Putin will not go to the funeral of the last leader of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev, who died on August 30, because his work schedule does not allow it. “We know that the farewell ceremony will take place on September 3, and also the funeral, but unfortunately the president’s work schedule will not allow him to attend on September 3, so he decided to do it today,” he said. Dimitri Peskov (Putin‘s spokesman). The Russian leader said goodbye yesterday, September 1, to the first president of the Soviet Union at the Central Clinical Hospital in Moscow (Russia), before flying to Kaliningrad.

Faangs – Teeth Out

FAANGS’ latest single “I DON’T CARE” earned the 22-year-old a fresh round of acclaim, further highlighting her as an essential new talent with a devil-may-care attitude and the distinction to live up to her eye-catching image. An array of big names have also engaged with her talent, having co-written the Ashnikko / Grimes collab “Cry”, delivered debauched rhymes to Felix Jaehn’s “SICKO”, and hit it off with Rico Nasty during sessions for “Own It”.

Now the Los Angeles-based, Canadian artist takes a bite out of pop culture as she shares her new 13-track project TEETH OUT along with the new single “DON’T BLAME ME”. Both releases are out now via TEETH OUT/Sony Music Germany/RCA Records.

On TEETH OUT, FAANGS embodies and embraces conflicts and contradictions – a stance that made its previously revealed tracks “RELAPSE”, “I DON’T CARE”, “I’M A LITTLE” and “HUH” essential listening. Her strikingly futuristic music is a blend of influences that find the common ground between trap, pop and rock star attitude,  while her high/low fashion sense reinforces her neon-and-dirt sensibility; slicked-back hair and an Yves Saint Laurent suit, standing in front of a car on fire, or in a marble mansion with her go-go boots parked on the table.

FAANGS says, “This project is a combination of two things. I’m saying ‘Don’t fuck with me,’ and at the same time, I’m telling you ‘I’m fucked up in a broken way.’ Those are the two walls I had to put up, and take down, to create the world I wanted to make. There are so many days when you doubt yourself, you want to give up – but then you strut into a club and get your shit going. We all have both of those things in us, and I’m all about that juxtaposition.”

FAANGS keeps up that unpredictable streak on “DON’T BLAME ME”, spitting her furious flow throughout much of the track but also keeping everyone guessing by adding some seriously sleek vocals. It’s almost an alternative to alt-pop, as the track sets pounding trap beats to the sweeter harmonic tone of the piano – a world away from the usual shimmering synths and quirky drum patterns.

Conceptually, “DON’T BLAME ME” feels like a continuation of “I DON’T CARE”. Whereas that track revelled in still suffering from the night before, “DON’T BLAME ME” suggests that someone wants her to make amends for the previous evening’s craziness. But FAANGS being FAANGS, that’s just not going to happen.

FAANGS says, “”DON’T BLAME ME” is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever made. It’s got this cheeky energy, it’s definitely THAT song to turn up and feel like a bad bitch to!’

The sole writer of the “DON’T BLAME ME” lyrics, FAANGS co-wrote its music with the track’s producers Digital Farm Animals (Anne-Marie, Louis Tomlinson) and the Grammy-nominated The Invisible Men (Charli XCX, Madison Beer).

Putting the most confrontational elements of hip-hop, alt-pop and rock into one snarling package, FAANGS makes tracks which feel like a soundtrack for the dreamers, outsiders and misfits who populate Los Angeles’ dark undercurrent. The dominant theme is party excess, but it’s the result of dedicated hard work: a long journey of endless sessions, songwriting experimentation and constantly hustling to find that big break.

TEETH OUT track list:

  1. “RELAPSE”
  2. “DON’T BLAME ME”
  3. “THE BUZZ”
  4. “DIAMOND BITCH”
  5. “NIGHTMARE”
  6. “TEETH OUT”
  7. “ISN’T IT SAD”
  8. “HUH”
  9. “HOUDINI”
  10. “LONELY”
  11. “IT’S BAD”
  12. “I DON’T CARE”
  13. “I’M A LITTLE”

Gayle – abcdefu

17-year-old rising pop singer-songwriter GAYLE has debuted a stripped back version of her Atlantic Records debut single “abcdefu.” The original version has quickly amassed over 17M global streams. The emotional acoustic version of “abcdefu” is streaming now via YouTube HERE, which has been praised by Blackbook for its “earnest intensity.” “This video is to honor the girl who played in her bedroom for a year-and-a-half,” says GAYLE.

GAYLE celebrated the success of her fiery single “abcdefu” with three other alternate versions. “abcdefu (demo),” “abcdefu (chill),” and “abcdefu (angrier)” are streaming now via DSPs and streaming services. Each version showcases a different side of the versatile song.  The original version of “abcdefu” has amassed over 17M global streams and is available now at all DSPs and streaming services HERE; an official music video is streaming now via YouTube HERE. GAYLE has already garnered some of pop’s most influential playlists and the song continues to grow in streams every single week since its launch just over a month ago. Produced by Pete Nappi (Kesha, Anne Marie, Madison Beer, Illenium), “abcdefu” arrives as a glowing example of GAYLE’s gift for fusing raw sincerity with an idiosyncratic and sometimes irreverent perspective. With its minimalist backdrop of jagged guitar work, the tongue-in-cheek breakup song explodes into a glorious free-for-all at its gang-vocal-fueled chorus. But “abcdefu” also telegraphs the Nashville-based artist’s refusal to compromise her own needs.

Along with the new versions of “abcdefu,” GAYLE has announced that she will serve as support on the upcoming Winnetka Bowling League tour. Tickets are on sale now- see the full list of dates below, and visit https://www.wbleague.com/ for more info.

UPSAHL — “TIME OF MY LIFE”

“An artist who’s as great at writing a hook as she is at singing one” —BILLBOARD

“Bold and brash, she holds nothing back” —SPIN

“Exudes an infectious sense of confidence that provides an aura of empowerment for her listeners” —V MAGAZINE

“If you aren’t already a full-time UPSAHL stan, firstly: What’s wrong with you?” —COSMOPOLITAN

Today, critically acclaimed trailblazer UPSAHL releases her new single “Time of my Life,” an introspective anthem off of her debut album due out this October on Arista Records. The pensive track’s melodic hook and punchy chorus put UPSAHL’s addictive sound and songwriting prowess front and center.

Directed by George Gallardo Kattah, the playful video juxtaposes present-day UPSAHL with a younger version of herself, allowing moments of childhood nostalgia to manifest in the now. Raw and vulnerable, UPSAHL invites viewers to tag along as she wonders, “How come all the worst days are in the time of my life?”

Of the song, UPSAHL explains, “I wrote ‘Time of my Life’ about being the happiest I’ve ever been, while simultaneously being the saddest I’ve ever been. I’m at a place in my life where I feel like the highs are really really high, but on the flip side, it makes the impact of the lows even lower. The day we wrote this song, I had the line: ‘How come all the worst days are in the time of my life?’ dancing around in my head. So we ended up making that the chorus and building the rest of the song around it.”

Of the video, she added, “For the music video, George, the director, and I really wanted to emphasize the nostalgia that this song sparks. Personally, I feel like some of my most reflective moments are in the shower, so we wanted the video to take place there, while flashing back to some of the best and worst moments of my life. We wanted it to feel very dramatic and introspective, so we shot the video on a high speed camera at 60-1000 frames per second to make it all look like it’s moving in slow motion.”

You can listen to and watch “Time of My Life” HERE.

“Time of my Life” follows on the heels of UPSAHL’s recent single “Melatonin,” a “bright, buoyant” (Billboard) track exemplifying the iconoclast’s musical depth and creating another important stop in the journey to her upcoming debut album.

You can watch the “Melatonin” music video HERE.

In just a few short years, UPSAHL has penned numerous hits spanning various genres such as Dua Lipa’s “Good in Bed,” Madison Beer’s fiery single “BOYSHIT,” and “Happy Endings” with Mike Shinoda and iann dior. Most recently, UPSAHL collaborated with Anne-Marie and Little Mix and co-wrote
“Kiss My (Uh Oh),” released last week. UPSAHL’s track “Stop” was also featured on episode 3 of HBO’s new Gossip Girl revival.

UPSAHL will perform a run of fall dates across the U.S. opening for Olivia O’Brien kicking off August 30th at The Observatory in Santa Ana, CA. She will also make her first-ever headline show debut at the Courtyard Theatre in London this fall on October 12th.

ANNE-MARIE × NIALL HORAN

ANNE-MARIE & NIALL HORAN RELEASE THEIR NEW SINGLE OUR SONG

Anne-Marie and Niall Horan team up for nostalgic new single Our Song. Directed by Michael Holyk, the video is loosely inspired by Bonnie & Clyde as it trails friends, Anne-Marie and Niall, as they hastily flee their town in search for new beginnings. Additionally, Anne-Marie has announced her highly-anticipated new album Therapy, which will be released on July 23.

Therapy is the follow-up to her multi-platinum 2018 debut, Speak Your Mind, which was the UK’s biggest-selling debut release of that year and spawned two global anthems – 2002, written by Ed Sheeran, and the Marshmello collaboration FRIENDS, which reached #2 on the U.S. Top 40 Radio Charts. Therapy is a collection of songs that embody Anne-Marie’s characterful artistry, self-effacing attitude, and beautiful honesty.  Anne-Marie wrote Therapy with Max Martin (Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift), Kamille (Little Mix, Mabel), TMS (Dua Lipa, Lewis Capaldi), Blake Slatkin (The Kid Laroi, 24kGoldn), Plested (Lewis Capaldi), MNEK, Raye, Nathan Dawe and Ed Sheeran.  The album will include Our Song, along with previous released tracks Don’t Play with KSI and Digital Farm Animals and the Nathan Dawe and MoStack collaboration Way Too Long.

Of the album, Anne-Marie explains, “Ugh, it feels so good to announce my new album, Therapy! Music is a source of healing for everyone, and music is therapy itself, right? I hadn’t realized until we were hit by the pandemic just how much I needed music. I need to perform. I need to write. My lyrics are my open diary to you all and writing this album has helped me focus and understand my feelings. I needed this album!  As well as seeking therapy from writing and music in general, I’ve also been on a journey of seeing a psychiatrist this past year and it has changed my life. I’ve always tried to be as open as I can with my fans about my own journey and through seeing a professional, I’ve been able to start combatting and understand the anxieties my brain has dealt me over the years. I am learning, and I am progressing. This album helped me get to that place too and it encapsulates lots of feelings and emotions, whether it’s tracks that focus on my own ride, or the ones that I just loved making, and I hope you can lose yourself in it. I made this for you and me.”

About Anne-Marie

She has become one of the globe’s most successful pop stars since her breakthrough in 2016. Anne-Marie has over 5 billion streams to her name, a platinum debut album alongside five Top 10 UK singles and two Billboard Hot 100 hits.  She has garnered dozens of award nominations, sold out her global headline tour and supported Ed Sheeran in stadiums everywhere.  In 2020, alongside charitable work and recording, Anne-Marie released her first-ever documentary titled ‘How To Be Anne-Marie’ exclusively with YouTube. She hasn’t slowed down in 2021, her January release Don’t Play with KSI and Digital Farm Animals spent twelve weeks inside the Top 10 of the UK’s Official Singles Chart and is the biggest UK song of 2021 so far by a female artist, she collaborated with Nathan Dawe and MoStack on the feel-good Way Too Long and made her debut as the new, and winning, judge on The Voice UK.

“This project is really special to me considering a DJ I have listened to all my life wanted to remix my song,” says Elise on the collaboration. “It feels completely surreal and I am beyond thankful!”

“Less ft. Shoffy (Afrojack Remix)” arrives on the heels of the original version, which recently broke over a million streams on Spotify alone after being featured on key pop playlists worldwide and receiving international radio play–including multiple spins on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 2, the biggest radio stations in Europe. PRESS HERE to watch the effortlessly cool video for “Less ft. Shoffy,” which reflects on growing apart in a relationship and shows Elise defying expectations to stand out alongside a cast of her best friends. “Less ft. Shoffy” took shape after Elise threw herself into reimagining an early version of the track being toyed with by her father (GRAMMY-winning producer Mikkel Eriksen) and using her encyclopedic knowledge of music history and first-hand experience of watching the world’s biggest stars while growing up in the studio. The Afrojack collaboration also follows Elise’s second single “Smile,” which was co-written by Sasha Sloan, (Charli XCX, Camila Cabello, Anne-Marie, Katy Perry) The track showcases Elise’s distinctive vocals over her own piano instrumental while speaking to putting on a façade and smiling even though you’re not okay. PRESS HERE to watch the breathtakingly stark video, which was shot entirely by iPhone 12 on a frozen lake in Norway at -15°F.

Originally from Norway, Elise moved to New York City soon after discovering her love for music and is now based in Los Angeles. Learning over the years what it takes to make a perfect pop song, Elise is the daughter of one half of uber-producers Stargate (Rihanna, Katy Perry, Beyoncé, Coldplay) and grew up in the studio surrounded by the world’s top artists and songwriters. Embracing the uncompromising work ethic she grew up surrounded by, Elise devoted years to playing the piano and honing her craft before experimenting with writing songs of her own. Inspired by artists as eclectic as Stevie Nicks, Alicia Keys, Don Toliver, Pink Floyd, and Etta James, the seventeen-year-old’s dynamic musical imagination and sharp musical instincts reflect her endless creative curiosity and a deep commitment to her artistic growth.

“’Smile’ is a stripped-down, confessional ballad, with a chorus that aims for the rafters and nicely showcases the newcomer’s developing range.” – Billboard

“If you don’t already know the name Elise Eriksen, you’re about to in a big way.” – Sweety High

Shaylen – Forgive Myself

“Forgive Myself” is about learning one of the hardest lessons in life…self-forgiveness. Written and produced during self-isolation, the song shows the brutally honest pen-game that has become the hallmark of Shaylen’s reputation. “Forgive Myself” was executive produced and co-written by Jackson Foote from the much beloved electro pop group Loote and produced by Boston from Rice N’ Peas (Bazzi, Kiana Ledé, Anne Marie).

The track shows yet another side of the lyrical songstress. Airy guitar underscores confessions many may have but are hard to confront as she admits, “Don’t know how to love myself without somebody hanging in my bed” and “Don’t know how to be alone without the thought of crawling out my skin.” It builds towards an impressive vocal run fueled by just the right amount of throwback R&B vocal fireworks and pop punch.

Of the track, Shaylen says, “I wrote ‘Forgive Myself’ when I was in a really tough spot mentally. It’s all about my personal struggle with self-forgiveness. We are often taught the importance of apologizing and forgiving others but not the importance of forgiving ourselves when we mess up. I invented apologies, so I know all about it…”

“Forgive Myself” paves the way for more music to come from Shaylen this summer, as she continues to build buzz with her honest lyrics and powerhouse vocals. She recently lent her voice to the Chantel Jeffries banger “Come Back To Me.” It’s already clocked over 1.2 million Spotify streams and counting. In addition to plugs from Billboard, E! News, Variety, Elite Daily and more, CULTR praised Shaylen’s “powerful and meaningful vocals.”

Shaylen leaves a mark on pop by casually dropping the sort of lines you get tattooed somewhere scandalous or reserve for a drunk DM. Unafraid, unapologetic and unfiltered, she’ll put a boring ex on blast in one breath and open up about her deepest insecurities in the next. Yet, she sets gleefully pins those confessions to a defiant soundtrack of R&B, pop and alternative across her debut EP Highs & Lows and the buzzing 2019 single “Sprite.” Posting up over 10 million streams within a year and receiving praise from Billboard, Just Jared, Hollywood Life, Popdust and Idolator who pegged her as “on the brink of a major breakthrough,” the Los Angeles-based singer and songwriter turns heads in 2020 with a series of singles and her forthcoming full-length debut album for Republic Records.
