris in the best way.

“This track is special,  it’s Kris Floyd’s debut as part of the NEON16 family, so this is another exciting time for us. It was produced by the very talented Jota Rosa who is also under the NEON incubator. In this song he put his touch and gave the EP the variety it was missing. Kris’ delivery on this track is truly amazing”, comments Tainy.
