Black Eyed Peas ninth album Elevation launched via 360 MAGAZINE.

BEP – ELEVATION

Multi-platinum and six-time GRAMMY® Award-winning, genre-bending pioneers Black Eyed Peas proudly present their anxiously awaited ninth full-length album, ELEVATION, out now. Listen to ELEVATION HERE.

The 15-track juggernaut kaleidoscopically spins together hip-hop, Latin, R&B, electronic, trap, and more into a larger-than-life vision of what pop can be in the 21st century without boundaries or borders. From the jump, uncontainable energy surges through this bold body of work. “MUEVELO” [feat. Anuel AA & Marshall Jefferson] glides along on bright keys and big handclaps offset by robotic transmissions, a command to “Move your body,” and a promise “We stay lit forever.  Elsewhere, “Dance 4 U” hinges on a slick bass line and punchy groove. The sample on “Jump” predicts the reaction perfectly, “Somebody said when you play this song all the girls will go loca. The kinetic stomp of “Firestarter” leaves flames in the wake of its incendiary vocals. The group shine brighter than ever.

Check out the full tracklisting below.

Black Eyed Peas teased out ELEVATION with “SIMPLY THE BEST” [with Brazilian global pop superstar Anitta El Alfa]. It has already generated over 2.9 million Spotify streams and 18 million YouTube views on the music video. Earning critical acclaim, mxdwn asserted, ‘Simply The Best’ acts as clear proof to fans that Black Eyed Peas remain just as capable of creating fun and energizing party tracks as they have been since their 1995 formation, and That Grape Juice fittingly summed it up as “a global affair.

Right out of the gate, “SIMPLY THE BEST” rides luminous dancefloor-ready keys towards a chantable chorus, “No it don’t get better than, better than this.” Black Eyed PeasAnitta, and El Alfa trade verses back and forth, unlocking undeniable and unbreakable chemistry. At the same time, Anitta infuses the track with Brazilian swagger, El Alfa turns up with Dominican Republic flavor, and Black Eyed Peas exude laidback Los Angeles confidence in between these global rhythms. The visual continues a tradition of larger-than-life videos for the group as well. Once again, they pull out all the stops.

ELEVATION finds Black Eyed Peas expanding the collective musical consciousness and pushing boundaries yet again (like only they can). Of course, they bring a few friends along for this rollercoaster ride. The group link up with Daddy Yankee on the reggaeton banger “BAILAR CONTIGO, while Nicky Jam ignites the funkified “GET DOWN” with fresh fire. Then, there’s “FILIPINA QUEEN” where they team up with J. Rey Soul and deliver an inimitable and irresistible bop. Nicole Scherzinger lends her powerhouse pipes to “NO ONE LOVES ME, and Black Eyed Peas and Ozuna close out the album together on the universally-resounding “L.O.V.E.”

They initially teased ELEVATION with the international smash “DON’T YOU WORRY” [with Shakira David Guetta]. It has already gathered more than 111 million Spotify streams and 113 million YouTube views on the music video. Meanwhile, it catapulted into the Top 40 at AC, in the Top 30 of the iTunes Top Pop Songs Chart, and Top 50 of the Shazam U.S. Top 200. Beyond recent acclaim from BillboardNME, and more, the group also recently performed on ABC network’s Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series in Central Park.

It is ELEVATION season for Black Eyed Peas. Join them on the next level!

Black Eyed Peas continue to fulfill a master plan to push the game forward devised way back in 1995. They execute each stage of this plan with focus and intent, allowing their evolution to play out in real-time over a series of game-changing albums, beginning with Behind The Front [1998] through Bridging The Gap [2000], Elephunk [2003], Monkey Business [2005], The E.N.D. [2009], The Beginning[2010], Masters of the Sun, Vol. 1 [2018], and, most recently TRANSLATION[2020]. Along the way, co-founders will.i.amApl.de.Ap, and Taboo have set music industry records that will probably never be exceeded, moved north of 35 million albums and 120 million singles, gathered six GRAMMY® Awards, and headlined the Super Bowl, the World Cup, and F1 races. The multi-platinum group launched the comeback of the decade after eight years of dormancy. The future matters the most to these trailblazers, which brings us to their 2022 blockbuster ninth full-length, Elevation [Epic Records]. The 15-track opus represents another logical step and the dawn of a new phase, boasting the smash “DON’T YOU WORRY” [feat. Shakira David Guetta] and collabs with Daddy YankeeNicky JamAnuel AA, OzunaNicole Scherzinger, and more.

About the record, will.i.am comments, “We were behind the front, then we bridged the gap. We rode an elephant’s back to realize the industry was full of monkey business. That was the end, but the end is new beginnings. Becoming masters of the sun, mastering the industry, we realized we had to have translation in this complex world. But we be falling up, and never falling down. Black Eyed Peas is known for elevation. This is the next stage for us, reaching higher.”

Dancing With Myself

Basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal and actress Liza Koshy join international superstar Shakira as creators on Dancing with Myself, NBC‘s newest dance-challenge series. A premiere date for the hourlong series will be announced in the near future.

Inspired by the millions tuning in to watch the latest dance crazes on social media, Dancing with Myself will see a group of everyday people compete each week in a series of high-energy dance challenges designed and demonstrated by the show’s celebrity creators Shakira, Liza, and Shaquille. Isolated in their own pods, contestants have a short time to learn the new routines, add their unique flair, and perform their hearts out in front of a live studio audience. As each round of the competition progresses, the creators on the judging panel provide instant feedback and choose their favorites to advance, along with the audience picks. But ultimately, it’s the studio audience that decides who’s the best dancer of the night and gets to take home the cash prize.

Shakira, Liza, and Shaquille will perform the new dance challenges created specifically for the show, which the contestants will have to tackle.  They will also enlist the talents of guest celebrities who will submit their own challenges.

As an NBA Hall of Famer, longtime sports commentator, entrepreneur and spokesperson, Shaq‘s larger-than-life personality has captured the hearts of millions for years. His dance moves have become a regular trending topic on social media.

Co-creator, executive producer, and star of her own YouTube Originals series Liza on Demand, and seen recently co-hosting “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve Special,” Koshy‘s humor and relatability to her legion of followers brings a fresh perspective to the lighthearted competition.

Model, actress and on-air correspondent Camille Kostek will join the trio as host. She began her career as an NFL professional cheerleader, performing routines at international events and teaching youth clinics. Kostek originally gained international prominence after landing the cover for the 2019 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit magazine in her rookie year alongside Tyra Banks. Kostek is passionate about using her platform to continue spreading self-love and inner strength through her #nevernotdancing social initiatives, where she encourages fans to express body positivity & self-acceptance through dance. In her role as host, Camille will also demonstrate new dance challenges and perform with the other creators. Dancing with Myself is produced by Universal Television Alternative Studio, a division of Universal Studio group, and Irwin Entertainment. John Irwin, Dave Kuba, and Eli Frankel executive produce for Irwin Entertainment. Tina Nicotera Bachman, Ben Thursby-Palmer, Jaime Levine and Shakira also executive produce. The series is licensed by NBCUniversal Formats, a division of Universal Studio Group.

With my company A THREAT co-producing this competition with GKUA, trust that dancing is the star. MADAME TUSSAUDS HOLLYWOOD WAX MUSEUM

When you walk through Hollywood, you can find 2,690 stars along the sidewalk calling out famous and celebrated singers, songwriters, actors, directors, and anyone who has had a lasting impact on Hollywood. You can also escape the heat and bustle of the city by exploring Madame Tussauds where you are treated to life-size replicas of all your favorite Hollywood Superstars.

Madame Tussauds Hollywood features three floors filled with wax replicas of singers, late night hosts, actors and actresses, and even famous characters from movies like Boris Karloff as The Mummy. You are first greeted with a wax figure of Baywatch Zac Efron in front of the Santa Monica Skyline, a massive King Kong next to the Empire State building, and a game face ready Kobe Bryant. After you purchase your tickets, you are welcomed into the museum and given free rein to tour and visit all three floors. Following COVID-19 guidelines, guests are to start from the third floor and make our way down for one-way traffic to flow better. The first-floor features Hollywood’s newest members and current pop culture icons: Demi Lovato, Jason Derulo, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Lopez, Kylie Jenner, Morgan Freeman, Simon Cowell and more. And not forgetting to mention, the brand-new Ariana Grande wax figure dressed in her Rule The World music video outfit. The figurine is also posed in a pink-themed set from her famous 7 Rings video with a pyramid of champagne glasses behind her. This is a new piece for the museum and not yet updated in all of Madame Tussauds locations, so it is definitely not to be missed!

On the second floor, you pass Meryl Streep, Obama, and Jim Carrey; the second floor also features all of old Hollywood’s stars: Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland, John Wayne, esteemed directors: Alfred Hitchcock, Martin Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino, and even actors portraying characters from popular films of that era: Hannibal Lector (Anthony Hopkins) locked in his cell, Danny (John Travolta) next to his red-hot rod, and Edward Scissorhands (Johnny Depp). After you tour through Old Hollywood, you arrive at the last floor featuring all your favorite stars from the 90’s: Britney Spears, Tupac, Snoop Dog, Michael Jackson, Shakira, Beyoncé, Madonna, and so on. This section features the ultimate 90’s bedroom and would transport you back in time.

After your trip down memory lane, you will arrive the last feature in the museum, a Marvel theme wax exhibition, where you can check out a few Marvel cast members figures in full costume: Spiderman, Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), etc. Though it is not compulsory, you can also purchase the 4D Marvel Movie screening for an additional $5 for an immersive experience. The glasses the museum provides will allow you to see the 3D aspect of the film, and be prepared for sound effects, water, bubbles and even ropes to hit your feet. All of these elements make for an out of this world experience, the movie is 10 minutes long. Make sure to put any items you don’t want getting wet away! If you are not a fan of getting wet, I recommend sitting father back. Stop by the gift shop on your way out and grab a cup, key chain, or shirt to remember your visit to Madame Tussauds Hollywood.

In addition to offering a fun and safe day out of the house, you are also able to learn about the process of making a wax figure, see examples of the process, and in pre-Covid times purchase your own wax mold of your hand. It takes about 800 hours to create a wax figure, beginning with the detailed measurement of the model from the circumference of your head to the width of your ankle. Every measurement is specific to ensure the wax figure looks as accurate as possible. After the measurements are taken, workers begin sculpting, painting, designing, making the costumes and finally dressing and staging the wax figures. This is no easy task and while some figures are more life-like and realistic than others, they are all impressive. It really makes you question who in the room was real and who was a wax figure! The detail in every figure is astonishing, from freckles, scars, tattoos, and hair. It feels as if you are really meeting and interacting with these stars rather than standing next to a wax figure.

Come meet your favorite artists and movie characters at Madame Tussauds Hollywood today! To buy tickets for Madame Tussauds, visit the website or buy them in person.

MasterClass, the streaming platform where anyone can learn from the world’s best across a wide range of subjects, today announced that award-winning choreographer Parris Goebel—known for her powerful work for some of the biggest names in the music industry—will teach a class on Creativity in Choreography. For the first time ever, Goebel will not only reveal her process for creating viral dance sensations, but also share insights on how to unlock creativity and turn goals into reality. Goebel’s class is now available exclusively on MasterClass, where subscribers get unlimited access to all 90+ instructors with an annual membership.

“Parris has choreographed for some of the biggest names in the music industry,” said David Rogier, founder and CEO of MasterClass. “Her MasterClass teaches us how to unleash the creative being within—it is both a how-to and a how-to-be, offering invaluable lessons and inspiration for anyone looking to find their creative voice.”

A New Zealand native, Goebel found her love of dance at the age of 10 before she formed the all-female dance group ReQuest, and later opened her own studio, the Palace Dance Studio, in Auckland. In 2012, she caught the eye of global superstar Jennifer Lopez, who hired Goebel to choreograph some numbers for her “Dance Again” world tour. Goebel went on to choreograph and direct Justin Bieber’s global hit video for “Sorry,” currently holding more than 3.3 billion views on YouTube; it’s one of the 13 videos she directed that make up Bieber’s “Purpose: The Movement” series. Now one of the most coveted choreographers of all time, Goebel has worked with some of the most iconic artists, including Janet Jackson and Nicki Minaj. She’s also worked extensively with Rihanna for more than five years, collaborating on the singer’s Savage X Fenty show, which led to a 2020 Emmy nomination for Goebel. She dominated headlines when she released her own dance video for Bieber’s 2020 single “Yummy,” followed by choreographing Jennifer Lopez’s halftime show for Super Bowl LIV, which showcased members of her award-winning dance crew, the Royal Family. Goebel is set to direct her first feature film “Murder on the Dance Floor,” which is an adaptation of her acclaimed street-dance-based production.

“I always knew that I wanted to create things that inspired young people and I turned that into my superpower,” Goebel said. “In my MasterClass, I’ll share the secrets and techniques to my creative process because when you can express confidence as a leader, choreographer and director, it’s contagious.”

Designed for anyone who wants to find their creative voice, Goebel’s MasterClass will give members a unique window into her creative process, from the inner work she has done to hone her style to a breakdown of how she choreographs and directs live dance performances and music videos. Through honest and vulnerable storytelling, Goebel will open up about her personal journey, from starting a studio at age 17 to pursuing her passion around the world, sharing insights on how to unlock creativity, develop your brand and harness the power of what makes you unique. Goebel will show members how to find their unique voice by letting their spirit go free, allowing them to unleash the creative being within.

For members looking to elevate their skills as a choreographer or music video director, Goebel will break down how to choreograph a large-scale dance routine, including selecting music, building choreography, adding dynamics and perfecting every detail and movement. Goebel will give members rare access to never-before-seen case studies of some of her most iconic choreography for Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” and Ciara’s “Level Up,” offering tips on how to work with artists, approach directing for the screen, casting and finding the best camera angles. Half Time Show Analytics x Talkwalker

SUPER BOWL LIV – Half Time Report – Social Media Says Shakira Stole the Show

As the Super Bowl rolls on, here is a look at the first half (and halftime) updated social media results from international Social Media Analytics Firm Talkwalker. These numbers were updated at 8:45 p.m. Sunday.

Shakira has 1.17 million mentions so far!

J-Lo has around 250,000.

If mentions alone tell the story, Shakira stole the show, but Shakira does have a much more active fanbase on social media – more so than Lopez.

Others with big numbers, include:

Latin artist J-Balvin, who was also part of the halftime show, has 74,000 mentions

Bad Bunny with 145k mentions.

The first big joke of the halftime show on social was people comparing Bad Bunny’s outfit to Ali G’s.

Pepsi Halftime Show had 186,000 mentions

Sentiment surrounding the halftime show was 44% positive, 6% negative (remaining 50% neutral), according to Talkwalker

Below is a heatmap around the halftime show conversation, with several important trends to note. OIf course it’s a huge topic of conversation across the country, like every year, but the conversation is just as heavy in Colombia, in Mexico City, Rio & Sao Paolo, and in Puerto Rico, due largely to the performers. Conversation is also popular in Britain – where the NFL is trying to grow the game.

Kandace Springs

“Prince’s protoge spreads her wings on breathtakingly eclectic second album

An accomplished pianist with a sensuous, smoky voice”

MOJO

the soulful pianist and vocalist is self-assured, distinctive and strikingly contemporary.

WALL STREET JOURNAL

Singer and pianist Kandace Springs has released her remarkable second album Indigo (Blue Note), a 13-track LP of originals and choice covers that showcases the full breadth of Kandace’s artistry from smoldering R&B (People Make the World Go Round , 6 8) to gorgeous jazz ballads (Unsophisticated, featuring Roy Hargrove) to the pop songcraft of “Breakdown” and Don’t Need The Real Thing. All but two tracks are produced by drummer/producer Karriem Riggins (Common, Erykah Badu) with additional production by Jamie Hartman (Rag’n’Bone Man), Jimmy Hogarth (Amy Winehouse, Corinne Bailey Rae), Jimmy Harry (Madonna, P!nk), and Evan Rogers and Carl Sturken (Rihanna). Indigo is available on vinyl, CD, download, and streaming services.

For Kandace it boils down to a question that connects past to present: “What would Nina Simone do if she had the technology of today? You could never put Nina in a boxߞshe would do a blues followed a classical piece, a jazz standard and then a Beatles cover. This LP took a lot of inspiration from that it’s a mix of everything that I am.” Indigo offers a fairly plausible answer to that impossible query: songs that swirl classical composition with quiet-storm cool, jazz poise with hip-hop swing, tropical warmth with soulful depth, and earthen groove with airy psych.

Given that diverse palette, Karriem was exactly the right person to work with Kandace to catalyze the best parts of various interests into something new. “I love crossing genres and the direction on Indigo was to marry all the different things to tell her story”, says Karriem, who tracked his drums at various studios while on the road with Diana Krall, and chopped and reassembled his and Kandace’s recordings into what you hear. “It sounds organic because everything was built around the songwriting. She says so much on the piano, and her voice is amazing it’s the focal point of the whole sound.”

Prince once said that Kandace “has a voice that could melt snow.” The music icon heard her cover of Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me” online in 2014 and invited her to perform with him at Paisley Park for the 30th anniversary of Purple Rain, becoming a mentor to the young singer and pianist. Kandace’s 2014 self-titled EP turned even more heads and led to performances on Letterman, Kimmel and Fallon, as well as the Afropunk and Bonnaroo festivals. Okay player called her as “a vocal force to be reckoned with” and Afropunk dubbed her “a versatile and vital artist”

Kandace draws much of her musical inspiration from her father, Scat Springs, a respected session singer in Nashville. It was due to him that Kandace grew up surrounded by music, and he encouraged her to take piano lessons after he watched her peck out melodies on the instrument when she was 10. Yet as a girl, she was equally interested in other creative outlets, especially visual art and, more unexpectedly, automobiles. “My dad gave me a Matchbox car, and my mom gave me a Barbie,” she says. “I drew a mustache on the Barbie and never played with it again, and I still have the Matchbox car.” (Her obsession with cars, which she collects, rebuilds, and resells, continues to this day.)

Something deeper in the young musician was sparked when she heard Norah Jonesߣ 2002 Blue Note debut, Come Away With Me. “The last song on the record is ߢThe Nearness of Youߣ and that song really inspired me to learn to play piano and sing. It was just so soulful, simple and stripped down. That really moved me and touched me. It’s when I realized, This is what I wanna do.”

Kandace began gigging around Nashville, and eventually an early demo she recorded caught the ears of Evan Rogers and Carl Sturken, the production team who have written hits for Shakira, Christina Aguilera, and Kelly Clarkson, and are best known for discovering Rihanna as a teen and signing her to their production company SRP. Rogers flew to Nashville with an offer to sign Kandace. Still only 17 years old at the time she and her family decided that it wasn’t the right time to pursue a recording career, instead taking a job at a downtown Nashville hotel where she valet parked cars by day and sang and played piano in the lounge at night.

A few years later, Kandace was talking about going to automotive design school, but her mother suggested that she get back in touch with Rogers and Sturken. She instead moved to New York and started working seriously on new songs and demo recordings. She eventually landed an audition with Blue Note President Don Was at the Capitol Records Tower in Los Angeles, winning him over with a stunning performance of Bonnie Raitts “I Can’t Make You Love Me” (the original of which he had coincidentally produced).

If you listen closely to Indigo, you’ll hear a nod to Prince in the lyrics of “Fix Me” but the best tribute she could pay to him, Ms. Simone, and the humble legacy of the man who introduced her to music, her father, is by, as Karriem words it, “creating something that adds to the art form.” With Indigo, an album that couldn’t have been made by anyone but her, Kandace Springs does exactly that.
